Under new management and the quality & service definitely improved. This was the first time trying a Wayback, and they sure did deliver a good experience. Burger wise, I like to say it's a mix of Shake Shack and Five Guys. They have the customizable option of Five Guys but quality of Shack. Service is also great and friendly at this location. I've ate here before at least two times. Both times were good. The place used to be the old Pizza Hut so the decor looks outside looks familiar. When you go inside it looks totally different. Television screens, hard wood chairs and tables are in this place. I ordered a swiss bacon mushroom burger and onion rings. Burger was cooked perfect - medium well. Onion rings were fried golden brown. There was nothing big to complain about. It is what you pay for. Prices are reasonable. Food was very good. I live in Middletown so it is a little out of my range travelwise. If i do pass the area, especially in traffic on highway, i do recommend eating at this place. read more

The man at the front desk was incredibly rude and condescending. Asked about a shake thought they can make certain kinds he just seemed annoyed. Shouldn't work with the public. The other staff seemed super friendly though and food was very good! read more

As soon as I walked into this restaurant as a handicapped person, I could tell this was going to be a special place. I was greeted warmly and treated graciously. Can't go wrong. Passing through on the way back to Jersey and stopped in for a quick bite. Had a Burger with pepper jack and mushrooms and hubby had a Philly cheesesteak. Jakes wayback burgers... where do I start? Amazing. A few years ago I had a DoorDash order here and thought it smelt and looked amazing. My girlfriend and I ordered from here. Expectations were more than met. We created our own burgers. They beat our expectations. The wayback hot dog... absolutely amazing. A must have if you're ordering from here. With all this being said, Wayback Burgers 10/10 we will be ordering from here again. Best burgers ever! P.S. this is the girlfriend now. I went to Jakes wayback when they first opened. Not that good at all. After trying it again. I was blown away with how much better they have gotten. Have never been here but figure I should finally try after passing by the restaurant for years. Was greeted at door and the staff was very nice. Ordered the classic Wayback meal, comes with drink and choice of fries, potato puffs, onion rings or some other choice. I got fries, they were cooked very good, crispy and not overdone. The burger comes with several toppings and I said leave it all on. They will ask and can modify of course. Was very filling, double patty, and seasoned well. I would recommend them for sure, so much more to try on the menu. Price came to $11.44 not fast food $ but they cook fresh to order and I can't complain. Didn't give them 5 stars only because I have had better burgers in my life but would visit Wayback another time. Next time trying a shake. read more

I'm updating my review since Wayback is now under new management. Since they took over we've only had great food and great experiences. Since food is cooked fresh to order it is not as "fast" as other fast food. So I recommend using the app and ordering ahead (plus you earn point for free Wayback!!). First time visiting a Wayback Burger. Pleasantly surprised. Staff was great and were very patient with the kids. Food was excellent and the place was very clean. Generally, in fast food places I feel like I don't want to sit down in the seats or at the tables, but this place was pretty clean. I felt like management and staff took pride in their restaurant. I ate here for lunch the other day. The place looks nice and clean with plenty of parking. The place was not crowded at all so I walked up to the register to order. It took a while for someone to take my order. There were 2 orders ahead of me. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a soda. The burger was very good and fresh. Toppings were fresh as well. The fries were cooked perfect and were slightly crunchy but not too salty. My only problem was that it took way too long for my food (about 30+ minutes) to be ready. When I walked inside I knew they looked understaffed. Had there been a rush of people they would have been a mess. They seemed to have recovered when one of the employees walked in and helped, so this may have been a one time glitch. The employees were polite and friendly. For just about $10, I got a very good burger, good fries and a soda. This was certainly better than a fast food restaurant where it could cost you about the same amount of money for about the same amount of food. I am a fan and will return to see if the service was just a bump in the road or if it is a common problem with this place. Tip: Tell them exactly what toppings you want on your burger or they will put everything on it. I like everything but there are some people who may not like mustard, onions, etc. read more

I never had this fast chain food before and it was so tasty. I liked that you can build your own burgers with different ingredients and sauces. There signature menu are all double patties so I ordered single Pattie burger with all my favorite veggies. The onion rings and french fries are really fresh and crunchy. I want to come back and try buffalo chicken sandwich and cod sandwich. Felt like fresher than other fast food chain.
