Great burger, tater tots, CHICKEN TENDERS, and LARGE CHILI CHEESE FRY!

Food was hot and fresh tater tot's were extra crispy the chili was tasty and the burger was absolutely incredible. Service was quick and you could see them cooking the burgers and chicken tenders. Buns tasted fresh and seating was nice with booths and chairs. And the place it's self was fun and new. Go here for lunch or brunch if your looking for amazing options and good service.

Deliciousness! Super saucy tenders, spicy too! Grilled chicken sandwich very tender not tough. The pickles are really nice and fresh. The burger was cooked perfectly and the American cheese melted right into it like a cheesesteak!

Let me start by saying that I rate all "chain" restaurants at a typical 4-star maximum, only giving 5 for the truly exceptional locations and may note a 4.5 for really good ones. That being said this Jakes location is run very well, clean, the food is fresh, service is fast and the staff is friendly. The menu is still the same as it's been - mainly burgers but also chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and rings, and now tater tots on the menu with the milkshakes they added years ago. Everything is prepared to order and customizable in any way you like. In that way it reminds me a bit of Five Guys but it's a different set of options and a slightly higher price point in addition to being different burgers and fries. Great place to stop for a quick lunch or pick up something to bring home but eating in the restaurant is a unique experience that sets them a little further apart. The one thing I almost deducted a 1/2 star for was the removal of the "Irish Nachos" side I have always come here for. House made potato chips with chili, cheese, onions and jalapenos, it was something you can't get most everywhere else. Though they added the tots to the menu and you can get most of that stuff on them, it's not the same and unless it's something super-unique I always thought it was weird ordering tater tots at a restaurant. Solid 4 stars.

Place is ok.. Milk shakes are good, but the food itself is standard run of mill type food. Nothing stands out as spectacular or specialty. We had tater tots and mac and cheese bites and I ordered a classic burger. Wasn't bad but wasn't great. Friendly and fast staff. No complaints on service or staff they are good..

I took out lunch from here through Uber. Brisket Burger was my favorite. Buffalo chicken burger was also really good. The chilly cheese fries was ok. The chipotle mayo sauce which came with fries, was actually really good with the brisket burger.

I've been driving by this place forever and finally stopped in. There was a little difficulty to order. The cashier was locked out of the system and didn't have a pin and had to make calls and text people. He was apologetic. We sat down and waited. I don't think it's the kind of place you can go to for a burger in a hurry, just when you have a bit more time. He was very polite but seemed disorganized. Our order had to be taken a second time due to the cash register problem. Our food came out without our drinks. He apologized for forgetting my onions and when he remembered brought them out on his own. I had a regular cheeseburger. It was tasty, not mind blowing. Not greasy. The homemade chips were very good. Had they stayed cooking a tiny bit little longer they would have been burnt but they were tasty. The shake was also tasty. My friend also said her buffalo chicken sandwich and cookie and cream shake were also good. Closing time says 9pm but the staff kindly let us know they'd be closing early last night. The young man was busy cleaning. A mature woman came over and was so nice. She told us to not rush but take our time, with a big genuine smile. She made us feel welcome. Overall it was a good experience. I'd like to return and try their other offerings. Onion rings, specialty burgers, etc. It has that old fashion burger joint feel.

I was really disappointed by Wayback Burgers. I ordered a salad and the half of the lettuce was wilted and brown. The food was expensive considering it's a fast food restaurant. And the worst part is that the fries tasted like the frozen ones you get in the supermarket and refrigerate. On the bright side the kids meals are pretty large so if you want a lot of nasty food for a little bit less, this is the better deal.

Came in with my daughter after a very long drive, and decided on a Crispy Chicken with fries and Oreo Mud Pie (shake) as well as a Classic no bun (lettuce wrapped). The food was very good and hit the spot. The meat tasted very clean. I only wish my burger came with plastic utensils, but I can't complain about that. Thanks for keeping me conscious because it had been 7 hours between lunch and dinner.

My charred tenders and onion rings!

I went in today with a friend on my lunch break. I order a Caesar salad and my friend orders a burger. Fifteen minutes later they bring her burger and tell me that my salad will be a few more minutes. Then they tell me that they have run out of lettuce. Ok.....so I order tenders and onion rings because at this point, I only have about 20 minutes left on my lunch break. When they brought out my tenders 15 minutes later they were very burnt as were the onion rings (see photo). I am now out of time so I just have them box it up because I have to get back to work. I did not complain because everyone working was literally under 20 and they seemed to be as frustrated as I was. I was really disappointed though that they served food that was so incredibly charred. I won't be going back.....

"And there's fire on the mountain Lightening in the air…read moreGold in them hills and it's waiting for me there" (Marshall Tucker Band) Fire On the Mountain has one of the most unique menus I've ever encountered. Seriously, where else have you ever seen breakfast quesadillas, catfish and grits, cheesecake cornbread waffles, smoked brisket hash, deep fried pork ribs, catfish, mushroom, and alligator tacos, and a Puerto Rican Rice Bowl all happily living in the same menu's neighborhood? And then, the icing on the cake was our server - a charismatic and uber-friendly gent named Bromwell who lights up the room with his personality. He made my list of the five greatest servers I interacted with this year. The restaurant's location is as unusual as its menu. You'll find it occupying the front space at the Suffield Commons Senior Living Apartments! Yup, as you walk through the restaurant and out their back door, you actually enter a common space for the housing complex. The restaurant itself has two dining rooms with booths, tables, and chairs and a bar with dining room chairs. That eclectic menu is chock full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices with Mexican and barbecue flairs. We were there for lunch and ordered two things. The first was an enormous Cheese Quesadilla ($9.35) with pork ($3.12) on a grilled flour tortilla served with sour cream and pico. It was a thing of beauty, cut into five thick wedges loaded with smoked pork. Our second item was a Caesar Salad (Half size for $6.23) with a side of smoked brisket ($9.36). I passed on the croutons and Caesar dressing in lieu of barbecue sauce as my dressing. I gotta tell you, the brisket was GREAT, a big serving of tender and juicy smoked beef cut into four slabs that must have totaled close to a half pound. We loved everything about Fire On the Mountain and agreed that we need to return for a proper breakfast when we are out that way or making a morning airport run. PRO TIP The restrooms are located in the housing complex's common space I described earlier/ Just exit the restaurant by the door in the rear dining room, and you're just about there.

The service was wonderful and attentive - all with a smile. Special shout out to Bramwell for going above and beyond. The place was packed when I got there, lots of locals all enjoying their company and their dishes. Got a seat at the counter right away, grabbed a menu and checked through their offerings. Decided on French toast with real maple syrup and biscuits and gravy. Food came out quick especially with the crowd. Everything was cooked, the French toast was okay. Not soaked enough, toasted with butter but not a lot of cinnamon in the dredge. Not great, but very functional. The biscuits and gravy were very much a northern take on the southern classic. Grands biscuits grilled on the flat top with grey goopy gravy on top. Very lackluster. The staff was very friendly, and the price was very cheap. Even with the golden delicious branded syrup upcharge the bill was only 12 dollars. Which is very affordable given the quality was not so great. As a generic diner, it does basic dishes well enough. There's not a ton of breakfast spots around, so it does well as that local greasy spoon. Doesn't need to be fancy, cause it's one of the few places in town and they are serviceable. I wouldn't drop by on my travels, but if you need cheap eats then this place will fit the bill

Sole server was hospitable. Lots of items were unavailable when I tried to inquire about them. Drinks were self-serve, but they did deliver food. I opted for the stuffed French toast and tried their home fries to see how they prepped them. Food came out with a little wait. Took my pics and dug in. The French toast, they did try but it was not the best. Cream cheese was as advertised, sweetened and smeared lightly between lightly dipped bread pieces which were grilled on a griddle. Lots of blueberries and a few sliced strawberries. And some powered sugar for decoration. Taste-wise was okay, but was way too bready and not enough seasoning. If I were to advise on how to fix this, make a cream cheese filling with the cool whip and cream cheese, and make it a substantial layer of filling. Macerate the strawberries, and soak the bread a bit longer so the custard can seep in. The home fries were lightly seasoned, cooked through but lacking flavor. I like my home fries to have a bit of a sear to them with crispy browned bits. I also like them to be seasoned a little heavier, or else all you get is a bland potato. Pricing was about 18.50. So not bad for the dishes I ordered. Portion was right, just the quality was lacking. As a little local diner, it fits the bill just fine. You can get eggs and omelettes and the space is nice. Just know it's very basic and you'll be just fine.

Thankfully, our server was really sweet and friendly, which made the experience much better. The restaurant itself was nice, and I liked that they have a patio area. I just wish it had been open because it looked like a great spot to sit. The biggest issue was the cleanliness. The floor looked pretty dirty, and while we were still eating, an employee started sweeping right next to our table, which wasn't exactly pleasant. That being said, the food was good, our waitress was great, and I'd still give this location another chance. Hopefully next time the cleanliness and overall atmosphere are a little better.
