    Pad See Ew

Was craving some Thai when my fiance and I were in town. This place definitely hit the spot. My pad see ew was balanced with tang, sweet, and salty. Plenty of beef pieces and I could really taste the wok on the scorched beef. We ordered for pick up and they were decently fast with it. If you're ever in the neighborhood, I'd highly recommend it.

I've only been here once for one specific dish, which is is why I gave a 4 star. Friends and I arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday. There were only two other tables full of people. It's small but still very spacious. The restaurant is BYOB with a liquor store a few blocks down. Our server was very nice and gave great recommendations. We ordered fresh rolls for the table. Nice and fresh, they were tasty. I ordered the Katiew Nua, which is their version of Pho. I really liked it! I wasn't a big fan of the beef meatballs, but I prefer sliced meat in my pho. I would get this again! For dessert, we ordered Mango Sticky Rice. They only had enough for one serving. It was pleasantly sweet! Overall, very nice place to visit and I would come back to try more!

Sushi (only messy because we already started digging into them!) Presentation was spot-on prior to eating.

This place is LEGIT! The sushi was some of the best sushi I've ever had! We ordered: Kiss Me I'm Thai Broad Street Volcano Shrimp Tempora Every single one of them was exactly what we wanted. There's so much favor and effort in the rolls and you can taste it! Definitely would highly recommend!!!

Honey fried banana with ice cream. This was so amazing.

I'm between a four and a five star rating. There's nothing to knock it back to four stars, just that unexplainable element that I would reconsider if I became a regular (I don't live in the village, but for village's sake I would consider it 5-star). Winning aspects? The food. The cost. The friendly staff. But especially the food! My friend and I got the Steamed Thai Dumplings as an appetizer, and they were amazing, topped with crispy garlic, so delicate and perfectly cooked. I got a six piece spicy tuna sushi roll, and I'd love to come back for more of the sushi. I think this place could give Haruki (on the East Side) a run for its money. Really good. For mains, my friend got the Pad Thai with chicken, and I got the yellow coconut curry with chicken. My friend is a pad Thai king and he said this is on par with one of his favorite places in Worcester (where he lives). I'm not an expert, but I thought it was perfect in flavor and texture, definitely a solid amount of food--which we finished, because we leave no noodle behind. Yellow curry was our waitress's choice and I was a fan. I was leery of having pineapple in it, but it actually countered some of the spice and I thought it worked well. Dessert: honey fried bananas a la mode. Maybe my favorite part of the night. We didn't realize it was byob, but now I know and I'll definitely be back!

We started out with my husband's newfound favorite, the clam cakes. I appreciated the herbiness of the breadcrumbs they were fried in. My husband got the crab roll for his entree, and I did like the bite I was able to sneak of it. I really wanted the lobster roll but that $42 price tag turned me away quickly. Instead I got the fish and chips with pollock for my entree. I am always complaining about portion sizes. Not here, I was only able to finish around 1/3 of it. It is substantial! Not only was it a generous portion, but it was really nicely fried, and I loved the flaky salt on it. My one complaint is the sauces that you pay extra for. I got some piri-piri mayo and garlic aioli. Both of these were absolutely not worth it, grossly lacking in flavor. Don't waste your money on these and stick with ketchup. The staff was friendly, helpful, and as attentive as they could be from inside the food truck. The locale is super cute with a bunch of picnic tables out on a patio. The parking is super limited though so beware. Would definitely recommend!

Here is what we tried: Lobster Roll (4.5/5): Super delicious and buttery! At $42, it's definitely pricier than other spots in the area! Cape Shark Fish & Chips (4/5): Had to try these since it's what they're known for! Perfectly crispy and meaty Heirloom Tomato Salad (4/5): Nice and refreshing to have a veggie dish, though it leaned a little on the salty side. Needless to say, it was a disappointing start to what was supposed to be a special family evening. Thankfully, a quick call to Aguardente in Fox Point changed everything. The person who answered explained that they weren't taking reservations that evening, but they did have one outdoor table left if we could make it there in time. Despite the challenges of navigating Providence during the World Cup festivities and the Cape Verde Festival in the Fox Point area, we managed to get to the restaurant and secure that last table. We are incredibly grateful to the staff at Aguardente for helping turn our evening around. Our daughter and son-in-law were hoping to enjoy one last dinner with both families before leaving on Monday for a special assignment in South Carolina, and the unexpected closure of our original restaurant had left everyone feeling frustrated and disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the team at Aguardente made us feel welcome. The food was excellent, the drinks were wonderful, and the service was outstanding. Most importantly, they helped transform what had begun as a stressful evening into a memorable celebration with family. Thank you to everyone at Aguardente for your kindness, hospitality, and professionalism. You made our families smile and created a special memory during an important moment in our lives. We highly recommend Aguardente and look forward to returning. -- A very grateful family

Atmosphere: cute outdoor seating area for summer nights. The inside has cool decor (including a…read morebathroom that apparently won an award??), but is very small and cramped. The upper 'porch' like area looks really fun, but the table we were seated at was so close to the other tables I was uncomfortable. I get that we're in a city, but I value my personal space and privacy and felt like the whole restaurant could hear my every word - ick. Service: our server seemed annoyed that I didn't want an alcoholic drink, and was not very helpful. Half of the menu is not in English (very chaotic how some portions are in English and others are not, it doesn't seem consistent), so we had some questions, such as "what does x taste like?" and the only response we got was "not too sweet"....okay, but what DOES it taste like? She spoke very fast and I couldn't understand her listing off the specials, even though she didn't really have an accent. She left partway through while we were there so I guess she was just at the end of her shift and checked out, but it was so offputting how rude and unhelpful she was. When our servers transitioned, we offered to cash out then since we weren't getting anything else and wanted the original server to get her tips, but she started joking around that we didn't have to do that - which I appreciate, but we actually did want to get going and get cashed out, but she refused to give us our check. I asked three times and she still wouldn't 'let us do that'...very weird. Food: there were not a ton of vegetarian options that appealed to me. I went a little overboard on plantains by accident, which is my mistake. I first ordered the Rellenitos with cilantro crema sauce, which were very good and a flavor combination I wasn't expecting. The dough to filling ratio was a little off and they were pretty dry inside, so I needed a lot of the sauce. An order only came with 2 and I wish it was more. I'm glad I ordered something else - Tula Fries, which came with the same exact cilantro creme sauce as the Rellenitos, even though they are described differently on the menu, which felt lazy to repeat a sauce. The sauce didn't go well with them at all in my opinion so I did not enjoy these as much as I would've liked. My friend enjoyed her drink, but thought almost all of the meat on her meat and cheese board was either low quality or close to going bad. It was priced reasonably, which we were shocked by, but she couldn't eat a good portion of it sadly. We did really enjoy the baked flava bean snack that was a part of it. The board weirdly came with just half of one small, half rotten strawberry that looked terrible - it would've been better to leave it off. Towards the end of the night, there was so much water on the floor in the hallway that goes to the bathroom and passes the kitchen - I had to walk through it to go to the bathroom, which felt like a safety hazard. My friend was on crutches and wouldn't even try to get over there since we knew she'd slip on all the water. It just looked terrible and was dangerous, so not sure what we going on that there was such a water issue there. Their specialties and more meat based dishes are probably great, but there just aren't a ton of things for me to eat here. I'd be willing to try it again for drinks and apps if the service wasn't so unwelcoming.

Nice and tender, very thin crisp batter that didn't get soggy. Good amount of cherry peppers to go along. I got the swordfish francaise, it was calling to me. I thought it was fantastic. When I am stumped about where to take a guest or guests, I never go wrong with this place--it's so close to me as well. It is one of Warwick's best-kept secrets. First, their dinner-for-two with a bottle of wine lives on, though I no longer enjoy the revamped menu, and the price has gone up. It's just better for me to order off the regular menu now. For starters, they have warm bread, roasted garlic that is so soft and moist to spread on the bread, olive oil, vinaigrette, and parmesan to par if you fancy. Their dishes are filling, and the dessert choices are ample. As a rule, I do not eat dessert after a meal, but here, that rule is kaput. So worth it. They also always give you complimentary limoncello shots. On my most recent visit, we ordered the Mediterranean Calamari for starters, the generous Seafood Pescatore, Pan Seared Black Bass, enjoyed with Meiomi Pinot Noir, and for dessert, something special that I cannot recall.
