He was the second one to come out to do a leak test on my pool, not only was he professional, but allowed me to watch as he worked. He showed me where leaks normally come from, did a sonar leak test on the pool. Found a small leak in the skimmer and for the price of coming out fixed it. We shortly had the Pool replastering done with a new skimmer but the fact he was so honest(previous guy said skimmer was cracked and was going to be $3,500.00 to fix). Very dishonest , unprofessional greedy an insensitive man ! didn't told us how much he will charge us and we never agreed on any price at all he said he was just going to test our pool pipes next thing he charged my husband $475 !!! to just pressure test our pool pipes ? our pool still broken he assumed because we didn't ask that it was ok to do the work we never sign no payment agreement so i found it very dishonest and insensitive to charge so much money My husband pointed at him the exact area where where the broken pipe was and he didn't found nothing different than him . also he said he wouldn't repair it either because he don't do digging to fix the pipe like what kind of business is he really running Mr Water Wiz our pool still broken !!!! First like to say always get cost in writing. Bob quoted on the phone diagnosis and repair for $800. Which sounds great I check his reviews. Which were also good. So I was surprised when he came out spent one hour confirmed a leak , which I pointed him were I thought it was. He said that he could not repair without removing the concrete deck, which he knows a guy. So then asked for $800, he then proceeded to tell that was just to come out and diagnosis the pool leak and would make it up on the repair which would be more. He agreed for $675. It is hard to find professionals that are honest. Don't let home town talk fool you. Pool leak still not fixed I am out $675. I hope people read these reviews. read more

Bob Humphreys is a nice enough guy, but I would not suggest doing business with him. I had a leak in my pool system and he came over to diagnose and find out where it was. He never provided me with his rate for service or provided me with a quote. First he said that it was a valve and the piping going into the filter motor and he replaced those items. He told me that the valve was $100.00 just for the part. My normal pool guy later told me that he would have installed a new valve for free and charged me only for the part, which was $50.00. After replacing those parts, Bob determined that was not where the leak was coming from and went to get his scuba tank to run air through the system. He then determined that the leak was under my concrete and would need to be dug up and new concrete be laid to fix the issue. He started to pack up and turned the system on and it the filter wouldn't prime so now there was a new and larger leak. He spent an hour trying to figure out what went wrong and he finally figured out that he had installed the new valve without the seal. I assumed he would charge me for the parts and labor for the first hour, but he ended up charging me for the second hour of him looking for a mistake that HE made and had nothing to do with my original problem. He charged me $355.00 and told me to make out the check directly to him so he doesn't even have a business account set up. Pretty shady if you ask me. Before he left, he said he would contact me the next week to get something on the schedule to come over and repair the leak. I never heard from him and after being overcharged the first time, I would not have let him back on my property to do any additional work anyway. Stay away from this guy if you want to hold onto your hard earned money and for your problems to actually be fixed. I had called Bob out to find a water leak in my pool and was very disappointed in the service provided. I set the appointment with Bob for 10:30am and he didn't show up tell an hour later. As he was checking the supply line pipe he managed to break part of the jet nozzle. He did not apologize for the damaged caused by himself or deduct the cost from the bill. I had to ask him again if he was going to test the return lines for leaks and he replied "oh yea" as he forgot. On top of all that he didn't even check all my lines going to my pool. I found his equipment to be out dated and untrustworthy. After a an hour of looking for my leak he informed me of where the spot was leaking under my concrete. At this time he packs his equipment up and asked if I need an invoice as if he didn't want to give one. He will not explain why he charges so much or give you an estimate before you can say no to his services. Bob will give you false hope on finding any problems then charge a excessive amount of money which cost me $475.00 for nothing. My pool is still not repaired but most of all the leak was over 4 feet away from where Bob said it was. Now he told me to find some one to dig up the ground because he wouldn't. I had to dig the ground up myself and found the leak in a totally different area. I would not recommend the company for any repair or services. read more

We have a 100,000 gallon community here in Ceres, CA, and for the past few years we have had a major leak and recently it got so bad we could barely afford the water we were having to put back in the pool every week. Our county inspector recommended Bob Humphrey, the Water Wiz. He came out on short notice and found the leak very quickly! Some one forgot to glue a section of pipe together under ground and they came apart! How lazy is that? So now with the leak fixed, our water level stays up week after week! Bob Humphreys, owner of Water Wiz, cost me more money in the end. On the initial visit Bob took about 3 hours to locate the underground leak in my pool piping. The pool repair contractors drilled into the concrete and did not find a leak at the location Bob identified. I asked Bob to return to located the leak. I had paid him in full to locate the leak, which was not done. He demanded to be paid again (full price) to come out again and said that the pool repair specialists ought to dig up the gunite under the skimmer basket ($2000 job) - he insisted that this was the location of the leak. Luckily, the pool repair guys realized that Bob Humphreys did not know what he was talking about and instead figured out a way to test for the location of the leak. They found that is was not anywhere near the skimmer basket! At this point Bob offered to come out again and "maybe, charge me." He forgot and missed our appointment. After back-and-forth he finally showed up. It took 3 hours of searching and he then located 2 leak locations. He did not apologize for mislocating the leak, nor did he offer any recompense for his mistake. I have a hole in the concrete that now needs to be patched due to his negligence. He should have refunded my money. Luckily, I sought a second opinion. This leak detector found the location of the leak in 30 minutes. He said that it is impossible to detect two leaks and said Bob's equipment is not state-of-the-art. Now, the ONE leak is fixed, not anywhere near the original location Bob indicated. And, I've got two holes in the concrete to patch. Don't hire this guy. He's unprofessional, doesn't have good equipment, and won't reimburse for any mistakes made. read more

Bob was great. Had a problem with low water pressure and Bob was able to trouble shoot and fix the issue. Bob also installed a leaf canister which will greatly decrease the amount of debris the pool sweep sucks into your filter system. Bob went step by step with what he was fixing so there were no surprises. Very polite and gave a lot of great tips on how to maintain your pool.
