    Yum nuah( beef salad!
    Sameth P.

We wanted to give this restaurant a try. After reading the numerous review we finally ordered. We ordered pineapple fried rice, tom yam seafood, yum nuah( beef salad) and pad see-eww. The beef was very tough and the sauce that was on it was strange. I've had this salad at other Thai restaurant and it was so much better. I really tried to finished it but couldn't bring myself to because it was a strange flavor I can't describe. I threw it out. Tom Yum tasted like I was eating dessert, yes it was that sweet. I took one spoonful and threw the rest out. Pad See-eww( fried rice noodles) was also sweet. Tried the pineapple fried rice and would not ever order it again, so much for being adventurous. Overall, we did not like any of the food we order. Majority of the food ended up in the trash. It was not good at all. What a waste of money! Would never order again as I don't want to waste money on food that looks good but does not taste good.

Oh. My. Goodness. Best Pad Thai I've ever had!!!!! (and at a great price, ~$9) The restaurant is cute and cozy- it wasn't too crowded when we went (7pm, Saturday) but I could see how it could quickly get that way. I'd call ahead just in case (they take reservations). Our party of 4 was attended to quickly and the meals took a bit of time- but do remember that all their dishes are made from scratch and as the menu says "time is an ally". They take the time to properly prepare all of their dishes, and let me tell you it is worth the wait!!! It's BYOB which is an added touch :)

    Fresh spring rolls and shrimp

What a delight. We stumbled upon this place as a result of getting lost, being very hungry, and wanting to sit outside in the sun on a beautiful May day. My hubby noticed a small sign that said outdoor seating so we hung a left into Rim Nahm. At first sight, it's small and dim. Owner says it gets busy around 7pm for takeout orders. These people have probably never seen the back deck. Nestled past the indoor dining area on an iron deck is a wrap around balcony (as narrow as a firescape). At the far end overlooking the water and boats is one small iron table and two chairs. A perfect, exclusive little spot perfect for our Sunday lunch. We ordered pad see eew, fresh spring rolls, and shrimp rolls. We drank soda water and lemon. Affordable, fresh, and yummy. Happy to return.

Once inside, it's cozy, classy and impressively clean to the eye! Service was excellent - water glasses were kept full at all times. I ordered Pad Thai with crispy chicken and an order of fresh rolls. The fresh roll sauce was different from any I've ever had. Sort of a more peanut hoisin-like feel as opposed to the lighter peanut dressing. I loved it. The server asked how spicy we wanted our dishes, using a level of 1-5. Most said 2 but I went for 4 because no place ever makes it with enough of a kick when I ask for spicy. Well my 4 knocked my socks off. Only later did we find out that both servers can't even eat at a level 4!! That would have been grrrrreat to know ahead of time! Hahaaaa but it was delicious and I'd probably be silly enough to say "4" again! Prices were on par with other good Thai restaurants. We will definitely be back!

I got my 'usual' order from when it was the prior ownership/management and have to say I was less than impressed. I ordered spring rolls which have a large portion size (6 large rolls) which are much larger than the prior owners but the taste is just mainly of cabbage and oil. Not much flavor and they seemed to be a little dense/soggy with oil. The crab rangoons were made with imitation crab meat and had curry, not really any crab flavor. They seemed to use a thin premade wrapper. I also got pad thai which was okay. It was a bit on the mushy side. Flavor was okay but it just didn't seem to have the same fresh, clean quality as prior recipe. Tasted similar to a lot of other thai restaurants, which may not be a bad thing I guess. Finally I ordered drunken noodles for lunch the next day. These did not come spicy at all but instead came with a chili sauce on the side. The noodles themselves were really thick and gummy and bunched up (kind of a squareish size) rather than long ribbons. There was just almost no flavor to this dish and the flavor was just fish sauce or something similar. No complexity or layers of flavor. Very one dimensional. Overall, for the higher price it was relatively disappointing.

This dish tasted exactly how I remembered it in some of my favorite Bangkok restaurants that I've been to over the years. I've been to SE Asia many times over the years and will keep going back because of the WOW factor. So, details... the noodles are cooked perfectly. It's soft, but still has a slight crunch to it. The tamarind flavor is bold, but not overpowering. The peanuts, sprouts, chives and all the other ingredients were in the perfect proportion. The shrimp is fresh, crispy externally and tender when you bite down on it. This is by far the best Shrimp Pad Thai that I've had in Rhode Island. If anyone has another suggestion, then please let me hear it! The Thai Iced coffee was also BOMB! A nice caffeine jolt, creamy and not overwhelmingly sweet. At first glance, you don't see much from Elmwood Ave, but veer to the right and everything opens up on the left, with a parking lot in the back. Ornate statues lead you to the entrance, and once inside you are instantly greeted with bold colors and beautiful art everywhere. I wanted to take the opportunity to try some Cambodian food, so after some quick research, I opted for Beef Lok Lak, which happened to be one of the lunch combos. I chose fried rice and nime chow for my lunch options and settled back to wait for my feast. They bring you a complementary pot of hot tea, which I enjoyed. I believe it was a straightforward unsweetened black tea. Perfect for me. Before long the rangoons arrived. I literally said "wow" when the runner set my plate down. Beautiful golden brown, small bubbles visible all over the outside, promising crispy goodness. And it delivered. What I didn't expect what the slight chewiness to the wrapper that enhanced the experience. The filling was super creamy and delicious, but I prefer my rangoons with scallions as well. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying every bite. Then my lunch came. The beef was perfectly cooked, the dressing tangy and peppery. The nime chow was herby and super fresh as it should be. And the rice had this extra depth of flavor that made me think of tomato paste? A lovely addition the dish. I had a great meal here and the rangoons are definitely worth having! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of their menu!!

For the longest, I thought Apsara on Hope St and this Apsara were the same owners, different locations but I was fooled. They are different, so I came on a Saturday evening with my friend to give this one a try. They have a parking lot but it is small. However, there is lots of street parking around. When we walked in, every table was full and we had to wait about 20-30 minutes to be seated. Since we had time to look at the menu while we waited, we ordered right away: BBQ beef, stir fried thin egg noddle with seafood, and thai garlic chicken wings. While waiting for the food, I had ample time to take in my surroundings, including all the elegant décor around the restaurant including a lot of red and gold colors. Our food came out all together after about 20-30 minutes. The portion sizes were excellent, and all the food was still hot. The beef was cooked perfectly (for me) and cut into manageable strips. It was tender, a hint of sweet, and savory. It came with some sweet pickled shaved radish, cabbage, and carrots with cucumber. This with the meat created a contrast in texture and amplified the sweetness. There was also a clear sauce and that was also really.good. The fried noodles were delicious. They were thin so it seemed like the flavor penetrated inside the noodle. It had a good amount of seafood including big chunks of imitation crab meat, shrimp, and something else I was unfamiliar with. It also had mustard leaves; they weren't bitter, they just had a neutral green leaf flavor (maybe spinach but stronger). The chicken wing order came with about 8 wings, sitting on a bed of cabbage and topped with jalapeno and chili peppers. They were still very hot and crispy, and had a savory and a subtle umelike flavor. I wish the garlic flavor were stronger. I am excited to come back again and try something new on the menu.
