A few days ago by chance I passed by Samo Pizza on Pico in Santa Monica. That day I had the desire to eat a Good PIZZA like the one I eat in ROME. The taste, texture , the cheese , the tomato sauce, they choose made me and my tommy extremely happy to find a pizza tasting like the one I was used to eat at home in Italy. I tried the breaded (but not fried) mozzarella sticks with a pepperoni pizza, and Victor made it to order. I asked for the crust to be crispier and thinner, and he did it. He was so kind and grateful to see a returning customer; he even remembered the fact that the first time I came in here, I donated plasma prior to visiting and had my bandages on my arm. It's very sweet to me that he remembered me personally, and he likely sees hundreds of different people each week. I love sitting in the restaurant and listening to the family talk to one another. They are kind and good people, and they deserve to have their restaurant with a line out the door. They are excellent small business owners and I am excited to try their whole menu. Currently, I'm sitting in the restaurant waiting for my gluten free chicken pesto pizza; and it was COVERED, HEAVILY in fresh chicken (and good quality chicken, none of this pre-packaged crap) and I added bacon and it looked insanely good going into the oven, I can only imagine what it's like coming out. Staff lets the alarms on the timers ring for 3-5 minutes, repeatedly?? I guess the noise pollution doesn't bother them, but it was driving me crazy. Personally I like the rich creamy texture and mushroom toppings on the capricciosa (marinara, mozzarella, hams, mushroom, olives). Margherita pizza was better than some of the other pizza places I visited, but I wish the crust and dough could be a bit thinner, more cheese and wish there is fresh basil on the pizza. We had spent some time looking for a new place to try since we were tired of ordering from the same spot. In hindsight, we should have stuck with our original choice, Forma, because their pizza is much tastier. Both the Hawaiian and the supreme pizzas lacked tomato sauce, which made them taste like dry bread with too much cheese. The cheese itself wasn't very good either and didn't taste fresh. I was working in the area and saw glowing reviews for SaMo pizza, but I think the reviews were for previous ownership? Some other reviewer said this place was sold and is under new ownership from an Indian gentlemen that was very nice and welcoming when I walked in. Now for the food review. I wanted to get pizza by the slice but saw the cabinet was limited to just cheese and pepperoni, so I decided to just order a 12" supreme pizza. The toppings were loaded up but I felt the pizza was a bit dry and lacking in some tomato sauce. The dough tasted a little bit on the sweeter side of things. Pizza was oddly cut into 4 slices that made for a giant slice and sort of difficult to eat. I would've cut this 12" into 6 slices! Damage was $23 for a 12" pizza and Mandarin Jarrito. Decor was very clean and modern. The new owner was very nice and professional but I ended up only enjoying one slice out of the whole pizza. read more

Came here after an afternoon at Santa Monica Pier STARVING! It was fairly empty with places to sit inside or outside. The restaurant was clean with all the fixings you could want! I am so pleased I stopped by here. I donated plasma on Saturday evening, and I was already running on empty (not the brightest idea, I'll admit). This place is open late, and nothing else was available at 10:00pm in Santa Monica because it's, well, Santa Monica. This place was so cute and had a liquor store right next door (I'm sober, but I made note for my normie homies). All I wanted was a pepperoni pizza, and I ordered one for literally $16 dollars - which is an insanely good price in 2026 in Santa Monica. This pie was made to order, and it was so yummy, cheesy, and delicious - I loved it, the crust was crunchy and soft, a little too thick for my taste, but honestly till good. I nearly ate the entire thing in one sitting, so the crust couldn't have been THAT thick. The owners were so kind, sweet and helpful. They clearly CARE about their customers and their food, they put a lot of work into their service and their food and it shows. I am very pleased to have found this spot, and I will continue to come and get affordable pies, and next time I'll 100% be getting the motz sticks. They said that on their site there are deals, sometimes you can get the motz sticks for free with an order of a pizza. WHAT?! Can't wait to go back and try other things here.
