Great atmosphere and amazing service! Been meaning to stop in here for a bit, and happy that I finally got a chance. I love the bar area and location. The staff here are all super friendly. We stopped in at an off time and got a pizza. The pizza itself was ok, a good size for the price. I think my ideal time spent here would be with a drink and a slice at the bar. They did recommend the breakfast burrito so might have to stop back and try that.

I came here during a rainy day and for trivia. Would not recommend for rainy day since it's not an actual indoor place so you will get wet. Anyways service was good the people prob out some umbrella to shield us from the rain and made sure to bring us whatever we needed. Pizza was decent. It's kind of a bar/patio vibe so I can see it being more popular with tourists and locals during the warmer days and months. Worth checking out if you're heading to the beach from Washington blvd

Outstanding pizza! So glad this placed opened in our neighborhood. It is legit New York style pizza. We ordered delivery. The order comes with little containers of oregano, red pepper flakes and Parmesan. The crust is just the right combination of soft and crispy. Sauce compliments the toppings. Lucky Lu was perfectly spicy. We'll definitely be back.

When you close your eyes and imagine the most satisfying single bite of food imaginable, what comes to mind? The only correct answer is the breakfast burrito from WSP. They understood the assignment. Crunch on the inside. Crunch on the outside. Tiny sprinkles of goodness raining from the heavens. At some point in your experience, expect to briefly blackout from sensory overload. But when consciousness returns, you'll realize you've just ridden a rollercoaster of culinary opulence. Even better, this "breakfast" burrito exists outside the laws of space-time... you can order it all day. Do yourself this solid. You deserve it.

I love pizza. I didn't love this pizza. The first thing I asked what how big is the slice. I was told "a little smaller than Costco". No, it wasn't. In my opinion, it is half the size of Costco's, and that's okay, just don't compare yourself to them. I ordered a slice of Margherita and when it *finally* arrived, because I think they forgot me, it had ONE small piece of basil on it and I had to ask them to give me some to put it on myself. To top it off, the crust was burnt and the taste itself was mediocre. The lady next to me ordered a large Meat Lovers pizza. She and her brother took one bite and stopped. She said it was really bad but was too embarrassed to say anything. Then, to top it off, there was confusion about being allowed to sit in the patio. One employee (?) told me the patio was closed until 4pm but then two possible owners were telling other customers they could sit there. I didn't like the confusion, the wait, nor the pizza, so I won't be going back.

We have been eyeing Washington Square Pizza for what feels like ages, so we were excited to finally try it. The ambiance is genuinely one of its strongest points. It has that cute, relaxed beachside energy that makes you want to linger, grab a drink, and enjoy the coastal air. The location is fantastic since it is steps from the beach and also a great choice for sports fans because there are plenty of TVs and a lively atmosphere during games. The food unfortunately did not quite live up to the charm of the space. We ordered a classic cheese pizza and found it to be pretty mediocre. It was not bad, but it definitely did not stand out and felt more like a quick bite than something you would go out of your way for. We also tried the happy hour chicken fingers which sounded promising but ended up being subpar as well. The flavors were fine but fell short of what we were hoping for. Overall, Washington Square Pizza is a cute hangout spot with a fantastic location and a fun atmosphere, especially if you want to watch a game or grab something casual near the beach. The food itself lands at about a 3 out of 5, but the vibe and convenience keep it from dipping lower.

Was in the area saw the beautifully remodeled space so thought we would grab a few slices. I can only speak to the takeout window experience. Ordered the "margherita" and a pep slice. Not marg slice as I know it (that is more tomato forward with less mozzarella and basil) but was just a basic cheese. Both slices were very oily. We had to use a lot of napkins to soak it up. And I'm not one to usually dab a slice. Service was fine. They have a really nice patio and bar area on the restaurant side, I might go back to eat there or I might try their breakfast burrito one day.

I was so excited to see a real pizza joint opening right around the corner. Well the disappointment hit hard. They want to call this NY style but except for the slices being triangular this has no resemblance to a NY slice. The flavors aren't there. Tasted like it came out of a vending machine and looked like it also. No better than the pizza the Whaler offers. I will continue to go the few extra blocks to PIZZA GIRL or down to ANGEL CITY PIZZA where a New Yorker can get a real slice.

Good pizza! I'm a very picky East Coast pizza eater and this passes the text. Crispy thin crust without an excessive amount of cheese. Good pizza is hard to find in LA, I'm glad this is here.

Hi. Native New Yorker here. This pizza is terrific! If you miss NY pizza, you'll love this. Crust is IMMACULATE. I almost cried eating it as I haven't had great NY pizza in years!! Just the right amount of everything. It is an elevated slice, slightly smaller, more firm, a little less greasy than a traditional NY greasy slice but still hits all the good highs of having a slice after the clubs. Seating is mostly outdoors and they have walk up service and some nice specials. If you love pizza, definitely check it out. They have vegan too! And you can get a whole pie or by the slice!

Smells, looks and tastes amazing. Cheesy great and great customer service. Can purchase at window outside instead of dining in.

The rigatoni was cooked perfectly al dente - *Duck Pappardelle: a table favorite! The duck was plentiful and was enjoyed by all. The pappardelle was a little too soft for some people at the table, but I personally enjoy a wide, flat noodle. - Linguine al Limone: lemony and bright. I only wish there was a protein (like seafood?) with this to help enhance the flavor - Margherita pizza: Classic and delicious. The crust was delicious on this slice. - *Mushroom pizza: Toppings were generous and we all liked the mushrooms. Our crust in particular was a little on the burnt side, but we just picked off the areas that were more blackened. - *Green Beans: served chilled which provided a nice brightness to our dishes - Grilled Broccolini: good bite and also helped break up the meal Overall the dishes were easy to be shared and we left pretty full. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the amount of food that we got. PARKING Street parking only, but it wasn't too difficult to find parking on the street.

We had a gem Caesar salad (just ok, boring), the carbonara (just ok, pancetta? was chewy) and the bolognese (just ok, under seasoned). It was just ok! Service was weird but we also came right when shifts were changing cuz we saw our waitress walking down the street at one point. There she goes! Sat outside, such a cute area but as soon as you get your food here come the flies! Also, people talking loudly even tho it was not busy - inside would have been better, less busy, super open and so much seating. Saw 2 girls there who got ALL the breakfast foods and this is where I realized we went wrong. If you come here for lunch, I'd recommend the breakfast food - it looked FANTASTIC! Or maybe a pizza. The dinner food also looks better than the lunch food from the pics I see here on yelp!

The pizza is pretty good. The service is painful. As a patron and as best I can tell, there are two owners. Multiple times I am given a hard time by the woman owner... for needing a to go box. I work around the corner from the business. Once I came for a slice to go an was offered a paper plate. I asked for a second plate to cover the pizza so I could walk back to work. Once I got a bag for the pizza after asking. Once I came in and asked for something to help take two slices to go and was refused until the male owner appeared and gave it to me. Today, again, I wasn't accommodated with a box for my pizza slices. I asked the woman owner how many slices I needed to get a box to take away and got no answer. The male owner appeared and the answer was "two." I was ready to leave with two slices in two bags even though I could've had slices with a paper plate between them (my suggestion), but he gave me a box after I didn't get one earlier in my customer interaction. If the margin is so bad that you can't give a take out customer a box, then it's bad. But I leave thinking that it's more a race problem than anything else. Why was another (white) customer getting a box without pushback, but as a consistent customer I couldn't get basic service? I also asked about getting a second slice of cheese and there was no interest in helping me buy another slice (and give them more business). Next time I will send my white partner or I won't bother. Thanks to the male business owner because he can deal with me directly with a smile. But the rest of the service has been up and down to piss poor. And as a born New Yorker/New England transplant it sucks that the nearest slice place is hostile to a black customer looking to take away an order. Oh, and when I ordered a calzone online I had no problems, which makes it feel more like this is a personal issue.
