So, its late November 2025. I see on the Castro Valley Vibe IG page about a promotion being offered at the Castro Valley Water House for gallons of water. I'm thinking.. " I like water. I like to support my community." So I go in the beginning of December 2025, and talk to Eric I believe. I inquire about a membership and he's all jolly about it and said sure, let's do it. My gut told me, something was off by his reaction. Folks. Listen to your gut. I go a few weeks later in December during the hours of operation. Door is locked, but someone is in there. After a few minutes. They begrudgingly, let me in. I get my water and go. The next time I go to the Waterhouse, its about two days after New Years. There's a sign on the door saying. "Water House is no longer available at this address. If you have any questions or need water service. Please contact Water House directly. Thank you for your cooperation. " Mind you, there is zero contact information on the sign. Luckily, I grabbed a business card the first time I went to this business. So I email them. No response. Then I text the number with my concerns. The response is that they will Zelle or Venmo the money that is owed to me. I probably got about 10 to 12 gallons in total out of my membership. They tell me that they are waiting for the Attorney records and to get back their binder with the memberships and that if I know of any locations they can relocate, to let them know. I don't know any locations. They then tell me I should get a refund within a month. I wait a month and a half and text for updates. No response the first text. 2nd Text, they tell me that they are meeting with lawyer the next day and that soon after they would send me my refund via Zelle. Since that day in February, I've reached out every month since, and NO RESPONSE. Am I salty about it. Without a doubt. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is dealing with this. It's one thing to close down a business. But to then lead me on and say I will be getting a refund soon and then just stop responding. Not cool at all. read more

This place is always clean, and the customer service is outstanding. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly, which makes every visit a pleasant experience. The purified and alkaline water are the best around--so fresh and high quality. I also love that we can bring our bottles in, have them sanitized before refilling, and the prices are very reasonable. Coming to Waterhouse is 10x faster and easier than going to a water machine outside a grocery store. The water tastes crisp and you don't have to worry about the last time the machine was serviced. I should've written this a month ago. This is a fantastic place to grab your purified water needs. Reverse osmosis is the main product, but he does sell Alkaline water as well. I'm embarrassed I forgot the owners name, and he's very a chill guy. Always helpful and honest. I was buying so much water one day 50-60 gallons and he pointed the savings I would get if I joined their frequent buyer club. To be honest, the only drawback to the place is the parking. The are two schools in the center one is a martial arts gym, and I'm not sure about the other one. What I do know, if you go at the wrong time you're having to park farther then you'd want to be carrying 5 gallons worth of water. They do have carts to make it easier for you. It's very quick and easy to refill your water jugs with either reverse osmosis or alkaline water. The membership also makes it even easier to not have to pay each visit. I much rather to come here to fill up my water bottles, instead of going to one of those machines at other stores (inside or outside, those machines are unattended and usually lack the appropriate maintenance/cleaning). Water house is clean, the ambience is nice (although you are there just to fill up water bottles), they have carts to transport the heavy bottles to your car, they are friendly, and you do good supporting a small business in our community. read more

Water house is the place to go for your water needs! It's clean, more than enough faucets, plenty of parking but the absolute best part of this store is Eric. Eric has assisted my boyfriend and I each time we have gone. His customer service is top notch. Last week, knowing we already had a screw in our tire, we drove to Water house. Upon arrival our tire was hissing. Eric came out and checked on us. Being that the truck we were driving was new to us it took a while to figure out how to release the spare. Eric brought us out a flashlight and water. He offered to assist and to stay past his closing time to make sure we were good. You can't get better service than that! read more

Like everyone else, I'm glad there is finally water store around the area. It's close to home, and has the water I need, including the alkaline option which I think is really cool.
