What a great spot on the river . The wait staff was superb and friendly . The food was phenomenal ! You cant go wrong with this restaurant.

Fabulous! This unassuming waterfront restaurant far exceed our expectations! We were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess and sat at a very cute and busy bar with a view of the river. Despite being slammed, the bartender was attentive and an all-around nice guy. We started with some summer cocktails and a perfectly executed order of lobster arancini rice balls in a dill cream sauce. Perfection! This was followed by local wine, a scallop pasta dish and crab encrusted halibut in a sweet chili sauce. Delicious! Portions were perfect. I wish we had room for dessert. The cakes looked amazing! Great food and service, but they don't know how to take reservations. Our reservation was for 5:30, but they wrote it down as 5:00pm. They gave up our table and we had to sit at the bar. However, they were apologetic and comp'ed our drinks. They did the best to make the bad situation into a better one. Great menu. Maple Crest Duck was cooked perfectly and delicous, but tiny portion. I could have eaten two portions. It was not very filling. Sweet potato fries were good. Cocktails were delicious too. The disappointing part is they only have cake for dessert. Boring!!! Small restaurant, but bartender was friendly and on top of everything. Wish he wore a mask. . I would go back, but recommend in calling the day before to confirm reservation. read more

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is the food it really quite good. The reason I did not give more positive feedback is everything else was truly disappointing. I called ahead to see how the long the wait was and was told there was immediate availability and the bar was also available. Arrived 5 minutes later. Small seating area but three tables available (2 top & a couple 4 tops). The hostess said there bar was open the tables were not available. Sat at bar and was greeted buy bartender but waited for 15-20 minutes to even be approached for drinks or meal. While sitting there another table opened up and a couple was sat next to my girlfriend and I at the bar. After 15 minutes the hostess came up to couple seated after us and said a table was now available since people did not show up. Even though 3 other tables were open. We were able to order drinks and dinner around 25 minutes after being seated. I ordered the Salmon piccata and my girlfriend had the crab encrusted Halibut. Her meal was very tasty and well presented. Mine was tasty but the construction did not work. Salmon with piccata sauce over a layer of mashed potatoes that was over the top of mixed green salad. Salad was wilted and did not mix well with mashed potatoes and the salmon. The most disappointing aspect of this visit is it didn't have to happen. Open tables while people are sitting at a bar and then being passed up by a rude host staff is unacceptable for a location that charges as much and aspires to be high end dining in a small community. We won't bother to come back but hopefully you have better luck. read more

We got confused when we arrived. It looked all boarded up but there were people inside. Turns out we were just too early. It hadn't opened up yet. The place is tiny. We didn't know they took reservations . We had just been craving seafood and looked on Yelp for restaurant recommendations. This place had a 4 1/2 star rating so we thought we would try it. They worked us in and sat us at a very small but gorgeous table next to the windows with a River front view. It was delightful. We ordered the Arroz with seafood bowl soup, seared Ahi Tuna and Caprise salad. When they arrived, the plates were so artistic that we took pictures. The food was exquisite and very filling but we were able to squeeze in a Tres Leches cake slice for dessert. Yummy ! The service was excellent as well. We greatly enjoyed our dining experience! We walked in on a cold Wednesday night and quickly fell in love with this place. The ambiance right on the water was perfection. Moody, intimate, cozy, and excellent classic music. We anticipated sitting at the bar, but the woman who greeted us offered the large wooden 6-top in the back. It was the perfect little nook. Five stars for both of our entrees -- Chimichurri Steak topped with sweet potato fries and the Seafood Pasta. Would order both again. Christina was a delightful server. The only potential negative, which we're thankful never ended up happening, was that the woman at the front mentioned she would ask us to move places if she had a large party walk-in. On a busy Saturday you'll see a line forming just before 3 PM when they open. And there will be a steady wait until they close at 9 PM. There's a reason for this. The food and service here are impeccable. And not in a fancy unapproachable way. It's just beautifully prepared dishes, cocktails and desserts with great service. Jordan the host is patient and truly tries to accommodate all of the walk-up. If I hadn't been so busy savoring every bite of my meal I would've taken a picture. But that didn't happen (I know, bad Yelper!). Dinner: My husband had the salmon that was lightly seared. It was cooked to perfection. I had a seafood stew that was served over rice that was mildly spicy with hints of coconut milk. Honestly one of my favorite things I've ever had. Also had a side Caesar salad which I generally avoid because they are usually so gloppy. But this one was perfect. Cocktails: We had a good fortune of sitting at the bar so talking to our friendly bartender she made some lovely recommendations. Both for cocktails and for wine. My husband had a tequila drink that was made with grapefruit and a strawberry shrub. I had a gin flip made with an egg white. So velvety. Then a glass of Albarino that was perfect with my seafood Dessert: I am not generally a dessert person. But it was my birthday so I felt like I might as well. Then I saw the lineup of cakes. Wow! Four different cakes to choose from a chocolate, a berry and white chocolate cake, carrot cake and a tres leches cake. We went for the last one and there was no regrets! read more

This was a nice find! I think it like is a step above a lot of the other restaurants in the area. The restaurant is small and reservations take up all of the tables. Eating at the bar was fine - a little awkward (the stools aren't quite tall enough for comfortable eating). The entrees were good (it's worth noting that the bar for food on the Oregon coast is really low) and the cake was excellent. Truthfully, between the food and the ambiance, the prices are too high. The hostess seemed a little annoyed that we were there and bartender left us to our own devices more than we would have appreciated (we didn't figure out what the special was until after we ordered). The food came out really quickly, which is never a great sign. I think we felt a little profiled - like we didn't look like we were going to spend enough money to be worth the seats and we were kind of rushed and ignored. But, the food was decent and we probably would go back if we were in the area. read more

Over a rainy weekend in April checking out the coast, we had the wonderful, great fortune of having dinner at the Waterfront Depot Restaurant. We were able to sit outside, even though the weather was less than ideal (rainy and a bit cold), with an excellent radiant outdoor heater right next to us. Our server was wonderful and responsive and the food from apps to dessert was fantastic!!! read more

I called for a family of 5 reservation, they were able to squeeze us in (which I was shocked; I had been told by locals it would be near impossible) The Inside Atmosphere was definitely friendly with great views of the riverfront and bridge. Took a few days to get reservations to eat here. Quaint little restaurant on a body of water, not the ocean. Drinks before dinner were amazing. The steak was awful, scallops good, but only got 2 small ones with my surf and turf. Steak was also tiny, prob 4-6 ounces. Calamari was awful also. Waiter was great. Let's start with the service. Jesse and the chef went above and beyond to meet our needs. That was so deeply appreciated! Then there's the food! Hubby had the Grilled Scallops Pasta. First of all, the scallops were larger than we're used to seeing. He said, multiple times, how good the dish was. I had the Clam Linguine. I was shocked at the number of clams included in the dish; easily two dozen. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the wine sauce was delectable. I finished every last morsel and drop of the dish! BTW, if you want to ensure you're able to eat at Waterfront Depot, I recommend you make reservations at least a week in advance during the summer season. They do have a full service bar and maintain a few tables for walk-ins but I recommend not taking a chance. read more

Absolutely fabulous. After a solid year of quarantine we are finally vaccinated and ready to enjoy the finer things of life. No better way to celebrate our return to normal than the amazing lunch we had today at Waterfront Depot. The view was maybe the best we've experienced from a restaurant table in years. We had an enjoyable Valentine's Day dinner here. I ordered the scallops and my husband had the salmon. The scallops were great and the pasta they came with was not amazing but pretty good. They also have a really good caesar salad, although I feel like $9 is a little high for a starter size caesar. My only complaint is that the bread that came with my entree tasted a little bit stale. When our server finally acknowledged us after 25min, my husband said "Oh no, it's her again" It took 75 min from the time we placed our entree order until we received our food without any explanation or apologies. My crab-encrusted halibut tasted like it had been sitting under heat lamps for quite some time. And there was no crab, unlike the table next to us which had ordered the same. We have been coming here for 10years. And when you are paying over $100 for a meal for 2 people, the service should reflect that. I feel badly since it was my husband's birthday and I wanted to make it special. Sadly, that was not the case. We will not be back! read more

Outstanding! We couldn't get reservations so showed up right at 3. It took maybe 10 minutes (max) to get us seated. We had a cute little patio table right by the heater with a river views. It was perfect. The waitress was prompt and got our drink and food order taken and put in quickly. The wait for food wasn't long. We were probably one of the first tables to get our orders in. We both order the crab encrusted halibut, with yokun gold potatoes. It was phenomenal. It was served with a side salad, I believe Caesar. My only minor recommendation is getting one sweeter white wine on the menu. But the Riesling paired fine. When I come back to Florence, it will be a must to return. read more

I was really excited to go here with my son. We were visiting the coast for a mom/son special day, and wanted a special place to go to dinner. Because we didn't make reservations, we sat at the bar. It took quite a while to get acknowledged, a menu and initial drink order taken (just water and iced tea). We waits almost 30 minutes to have the bartender come take our order. Once we ordered, it took almost another hour to get our food. We had to ask for bread, and 4 very small "cubes of bread" were brought to us. Once our food arrived finally, my son's chicken Parmesan was good. Large portion and he enjoyed it. My chimichuri steak was overcooked, cut up in thick slices and full of fat and gristle. I spit out at least 75% of it, as I couldn't stomach the gristle. It was in a massive bed of corn and beans, which I wasn't a fan of either. I would not order that steak again. Upside is their iced tea was fresh-brewed, so they get an extra star for that! read more

A really quaint little place. You should make reservations as they have few tables and fill up fast. Our waitress (Kristine) was perfect. Always available but not hovering. I chose to get three appetizers for my meal and of course my husband shared them as well. The mussels/ clams appetizer was very tasty however there was some sand grit in the shells. The lamb rib-lets with a dipping sauce were perfectly cooked and the sauce so delicious. The crab stuffed mushrooms were pretty bland, but not terrible. My husband ordered clams and linguini and it was good but not over the top. We saved room for dessert (carrot cake) and coffee which were both delicious. I hate to write that this is the best option in town because I don't want it any harder to get in. BUT it's the best gig in town. Reservations as soon as you know you're going. Bar seats are come as you are but even then it may be a 2 hr wait. Best for in town. Best bartenders for sure. Do not come here as I don't want you to take my seat! read more

We had a short 15 minute wait and got a super private spot right under a heat lamp.
