I feel very fortunate indeed to have Wedgwood Smiles as my dental "headquarters." The place is run very efficiently. But most of all, both Dr. Cruz and Dr. Lee are simply fine professionals with empathy. I just don't think you could find a better place. Even the desk people are so gracious and kind. I just had a cracked tooth pulled. The tooth had decayed because of the crack. And during the entire procedure, Dr. Lee was so thoughtful concerning my needs. Money-hungry! Brand new in the chair for 30-seconds before Dr. Kim tried to sell me Invisalign. Told her I've already had them and she insists I need it again? Hasn't put a finger in my mouth yet but wants to sell me a second set of braces! Amazing! Staff is all very friendly, but I did overhear how the assistants are retraining out of the field on account of the pay/livability? Office is clean but wasteful. Why is everything pink? It's cute, but I would rather not pay extra for pink dressing, floss, etc. It's not well branded enough to make sense - it's just pink gloves for the sake of pink gloves? $$ Awesome! Basic math is not their strong suit. Double-check everything! Verbal, written - everything! 50 + 60 has never equaled 150.... They will do anything in their power to keep your deposit, regardless of who cancels the appointment or why. You will not get it back and there is a good chance they will "forget" to apply it to your visit cost. Zero diligence is done beforehand with insurance. They will tell you, "it's just an estimate," so you're 'not surprised' when your insurance doesn't cover it. They will not call your insurance beforehand - it is NOT an estimate, it is a wish or a prayer at best? When I asked outright, "Did you do ANY diligence at all before starting this procedure?" the front desk lady just laughed awkwardly and insisted that I pay. DO NOT GO HERE - HORRIFIC BUSINESS PRACTICES Wedgwood Smiles is extremely anti-family care and anti-community. This community deserves better than you. I needed to start my dental plan back up and chose Wedgewood Smiles because they seemed like a sweet, local, community-minded spot. Making my first appt wasn't difficult. They had plenty of availability. Something I now can only assume is because they lack business. My first few appts were normal. The place is small, the furniture is old, nothing modern about this place, but I chalked that up to the small-local-community aesthetic. The front desk people are nice, although a bit distracted and oftentimes no one is at the desk. On my second visit, I walked into no one around and a lights-off, dark lobby. It felt like I walked into a stranger's house. The cleanings were fine. The conversation was typically bland. Nothing special. On my final appt I needed to cancel and reschedule due to a work conflict. It's EOY at my work and things are hectic. My appt was for Monday, I called over the weekend, left a detailed message and then called again on Monday to confirm they got my message since no one followed up. By the time I got a hold of someone, it was clear that they don't check their messages (I have receipts for all of my interactions). I was informed that I would have a cancellation fee b/c they require 24 hours' notice. No mention of how much that fee would be. I said I did call over 24 hours ago and left a message. I did not know that since they are closed Friday-Sunday, those days don't count. Closed 3 days a week and an appt on Monday....doesn't leave me a lot of options. Despite that, I still did my best to do the right thing. Next thing I know I get the driest, most tone-deaf text that I have a balance of 100$ for my cancellation! 100$! The highest cancellation fee I've ever heard of. I talked to several people over the phone and then through text, I assume because they got tired of dealing with me and wanted to just text. But ultimately, the dentist is unwilling to waive the fee. Their cancellation policy and the fee is not on their website, nor is it ever mentioned until it's too late. Waiving the fee for a first-time offense (an offense I did everything I could to avoid) is the bare minimum a practice could do when they claim to be so family and local community-oriented. I hope this review helps someone make an informed decision about where they get dental work. No medical process should be this disheartening. Do better, Wedgwood Smiles. Again, this community deserves better than you. *To address their response on other reviews* 1. The receptionist offered to ask the dentist if he'd waive the fee. I never knew that was an option but did agree to her doing that. "demand" is not how I'd describe that, but that could be subjective. 2. The summary of my text(s) is, "These are bad business practices. I will leave a review, but I will go ahead and pay this". It's all in the texts. No need to lie. 3. I did cancel a previous appt cuz I had Covid. You are correct. I called and did not no-show, as my phone log can prove. 4. You are telling the truth about having clients sit in the dark. I had my first appt with Wedgwood Smiles this week. I went in for a new patient check up, cleaning and X-rays. Had a great experience overall! Everyone was very polite and friendly, from the front desk receptionist to the dental assistant, and Dr. Lee. I felt like they were very thorough with everything they did. I was actually a little nervous to visit this place based on some of the reviews, but I've been multiple times now and have only had good experiences. Each time I was promptly seen and Dr. Lee and her assistant/hygienist were so gentle and kind. My young son was nervous and they were great with him. I also believe they have read these reviews because after making each appointment I received an immediate email confirmation. A few days prior to my appointment I received a phone call reminding me of my appointment, and then the morning of, I received a text. I did ask them to double-check what my insurance would cover when I booked the appointments and the receptionist did so on the phone with me. I haven't received any surprise bills. I actually was offered a discount to prepay for a filling and did so. I would absolutely recommend this place. read more

I really like a dental appt that starts on time and very little lingering between activities when I am squeezing in an appt before work, Wedgewood smiles staff is highly efficient, friendly staff, and of course the main point, they do a great job with the checkups and cleaning. Just avoid. From the transitory staff to the mystifying, six-months-late surprise billing, to the careless, disinterested treatment, nothing about this place is compelling. While I appreciated their proximity and Dr. Cruz's availability when my bridge became loose, the bridge was recemented so crooked I ended up taking a dremel tool to it on my own in order to correct the appearance. Not everyone is an aesthetic dentist, so especially if you're having issues with your front teeth, I'd keep scrolling. Later, full 3D digital images were taken of my teeth and an extraction of my bridge was planned because the doctor said my roots were both destroyed. A model was ordered for 800 bucks, and that turned out not to be the case. Or maybe it was, because farther down the line the bridge fell out again while in California, and another dentist re-cemented it (straight this time) until I could get back to Wedgwood Smiles. Dr. Cruz then cemented my loose bridge so poorly it fell out on the drive home. I ended up having to pay for yet another dental appointment with a different dentist one day later. Combine that with the sense that they really just couldn't care less about you -- despite their automated and absolutely incessant text-nagging and cleaning prompts -- and you have a pretty lackluster experience. Today I received a bill for a no-show appointment which I canceled FIVE days prior. They called me before sending this bill and I told them I'd canceled by phone...yet they sent the bill anyway. Today I called them and told them I have phone records showing my call to them and the woman said, "Oh yeah, then never mind that...but you do owe $65 for something else." Me: "What else could I possibly owe you for; you collect every single visit at the end of the appointment." Her: "Yeah it's from September." Gentle reader, we're almost through July right now. Her explanation? Covid. Okay, sure. No specifics, no details, on this bill and nothing in writing...but she advises me I had better pay this verbal invoice, or they'd report me to a collection agency. If this all sounds a bit screwy to you, you're probably used to competent healthcare providers. read more

well, they just charged me $100 for not canceling an appointment. $100 I didn't have. I had talked to someone previously, a few months back, about a different appointment to get a mouth guard, that I said I wasn't going to be going to. but apparently they still had me scheduled for the cleaning even though I said I wasn't going to make that other appointment. because I didn't have insurance anymore. but they kept me on my cleaning appointment, then billed me for missing it. i will not ever be going here again. id recommend going elsewhere. read more

I had an excellent experience with the dentists and staff at Wedgwood Smiles. It was my first visit and, as an older woman on Medicare without dental insurance currently, I had urgent need of a tooth extraction. Wedgwood Smiles gave me an appointment in a timely way, Dr. Lee did the initial assessment and then was able to do the extraction and bone graft the same day. Their work was excellent. Aftercare instructions were simple and clear. I was amazed that after the appointment as my mouth regained feeling, I did not have pain or experience bleeding or swelling. They charge a $100 dollar cancellation fee, and when I showed up to my appointment to realize that my insurance wouldn't work, I had to choose between a $200 appointment or $100 cancellation, not a real choice in my opinion. read more
