I wanted to like this place and was quite excited to order from here and today was the day. Decided to do a takeout wanted to take my staff lunch and do a surprise 20 inch size from my hubby, First of all They come in obnoxiously large boxes that you could barely carry or fit in a car, Second, they automatically show you the bill with the credit card charge. Even if you're paying cash. They told me they were going to take it off and handed me my change less the credit card charge of course.... So here goes: unfortunately the only decent thing in the take-out order of the four things I ordered for almost $85. Was the 24 inch pie half plain half pepperoni and the brussels sprouts The 24 inch pie was decent & the crust was great but only shortly after the order was picked up. After bring it home and warming it up, it was dreadful. Seriously what's up with that?... Brussels sprouts they were just good over all. The Chicken Parm sandwich, OK that's a joke. It's wrapped in piecrust, which looks good at first but the whole thing on the bottom is totally soggy & the chicken is paper thin. so basically you can't eat it, and that was thrown away. Now let's talk about the 20 inch slice with the plastic pizza slicer that they throw in. We all know it's a gimmick and it's cute and I wanted to bring it my to the hubby. Open the box, it looks OK but again it looks obnoxious. And it just taste horrible, but it was take out and I just don't think any of this should be taken out !!!! Place is getting better. Very few places in NJ know how or even serve a Chicago -style bar pie. This is the every day pizza for chicagoans.Deep dish is eaten only a few times a year. the bar pie must be cut in squares not wedges. It must also be well done.best with fresh hand formed sausage with fennel. if these guys can master this and really advertise it this could bring in lots of people from over northern jersey. they have a decent start. read more

The food was brought out in to-go containers and we were given plastic cups and thin paper plates to eat our pizza. The pizza slice was bigger than the plate which required it to partly lay on the table-GROSS! When I cut the pizza end off the plate immediately ripped. There were plenty of servers but they were not trained. Although our waitress was nice she didn't provide napkins or silverware, forgot to put in our 2nd pizza order, didn't know the difference between beers on the menu-I blame management. No one apologized or offered a drink while we waited extra long for our food. (hospitality 101) The large screen TV's were nice but did not go with the loud club music playing in the background. The bar was packed and clearly that's the focus as the owner also opened Mothers Ale house until he stopped paying taxes. read more

When we first walked in, the first thing I noticed was it wasn't that clean. Finger prints on the napkin holder and table... but a little Clorox wipe and it was ok. The menu is SUPER limited - only a few choices besides pizza. The waiter brought us water and it was luke warm with melted ice. We needed to ask for ice. We ordered our food, and I was nervous because the waiter did not write anything down. I normally have confidence in a waiter or waitress that can do the memorization thing, but after the warm water and dirty table I was skeptical. Our food came out in two waves... two long waves. My burger was ok... the pickles were non existent and they forgot my cheese. Our kids and my father in law liked their food, but they weren't raving about it. However (and this is why I am giving this place 2 stars as opposed to one) my husband's pizza was awesome. It was seriously great. Thin crust, and a perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Fantastic. Unfortunately, when we went to pay my husband noticed something was off. We mentioned it to our waiter, and he reprinted our bill. On the newly printed bill it showed our tip was included, but on the original bill, it did not! I am very appreciative of good help, but our waiter was terrible and had we not noticed the mistake he was going to walk away with a $60 tip on a $110 dinner. I don't know if the bill snafu was intentional, but it was the cherry on the sub-par sundae that is Wayne Ale House. Again, I sincerely appreciate good help, and always tip generously when it is due. But this place just seemed so lacking... it simply needs new management. To sum up, if all you want is pizza and a beer, then I would sit at the bar and watch a game. I wouldn't go here looking for a nice meal, attentive staff or pickles on your burger- it isn't going to happen. read more

Tried it again after a not so great visit. Pizza is good but we tried a chicken parmigiana sandwich on this visit and it was super greasy with thin chicken. We wouldn't have the chicken again. I guess that I'd go back for pizza but that's about it. read more

Ok so guilty as charges thought the place was going to be open only until 8 pm but Yes they have extended the hours!! Cocktails are awesome. And their skinny Rita is delish! I wasn't impressed with this place, the mooz sticks and cheesy garlic knots were good, maybe I should have ordered the pizza, we ordered it for my grandkids, the adults ordered sandwiches, they brought out the wrong sandwich, and told me no it's the right one, which it was not, when they brought me the right sandwich, the bread was ice cold, like they had it in the freezer and it tasted stale, to top it off, they had the nerve to add on a 20% tip, which is what I would usual give if the service was good, but it was not worth 20%, I would have only left 15%. I would not recommend this overpriced establishment, save your money and go to a real Italian place. read more

We went there today, a Sunday, just before 12 for lunch. There were two other people at the bar and just us for dining. After waiting for almost an hour for the plain pie we ordered, we asked for the check and to cancel our order and just pay for our drinks, after another table that came 20 to 30 minutes after us got their pizza first. They then took another 15 minutes after we asked for the check. They did end up finally giving us a pizza to go and comped that and our drinks and were apologetic, which is the only reason I am giving two stars instead of one. The pizza was average but definitely not worth waiting an hour for. Definitely will not be back. I understand it is a new business and did not expect super fast service, but this was ridiculous. read more

Great addition to wayne. The pizza is so tasty and fresh. Highly recommend. And visited recently with friends for Sunday NFL football viewing and plenty of TVs with all teams on. Good craft beer selection, but can get better over time. read more

I've been here a few times - I have to say I went yesterday and the service was the best I had. Natalie was amazing! My girlfriends & I brought our kids.. sometimes kids can be a little needy and she handled them perfectly and was so attentive with everyone! Perfect everything! Our food was delicious, service was excellent, ambiance was great! We had options to watch on the TVs that are hung around the entire establishment. We recently stopped in to the Ale house last Sunday night. Great to see a new restaurant open in the area. We noticed right away the staff was very young and with that inexperienced. The menu is very limited with pricey appetizers, we ordered 8 chicken wings (12.00 dollars) since this is a "pizza place" that's what we decided to order as well. Here's where the fun begins. We could've each gotten a personal pie (15.00 each) or a regular pizza (24.00 unheard of in this area). We opted for the regular and just take home what we didn't finish. We also added toppings, pepperoni (4.50) and onions (3.50) for total cost of a large pie 34.00 dollars! We were fine with that nothings cheap. The biggest negative we had, remember I mentioned young staff our drinks came out soon followed by the wings they were very tasty except after the first one the pizza came out! The staff put it on a rack so it sat above the "whole" table over the wings which we could no longer see! It then caused me to do something I never do and sent the pizza back to the kitchen. Soon after a gentleman walked over apologized for the rushed pizza and young staff and stated he was having them make a new pizza? After we finished our wings I let a person know we were ready for the pizza and out came the pie barely warm which we knew was the same pie! The pie itself was thin, hence the larger size and average at best with limited onions and peperoni for the price. I recommend giving this place a try if you don't mind the prices but be on guard with the young staff and order as you go! Also if you plan on eating a large pie stay away from the high-top table for two! :) Total cost for this meal for 2 including 1 cocktail, 2 drafts and a club soda was 90.74 including 20% tip. read more

Wayne finally has a great pizza place. Solid 8 at least on the Portnoy scale. Thin crust and no flop. Got takeout can't wait to eat in.

I gave this place a 5 star review on 11/4. I returned last night and for whatever reason there was a little different vibe than last week. But my main complaint is with the owner, Robert I think his name is. I ordered food, a beer and a bourbon with ice. I was asked to give a credit card upfront. Not unusual, but it's the only place in the entire area that does this. When I got my bill, low and behold in addition to the now customary added credit card surcharge, the was a $3 charge for the ice in my Bourbon! Seriously!!! I asked the bartender about this and was told that's there practice. Didn't get this charge last week. Told her I wasn't going to pay that ridiculous charge. She sent Robert over who had somewhat of an attitude, I told him the ice charge was ridiculous and that I wasn't paying it. He would not remove the charge. Told him he'd lost a customer. He replied I wouldn't be welcome there again anyway. I deducted the $3 charge from my credit card bill, which I'm sure was added back. Very, very poor business practice and customer relations. Beware and check your bill carefully at this place! read more
