Pricing was high for us but we are from out of town and typically pay half for a good pizza in our state. I have ordered from this pizzeria for years ordering the same thing, large pie with half banana peppers and pepperonis. The peppers tasted off so I called them to inform them of the possible peppers being bad. The person defended the peppers quality and did not say anything but to put the blame on me. I was told I did not know what I was talking about. I was not looking for a replacement or refund. I am very disappointed and will never go back. I am thinking of calling the health department to verify the food quality at the pizzeria. Any food place should look after their customers. I guess the place does not. read more

The food is excellent! Here's why: Bread, served in any form on any Italian table should be moist and tender inside and crusty on the outside. This is the way we found it. Both the bread used for the subs and the additional bread provided with the large antipasto were first rate, for any Italian table! The marinara sauce, which is often a centerpiece for many dishes, falls short in OTHER restaurants. At this establishment, the marinara sauce is the genuine article. It was not overseasoned, and it was not sweetened as so many other sauces are in many OTHER establishments. The portions were generous, yet not overwhelming. Salad components were crisp and fresh. On our way to visiting a friend we dropping in on a whim. Glad we did! There are lots of pizzas to choose from! V & J is a big place so you can easily sit and watch one of the two TVs, one on each wall. We got 2 drinks, 3 slices, and 2 garlic sticks for about $20. My favorite was easily the chicken bacon ranch - just bursting with flavor. The margharita slice was solid but nothing crazy. My wife liked her cheeseless slice a lot. Garlic sticks were just fine. Can we talk about the birch beer? It really hit the spot. Not sure who makes it but I need it in my life again. BTW, it was pretty easy to park so do not worry about that. read more

Finally! A pizza shop in NJ that knows how to make a decent buffalo chicken pie. I come from the land of buffalo chicken everything (NEPA) and it's so insanely hard to find any pizza or wing spot that comes close to what I grew up with. Happy to have this as my go-to now! Their plain cheese pie was really good too. Now, here's a part I'm confused on and not sure what to think: I really want to love their sicilian pie (because who doesn't love sicilian pizza) but it's been inconsistent. The first time I ordered it, it had a thick crust, perfectly cooked, great sauce/cheese ratio and flavor. Sadly, the next couple times I ordered it, the crust was much more thin and I hate to say it, but it was just bland all around. The crust, sauce, cheese, every component was bland. I've seen other reviews on here rave about the sicilian, which is why I gave it so many tries. So I don't know what's been up with it but I just haven't had the same experience as the first time I tried it. Maybe the slices are better than ordering an entire tray/pie? read more

I usually stop at this place about twice per year when I get bored of all the other food places in this particular strip mall. The food is average , the decor and seating is 80's {ish}, and the prices are high. CREDIT CARD USERS BEWARE: They charge your credit card .80 cents for any purchase under $10. The credit card policy is crazy and insulting to "valued customers " or more appropriately not valued customers. The big credit card merchants only charge about .40 cents max per credit card transaction . So this establishment is also making money on you, by charging the .80 cent fee. The owner should just raise all prices .05 cents and not charge the ridiculous fee to its customers . Most of their stuff looks kind of bland, boring , and brittle. I paid over $8 for a small and skinny buffalo chicken stuffed bread . The side of sauce I asked for was very tiny and only filled half full. The only good practice they seem to perform is when they reheat any food item, they put the food on a metal "rack". This prevents the underside from getting burned and hard. Their food only rating is 3 stars . Decor , customer service , policy , portion , etc. is two stars , hence the overall 2.5 star rating . The owners of this place must really be "old school" as they are most likely losing tons of lunchtime business customers with their credit card policy . I personally next time will opt to drive five minutes up the road to Stefano's or Danny's Pizza, instead of this place . read more

We are in Wayne, NJ for a family affair. We noticed a Pizza Parlor in a shopping mall along New Jersery 23 North by the name of V & J Pizza. This sounds like a local establishment. A quick check with Yelp tell us that this is a 4.5 Stars facility. We walked in at 11:20 AM and noticed the clean tables and orderly manner by the employees. The smell of Pizza permeate the tall ceiling with a sign they will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2019. We knew we are in the right place. There were about two dozen of pizza available. The staff are friendly and smiling. We ordered slices of Cheese, Ranch bacon, Roasted pepper and eggplant and a sausage roll. The pizza was made thin crust style and freshly baked. Also there were a few Chicago deep dish pizza available. Amazed by our discovery, freshness of ingredients and taste, my wife said, "I can eat this pizza every day!" It is obvious, that V & J Pizza discovered the secret of good food, friendly service and reasonable price. Can't wait to try for clams over pasta and other Italian specialties here. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience there. I went in, placed my order with the middle aged man with glasses (maybe the owner or manager). I waited and after a while, I asked the two younger men near the register if they could ask the guy who had taken my order if he could take my order out of the oven so it wouldn't be burnt to a crisp. BOTH of the young men paused, looked at me straight in the eye, stared, and did NOTHING. They resumed their work. Uhm, what?
