We came here after Christmas tree cutting, horrible experience, wouldnt recommend, never coming back again and we even spoke to the manger and she was VERY rude -we were a party of 10 , after numerous times kept asking where 3 of our plates were they kept saying it's on the way, after 1 entire hour later of waiting (the only other party in here got their food and we were still waiting... the waitress came over and asked what we ordered again. Nice casual atmosphere. Ordered a cabernet, they were out so i had merlot instead. We ordered calamari to share. Our meals came out first. Kitchen forgot to make our appetizer. Pizza and roast beef sandwich were great. Waitress didnt ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. We heard another couple tell their waitress the same thing, forgotten appetizers. The food at The Waters Edge, Belvidere, NJ is truly outstanding. Recent addition of a new chef made good food even better. BBQ brisket some of the best I've had. Varied menu: salad w/ salmon excellent, pork sliders delicious, chicken dishes very good And seasonal soups are sensational. read more

Do yourself a favor and drive a few more miles up the road to Hunters Lodge, better food and better service. The food at waters edge is good but statistically you will only actuly receive your food 1 out of 3 times you visit. I mean the service is truly truly terrible. They weren't even super busy. They didnt even have enough menus for everyone at our table, not even close... they're paper menus! Print more! Pros: Food:I've had the Panko crusted chicken 3 times and the pizza once. Both were excellent. The kitchen is an open air kitchen and the young female chef is visible and I've never seen her stressed. I'm impressed. She works hard all night and remains calm. Cons:Service all 4 times unfortunately was challenging (appetizers and entrees came out same time, hard to find our server to refill water, one meal came out much later than the others), but I'm chalking this all up to a fairly new place and hoping that improves with time. They have a nice deck outside that overlooks a small river. The bar is nice as well. We will definitely be back. read more

We arrived around 5:30PM on a Saturday. The restaurant was about 1/3 full. Brian, our server, promptly appeared at our table and took our drink orders while we studied the menu (interesting sandwich selections, including smoked pork loin and smoked roast beef). He soon returned with the sodas, but told us the mixed drinks were on hold until the bartender returned from across the street. WTH? An annoying 10-15 minute delay. One of our party ordered a individual pizza, which appeared well before our sandwiches. Again, an unexpected delay, since there were two cooks visible in the kitchen and the dining room wasn't that full. The food was excellent and warrants a return visit. But a restaurant is built on service. Poor management will kill off this promising place if they don't pay more attention. read more

What a great place to enjoy amazing pizza on the deck! We really enjoyed our evening with friends for dinner , burgers were juicy flavorful and delicious, meatballs were like Nonna made them and both personal pizzas were great! Staffing shortage. okay. Be patient. okay. "if you can't be patient, please reconsider your dining options" - REALLY?? That's some attitude! and yes, okay...after this experience I have reconsidered and will NOT be back anytime soon. Waitress was quite friendly. Wednesday 2pm for a late lunch. Food order taken at ~2:10. 2 rounds of drinks and still no food at 3:05. Busy??? No. Table of 6 (already had apps when we were seated), 2 other parties of 2...and us. 3 meatball app special. ITS A SPECIAL!! Get it out to the table!!!! But no. Order of potato skins: dry. wayyyyy over cooked. too hard to bite. Our 2nd party ordered the crispy catfish. It was very good, but the larger sections were not really cooked - little gelatin-ish still. Rest was fresh tasty and satisfying. 45 seconds more on the cook would have worked great. So, the waitress brought us a (3rd) round on her because of the delay..3 drinks in an hour...not really a good response to this bad display of business. Management needs to be attentive during these trying times if they expect the paying public to be patient. read more

Visited for the 1st time tonight. Very nice deck out back with view of the water made for very pleasant dining experience. Had read reviews previously before going and went with the clams for an appy (as others suggested). I wasn't a fan (found them tough and tasteless) but my husband loved them....go figure. We both had burgers: Bacon, Brie and Fig Jam for me and Onion Soup Burger for my husband. We both loved our burgers and they were accompanied with a generous portion of delicious fries. We had to wait over an hour to finally get our food....and waitress never once came over to have an explanation or say she would go check on our food until we finally asked where it was! When food did come out....server gave another person in our party my pork sandwich. The person didn't realize it and started eating it....and by time I got my food....saw it was roast beef and I don't eat that. And shouldn't have to....wasn't what I ordered. Said something to waitress she went to kitchen....came back out and said it was made and brought out and that it was our fault! Since when is it customers fault when server brings food out and says it is beef with sauce on it....and gives it to person who ordered that...he gave it to wrong person! He didn't know what he even was bringing out! So....after over an hour of waiting for food...ate French fries. Not sure why they couldn't have made another pork sandwich...or give a percentage off bill....something for the mistake they made! Oh well....will be a long time before going back. They did a great job transforming the restaurant but the food has been mediocre at best. First visit was shortly after they opened. Service was fine but food was saturated in grease. Okay, they have to work out the kinks. Gave it another shot a couple of months later on a Friday evening. Ordered a simple burger which was half the size from the first visit. Well it wasn't greasy for sure, but rather cooked to death. The fries, which were great the first time, were now hard and over cooked as well, almost as if they were reheated. The smoked roast beef sandwich was also overdone. There are so few places to eat in this area. We were hopeful this was going to be a favorite, but they really need some cooks that know what they're doing! It's pretty simple food to mess up. I think it will be awhile before we forget what it was like and end up going again. read more

The waitress was a great person but completely uninformed. We ordered the clams for an appetizer and some were closed, which could mean they're undercooked or dead and could make you very sick, and the bread was served inside the clam pot so it was a slimy mess from being steamed. We were unhappy, so we chose not to order dinner, and the manager/owner never interacted with us once. He was standing there when we left and never even said goodbye, let alone thought to ask how our visit was. I think the drinks were good, but that's not enough to impress a patron. Place has potential but just messes it up time and time again. Been there a few times and only received my food once because I got fed up with waiting and left. The last time we went, I ordered fish tacos and clams as an app. They came back about 15 minutes later and said were out if clams, not for nothing, if I order an app, I should be finishing them up after 15 minutes of ordering, not be just getting told they're out. Fine. I said just take it off the check I'll wait for the entrees. 45 minutes goes by.... The server comes out and says they're out of fish tacos.... like I said earlier, an hour after ordering I should be finishing up my entree, not just be getting told there out. Unorganised. I said fine just get me a burger and I mean shit, they screwed up the first two things, might as well go three for three. After waiting another 20 minutes, we decided to leave cash for our drinks and the apps that did come out and walk out. After everything, multiple complaints to our server, not a manager or owner was in sight. Completely unprofessional. The bar also only seats about 10-12 so if there is more than 3-4 cars in the driveway just go get pizza or drive an extra 10 minutes to another spot and save yourself some time because there is either going to be no spots at the bar or too many people for the restaurant staff to handle. read more

Great Great Great location on the Delaware River. Deck out back couldn't be nicer for relaxing, hearing the river roll by and enjoy good company. Why only 2 stars you ask? The food and customer care. Drinks: I was served a room temp bottle of beer (and admitted to knowing it wasn't cold when I complained), served peach (white) sangria that tasted like sugar water with peaches. Now lunch: 1)special: cheese steak fries (explained as - everything that goes on a regular cheese steak sandwich, but served over fries instead of on a roll). Well, 3-4 medium bites of steak and what? no more beef on the plate. Peppers were mush. Fries tasted greasy/rancid - not edible. 2) chipotle, guac, bacon burger: ordered medium rare - no pink to be seen when served, but JUICY, so, okay. But, OH my, where is the spiciness??where is the chipotle? 2 bites in, here comes the cook out of the kitchen with a side dish of chipotle sauce - oh my gosh, I forgot to put the chipotle on your burger. WHAT???? nobody else is in the restaurant having food, what else could you be doing ? To be fair, they took the warm beer off the check and my husband drank the peach sugar water. Only going back for drinks in the future and that's because of the river and deck! read more
