Called to get my lease inspected before turn in and made an appointment. When I arrived I waited for over an hour for someone to tell me they don't even do inspections at the dealer. They went on to tell me I could leave my least at the dealer and someone could come inspect it in a few days but any damages that may occur in the parking lot I would be responsible for! Between the sales team (Jim Cici), finance, and the shop - they were speedy in meeting our vehicle needs. So I come in today on a Saturday because I was talked into buying this road hazard tire warranty when I purchased my car. I normally get these the same day I buy the car from Discount Tire center and I'm in an out in an hour. I've sat here for 2 hours because they can't get ahold of the warranty company, claiming they must be closed, offering to "sell me a tire" at $120 installed, and I can call the warranty company for reimbursement. Really? You don't know what this warranty company will and won't approve for road hazard conditions? I've wasted so much time with this dealership being told one thing in the finance office only to find out it's something else. I was not thrilled in the way my name was primary on all the paperwork, which has lead to me being the one who gets all the parking tickets in the mail instead of my husband. In the process of writing this review the service advisor walks out to tell me not to worry about the tire, they'll take care of it and submit the paperwork on Monday, they know it'll be covered (DUH!) I had originally selected 2 stars, but because of that quick change I am updating the review to 5 stars. I think they've finally begun to realize as a car dealership the service after the sale is what leads to repeat sales. I absolutely HATE GM products, but my husband adores Chevy products, so he got this car. I've been vocal in my preference to Subaru & Ford the whole time we've had this car. I took my vehicle to Webb to determine why the coolant fluid was leaking. I was told it was my water outlet pipe and that it wasn't covered under my warranty (which it actully was) and it would be $600 to fix. I was charged a diagnostic fee (also covered under my warranty) and I took it somehere else. I then found out it wasn't in fact my water outlet pipe but my thermostat housing. Had I stayed at Webb at let them "fix" my water outlet pipe and still continued to leak, I would've wasted thousands of unnecessary dollars. They disregarded my warranty and failed to solve the problem. They clearly tried to take advantage of me. I am very displeased with my service and Webb Chevy and will not be returning. read more

I just took my Corvette in for an oil change and the porter couldn't figure out how to start it. The battery was low on the key fob and I told him that. I asked them for a new battery and they said they would have to send someone to go buy a new one as they don't keep CR2023 batteries in stock. I WAS THEN TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO A COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC ON THE CAR FOR THE LOW PRICE OF $170. FOR A LOW BATTERY KEY FOB?!?! I got into my car and put the fob in the glove box as that is where the computer in the car can detect the key fob, started it right up and drove away. I will never go back to this dealership as they are not only incompetent , but they try to rip you off. I was planning on buying a new Corvette as mine is a 2012, but it won't be from Webb. Service manager Devin and service writer Tony lied directly to my face with several instances of why parts were needed. After contacting GM for the same explanation of additional parts for a simple repair, nothing could be provided. Simply put if your not educated on cars and need repairs, i would suggest getting a second shop to verify parts needed any labor time. On 1/24/17 my vehicle was due for lease turn-in so off my husband and I went to return the vehicle. What a pain in the rear.... we were greeted by a enthusiastic sales guy until I said I was there to turn the car in- he said well, I have to see if we can take it... ummm excuse me Jim- I got the vehicle in another state and have leased vehicles for years and never had a problem when it came time for turn in. No, there wasn't- I wrote my name, account #, checked the boxes that the mileage was right and no damage was on the vehicle. We walked around the car and no damage was noted, the mileage was written down and agreed upon. I recently moved to the area and needed a repair on my 2019 Silverado. I had previous work done at Webb for rodent damage to my wiring and I was happy with that. I had a new issue with my hood latch sensor. Even though the hood was secure, the display indicated the hood was open. Seems like an easy fix. Hood latch issues do occur on Silverado's and since the sensor is integrated with the latch, the latch needs to be replaced. I called a service advisor for an estimate of the cost for replacement. I was told around $125 plus the cost of the latch. Seemed okay to me so I made an appointment. I go to drop off the car and find out there is a $179 diagnostic fee to determine the cause of the issue. I was told by the service advisor that it is for an hour of diagnostic and $179 was the hourly rate for a technician. So, I am going to have to pay $179 for them to look at the display and say "yep, its the hood latch"? It seems a little ridiculous and I left to find a new dealer. I am going to drive an hour to the place I purchased the car from and work with them. I will also not purchase my next car from Webb. read more

Drove up to buy a truck. Pretty much had deal worked out. The person I had an appointment with, was not there when I arrived. Dealt with another salesman that was not told anything about my conversations, and numbers discussed over the weekend. Brings out a sheet with nothing even close to the numbers discussed with the other salesman. On top of it all, they tack on $995 charge for clear coat/seat protection service. My 16 Silverado was brought in for warranty repair, the service writer claimed the repair was not covered. I made it clear that the warranty paperwork covered the items. I ended up taking the vehicle home and having the repair done. A month later the service manager Devin calls and tells me the item is covered and wanted to do the repair. After being informed the repair was done, Devin claims he will submit for reimbursement but doesn't think they will cover it. It's been 3 months, no payment. Webb Chevy sold this truck to me as well as the warranty. Never do business with again. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I definitely would. My husband and I just left this place with the intent on test driving the yellow and black 2012 challenger, with 25,000 miles and had a hit in the rear, that has been sitting in their lot for quite some time. The manager in the back office threw out some numbers which equaled to $24,000 more than the price of the vehicle--which was $27,400. They ran out with a little paper which said that after our trade-in and, worst case scenario, an interest rate of 24%, that the payments would be $744 for 60 months. Plus, in order to be able to TEST DRIVE, we must agree to those numbers because "you know, we must do this to help preserve the car." We felt that these actions were racially motivated. They went back in the office, closed the door, and discussed (we know because we could still hear them) figures that would dissuade us from test driving the vehicle. Just so they know, my husband was actually going to buy that car from them as it is THE car that I wanted!!! We will NOT recommend this place and take our business elsewhere. read more

Let me begin with saying this - I have purchased more than 15 cars over the years, mostly from used car dealers. This has been, by far, the worst dealer experience I have ever had in my life. In November 2015, after a few weeks of searching for a black 2012 Ford Fusion Sport AWD, I received an alert that one had come up for sale locally. I called Webb Chevrolet in Plainfield, IL and scheduled a visit to come look at the car. I had done business with Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, IL in the past and it was a good experience, so I figure why would it be any different at one of their other dealerships? The test drive went great, the car seemed mechanically sound, the entire purchasing process was pleasant, my salesman Jim C. was great, and the staff even stayed late after they closed in order to complete the deal and let me take the car home that night. I was happy to have found the exact car I had been looking for and thought I had found another quality dealership to do business with. On the way home, I was able to get out on the open highway. As soon as I hit 55mph, I felt a noticeable vibration which I figured was probably just an out-of-balance tire. When I got home and looked at the car in my garage under the lights, I found that the passenger side ground effect was missing. These aren't deal-breakers and I figured I'll call the dealer in the morning and we'll figure something out since I just bought the car. I called the next morning, talked to my salesman, and he took down my issues so he could discuss with Jason, the used car manager. A couple days go by and Jim C. and I sync back up. I'm told that Jason insisted that the side skirt was definitely on the car when they had it on their lot and that it must have fallen off on my way home and that it will not be covered by the dealership. Now if you know anything about these cars, you know that these side skirts are both bolted and affixed by double-sided tape. I highly doubt one would fall off unless I loaned my car to the Duke brothers, I mean I simply drove the car home 20 miles on an interstate. I decided to ask if they could produce the pictures that they used in their ad online so we could look at them together to figure out what happened. I was told the pictures had been deleted since the car had been sold. I find that unlikely since it had only been about 3 days since purchase, but I don't work for Webb Chevrolet, nor do I know of their network storage retention policies. Sensing the defensive stance that the dealership was taking, I decided to move on and go ahead and purchase a new side skirt and have it installed. The vibration was the next item to address and on the surface, it should have been the simplest issue to fix. I took the car in to get my tires balanced and had an alignment performed for good measure thinking this would fix the vibration. I drive off only to find that the vibration is still there. My next step was to schedule an appointment with my regular Ford dealer, Haggerty Ford in West Chicago, IL. In addition to the vibration that I needed them to diagnose, I had noticed that the car struggled to gain traction during the 1st snow of the year a couple of weeks prior so I asked them to take a look at that as well. Only the front wheels seemed to be spinning and the AWD system never seemed to engage. Upon inspection, the technicians found that the AWD system was completely inoperable and looked like it had possibly been towed on a dolly at some point. Since it is an AWD car, it is known that you must use a flatbed for towing. Had it been snowing out when I test drove, I would have noticed this, but it wasn't so I didn't. When they road force balanced my wheels, they found that both of the rear wheels on my car were slightly bent, which is what was causing the vibration. It has been quite a journey, but two new wheels, a new painted side skirt, and basically a brand new AWD system later, my car is finally back to 100% where it should have been before it was placed on Webb Chevrolet's used car lot in the first place. Thankfully, the factory powertrain warranty will cover the AWD system, but the bent wheels and missing side skirt, of course, were not covered by the warranty. Still, through all of this, I wanted to give the folks over at Webb the chance to make an effort to salvage the relationship. I talked to Jim C. at least four times on the phone, requested the used car manager, Jason A., call me to discuss the situation, and even emailed the sales director, Jackie W., three times. No one was interested in helping me out except for Jim C. Unfortunately, he's just the salesman and was not able to do much for me, which is understandable. If the management is willing to let a repeat customer walk away over a mere $1900 (cost for 2 wheels, the new painted side skirt, the tire balance, and the alignment), then I simply cannot recommend anyone do business with this dealership. read more

I dropped my truck off for an oil change. The scheduled time was 8:45 AM. When filling out the drop off paperwork it asked me what time I desired to receive it back. I needed to go out of town immediately following so I indicated noon. I received no calls from them when I was leaving work around 11:15 so I called on my way to pick up, and they told me 30 minutes. I showed up 30 minutes later and it wasn't ready. I was a little annoyed, but they assured me it would be ready soon. I waited in the waiting area around 15 minutes. When they brought my paperwork and keys to me they told me that they weren't charging me because they didn't realize that I had indicated a time when I dropped it off. I looked at the clock in my truck when I left and it was 12:05. 5 minutes late and they didn't charge me a cent; I thought that was pretty awesome of them. read more

Very disappointed with my overall experience here. At first I felt it went great when I was dealing one on one with the salesmen and the sales manger who is the nephew of the owner. However when it came to to finalize which vehicle I was going to purchase, and the Traverse from Webb Chevrolet was #1 on the list, the follow up was horrible. I took my car in for a recall and an oil change. I was supposed to get a car was with my oil change that never happen and I let my car there fir a few hours. I was like okay I have to bring it back tomorrow for the recall replacement they'll do it then. I drop the car off and tell the service guy directly I need the car washed they didn't do it yesterday. He looks me in the face and says it'll get done. I pick my car up later it still isn't washed. Now, a car wash is a pretty basic, easy thing, so if they can't get that right why would I trust them with mechanical repairs or let alone a car purchase. I will not be returning. read more

Cautionary Tale: We made the mistake of trusting this dealership thinking they would take care of us because we purchased our car from them. Brought car in when check engine light went on and noticed car was making strange noises and driving rough. Webb looks at car and asks what kind of gas we use. We explain that we purchase regular gas from Shell or BP. Webb says then it can't be bad gas but they can't find the problem. They ask to keep the car another night to look for "leaks." The next day, we call at 4 to get a status update and by 5:30 we do not get a call, so we call back. We are told there is nothing wrong with the car. They say they are going to charge us half off for service ($83). Upon picking up the car and driving it home, which is about 20 minutes away, car sounds like it is a motorcycle, has difficulty shifting gears, and sounds like it's going to die when we are barely accelerating. It sounds worse and is driving worse than when we brought it in yesterday. So, now we are without a car for another day and in search of a skilled mechanic who can actually fix our car. Unless you would like to pay $80 for a car wash and a car that is running poorer than when you first brought it in, bring your car elsewhere. read more

From recommendation I took my car here since the Chevy dealership in Naperville had wronged me too many times. I took my car there and they pulled up my warranty and helped fix a few different issues in my car. On one occasion they claimed to have fixed my stero while it was under warranty and then after my warranty expired a few days later it did not work again. They were kind enough to fix it once more the right way and I haven't had problems. But this isn't the highlight of my review. I always thought they were ethical and a good reliable shop to go to, always upfront with costs and flexibility. I took my car in for a check engine light and they fixed it no problem. But they had to run a diagnostic on my car and found a "leak in the transmission line" quoting me 15 hundred dollars... being a college student working minimum wage this was something I wasn't prepared for. I got a second opinion from all transmission world where they very quickly found told me it was for sure just an oil leak. Why would a dealership shop lie to my face about the problem. I changed my own oil and confirmed the oil leak, from the mass amounts of oil under my car. I don't know what kind of mechanic can't tell the difference between transmission fluid and oil but be skeptical of their mechanics you might get a big bill for something that isn't even wrong. I'm so mad. I never leave a review and had to for this place. They called me because I was looking for a truck. Not even their sales person called. A secretary did and didn't even identify herself as so. I told her what I want, specifically looking for, and what i can afford. She told me she had it all and they just got 3 truck loads in of what i wanted. Emailing and calling me to come in. Finally I tell her I'll come look and she gives me to a sales person giving me a "VIP" treatment she says. They hardly talked to us. Kept trying to get me to sit down and talk when I already specifically told someone what we want. I was looking for a Chevy 1500 and the first truck they show me is a GMC while it was being worked on in the shop. Door basically falling off. Couldn't tell me a price on it or for a price on one we found in the lot on our own . Both sales people kept walking away and couldn't answer one question. And we're gone talking to each other more than they were talking to us. We left not even seeing one of the vehicles we wanted with one of the specs I specifically told the lady we need. I took the car in to get serviced and they told me the car was fixed and there was a bent spark plug they had replaced and my air flow had a cut in it they replaced that as well, as im on my way jome i noticed the car still gad a misfire going on which is why i took it in the first place. So i take it back and they tell me its another $600 for more spark plugs to be checked but i thought there was no more codes left and it was fixed. So i asked the head mechanic MIKE what happened and he said when you drove it outta here it must have caused another problem... i noticed it right after i left the dealership though... Back in March of 2020 I brought my 2012 Chevy Traverse in because I was told it need a timing chain replacement and I was best of at a dealership. Wow was my mechanic wrong. I ended taking it to Webb Chevy and let them do it and they charged me roughly $3,500. Shortly after they did the timing chain I got a message of low oil. When I went to check it I found out that they didn't even reinstall the dipstick. Then some time toward the end of July or beginning of August my check engine light came on. I believe it took this long only because I wasn't driving in to work everyday. So I took it back there. First they told me it was my battery, $300, then they said it was the battery. Told me they could re-diagnose it for another charge. I just do it and then they said it was the alternator and would be $1,400. I decided to have my mechanic do it. Shorty after that the check engine came back on and when I tool it back they said it was still my charging system. Now fast forward to the end of December I started to hear a noise and the said that my pistons are shot and would need to have a new engine and exhaust put in $10,000. Now I may not be a mechanic by trade but I am extremely mechanically inclined and have not had less then 240,00 miles on any of my previous Chevy vehicles. But consider they didn't install the dipstick and could properly diagnose the problem when it was brought back to them it makes me wonder what they messed up when they did the timing chain. To make matters worse when I was called by the Service manager to make sure I new what the problems were, because I picked it up after service hours, and he tried to make me feel it was my fault even after I was trying to explain all this to him.
