This is a pretty decent NJ diner. I'd rate it about in the middle of the pack when comparing it to others. It is located on Hamburg turnpike and has a huge parking lot. The diner itself looks like the typical NJ diner but it is always clean inside. The service has always been great as well. They have a pretty large menu with plenty of options to please anyone. This place deserves the five stars!!! I don't understand how it got some mediocre three stars from other reviewers especially after a lot of them mention that it is in fact good. Let me just start by saying our waiter and the staff were very friendly. We got seated right away and served water within seconds. Shortly after our waiter came by and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We asked for coffee. Which was great black and we got seconds. Not to mention you only get charged for it once. Our waitor came back and asked if we were ready. Which we were. I ordered the gluten free chicken finger platter that comes with steak fries. He asked if I wanted honey mustard and I responded yes. I usually don't really order it but I was like "let's give it a try". Man was I not disappointed. It was the perfect blend of creamy and sweet bbq taste. Amazing! :) My husband ordered the gluten free French toast with some sunny side up eggs and turkey sausage. It was just as delicious. You could not even tell the French toast was gluten free. The eggs were cooked just how we liked them as well. Turkey sausage was tasty and perfectly cooked. I definitely recommend this place and I will be back. I was so happy to see they had a whole gluten free menu because of my allergy to gluten I've been holding back on diners for that reason. Now I won't have to worry because I have a spot close by where I can go get yummy gluten free diner food. It was really nice to see management going around and making sure everyone was good. We went here because we needed to eat and this was the diner in the area that had an extensive gluten-free menu. I got the Jersey burger, with cheddar cheese and onion rings. I got the burger medium. It seemed more well done. It was extremely greasy but I should've expected that from a diner. However the burger had no flavor to it. It was just the burger and the 2 pieces of Taylor ham slapped together without any spices. The meat color was kind of off putting once I bit into it. Another person got the gluten-free hot open Turkey. Their Turkey was so dry that it was inedible. I also tried it and it was extremely dry where it didn't taste good. After some time away, we returned to the WHD. We used to be regulars, but after some disappointments, we stayed away. But we returned, wanting to give it another go. We're glad we did. And the good news is that the food is much improved! In fact, excellent. I only gave it 4 stars, because we haven't re-explored the much updated menu. So stay tuned. Fried calamari, always a good "index food," was just what we hoped for. Crispy & crunchy on the outside, revealing tender and perfect calamari inside. There was no residual oil. The marinara served with it was the genuine article, although it could have been spicier. The Buffalo chicken quesadillas were loaded with chicken - and flavor. The cheese was excellent, and not runny, like it used to be. My pork chops were tender & juicy and perfectly broiled. The baked potato was fluffy and delicious. The cooked string beans were overdone and soft, a sign to order something else, next time. I found the matzoh ball soup average, at best. It could have used some chicken meat and veggies. The menu is larger than it was, but it occupies two sides of a single large page, with some entries so small, that the printing is as hard to read as the exclusions on your shopping coupons. Service? I had given up hope of ever having anything from a diner aside from eggs and potatoes, but now, my world has changed. Wayne Hills Diner is convenient;y located on a main road in the area, with plenty of parking. I can't express how excited I was at the prospect of having some variety for once. The gluten-free menu was so vast, I actually had no idea what I wanted to order. I ended up going with a berry crepe and it was unbelievably good. With a scoop of ice cream plopped on, it was probably the best crepe I've ever had. My partner kindly requested gluten-free fries with his meal so that I could sample some. They also offer gluten-free desserts, but I simply had no room to eat another bite. It's great knowing there's a place to eat where my food can be prepared safely. Old school diner all the way! So good , I have to wonder why I have never been here before. Had the taboo diner dinner of veal and Shrimp parmigiana with spaghetti. An assortment of salads are offered With this meal air a soup.I opted for the salami and cheese salad , sister had thee. Greek salad. Both loaded with fresh ingredients mine with the salami and cheese hers with the feta cheese and Kalamata olives. Both devoured! We also both had the French onion soup. The broth could have been richer otherwise it wasn't bad. When my entree came out I was impressed with the portion size, 3 very large butterflied shrimps in top of the veal Park. Their marinara is old school Greek diner style, wry tasty. My spaghetti could have been drained just a touch more but it wasn't a big deal and did not affect the meal. So after This monster portion was half devoured I packed the monster to go home and ordered a dessert. Chocolate mousse cake -yummy. Half of that came home as well.the next day I had another delicious cooked meal to enjoy. Will be back for sure. And the service was awesome our waitress was so much fun! The owners were there and everyone was masked up, they even took our temperature as we walked in. Also another note as we were walking iin , a car in the parking lot had It's alarm going off and we noticed a toddler inside. Food was eh, and our server Amanda was super nice, however the older gentleman at the cash register was not. He was very abrasive and rude, especially to a younger couple also checking out when my family was. I wanted to say something, however I did not want to make a scene, but due to his actions alone, I will never be returning to this establishment. I was so taken aback by his actions, that I just paid my tab, left a nice tip for the good server, and walked out. It looks a bit run down anyways, and the decor is outdated. Someone should talk to him about his customer service and politeness because nothing ruins a meal more than someone being blatantly rude to paying customers. read more

Friendly service. I really like the thin pancakes there. The Jersey burger is also worth trying! I guess my only complaint is that the crepes are thicker than the thin pancakes but who cares? Food was horrible. Waitress didn't come by during the meal and only afterwards. My wife didn't touch her meal. Waitress then asked "what happened you didn't like it?" Wife said 'not at all. Predictable, classic NJ diner. Tons of gluten free options such as bread, pancakes, banana muffins, brownies, almond horns, and even gravy for disco fries specifically made GF! Your run-of-the-mill Jersey diner with a HUGE menu!!! I am used to the over-abundance Jersey diner menu, and this one was no different. My wife and I took in this diner after leaving one of our usual ones.. After about 20 minutes, I finally chose the Philly Cheese Steak Wrap, with fries. Philly Cheese was very yummy, filled with real steak (not steak'ums... which are delish, but not at at diner...), onions, peppers and mushrooms... Served with fries, slaw, and pickle. The fries were very good.... But the portion size was awful (see pic, and I didn't take any yet). I felt like I got a child's size portion... So next time, I'll say something. Slaw was good as well. Why the 3 stars? Well, I've had better and worse diner experiences... This one was average and nothing to get all excited about. Food, good.. portion size, not so good.. Service, on par.. I feel like this diner has been around forever and for good reason. It's your standard New Jersey diner and a good go-to place if you're craving diner food. The menu is giant- even for diner standards, so you can always find something that you like. New Jersey is known for their diners so if you're coming from out of state or just want some good food please go down always to King George's Diner. Our artichoke, roasted pepper, and fresh mozzarella tasted fresh out of a can and the mozzarella tasted more like tofu. I asked for my burger medium and it came more than well done (I tried to just eat half and even that was hard). My whole family have been going to the Wayne Hills Diner for years. The owners and the staff are our friends, and they do all they can to please. All their food is well above average, especially the Italian dishes. Their marinara sauce is the best I have ever had. The deserts are also great. All baking is done on premises. On occasion when we eat at other restaurants, I will often think, when leaving, we could have had just as good a meal at our Diner for half the price.
