Best slice around. There's finally a decent slice of pizza for a decent price in the neighborhood. That title used to go to Abbott Pizza on Abbott Kinney but now pizza local is the place to go for that tasty slice. It get knocked for being a late night location, but that's what pizza is supposed to be a slice of pizza on the East Coast is what you could eat anytime of day and always count on it being quality snack that fit the budget. They have great fresh pizza in the window ready to go five dollars a slice regardless of what you get. This place is grungy. It's not the best pizza. The service is... fine. The homeless outside are... well it is what it is. I love the ladies there and as I got to know them better it really made it a great spot. The fridge is not even cold for drinks most of the time. The music is an interesting choice. The place feels a little dirty. Despite all the reasons not to come here, for some reason I found myself coming back. 20 times! I like the grunge and the meh of it all. Purchased two slices, a soda and water($21.17 + 18% tip) for a young guy, who appeared to be unhoused, standing outside. From the moment we entered, the short and squatty woman, behind the counter sized us up. She was curt, unfriendly and rude. Their card reader appeared dated as I was having trouble tapping with my phone. Her patronizing tone and overly simplistic uttering was unprofessional. I waited until he got his food. Because she said more than once that she'd give it to him. Based on her never changing look of disgust, I knew that meant she would make him wait outside until his food was ready. This place has a B rating in the window. That speaks volumes. The pies look dry and flavorless. I frequent Venice and have never eaten here because the food never looks appetizing. The customer service and "interesting" prices could use mark improvement. Much like their B rating. I regret leaving a tip. If you are like me and you are sick of overpriced, overrated, and bad service, this place is gold! Let's face it, we are not New York, and we get it they have the best pizza. But this pizza here is REALLY GOOD! It's chewy, crispy, flavorful, and well balanced. Not too much or too little of anything. My favorite so far is the Veggie or supreme. If there is something I can't stand is nickle and diming. Most places you have to ask for triple the toppings to see any veggies on your pizza. And the veggies here are always fresh. My favorite part is the seasoning on top of their pizzas. It's like the cherry on top! This place delivers quality, taste, and fabulous customer service. I have now ordered at least 4 times. I wanted to make sure they were consistent before I reviewed. 3 times I got delivery through their site, and every time my pizza was delivered hot, fresh and on time. How did I not know about this place!!? Best part is it's located next to the beach. No more trying to figure out where to grab a bite. They put garlic salt into a cheese shaker. I tried to sprinkle some garlic salt onto my pizza and it poured out. I presented them the issue, and they blamed me for ruining my own pizza, and tried to make me pay for another pizza slice. The guy behind me in line had to pay for me. A whole in the wall right next to the famous VENICE sign. Interior looks cool. The service was fast and friendly. Pizza slices are pretty big and they charge only $5 per slice. And $2 for soda.
