I was at this location on this past Saturday 1/31/26. It was about 4pm. I was the only person in line. There was only one person eating in. Store not busy at all. I ordered a double cheeseburger box that included fries and also a strawberry milkshake. There were 2 people working I believe. After waiting a short time, I got my food and was on my way back home. I was driving and I expected my fries and food to be nice and hot, BUT NO!! I had COLD FOOD, fries barely had been reheated!!! Then the burger COLD. I was surprised and very upset!! WHY COLD FOOD?? THERE WAS'NT A LINE. I was the only customer in line!! I called and asked why?? This is and was totally unacceptable !! The young man that I spoke to might have been the cook. WAS HE ON HIS PHONE AND JUST HEATED UP A BURGER THAT WAS PRECOOKED!! COLD FRIES THAT WERE PRECOOKED AND REHEATED!! WTF! $15 for cold food!! I told them I would be back the next day to get my money back!! I also felt they should remake my meal and give it to me for this total disappointment and inconvenience that I have experienced! I had to heat food up in my microwave!! I asked for the managers name and was not given it. I left my name and number and haven't gotten a call as of today(Tuesday 2/3/26). Sadly, I would say that this location does not care about the quality of their service or their food. I WOULD STRONGLY DISCOURAGE GETTING BURGERS HERE. Yesterday, I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich as i hv in the past. Being someone who is allergic to cheese, I always order mine without cheese. Wayback burgers steak is tasty, bread is soft and delicious and I enjoyed them. Well, yesterday when picking up the order, there was some snickering among the staff about who orders a cheesesteak with no cheese. I do, that's who but you don't hv to worry about me bothering your establishment with the order anymore. Thanks for your understanding in that not everyone can eat everything. For the shake & fry combo, I shall give thee 4.5 stars rounded up. Came for turkey burgers my honey SWORE they had...but they don't, haha. Thankfully though they have beef and veggie burgers + chicken options. I love how you can build your own or pick something pre-made. We ordered one fry and it was more than enough for the both of us. The absolute worst place to eat. Tables are dirty. Greasy spots on the table's. Dirty floors. The drink dispenser is dirty. If you sum up the kitchen and the surrounding areas, you would sum it up to be a disaster. The staff act like nothing is wrong. Rude people are working in this establishment. A condemned sign should be nailed on the doors. The only reason for a star is simply because it is the only way to be able to give a review notice to post. Save your money and time. Burgers were well-liked. Grilled chicken was sliced very thin- not a thick piece of breast. So, the sandwich seemed not very substantial. Caesar came out WITH croutons even though I said twice "no croutons". Server suggested I "pick the croutons out". Not ok. They remade the salad, again with thinly sliced chicken. Placed an order online for a pickup time of 6:45 at least 2 hours prior and still had to wait 20 mins for my order to be ready. Ordered about 11 sandwiches and a majority of them were incorrectly made. Had toppings that we didn't request and most of the sandwiches were incorrectly made. Called the manager just to let him know we were upset but let him know we weren't looking to be compensated and more so that he could be aware that his staff is messing up. The facility needs a remodel, the toilet lifts up like a rocket ship when u sit on it, the walls are falling apart and rusted over, the staff incorrectly charged our table for our order and left items out. I can't believe this place is still in business. The food was at best Mediocre. Very expensive for two burgers two med drinks and fries was almost 32 dollars!!!! The building looks like it's falling apart and it's not very clean. This is supposed to be a franchise but it's being run into the ground which seems to be pretty typical for Dover. I am not sure why I had not previously been to Jakes when visiting the Dover area. Jakes Wayback Burgers is the type of burger joint you can count on when you are just HUNGRY! The menu is varied with milkshakes, burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and salads. Don't go near the triple, triple burger! There is a monthly burger special. They have a milkshake of the monthly special as well, along with a variety of interesting shakes. Other menu items were tempting but one can only eat so much. I was delighted with the burger special and fries. The SWEET tea was plentiful and delicious (not overly common in the North) and I left with a full tummy and a smile on my face! read more

Jake's has locations throughout Delaware. This is a great fast food restaurant. Jake's makes ALL of the food fresh. They have real burger patties and are cooked to order. Jake's has a vast menu and I have tried most of the items :) I love the Chili Dogs. They are all beef and very good. Most Jake's locations are not extremely large. Upon going into this location, you will see they have a dining area for the customers as well as the register to order the great food that they will serve. You will need to let them know with your order if you are dining in or taking your food to go. This location does not have a drive thru window (as most do not).....remember, the food is cooked to order. Once you have ordered your food, people generally have a seat and within a few minutes your food is brought to you (to go or dining in). I encourage everyone to try the Milk Shakes!!!!! They are soooooo good. The burgers are fresh, hot & delicious. They make fresh cut potato chips, fresh cut French fries.....should I go on???? Are you hungry yet??!!!!
