4 slices 2 started oops delish!!

BEST PIZZA Stop looking for a spot in Marina Del Rey or Venice, low key spot (bad location in my opinion) food wise great freakin pizza we got a slice of the meat lovers, supreme, Hawaiian & pepperoni 4 slices total about $25 more than enough for 2 people. Super fair prices. The owner is very nice guy always helpful, low key spot where you're able to order by the slice !! Check it out

Stopped in for my first time this past weekend for dinner and overall had a good experience however, the service could've been a lot better. It's located in a small shopping center that has plenty of free parking right out front. Inside is quite small, there are tables to dine in, but most seem to order to go from here. They have many different options on the menu from Brazilian pizza options to traditional Italian American options. They also have sandwiches and desserts. The issue we had is when we arrived and we walked in there were two ladies behind the counter. One looked at us as soon as we walked up to the counter and then immediately looked away and continued doing what she was doing. Another who eventually took our order, had her back turned for at least five minutes while we just stood there. It was odd to me that the first lady who saw us and didn't even say welcome or hello or anything, but rather we just stood there and waited for them to finish. Was not a great first impression. The food itself was pretty good however the center of my pizza was pretty soggy. We ordered a half and half of the Calabresa spicy sausage and Margarita. The flavors were nice, but I don't think it was cooked long enough or maybe had too much sauce in the middle because the center was very soggy even an hour after I picked it up. Overall, I would suggest if you are immediately in the vicinity like I am otherwise there are a few more famous pizza restaurants around LA if you are in the mood for the best version that you can get.

It's been a while since I've had Brazilian pizza, but it has a piece of my heart! To the naked eye, all seems like your regular Italian pizza, but there's something about the crumbly yet sturdy crust, something sweeter in the sauce while still maintaining that savory and acidic base, something so bouncy and melty about the cheese. I ate an ENTIRE pizza in one sitting. I started to get full, but absolutely could not stop. And now I'm sitting here in pain digesting and not regretting a single second of the tummmy ache.

Spontaneously decided to try this place while visiting Marina Del Rey. I actually didn't look into the details of this place and once I ordered I realized it is a Brazilian style pizza! First time trying it, you can definitely tell the quality of ingredients is great, dough is a little on the chewier side but perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the thin aspect of it. I have to say their sauce definitely has different notes compared to the average pizza sauce. Felt much lighter. I'm happy they allow half/half options so you can try two in one. Hawaiian pizza was very delicious and felt very fresh while the burrata pesto definitely had brighter notes from the fresh cherry tomatoes. Didn't taste much pesto though. Tried their pistachio/ricotta cake and cheesecake brulee. Pistachio/ricotta cake was pretty balanced in flavor and sweetness, 7/10. The cheesecake brulee has a cookie crust which was interesting and a little too sweet, 6/10. Staff was extremely kind and I would consider trying other items. They have a very extensive menu.

` This is the ABSOLUTE BEST PIZZA PLACE, in all LA, they will take care of you just like one of their own family and treat you with undeniable caring and loving hospitality. Whenever I visit LA this is a must I have to go or I did not do LA right. :) Pizza is flavourful, crispy and has a lovely authentic classic braziliian flare, CHAMA.. I just went with the classic Sãu Paulo it was one of the best slices of Pizza I ever had. I work for a James Beard awarded chef and this place needs one of those awards truly amazing. Also, they have apple juice in the cute little glasses bottles my FAVORTIEEEE:)) must visit truly.

The food is delicious, the people are friendly and helpful, nice clean, casual environment. Highly recommend. Didn't give us plastic utensils this time.

This is fantastic pizza. We tried the São Paulo and loved it. We'd been meaning to make it here for a while and decided to go on a Friday. So glad we did. Food was amazing. Great cakes and drinks too.

Super-nice people running this place. Pepperoni Pizza was very good. I'll be back. (photo) If/when you use a Sampa's bathroom, please note that for true security, you need to use the upper, sliding latch (A). Doing anything to/with the knob right above the door handle (B) won't prevent others from opening the door while you are doing your business. The managers should put signs on/near these devices alerting users of these facts.

I've lived right across the street from Sampas for a year now and always walk by it & thought I'd give it a try today. I got two slices of pizza and a salad lunch special and it was delish! All the ingredients were very fresh (sometimes salads and cherry tomatoes on pizza deter me) and the service was great! The gentleman was very accommodating with our customizations and I was happy I spent my money here. Ate the pizza before I wrote the review so didn't get a picture

    HAIR IN MY PASTA

Hair in my pasta and server Daniel V was very rude when it came to his service. DENIED MY REFUND AS WELL BY DANIEL WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH MANAGEMENT. Natalie manager didn't want to refund me for the hair in the pasta unless photo was sent to her phone. Overall sucky ass customer service here, do better SAMPAS on washington blvd

The restaurant overlooks the marina with amazing views. Lots of parking but its not free. The food was better than expected. The calamari was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The bread was warm and soft. Went great with the olive oil and balsamic. The amateiciana was homemade and simple yet flavorful just like italy. The marsala was also very tasty with balsamic glazed veggies hitting the spot. The service was lacking though. We placed our order and never got checked in on following getting our meals. No one came back to ask if we wanted dessert or if we wanted the check. Not even coming back to refill our waters. The lack of service really sets this place back. But everything else was great.

The chicken Marsala was also very tasty. The free bread was warm and soft. I believe it's beer and wine only, not a full bar. The servers speak Italian which also adds to the authenticity. Our server was very nice and attentive at first. But once the food was dropped off, she didn't check back until we were finished with all of the food. The vibes are extremely casual on the inside and I felt overdressed! It is a smaller and more intimate setting with small tables and lots of conversation and laughter. The staff are also very friendly, welcoming, and casual. They talk a lot with each other and their guests. It's like you're eating at a friend's house with how close everyone is with one another. Finally the food. The Caesar salad was extra fishy- it even came with whole anchovies on top! It was not my favorite since I prefer a more subtle anchovies taste in the dressing. The prosciutto and burrata were tasty and refreshing. Their rosemary(?) bread was fluffy and flavorful. The green fettuccine was rich in flavor and very filling. The star of the night for me was their Vodka pasta dish with prosciutto. They said it was a special, so I'm not sure how often they have it. All I can say is I was blown away by how rich the sauce was. The pasta is their biggest selling point- nice, Al dente, and fresh! For the desserts we tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. The tiramisu was nice and light. I personally wish there was more mascarpone, but I am a mascarpone fiend so I'm sure most people would consider it enough! The staff were kind enough to give us a complimentary panna cotta for our anniversary dinner. It was refreshing and subtle. I have never had panna cotta before, so I don't have a reference to which I can compare it. Overall 5/5. I won't sugar coat it. Yes the prices can feel high, but the context is you're right next to the beach, so it's understandable. (I always note the price tag for restaurants because I myself have to plan/save for nicer dinners. I included the bill for reference.) Keep that in mind when you are choosing to dine here. I will say though, I avoid beach side restaurants because they are usually over priced and mid tier. I can confidently say that Casa 12 brings the flavor and a pleasant, homelike break from the sandy beach. I think they are my #1 for pasta flavors. I am eager to see what restaurant can top them!

There's also street parking, but good luck. Service: INCREDIBLE. Everyone's super nice and accommodating. The server was incredible and they really aim to give you the five star experience. Ambiance: Beautiful rustic decor. However, the lighting is very dim and it gets very loud. I think it's so loud due to the space itself. Brick walls, high ceilings so sound just bounces off every angle. Not a deal breaker at all. Food: The food is three-star worthy at best. I've had tastier and more affordable Italian food elsewhere. I was really looking forward to the meal because the drinks and appetizers were incredible, so unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the expectations. The marinated olives ($12) and baby beets ($18) were delicious. The burrata on the baby beets was excellent, the beets themselves were sliced super thin, and the bread was fantastic. The mains, however, were just okay. Let me be clear: PORTION SIZE IS WELL BELOW AVERAGE. Most of the dishes are on the smaller side, and for the price point, I expected significantly more. The ravioli with crab and lobster was PHENOMENAL easily the best dish of the night. Here's my gripe: for $33, you get six ravioli. That's laughable. Six pieces for $33 is a tough sell, even when they taste this good. The linguini was very good. The pasta could have been cooked a little longer, but I'm really splitting hairs there. Again, though, at $30, I expected the combination of portion size and flavor to be better. The chicken parm with a side of bucatini is where I had another issue. The chicken parm alone is $35, and it's a relatively small portion. Want pasta with it? That's an additional $11, bringing the total to $46 for what was, in my opinion, a mediocre dish. The chicken is thick it's not your traditional thin and crispy cutlet. The pasta itself was fresh and had a great taste, but it was terribly undercooked. The sauce was fine, but I've definitely had better. The lasagna was tasty, but nothing to write home about. I'd call it a standard portion, and honestly, out of all the dishes we ordered, this was the one that felt appropriately sized for the price. Dessert: The mini cannolis were tasty and pretty good. I'd get them again. The tiramisu was delicious. It wasn't overpowered by the coffee flavor, and it wasn't incredibly soggy like so many tiramisus I've had. Really enjoyed this one. Final Thoughts: All in all, Scopa is a very expensive restaurant serving mostly mediocre food. The vibe is excellent, the service is friendly, and the drinks and appetizers are fantastic. But unfortunately, the food just doesn't resonate with me especially when you factor in the price. When you're spending $300+ on a meal, I expect the food to be exceptional, not just okay. If you're going to spend that kind of money on Italian food, I'd personally go to Bestia in DTLA. If you want something that's going to be more delicious and considerably cheaper in price, try Sunday Gravy instead.
