The place looks clean. You order at the counter and pay for your order and can stay to eat at a table if you wish. I asked for xtra crispy fries ( I liked that they were fresh cut) but they weren't crispy at all. The burgers seemed ok not as spectacular as iced heard. I got a bourbon burger and the steakhouse burger with fries and paid about $30.

Very good burgers, fries and onion rings. But it's also very pricy. Burgers are $9-10, for just the burger. Add fries, tots or onion rings, plus drink, for $5-6 more. Expect to pay over $30 for two meals, which honestly is a bit much for a burger, side and drink. But the burgers are tasty and the onion rings were delicious. The tomatoes on the burgers weren't ripe so they didn't add much. The staff was friendly and food ready within five minutes, made to order and delivered to your table. They have sufficient tables and a long table for standing if you prefer, but I'm sure the dining room can get crowded during peak hours. Dining room is casual, like a diner feel, with moderate noise. Plenty of free parking in front.

Let's start with service. We went on Christmas Eve in the evening and the staff was happy and helpful. That's rare to have that on a late night and especially a holiday. The place was pretty empty (hello Christmas Eve, lol) but festively decorated with a huge nutcracker. Our food was hot and as ordered. I liked the fries a lot more than the burger but I always find those little meat pieces that throw chewing off when I eat ground beef. Nothing against the location. Overall very happy with the staff and location.

I wanted a good tasting burger from a local spot so I decided to give this place a try. I got a regular burger with cheese lettuce tomato and pickle. I got a side of fries to go with it also. The burger was good nothing really wowed me about it. Seemed average to say the least. Don't get me wrong it was good but I don't see myself spending $13 dollars again on a meal that small.

Charming dinner in the center of Spartanburg that serves up a wonderful burger amongst other great things. I found their Remoulade Hamburger absolutely wonderful with two generous beef Pattie's, pepper jack cheese and bacon to be a great blend as well as a delicious hamburger, I ordered onion rings on the side. My girlfriend built her own burger. The two of us absolutely loved our hamburgers and my inspired New Orleans type Hamburger. The cute little gal was friendly and eager to assist us in taking our order. It's been one of my favorite places thus far while visiting South Carolina. This is a must visit when looking for a great burger to enjoy in Spartanburg.

My "create your own double cheeseburger" - a grilled mushrooms and onions double swiss cheeseburger," and full hanndcut fries... yum yum!

Not your normal fast food joint! I moved to South Carolina from the Northeast and I often will eat at a restaurant probably 2-3 times a week. I discovered Wayback Burgers a couple of months ago. I have been back five times since arriving to SC in late March, 2024 (that's about 3.5 months ago)...there are many dining places in Spartanburg, SC, but I really like this place. The staff have always been great! One time I brought three friends here... they have been in SC for a few years and had never been. They liked it too! I had normally ordered from the menu as far as their burgers go. The ones I had in the past were great! But today I did a build my own. I ordered a grilled mushroom, onion, with Swiss cheese and two patties. I love that combination. They cooked everything fresh. I ordered large fries, and a soft drink, too. The fries are hand cut and fresh and great too. They don't seem to salt the food (maybe they do) so that's great because some burger places over salt it. Once I placed my order at the counter, I poured my drink then took a seat. My meal was brought to me (as it always is) by a friendly staff member. I love the grilled mushroom & onion double swiss cheeseburger I created, and when I go back next time, I'm going to order it again! The restaurant is super clean, tables are wiped down almost immediately when a party leaves. Same cleanliness in the restrooms, too! One thing I really like is the American flag and a sculpture of a soldier in the restaurant. As an American who's also a veteran, it's just my style! Give Wayback Burger a try... you'll be glad you did!

Excellent burgers. Perfectly cooked and with condiments. Great fries and rings. Dine in or carry out.

A shame to hear they are not renewing their lease and will be closing. The owner told me they are opening a different style place downtown and may re-open a place like the current joint in the east side but it will be a while. Really unfortunate as the burgers here are top shelf. I had to try both a dog and a burger - both Carolina style. Their chili is amazing so it really set both the dog and burger off. I added grilled onions to the burger and they were cooked perfectly. The fries are fresh cut and flavorful but they are cut very small. One recommendation to the owner, go to a more substantial fry. I highly highly recommend this place. Get in here before they close!!

It all looks really good and is a great size serving. But personally, I feel like the burgers and sandwiches are lacking seasoning. Don't get me wrong, you definitely taste the beefy-ness of the patty's and the meats, but I find myself having to add mayonnaise, ketchup, and salt and pepper on the patties and fries. I've been here 4 times, the 1st and 2nd times were not like that, but my 3rd and 4th were. Service was good, order at the counter then take a seat where you'd like and they'll bring it out. Self-serve on drinks. Small cozy and tight dining space, but it works! I will miss this place. 8/10

I was eating a standard all the way dog. My buddy started asking about whether NW offers live music. We were informed that an open jam commences every Thursday at 9. "9:00pm? Must not be bluegrass. . . That's fine, I'm in." I thought to myself. Dropped Jared off. Got out of work attire, grabbed a couple guitars, and went back to Sparkle City to see about this jam. It wasn't quite what I would call a jam, but lemme tell you. There's this four piece band who plays a bitchin set to get everybody in the mood, then, something that seems like the bastard child of open mic and karaoke ensues. Musicians are encouraged to come lay something down. They can play solo, or they can be accompanied by a band who can quickly learn the song. What an opportunity, do John on the drums, Shawn on the slide with an SG, Drew (?) with a hollow body Telecaster and (sorry I forgot the name, but) Santa Ray Cyrus on the more than 4 strings bass, offer to amateur musicians! You can lead a band for a few songs! This is the kind of bar where all walks of life commune. The staff is prompt and polite. The drinks are affordable. Douchebaggery seems to be minimal. Oh yeah, if the hot dog orders aren't too backed up, Josh (the executive chef) sits in on the drums. He can flat out play! Thanks for the gracious hospitality, band members and bar staff. I'll be back as time allows. Great job!

I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. The lady at the counter provided great customer service and food came out in 3-4 minutes. Considering how busy it was then, I like how efficient they are like Chick-Fil-A. Unfortunately that's where the compliments end. Pricing for the combos are slightly above what you would pay for at a fast food burger spot. In addition, the menu when ordering will make you feel like you're being nickel and dimed. I didn't mind paying for the queso, but paying extra for each of their sauces felt extra. There's only so few fast food restaurants that charge for extra sauce. The food portions were surprisingly small. Yes sliders are small, but the fries portion felt very sparse. It might have been the smallest side portion I've received at a fast food restaurant. The food is good for what it is. I'd prefer this over your typical fast food burgers, but by only so much. All orders are packaged to go, regardless if you choose to dine in or not. There are outdoor tables that you can sit there and eat if you'd like to. If you're looking for something quick in the area, good service, and a small burger meal, this in my opinion would be a good place to go. Otherwise, I can't suggest going here unless you really want to try it. I'd like to be wrong and try it again with some sort of change.
