Spent over $50 here the other night on dinner, after we'd been craving sushi. I called a few different places but they were all closed so we decided to try out Water Moon. We ordered 2 Las Vegas rolls, a California roll and another specialty roll. The specialty roll and the California roll were great and so were the cream cheese wantons. Unfortunately, the Vegas Rolls were pretty gross -- I actually threw mine away and my roommate didn't eat his either. They didn't seem to be deep fried all the way (and they were mushy). We might give this place another try, but I'd stay clear of the Vegas rolls. read more

We ordered dinner from here the other night and it was great. We ordered sushi, the orange chicken dinner, edamame and cream cheese wontons. The sushi was really good and fresh. The orange chicken was good as well. The cream cheese wontons are sweet, maybe honey in them? I wasn't a fan but my husband liked them a lot. They were quick with delivery and better than some of the other Chinese places we have tried. I'm not sure what is up with the ham fried rice, it must be a Utah thing. Overall, very good. My pregnant wife had a craving for Chinese today and we looked on yelp to find this restaurant. It was our first time there and we were offered a private booth by the hostess, which was very nice and intimate for us. The menu is quite extensive and it took us a while to decide on dishes. For the appetizer we had cream cheese wontons which were light, crisp and flavorful by themselves, but the side sauces of sweet n sour and hot mustard were great. The mustard is quite hot but great for those of us who enjoy it. My wife started with the chicken Lo Mein which was very flavorful and had great noodles. A side of ham fried rice came with the main dish which by itself was a bit bland, but a bit of soy sauce really picked it up. Her main dish was a Kung Pow mix with chicken, beef, and shrimp. It had great flavor and enough spice to be hot without being overwhelming. I ordered General Tso's bento box which came with pot stickers, ham fried rice and a side salad - a great lunch size meal. Again the rice needed some extra soy sauce to pickup the flavor. The pot stickers had very good flavor, but needed to be bit more crispy. Unfortunately, the side salad seemed to be out of a bag and I wish they would offer stir fried vegetables instead. The main chicken had a very good light, crispy coating with standard chicken pieces, but the sauce on it really came through with great flavor. The service was awesome and quick, very freindly. The food came out quickly and our waitress was very attentive. I'm glad they have take-out as I suspect that my wife will ask for it more in the coming months. read more

We came here pretty often historically as we lived in Draper. The owner's wife was an Indonesian, so we used to come here and chit-chat using our first language. The food is good in general and they used good/fresh ingredients. We loved their crispy beef, walnut shrimp and their fried noodle... love it. The only issue is on the price whereby it is generally higher than other Chinese restaurant around, but their taste and service complemented it. I had the salmon sushi bento lunch box. It was quite delicious. My colleagues ordered more traditional Chinese items - which I think are more successful only if you are expecting "Chinese American", not "Chinese". Anyway, good service. Pretty decor. read more

Wish I could give half stars because this is more of a 2 1/2 star place. I came here with some friends for a work lunch. Typically, sit down places will have a lunch special or two that are cheaper than their traditional fare. I guess walking in and seeing the place empty was a sign that we weren't going to have a great experience. They have a lunch menu that is about a dollar cheaper than their dinner prices which start at about 12-13 bucks a plate. The food itself wasn't too bad. Typical Chinese/Japanese fare. We all ordered bento boxes to keep the cost under 15 dollars each. It came with a reasonable amount of food, but you may or may not get full on it (which is inexcusable for 12.99). The real downer here was the service. Our server kept trying to sell us on some giant sushi platter that was 60 bucks and didn't give us any suggestions on lunch options. He barely refilled our drinks, but kept stopping by our table after he'd given us the check. The booths provide a nice, private setting, but it is completely negated when you're talking business and keep having staff peer in to see if you've left yet. Overall, it wasn't a good experience, but it wasn't awful. Just don't expect great service and prepare to pay a lot for Chinese food that is probably just as good as any other decent Chinese place. Who knows, maybe their sushi is out of this world or something. I'm not going to venture in again to find out. read more

As we got here we were seated at a table I told the young kid that we called in for a booth and he had no idea what we were talking about, he asked around and they told us it would be a few more mins. Now it's been about 15 and still sitting here looking at the empty booth, still waiting. Food looks good and tastes good. Still no booth no one gives a shit. No tips for them. FINALLY got a booth. THE BEST ASIAN FUSION IVE EVER HAD!! I'm writing you now from food coma. We stopped into Water Moon after a day of basketball tournaments. We were hungry, tired and...well... hangry. You know those times where you're so hungry you don't even know where to start? Yeah- that's where we were! Our server Kyle sat us immediately and quickly set to offering a wonderful service experience! We kind of ordered till our hearts content. Edamame and Cream Cheese Wonton for appetizers, Orange Chicken, General Tso, Crispy Beef, Walnut Shrimp, Ham Fried Rice, and Chicken Lo Mein. (I told you we were hungry. Oh and did I mention it was two adults and four kids). Things came out quickly and it was all amazing!!! The owner, Annie even came out and talked with us! Making us feel SO at home!!! I mean I have to tell you- Asian food is not usually first on my list of places to go. Usually it's someone else that mentions it and then I say "ohhh yeah. Ok". Doesn't look like much on the outside it this place is really good! We enjoy eating there at least once every two weeks! They have awesome deals on Chinese or Japanese bento boxes. Three stars indicates I will probably be back, but not very often and only on an average night out. Had everything from the teriyaki bowl, to sushi, to the traditional Chinese stir fry dishes. The food is ok, it's the type of Chinese food with tons of breaded and fried meats loaded with sauces. If that is your cup of tea you will love this place, but I find it a little off putting. The best thing I've had here is the fortune double crunch sushi roll, unexpectedly delicious. I always end up paying more here than I expect as well. read more

This place has an absolutely gigantic menu. It took twenty minutes to read through all the various options. They have a large selection of Asian themed dishes to choose from. Some of these include sushi, noodles, and bento boxes. The atmosphere was pretty quiet as there were not very many people in the restaurant at the time. This could be because it has been open for only a short time. They had a TV above the sushi bar which is nice. There was booths off to one side that had curtains you can close which would be nice if the restaurant ever gets crowded. Because the menu is so so large we took our time reading through all the options and we had some questions. This took a while as this was our first visit. The waiters were constantly coming up to us and asking us if we were ready to order. I don't think they understood what a mess the menu was to understand and grasp. The food was pretty good. A couple of the dishes were a little weak, overly light in protein and heavy on vegetables. The sushi rice wasn't the best. But considering the price it was good value. Overall we had a good experience and were satisfied with the food. I think I would have to go back again in order to raise it to four stars. For now it gets a solid three stars. read more

Pleasantly surprised with my singapore chow mei fun. Velvety and not too salty and bits of egg covering my noodles. It was quite good and will definitely be back to try more of the menu. It's not too often I find myself desiring Asian food while in the Draper neighborhood. However, I went on a double date the other day to the Haunted Circus by the Strangling Bros. and we all found ourselves wanting sushi. Using our handy dandy Yelp apps, this came across as the closest/best option around. Win. For a Friday night, the place was occupied but not crowded, good sign for a nice dining environment. We chose to sit in one of the booths, which had a very intimate feel to it, and started to ponder over the vast array of food on their menu. If the menu had ads, I'd swear I was at Cheesecake Factory. My boyfriend and I ended up ordering jasmine tea, edamame, and 4 sushi rolls. We were kind of hungry. I was a little disappointed that for an Asian restaurant my tea was given to me as a tea bag with a teapot full of hot water. At least it was a decent tea, my only complaint was that the cup they gave me to drink my tea in was far too hot to hold, yet the tea's temperature was perfectly drinkable. The edamame came out very quickly, as did the rest of our rolls. The rolls all tasted fresh and tasty, however, they were poorly formed and fell apart quite easily. After submitting order, I promptly received a call where I was told "extra" wonton strips would cost $1.66. I thought ok, I did ask for"extra" wonton strips, so no biggie, right? And the girl that called did use the word "extra" in regard to wonton strips. Picked up my order and went home. Opened the bag and I only have ONE bag of wonton strips, no "extra" bag. I called the restaurant since I expected two bags of wonton strips. I was informed that for take-out, no wonton strips are included at all. I asked what if I dine-in? "Oh, in that case we do give wonton strips." WTF, when are wonton strips ever not included with egg drop soup? ! ? They also don't know why they charge for take-out, but not dine-in. I met a few friends for lunch and just off I 15 to Bangerter is our central meeting point. Who doesn't love sushi and figured this place had some good reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. I do have to say the service is quick and efficient. I wasn't impressed with the food especially with the prices that go along with it. The miso soup broth was just okay and it was served in a really small bowl (considering they charged me for a large and I had to correct that). The green tea was served with a nice tea kettle and cup, but you're only given a single green tea packet. I ordered a single sushi roll, the vegas roll. This photo did not show it was covered in sauces; however, when I receive it the roll had two different sauces smothering the roll. It was overkill and made it difficult to enjoy the roll itself. The veggie spring rolls were tasty with a nice light golden crunchy exterior and the standard or hot mustard sauce to dip in. One of my friends ordered the bento box with shrimp and they were huge. It did look good. Maybe next time I need to order something besides sushi because for the price you pay I'd go somewhere else. read more

First off its Asian fusion food people, not Chinese. Consistently fresh, hot, and flavorful. The menu is extensive and yet everything is good. A rarity in the restaraunt business. The sushi is too notch and not the farm raised crap. They serve a variety of alcohol, sake, beer, as well. Top it off with a phenomenal staff and you've got a great meal experience. They have some enclosed booths along one wall that make for a more intimate time. I highly recommend Water on the moon! read more

Has quickly become our goto Chinese place when we want something quick and close to home. The prices are pretty comparable to other places around the area, but the take-out portions are larger. The walnut shrimp is quite good, as are most of the chicken dishes. I haven't tried the sushi as it seems a bit over priced, but the rest of the menu has been good no matter what we have ordered. We get take out from here all the time and absolutely love it. The delivery is always quick and well packaged. Last night was the first time we went in to the restaurant and ate - now I love it even more! Our waiter was so kind and helpful in answering my questions and even offered to take our photo when he saw my mom get up to take it. Very thoughtful! The food, as always, was delicious. We have had many things on the menu but the crispy beef bento box is my favorite! Soup, salad, dumplings & the meal? Yes please!! There are always leftovers because the portions are so big. I'm always leery of places that advertise multiple cuisines because so often that means they do neither well. But we were in the neighborhood at 2:00 p.m., my blood sugar was crashing, and I was desperate for food. I was, frankly, quite pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was the first delight. Very tasteful, upbeat, Asian Fusion decor. The calligraphy on the tables was beautiful and a detail that I especially enjoyed. We sat in a cozy, private booth with a set of medallions depicting the Eight Immortals on the wall. Another very nice touch, in my opinion. The food was also surprisingly good. I've not often been served Chinese food in a bento box (except on a train in Taiwan over 40 years ago) but it worked. The Pork in Garlic Sauce (Yu Hsiang Pork) was really exceptional. Not too sweet. Not too spicy. The heat didn't mask the complex flavors of the dish, but it did leave a pleasant, lingering warmth on the lips and tongue. My husband and I never venture this far into the valley but we were in the area and felt like some classic Chinese good. Walking in, we were both thrilled to be sat in a covered private booth off to the left. My husband ordered the orange chicken with ham fried rice, and w both loved that it was more citrusy than sweet. The ham fried rice was mediocre. I ordered the dinner plate meal with pork in garlic sauce. It was delicious! Very American tasting, but they do have more authentic Chinese options on the menu. I loved that my plate came with rice, a salad with dressing, and potstickers. I thought this was a really good deal and well worth the price! WaterMoon is a fantastic restaurant with great service and staff. I was very happy with almost all my food especially the dumplings. The only thing that prevented me from giving a 5 star was the fried rice. I felt that it was not as good as other restaurants I have been to and lacked flavor.
