I do not recommend Home Guard Pest Control. I was a customer for over six years, and the billing experience was incredibly frustrating. My card was always valid, and I have never had ongoing autopay issues with any other company the way I did with Home Guard. Yet with them, the autopay would repeatedly fail. They would then call and call about the payment, I would update the card again, and a month or two later the exact same thing would happen. This became a constant cycle even though there was nothing wrong with my card. Eventually, we stopped using their service because the billing problems and repeated calls became too much. Now, after all of that, I'm receiving messages from a debt collector claiming I owe Home Guard money, and I don't even know what the balance is for. After being a customer for more than six years, I expected much better account management and communication. Their billing system caused repeated problems, and now I'm the one having to deal with collections because of it. Very disappointing experience. read more

Started the service, regret it. Got bites more then before. After the first treatment it was worse, I never got bit just husband and son. By the next few days I had bites everywhere on legs. I called for additional follow-up service to my surprise they tried charging me again. I would not deal with type of service again. That's not how to handle business. They have the best customer service (every technician who has ever come to my home is kind, professional, and full of knowledge) of any pest control company out there. They automatically schedule service every three months, so you don't have to put it on your calendar as a "to do" thing, which makes regular maintenance easy and convenient. A salesperson knocked on my door and spent 20 mins trying to get me to lock in a year long contract on the spot. Do not fall for these predatory sales tactics of the urgency and too good to be true deals!! Read through every contract if you are planning to sign. Seeing from previous reviews, this has been going on for years and nothing has been addressed regarding the sales tactics and lack of transparency. I asked the salesperson for a business card so I can do research on my own and he refused to give me a card and continued asking me to lock in the deal on the spot. I asked for the business card three times before I said I refuse to make a decision today and he said "then the rate will be $400, to each their own I guess." I still never got the business card and felt very angry at the lack of respect shown just because I didn't want to fall for a year long contract on the spot. I was planning to do my own research then make a decision but the salesperson decided for me that I will never be utilizing this business. read more
