It's a bar, next to a liquor store with a really skilled chef. The kitchen puts out some great food. Your servers are also the bartenders, some times they're slow or inattentive but their personalities make up for it. I like their wings, and appreciate that they don't bread them. Very sandwich Hubs has gotten he's loved. Last week I got the chicken tacos on corn tortillas, whoa they were hot and spicy. And the Brussels sprouts are the awesome, you may not like Brussels Sprouts but these are worth getting. Oh,I really enjoy getting them at the Waterman. The pineapple Upside Down cake is a nostalgic but wonderful cake, with the taste that your grandmother would have made. I love getting it there, but wish they'd add marischino cherries to it. I'd say it's a locals place. It's really loud and sometimes the tables haven't been wiped clean, remember it's a bar. A bar with an awesome kitchen. read more

Completely doable sports bar in Edgewater. The happy hour special is almost bar none: BOGO until 6:30 (and you can bring the chips back at any time for free drinks!). Though I will admit that the service at times is not great. From what I've had, the food is pretty average, but seriously avoid the pizza. You will want to try the pizza with how cheap it is, but it is like the gross, microwavable stuff that you somehow ate way too many pieces of as a child. Otherwise, however, other food options are fine. Good to watch games here. read more

I really like this place. There different food and appetizer specials everyday and the service is always friendly. It's probably the least expensive place to get a pint of Yuengling in the Annapolis area. My favorite thing to do at Waterman's is play yahtzee or scrabble at the table- especially on Sunday because Wanda works that day! The Ruebens are outstanding, and yes, you can walk right through the saloon doors to Londontown Liquors, which also has good deals. read more

Don't believe anything you read from "manager" describing food. A year ago food was great with "inventive" menu. No longer. Food from a frozen bag I guess. When we asked waiter what happened to menu, we were told they had a new food distributor. I think a new owner. Now a every basic menu designed for those who are there to drink as opposed to grab a good lunch with a beer or bloody mary. read more

I have been here 5 times in a handful of months. 3 times I have had an empty glass while sitting at the bar for over 5 minutes. 2 times I have seen amazing active service. Once being from a bar tender that only works two nights a week. Seems like they do take care of the clients they know however. A somewhat upper scale neighborhood pub, the atmosphere is inviting and people are generally friendly. The real plus here are the bartenders. They are friendly and engaging. The beer selection is varied but limited and food on the menu is good, but only 4 stars because it's mostly just bar food. Add a couple more interesting entrees and this place is a 5 star for me. Came in around 530, wasn't crowded. Very nice atmosphere and Very friendly staff. I ordered the Blackened Catfish Soft Tacos and I was a little surprised how Little they were! From a Past review about their Tacos I see this is their Policy. They looked like they should have been on the Kids menu....as an appetiser. No Sides included like other restaurants, so what ever you add will be 30% more than any other place you've had Fish Tacos at. The Taste was ok (Nothing to brag about), but good Lord....Do Not come in hungry! The comment from the Owner/Manager about this business says its an "Upscale Grub Pub"......Maybe the owner should visit other Locations so they can get an Idea of what they think is "Upscale".....Unless their only comparison is WaWa.....But even their Food is way better. It really is a Shame when you have a healthy popular dish like this that people love, and just about the easiest thing to make, and you have a great atmosphere, but your Cooks and Food routinely sabotage your business. read more

Based upon the great reviews, we gave this a try for lunch on Saturday. It wasn't the fact that there was only one combined bartender/waiter that was the issue because he did a good job..... it was the fact that I spent $28 for lunch for one person in Edgewater, Md. Really? This is DC prices!! For full disclosure, I had the Reuben sandwich and 2 Blue-Moon beers and I gave $4 tip. My friend had a craft beer from Dover that was $7.35 for about 8 oz and the crab vegetable soup which despite the frozen vegetables was very good in her opinion. Her fried green tomatoes were awful and she sent them back and got the Reuben. Her second beer was comped - but her bill with tip was also $28. The food was very good all around but I won't go back without taking advantage of one of their specials. A Saturday lunch in Edgewater shouldn't cost more that $15 including tip - right? read more

Watermans has great drink specials, all the staff are very humble and somewhere you can drink early and finish early. Only complaints is the size of the place, and that they are only open until midnight. Definitely a good place to have a nice bowl of cream of crab soup too, one of my favorites. read more

We tried them on a Groupon and had such a good experience that we've been back many times since. They have a wonderful French toast special for $6.95. Upscale reasonably-priced pub food in the evenings. Free popcorn and amazing drink specials. Don't worry about the fact that it's attached to a liquor store - it has a homey and friendly vibe. The ONLY reason it's getting only 3 stars is because of the bartender/waitress they have on Sundays - I think her name is Wanda. She is terrible and ruins it for us. Horrendous service. Just had the Jerk Chicken Pita from Waterman's Tavern. MAN what an AWESOME sandwich. Waterman's is a local place in my neighborhood and i just really love trying the different stuff they put on their menu. They are always adding new stuff which is great to keep people like me coming back to try the latest. They have great specials every night, friendly staff, big screen tvs and live music some nights. They also have a package good store in case you need to pick up some beer or wine to take home with your dinner. This is just a really great and friendly neighborhood restaurant and bar. read more

This place looks like a dive-- attached to a liquor store, skimpy sailor girl on their sign-- but the food is surprisingly good! It's very close to my house, so I've been here quite a few times, at many different times of day. I've had the crab dip, the mussels, a burger, several of the soups, and more; and I even went once on their lobster special night (Wednesdays, I think). I've honestly never had anything bad. The portions and prices are reasonable. It's a nice local place to go for dinner, late night food or just drinks; and the brunch is good, too. As far as drinks go, they have a good craft beer list, and the crushes are amazing and made with fresh squeezed juice. The service here is a little hit-or-miss, although it's generally good. They also have a lot of 2-for-1 specials on craft beer and rail drinks. You get a token that you can in theory cash in for a free one later. This is great (and they seem to be doing this promotion pretty much every time I'm there!), but I often forget to bring my tokens back and now I have quite a large stash of them at home! They don't make it super clear when you are supposed to use them (when you order? when the drink comes? when you pay?), and the awkwardness of this sometimes prevents me from using them even when I remember to bring them. The reasons for 4 stars instead of 5: 1) the food is good, not mind-blowing; and 2) there is something a little off about the set-up of this place. There's NO separation between the dining area and the bar area, which in theory is fine, but the acoustics are just terrible. This means that if it's crowded with bar traffic, it is so unbelievably loud everywhere in the place! This is majorly annoying depending on when you go. For example, if you go for dinner on a Friday evening at like 8, If you are sitting at a booth eating, there are lots of people there at the bar area, and you absolutely cannot hear conversation at your table. If you are there at a time when the bar isn't full of drunk people, or you come just for drinks and you are one of those drunk people, not such a problem. But I do NOT recommend coming here at a busy bar time just to chat with friends and have dinner. read more

First of all, I really like their combination system of pub and deli. I wanted carry out and it was super easy to order items from both sides-they just sent the order over via computer. I got the Smokehouse Panini from the deli. There was some confusion about the ingredients. The very eager and friendly new employee (her first day) pulled out the chicken lunch meat from the bin. (the chalkboard and the menu describe it as house smoked chicken) But then the owner (?) came over and had her switch it to the chicken salad. When I asked about it they said that they smoke their own chicken on the premises. While I was not expecting to have chicken salad on the sandwich, I was nicely surprised at how it bumped up the flavor profile with the celery, onion and mayo included. I watched another employee make the honey mustard sauce right there and it added just the right amount of zing. It was a delicious sandwich. I also ordered a number of sides from the restaurant area. The garden salad was plentiful and fresh, the cole slaw (also made there) was quite good and unique with just a hint of spice, but the roasted vegetables while obviously fresh was a bit disappointing as it was pretty much just green beans. Out of all of this great food, the topper was most definitely the Roasted Tomato Corn Crab Chowder. This now ranks as one of my top 3 soups of all time--right up there with the all night cooking French Onion soup from Petite Louis in Baltimore and the gorgeous cantaloupe soup from Les Folies. SUPER KUDOS--I do love me a great soup!!! I would describe this place as a neighborhood dive with chef quality food. Everyone there was welcoming and I felt immediately comfortable chatting and asking about their various dishes. The food came out amazingly fast and the soup and sandwich were still hot when I arrived home some 20 minutes later. If I lived closer, I would eat there every week. That being said, it is worth a special trip down to Edgewater regularly especially since I'm not sure I can live now without that soup more than a few days... read more

Just tried this place tonight and was VERY pleased with the food. I ordered the Fish Tacos and they were excellent ! First let me say that they use fresh rockfish caught daily and you can tell. I ordered them blackened with 1 hard shell and 1 soft shell. I also tried the cream of mushroom soup and it too was incredible. I will definitely be going back. Small but very welcoming place to grab a bit to eat or have a few drinks. The friendly environment provides a great social time. You can request board games that can be played at your table. They also have golden tee, mega touch screens, keno, and race track. I would recommend you checking the specials before you go. Normally they have great deals. I know Saturdays are $1 Natural light bottles all day long :) Food is good as well. My favorite is the rocko tacos (rockfish tacos). read more

Watermans has the best brunch in town. On Sunday's they have bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's if you get breakfast. During the week they have really good drink specials. It can get packed pretty easily on the weekends and busy nights, but I still love coming here. All of the bartenders are really friendly and personable. I made the mistake of stopping by after a Dr. appointment in the area. 11:00 in the afternoon. Upon arriving there were only 4 men at the bar. One man was extremely rude and arrogant. Trying to talk to me and saying off the wall comments. The other made excuses for him saying he is drinking too much. He was telling me what to order and just more BS. After several minutes I was tempted to leave, but he finished his beer and made another derogatory comment to me and then left. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken . It was very good. The bartender was extremely nice and friendly. What should of happened didn't. The manager or bartender should of asked the man who was being rude to stop or leave. Unfortunately this was my first visit. A few other regulars showed up and heard about the incident. Asking me to not judge. Stating it's a nice neighborhood bar. I may consider a return visit. Hopefully I will have a better experience. read more

Living in Annapolis, there aren't many nearby places where you can get a beer for under $5. I came across this place's facebook page a few weeks ago and went to visit. On Sundays, they have $7 pitchers of Yuengling and $5 burgers. They also have good specials on other days, check out the facebook page for the current list. The ambiance isn't great and it's connected to a liquor store (from the inside), but you can beat the prices. The burger was pretty good but the fries were delicious. Check it out if you're in the mood for some beer and but don't want to go broke in downtown Annapolis. read more

Horrible service! Went on a Sunday afternoon. There were 3 people at the bar and a group of about 12 guys at a table. We could not get service from the 2 female bartenders/servers. My friend and I were frequent patrons of the Waterman's Tavern -- arrived at 5:30 this evening and started having a few HH priced beers. Even ordered 2 apps to go with the ice cold beer. After awhile, ordered some carry out to take home ... so far so good ... my friend finally gets the attention of the waitress (who has been texting and doing other tasks besides waiting on the patrons) and ask for 2 more beers, she immediately snaps - HH is over it is 7:03. So my friend says, my phone shows 7:00 ... she says she has to go by the clock on the wall... then says "if you don't like it, you can go somewhere else". Just like that the entire HH experience went to the toilet. Then another bartender walks up and we try to tell him what just happened. He says "I didn't hear her say 'take your bus elsewhere' and says if it is close to 7, he will normally honor the HH price. As he should. We do get 2 more beers and as we are trying to figure out what just happened -- my friend says cancel the food order, Bill comes to $21, I leave $25. As we are finishing our last beer, the waitress comes back and snips "we aren't keeping you here, you can leave whenever you want". DONE and DONE. We pick up the change that was on the bar and we walked out. A comment left on their FB site was immediately deleted. Go elsewhere. Yelp -- why has my original review been deleted? read more

I love this place. You might not think twice about trying it, but the food is good, and the best part is that it is CONSISTENTLY good. I've been going here for lunch on Fridays for a couple of years and it never disappoints. The service is welcoming - Mike is the bestest, go for lunch on Fridays and he's there. I love that they always have a few very good craft beers on tap that rotate frequently (and Mike is super knowledgeable on the beer) and there's a mug club for good pricing on said craft beers. Since they are affiliated with the liquor store next door which has a great beer selection they have a great bottled beer list in the restaurant too. They have internet trivia and board games, so it's a nice place to sit around and enjoy a beer or several while hanging out with friends. If you save your lunch receipt you can get a discount in the liquor store! At happy hour it tends to get busy and loud, but they have $3 food specials which is pretty sweet. If you've been intimidated to try this place, go at lunchtime to try their delicious food in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. read more
