I came for lunch with a friend. There wasn't a wait and the waiter quickly helped us out. Nice environment with an indoor waterfall feature. Having never been I was a little nervous. The waiter handed me the menu and it was very confusing. There are about 200 options of what to get and nothing that seemed to simply help someone new know what is a common order. A little disappointing and intimidating. My friend ordered a side of fried calamari which was quite good. I had a basic sesame chicken with rice and I forget what he ordered. It was a very well prepared chicken. Had a simple crunch on the outside and soft on the inside and just enough sauce. I was very impressed! If I had known they were going to have a LARGE table there I would have gone somewhere else. they need either a divider or some sound deadening in the ceiling. I would give it a 4.5. Started with fried dumplings, and you know what? I couldn't tell if they were fresh or frozen. Which is actually a plus, cause any where else I would have identified that quick. These weren't identifiable, but we'll give the edge to freshly made because of that. They were good. As per reviews, the crispy beef was pretty good! Caramelized beef, but without sticking to your teeth. Because it's caramelized, it maintains its heat pretty well too, which I loved. Tasty. Sushi- read a lot of bad reviews here for sushi, but the wife wanted to order a roll anyway. She ordered the bellagio. Pleasant surprise, it was actually good!! Not sure about it being worth $16 though. Seafood combination, the wife loved it. I didn't get to try it but she told me it had the most perfectly cooked scallops she's ever had. Everything was great! Now...the cons? Price, this 2 person meal came out to be $55. I could ditch my wife and go eat a fancy restaurant with that! The server poured water in my wife's sprite as a refill. But at least he acknowledged and apologized when we pointed it out. We were the only ones there but the server bombarded us with our order like he was in a rush to get us out. First time here. We've eaten a lot of Chinese food in many cities over the years. This place is friendly, nice atmosphere, really fast (on a Monday at 6;30 pm) and the food is yummy. We had house fried rice, vegetable delight, Watermoon shrimp, and pineapple chicken. They served us each a lettuce salad, and there was a large bowl of lightly brown rice. I'm tempted to give it 3 stars to other people won't come here, but it really deserves 5 stars, except for the plain salad (which came with the meal free so that was enjoyed). read more

We ordered beef flat noodles, Canton fried noodles, stir fried tofu and vegetables. I ordered Singapore fried noodles instead she gave me fried rices. This was a miscommunication on both parties. She missed my beef flat noodles when I went to pick my foods. She tried called me when she realized that. We went back later to pick the beef flat noodles, they cooked a new one for us and even gave us some pan fried dumplings. The food taste were on the average standard. It's pretty marginal for 4 stars, but given the pitiful other options for Chinese or Japanese, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They don't go too heavy on the sugar, but it's good old Americanized Chinese comfort food. I've not tried the sushi. I've done a little cooked Japanese, but I have no strong opinion of it. I like Water Moon's options for lunch. You can get the Chinese or Japanese bento boxes which offer a little of several things. The spring rolls are good. Teriyaki chicken is also good. I also like the Mango Shrimp dish a la carte. They are always very friendly and the service is speedy. read more

I would have given 4 stars but i took out one because i think this place is expensive for dinner. Two of us had dinner specials - 48 dollars for two soups, one appetizer, 2 maki sushi and 2 sets of nigiri sushi (or 3 maki sushi). For the soup, we had sour and spicy, and miso soup. They were alright. Appetizer was Tempura Shrimp, which was alright too. The shrimps were pretty thin. For maki sushi, we had The Rendezvous, which we think was pretty ok. We think it was too little. We really liked the Caterpillar. These two maki sushi costs 13.99 and 14.99 each if we were to order them by themselves which we think is expensive for this eatery. The Salmon and Tuna nigiri sushi were pretty good for raw sushi. In short, we think 48 dollars for two is expensive and we did not even feel that full. The quality of the food was acceptable to good though. I would rather go to those sushi places in the valley with 50% off sushi dishes with pretty similar quality. read more

We live on the neighborhood and have hopes for at least 3 star establishments. I would say we are generous with ratings especially for good service. Unfortunately Watermoon is a disappointment. First of all the service is short and pushy. The food is less than average. The price is EXTRAORDINARILY HIGH for what you get. I have been her two times. Once for American Chinese and once for sushi. In both cases I found the price to be exorbitant for what you get. Particularly the sushi. Do yourself a favor and go to Harmon's grocery next door. Really wish they would go out of business and some other much higher quality restaurant would move in. read more

I placed an order online at lunchtime for Water Moon through Beyond Menu. Once I clicked to submit the order, I got in my car to make the 5 minute drive to Water Moon. I was pleased to see my order was already cooked and bagged up when I arrived! I got the "lunch" order of water moon chicken. The reason I give 4 stars is because I was a little disappointed in the simplicity of the "lunch" menu item. My expectation for a Chinese lunch is usually fried rice, a meat choice, an eggroll or potstickers, and soup. The lunch special for the Water Moon chicken was just a really barebones version of fried rice (just rice, oil, soy sauce, and a little of egg and ham), and then a large serving of the chicken. The water moon chicken was great, and I had enough food to eat for lunch and then later for dinner. But at $9 for what I thought was a lunch special, I don't feel like I got some great value to shout about from the rooftops. Maybe they do have a really amazing lunch deal, and it's only available for dine-in, but I wouldn't know. Overall, it was a good experience and a convenient and tasty lunch option. I decided to try out this hidden little gem today and boy oh boy was I surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect from a little Chinese food restaurant hidden away in a strip mall but they served some of the best Chinese food I have found since moving to Utah roughly 11 years ago. When I first arrived I walked in and the place was pretty quiet with only a few patrons inside (just after Lunch on a Saturday). Everything was clean and tidy, and I was very quickly seated. The waiter was there almost immediately asking if I would like anything to drink and if I already knew what I wanted or if I needed some time to look over the menu. The waiter was a little hard to understand sometimes, but was very friendly and eager to help which was great. Appetizer: For an appetizer I decided to get the Lettuce and Chicken wrap. The waiter came back within minutes with the Appetizer, they had a plate with half heads of lettuce, and another plate with a chicken & veggie mix. I picked up one of the lettuce leaves and scooped in some chicken, folded it up and took a bite. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, no browning, and hadn't gotten soft with age or heat. The chicken was nice and flavorful and overall it provided a nice crisp and clean start to the meal. Main Course: For the main course I ordered the Mongolian Beef. Again it was brought out within only minutes as though they had just been waiting for me to come in and place my order. The beef was mixed in with a plate full of onion and other similarly flavored veggies (there were several different types all with an onion type flavor). The meet was thinly sliced with a nice dark color. It had a nice beefy onion flavor with a nice soft texture to the meat. This also came with a side of fried rice which was very soft and tender with good flavor. Overall the food was great, but there was no particular star for me to focus on. All of the food that came out was flavored as expected, service was incredibly fast, and it all tasted freshly prepared. If you are in a hurry and want a great meal, or on your lunch break etc... then this is a great place to visit. The service was faster than most fast food places and the food was significantly better. I think you would find it hard to go wrong with this place and there are plenty of options available including a large Sushi menu if that is something that interests you. While I didn't try the Sushi, if it is presented with the same level of attention that my food was you will absolutely have a great time. Recommendation: I would absolutely recommend giving this place a shot. The prices seem pretty reasonable, the food was fresh and good, and the service was very friendly and insanely fast. In regards to improvements, it would be good if I could understand the waiter a bit better, but at the same time this does provide some authenticity and character to the restaurant. Otherwise the food was great, the restaurant was clean and tidy, and the service was impressive. Very well done. I will definitely be back again to try out some of the other food options. read more

I just moved to this area and was anxious to try this restaurant. I ordered the lemon chicken. Positive: Chicken coating was thin and crisp. Negative: The sauce was more sweet than lemony. The proportions of chicken to rice was; 1/4 chicken to 3/4 rice. This was a major disappointment compared to other take out. It was pricy for the lunch menu $12+. Won't go back. read more

Being a former New Yorker of 25 years, I have tasted some pretty decent sushi in my time. I went to visit a great and dear friend of mine in Draper, Utah this past September 2012. While there, I saw Water Moon in a strip mall. I always like Sashimi like white tuna and the "top of the line" roles. I was not disappointed and visited a total of 4 times there. Some of those high end rolls were just dynamite and worth the price. They average about $13-$15 each and you can really fill up on 3 or 4 rolls between 2 people. The only thing that was slightly bothersome is that they had too much shrimp tempura options on the high end. Nevertheless, explore. As for their white tuna (Albino) roll. And so many others that you should take your time and order a few. And they offer this great special where during the days of Monday through Thursday during the times between 11am and 7pm, you can order TWO high end rolls for only $20. That can save $6 for two and $12 for four rolls. An excellent deal. My friend and I took advantage of the savings when ordering our rolls. Again, I like the high end rolls. I did not even attempt the Chinese as I was in no mood for it while in Utah. I prefer Sushi over Chinese most of the time when given an option at the speciality high end rolls and sashimi. Since I went these 4 times, I got to know the staff and they are very friendly and attentive. The chef and the head waiter are former New Yorkers out of the Bronx. They brought their skills and know how from New York City. We particularly liked the booths as they were cozy and quiet and gave you the impression that you were isolated from the open parts of the restaurant giving one privacy for any conversation.
