Would not recommend this company. Had them come over to treat our ant and spider problem. Then 3 weeks later the pests showed up again. Called & had Home Guard came out a 2nd time to do another complete spray of inside and outside the house. Unfortunately, within 2 to 3 weeks later, the ants and spider came back again inside and outside the house. We had to call another company to come and do the job just to make sure the pests won't come back again in such a short period of time. read more

I am pretty disappointed with these guys, not in terms of their pest control but in terms of their customer service. We signed up last year and had to cancel for other reasons than how homeguard performs their service. I wanted to sign up again yesterday because of a spider and ant issue. I need somebody quickly and they promised to send somebody on Monday which is good. However, then they said they slightly(!) increased the prices which is fine but... The increase was by 150% and I was going to be locked into an annual contract! I think that is bad customer service, a slight increase would have been fine, I understand that I may have gotten a great deal last time but 150% is pretty outrageous. They already service a few of our neighbors' houses so it would have been easy to come out here for them after the initial treatment. read more

I've had their service before and loved their service guys on site but to coordinate service dates with the office was always fustrating. The office seemed to not schedule me the days I wanted. I cancelled the service. Gave them another chance and was assured that management changed and now they have a great operation. I tried to switch to them from my previous pest control company because they cost less but after i made my appointment, took off work and sat around for 5 hours no one showed up for my initial service. I called when the technician never showed up and the receptionist told me they would find out what the delay was and call me right back. She verified he was late and I DID have an appointment. She double checked she had the correct phone number for me. No one bothered to call me back. So not only did I sit around waiting for a technician that never showed up (for a NEW client first call nonetheless!) They didnt call me back after i tracked them down. I dont care how much cheaper a service is if they dont show up. Also, on a side note when our neighborhood moved in we had a new construction street and everyone moved in around the same time. The had salespeople canvassing our street and I did not sign up when they came door to door because they used unethical sales techniques by inferring they were sent by the builder (not true) and that our neighbors (who they asked for each others names and probably grabbed public records from the deeds) were using them. When in fact they were name dropping to infer they were supplying service and that our neighbors recommended them and this was not the case. They told my neighbor that I sent them to them! I didnt trust them then and I certainly do NOT recommend them now after trying to give them a shot. And to wrap this all up in a complete non-recommendation when I called them back today to let them know they never showed up and also didnt call me back they gave zero argument to try to keep me. I was rushed off the phone. As a business owner I would NEVER let an unhappy customer off the phone like that without trying to make it right. Particularly in the days of social media for fear of exactly the kind of poor review that you see here. I just resigned with my old pest control company. It cost me some more money but they show up and take me seriously. read more

Have been using these guys for several years. The actual technicians seem to be knowledgeable and do a good job. Unfortunately you are at the mercy of the inept office staff to get them to your house. There has been more than one instance where the office staff has not communicated correctly with the technician resulting in missed appointments or my not being notified correctly so i could bring the dogs in so the technician could do their job. When trying to solve the problem the office staff do not listen and just keep repeating the same thing over and over again as a solution to the problem. IF they get new office staff my rating would be much higher! read more

Today Stan from Home Guard Pest Control serviced my house. This was the second application this company performed at the house. Prior to signing up with this company, I had a noticeable bug problem in my front and backyard. I had a lot of rollie poles, crickets, and some ants. After the first application this company did last month, I saw a huge reduction in live bugs around the house and an increase of dead bugs :). My first application was completed while I wasn't home so I had them come out for the second application during a time I was at home. Stan arrived today on time and was very friendly. I probably annoyed him with all my questions and watching him throughout the entire service. He didn't seem to mind and was informative on his job. Zero complaints about the pest control service, however I did have a problem with cancellation - maybe my fault since I didn't get a "confirmation number" or anything. Long story short, Home Guard Pest Control took care of the misunderstanding (asked me what would make me happy) and I have no more complaints about this company. My husband and I have had Home Guard for 5 years. I love it! I think the price is great, when I call for them to spray for bugs they come out within 1-3 days. I've only had to wait 3 days one time, and I believe that was because it was over the weekend. I have never had problem, and was actually sad when I had to cancel their service because we are moving out of state. read more

I would like to update my review, mostly because I made assumptions about a business as a whole rather than blaming the single person who was at fault. I have since spoken with Riley, who reached out to me as a disgruntled customer. He listened to my concerns and understood my disposition. He admitted fault on his end and promised I would receive the reimbursement I I was promised in the first place, but that wasn't all. He went above and beyond what he needed to do to make things fair. He genuinely cared about my satisfaction as a customer and followed up to make good on his promises. As much as there are still some communication problems that need some work, at the end of the day this company cares about their customer and their product.
