I'm so excited about the new addition to the Westwood University Drive shopping area! I usually frequent the Chestnut Hill location but I was already shopping in the area so I figured I could make one less stop. This location is huge! I suppose they have much more real estate to expand than Chestnut Hill. The rows of endless registers ready for the hoards of customers. The shopping experience was pleasant as usual with the plethora of choices before me. The aisles also seem to have more breathing room in between so it felt less like bumper carts. (This could also be because I didn't visit during peak hours...) I also want to note that they have a very small liquor store location on the right most side of the store, but they only carry beer and wine. The Chestnut Hill location has an entire floor dedicated and carry all sorts of spirits. Anyway this is still a relatively new location so I can't wait to come back and visit again when I'm in the area! read more

I drove a loopy way home just to stop by the new Wegmans for my 4 oz bottle of organic almond extract. Terrific service offered to walk me over from the baking aisle, and then went out back to ask where it might be when the location stated on the app was found to be wrong. We ended up locating it in the organic seasoning aisle. Yay! $5.99 for 4 oz vs $4.99 for an ounce of the usual brand; talk about a no-brainer! read more

I want to compliment the Wegmans in Westwood for exceptional service during the pandemic. They only allow a certain amount of customers in the store at one time. They have a separate line for the instacart and pick up folks. I only had to wait for 25 minutes and I was able to do my shop efficiently and get out quickly. ( boo to the stupid couple in front of me for not wearing masks and smoking a disgusting cigarette and disposing of your distrusting butt on the floor... spreading your disgusting germs... you are disgusting and so so stupid!!!!)). Also shame on the even more stupid people for disposing of the your gloves and masks in the parking lot fir the staff to pick up... you all don't want to know what I'm hoping and thinking will come your way for being so selfish!! Staff did a great job keeping people moving in and out if the store. It's not a good situation, but I do appreciate all the extra safety precautions and being able to find most of the things I needed. Love Wegmans but this is solely a splurge trip when I do go, I do not do normal weekly grocery shopping here (too expensive) but when I do go I have many favorites I pick up (like del mange pink pineapple), I will say on a Saturday early afternoon more than once onion rolls at bakery already sold out and they normally have very nice large honey crisp apples, last few trips (within weeks of each other) they were pretty beat up (bruised and pitted). read more

I've always thought Wegmans was an exceptional grocery store. Throughout the pandemic they've continued to prove why they're one of the best. The store is clean and always stocked with fresh bakery items and other foods. The staff always seem to have a smile on their faces and are approachable if you have questions or need help finding something. I'd highly recommend checking out their subs. You can get it custom made or pick one of their premade. The wine selection is insane! They have a wine for everyone and are happy to help you select one based on your preferences or to pair with a meal. read more

so sad, this place has definitely gone downhill quick. most of what said in previous reviews...i now find little trace of: umbrellas on rainy days, cashiers coming out of their aisle looking to ring you up, etc. to be fair, they carry a good variety of food within each category, so i'd still shop there. but many times now in recent history, i would come across situations where one might not feel like a valuable patron. the guy behind the sushi counter looks very miserable. couple times now i got there in the 5-6pm time frame, he never looked up from what he was doing, it being prepping a stockpile, or cleaning up for the day. even if you were ready to leave, you could have given me - a customer standing there looking at you for the last 10 min - a heads up. why didn't i just get his attention, you'd ask? i don't want to feel like a bother, nor do i want him to curse me under his breath. i can live without their sushi nowadays, custom order or not. it isn't the same as before anymore. other quality issues: couple times recently i got their organic peaches, once in a wooden box, once just picked a couple from the pile. both times, peaches were brown from the inside when i was ready to eat - first time i might have left them out over a week from purchase, but second time i made sure i cut one up shortly. same thing. could be end of season, but i had to throw more away than i could eat, that's a waste of money! they weren't even on sale. meant to send them the pic with a complaint; never gotten around to do it. also noticed their pricings on prepped/cooked produce items are a bit...high. i get it you need to cover overhead, but it's more than a little bit higher than if you were to prep and cook it yourself. it's double the price and half the amount kind of pricey. but it's a good thing so now i won't be tempted. check out lines used to be very efficient, now it's more or less the same as Shaws - more shoppers than cashiers, resulting in longer wait. couple times i got help packing my bags, i'd wonder if they ever received the most basic training, common sense almost, on Packing 101. and even though it wasn't much ($5 out of $150+ weekly shopping), the coupons have stopped coming in the mail, and now it's just one fewer reason why i should make a stop here. i can always go back to my trusty Stop & Shop, you know. get it together! you're falling apart! read more

Ordered catering for a party was super disappointed. I ordered pasta salad and they gave me the plastic container it comes in- no bowl or garnishes just what I could have picked off shelf. Also the pin wheel sandwich plate looked amazing on the website and it was a joke when we saw it they were so tiny. The harvest salad was good and in a pretty bowl. For the price and presentation I would strongly not recommend. It was easy to order and ready but no! I don't recommend catering. read more

My wife and I go out of our way to shop here. The store has tons of options of pretty much whatever you want/need. They have lots of different types of fresh vacuum sealed meats. Great steak options, great deli, great cheese section, great prepared foods (salad bar, soups, wings, etc) and they even have their own sub/pizza shop which also has wicked good food. Huge beer and wine section with lots of hard to find items but no liquor. The wine section is huge, ranging from very inexpensive to very expensive wines (so expensive they have their own room). They do regular wine tasting as well. We bought one of these lemon cakes just to try and we were blown away by how amazing it was. The consistency of the cake all the way to the level of lemon flavor was perfect. Definitely the best lemon cake I've ever had. On top of all the great food items, the staff is very helpful, kind, abundant and friendly. Definitely recommend! read more

Wegmans is better than Whole Foods. The only reason I go to Whole Foods is because of their wider selection of produce especially for their mushrooms. I wish Wegmans had a better selection of mushrooms but their seafood section is really good. Wegmans is where I do my weekly grocery shopping and this location has almost everything you might be looking for. The staff are also very friendly and very helpful. read more

Three separate trips. The food court is top notch and good. A lot of good vegetable options and meat options (vegetarian too). Although it can get pricey if paying by the pound (the broccoli always kills me) it's definitely worth a go. Fast and delicious. My only downside is they use a lot of soybean oil, which I'm not a huge fan of. read more

Being Texan I'm spoiled with HEB grocers, wegmans was as close as the NE could produce as far as alright grocery stores. This store is overrun by Instacart shoppers now. Half of them don't wear masks effectively, the rest don't care about social distancing. I have to try and stay out of the way of these people who are looking at their phone and don't care about other shoppers trying to do their own shopping. It's a supermarket. You need to get familiar to be comfortable with the set up but as is every place everywhere. It has a nice food court type thing. Think Whole Foods but smaller food section bigger super market. read more

The short version is that it is a really good store with some huge flaws. They have above and beyond most grocery stores... and the choices go from daily staples to fancy cheese, meats, and beer/wine. The prices are usually good. I love their selection on home decorations and kitchen items... usually priced even better than amazon! That said, the Westwood store has one of the worst produce sections around. I'd say 40% of the time I've been it has had "fresh" stuff. Other times it's clearly old, and I've seen stuff I'd consider actually rotten being sold. Other times stuff just isn't there, and not just the obscure stuff. So it's a love/hate relationship. May switch to Whole Foods... which is just a 7-8 minute drive away. Just lazy and don't want to learn a new store layout... hopefully they can up their produce game. read more

Love, love, love this Wegmans! I originally frequented the Chestnut Hill location, but it doesn't even come close. Besides, this one is better for my commute. I like to shop here in the mid to late evening. They're open until midnight. There usually are very few folk here at that time, so getting around and getting around quickly is NOT a problem for me. The items for which I shop were previously found at four different stores. With Wegman's selection, I only have to visit two places! It makes things so much easier. A bonus is that I can grab a quick bite to eat while relaxing in the cafe if I choose to do so before or after shopping. This is one of my new happy places!! read more

Wow - so impressed with Wegmans - got to go to a few in New York and New Jersey and was so happy they have found a home in Westwood, MA. I would compare Wegmans like Whole Foods on Steroids. The place is huge - but the variety, selection, and specialized departments outshine Whole Foods by a mile. Like Whole Foods, expect to spend a little when you go there. Any kind of food that is organic, pure, fresh and quality driven - Wegmans has it. I loved walking through the Vegetarian, Organic and specialty sections. The Wine section is spectacular - and if you have the time (and wallet) go into the chilled specialty wine. You want to pay $599.99 for a bottle of the most exclusive wine - you will find it there. Then after you buy that wine - stop in the vegetable section and pick out a few truffles (the real thing for $999.99 a pound). Say what!!! I fell in love with the cheese, deli, seafood, vegetable sections - AND the convenience food to take home or eat there is top notch. A true destination place. We plan to go the night before Thanksgiving, have a meal there and then shop for incredible items to serve at our home party. Now the SUPER A++ mark - plenty of check out lines - that ARE open when there are customers - they really know how to keep the lines small and moving. I hope that continues as they settle in. Horrible shopping experience today. I will not be back. There were so many Instacart shoppers towing multiple carts, face in their phones not watching where they were going, and standing in front of items without any regard for other people. They stand there blocking the shelves while they search for their orders. I would say 85% of shoppers in there were buying for Instacart. Secondly, there was a woman shopping without a mask. Perhaps in other states that's fine, but in MA it's a requirement. No one from Wegmans said or did anything. I think she was also a personal shopper. Totally unsafe and putting others at risk. The place wasn't very clean for being early morning when you Would think they would have cleaned overnight. I just bought my few items and got the heck out of there. Last time for sure. read more

Love Wegman stores! This one is the newest in Massachusetts. I'm not sure but it looks larger then the other ones. It was snowing pretty hard, but I was impressed that they had kept the store open. They were cleaning their parking lot and pathway to the store better then the freeway! The over all view of the store is WOW! Everything very tidy, aisles are wide and not over crowded with items on sale. They were very well stocked up too. I also love their $5.00 coupon off of $25.00 purchase. read more

I am a regular Wegmans shopper. I have 6 stores near where I live in Virginia and shop there weekly. So when I travel for business and can find a Wegmans within an hours drive, I am a very happy traveler. I was staying at a Residence Inn with a full kitchen for a week, so having my regular foods around made my trip even easier. Being in New England, I was able to have lobster and side dishes for dinner every night from the prepared foods and food bar section. Are these the best meals you will ever eat out in a restaurant? Probably not. Are they good quality meals for a quick, healthier option while on business travel? Absolutely. The store is organized differently than my main store, but I was able to find everything I needed using the Wegmans app. And Wegmans customer service has never been beat in my book. No matter what store I'm in, their staff is top notch. read more

while I was checking out my order, my three-year-old son was trying to help put food on to the belt and pass it to the cashier and she snapped at us and said that all the food has to go onto the belt. Then she was huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes to other cashiers about me and my son then, when she was almost done with the order, she looked at me and said you can go to a different cashier next time... I was blown away... I was speechless for a moment, and then, as she grabbed the second bag and handed me the receipt. She said yeah, I'm gonna let management know that I'm not gonna service you again all because my son who has some learning disabilities and his three years old wanted to help out food up and hug his mom...then as I went and complained at the desk I turned to leave and she smiled and said have a nice day in a condescending tone......her name is Mary and is a older women with brown hair and glasses ....i warn to all other parents who have kids that have either a disability or is being a kid. read more

After writing my previous review, we sent Wegman's an e-mail to report our experience with the rotten produce. They sent us a $20 gift card, which was great customer service and we were very happy with the response. Good on them. Unfortunately they do not seem to have addressed this issue with their exotic produce at all. They've stocked mangosteens a handful of times since I left the previous review, and each time they have looked exactly the same (completely dried out and rock hard with white, fuzzy mold growing on them). I see them left out on display for days and days after mold has started growing them. We also purchased a tamarillo (again, never having seen one before, we just relied on our judgment and the fact that it was out on display). Unfortunately upon opening it up at home it was brown and stinky on the inside. They're great about giving refunds for their rotten produce, but it makes you not even want to try their great selection of interesting fruit. Other than this, everything about this store is great, and all of their more "typical" produce has been good. I just wish they addressed this issue that they've now heard about multiple times. read more

Kinda like shopping at Whole Foods, but without the price tag. The set up definitely has WF feels. I come here pretty often to do my weekly food shopping. I usually find what I'm looking for, unless it's late on a weekend night, their stock gets low. If I'm ever craving oysters, I like to get them from the seafood counter ($1.50 per oyster). I've seen Standish Shore, Wellfleet, and Duxbury oysters. Their wine and beer selection is pretty big, recommend the pineapple moscato. Prepared food section is not bad either! Lots of options for salad bar and hot foods. Walking by the pizza always makes me hungry. Staff is always super friendly (deli, bread, seafood counter). Price wise I would still give it to Market Basket, but Wegmans takes the cake for service and atmosphere. read more

So disappointing, where should I start! Produce is absolutely awful! Not to mention two employees just standing around talking not replenishing the produce! They were in the way of the organic stuff so I just didn't even bother. Sushi was some of the worst I ever had! If you want good produce and sushi go to Whole Foods, by far the best! Bakery stuff isn't all that great either. Some stuff looks like it was left out for many days. I will say, they have a good selection of meats. That's about it. For starters, the good-the store is gorgeous inside, and very clean. Plus, they have many staffed check out lanes. Everyone is friendly. The beer and wine section is well stocked and surprisingly had great prices. The bad-the prices are pretty high for groceries especially for the prepared food ($15.99 per LB). The aisles seem very tiny too and the store itself is hard to navigate when it's busy because of this. The parking lot is a mess when it's busy as well. I think it needs to be at least 1/3 bigger in size to accommodate everyone when it gets busy. I went on a random Monday at 1:30 and it was packed. University Ave in general is a busy area. Am I seriously reviewing a grocery store? Yes. Why? Because Wegmans is the greatest store I have ever been to. Ever. I enjoy shopping here more than any other store that comes to mind - and not just grocery! I can't believe I get so excited about a grocery store, but I do, so here I am. The store itself is clean, well organized, and huge. Use the app so you don't get lost, which definitely happened to me the first few times I shopped here. The selection is incredible, I have never left without something I needed. Their organic selection is fantastic and reasonably priced. I also really enjoy their ready to go meals. They taste better than you would think and are a great (and healthier) option when you don't want to cook. The staff is also very friendly and their bagging skills have yet to be matched by any other store. I have recently moved to downtown Boston and live literally right across the street from Whole Foods. I believe the organic selection is much better at Wegmans than Whole Foods, not to mention it's much cheaper. I drive 35 minutes out of the city just to do my grocery shopping here once a week. read more

I think the Miami-onion sandwich rolls are also good as dinner rolls. I like to toast them. I see they're selling Yancy's fancy cheese curds again. I didn't see any loganberry juice in the soda section. Interesting hot sauces. marinades, and sodas from New York. The mozzarella sticks at the food bar are battered. This store has the most enthusiastic staff working for them. The first time I went in, a floral person was covering the fruit section and told me everything about the store after asking if I'd been there before. The selection of vegetables is better than most other grocery stores and if you are looking something that others don't have, you'll probably find it here. Other departments have a wide selection of items as well. I haven't tried the prepared or ready to cook items, but there is plenty to choose from. read more
