Honestly, You would be better off just renting a house for the price because the amenities are not worth it in this specific case. The food was mid but at arena prices. 20$ for a beer, 24$ for a burger, 4$ for an iced tea.. after the first day we just went into town for food. It ended up being much better economically and quality wise. The beach behind the resort is nothing remarkable. In fact it's sloped and awkwardly angled. The surrounding area itself is immaculate and lush with beauty and there are loads of things to do. It's definitely a family place and not an anything else kind of place so don't get any ideas. Kind of boring honestly, not really much going on. You really do have to make your own adventures. The complimentary bikes you can check out are all falling apart. The walls were so thin I could hear the conversations of the people in the room next to me. The power went out multiple times the day I was checking out which complicated things further including trying to get WiFi as well as the fact that they charged me for a latte that I never ordered and they had to remove it from my final bill. Good thing I checked. I am talking specifically about the resort and not the area itself. Parking was a free for all and there is no valet. If you leave your spot during the day good luck trying to get another one. If this place put some TLC into it they could turn it around very quickly.

It is a good place to just hang out if it is included with your beach rental. They also have concerts here on Thursday nights. The concerts are well attended, and they have have alcoholic drinks available. Water is available for free. The bottom line is if you are in Avon and are able to go here for a swim or socializing in concert nights it is a great option.

That said, the property is showing its age. The units still have outdated Dish TV service, and the curtains are faded and dated. Most of the furniture is cloth and overdue for replacement. The area rugs are also a concern--they seem a little smelly and retain sand, which makes them feel less than clean. Maintenance and management have noticeably declined. It's frustratingly hard to get in touch with someone when you need assistance. In short, you're paying for the location and ocean access, but the interiors and upkeep need serious attention. With some investment in updates and better guest service, it could return to being a top-tier beach property.

The continental breakfast is thoughtfully provided with fresh fruit salad and an array of cereal, bread and other options. They also have plenty of coffee and a tea station that I particularly loved with an array of options and even teapots on hand. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of blooming flowers and green space to enjoy yourself and hang out. We particularly liked the very friendly koi in the koi pond which came over to say hi when we approached.

There are also two good restaurants right across the street where you can avoid having to drive for a couple days. My advice to the hotel is to out the chairs away in the courtyard after 10 pm so you don't have parties forming in area that allows trapping conversations and keeping people awake. Hopefully that has been straightened out with my bill when I check out. There was an issue with the elevator the one morning as the employee said it wasn't working. This other lady who looked like a manager, was asking other guests about the elevator. When I told her that is your employee with the supply cart and he's been standing at the elevator and it's not working. She's responded to me saying "I don't know him. I don't know what's going on. I don't know about another elevator. I'm new here. This is my first day." Really? You start your first day on Easter Sunday and you had no training? There is another elevator, but apparently that's been out of order for many months. My only complaint was the shower. It was very difficult to route the water from the faucet up to the showerhead and the water was only lukewarm. If we had stayed longer, we would have asked for a different room because of that. We could tell the hotel has been updated within the last few years. It wasn't faded decor, but had a clean, classy vibe. Not a high-end resort hotel, but certainly worth the price and it's conveniently located.

We especially enjoyed having our own kitchen and living room so we could make breakfast and sip coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean. The pool and hot tub were wonderful too, and everything around the property was very well maintained. Lighthouse View was the perfect choice for a relaxing, romantic getaway. The room was very very clean and the bed was comfortable. Although the balconies are not private they still offer a sense of privacy with beautiful views. All rooms have nice Adirondack chairs and tables not the uncomfortable cheap plastic stuff like some other places. Check in and check out was incredibly easy. Swimming pool was nice and clean and so was the hot tub. Has vending machine and ice,and a grill. Although hotel is not wheel chair friendly. We are definitely looking forward to coming back later in the year and bring the whole family. The beach was beautiful and clean. And nice restaurants and stores in walking distance . Very wonderful place for couples or the whole family!!
