The…read morefirst time, I vocalized that I thought she was doing it wrong and the second time (a few months later), she admitted that she did. She suggested if we could do it like she did a year ago and I agreed. She put in the numbing drops first, but when I leaned back for her to do it again, she refused. I got so confused. She told me that she didn't want to put the drops in the same way she did literally seconds before. While arguing back and forth, it felt like someone was squeezing my eyes back into my eye socket. I went forward and kept repeating that my eyes felt weird, strange and hurt. I later realized that I had a bad reaction to the optic migraine and severe eye strain I had at the time because they messed up my prescription. She stood there, staring at me for 8-10 seconds, then slammed the dilation drops on her desk and said, "I'm just going to send you to a Retina specialist!" She ran out of the room to tell a Retina specialist (who she called her friend who she's known for years) that it was an emergency and I needed a full retinal exam. But she came back into the room to tell me that her friend is going to dilate me and rush me out the door, giving me less than 15 minutes to make a 25 minute trip. The receptionists of the Retina center I went to laughed when I told them that she sent me there for just a dilation and agreed that all I needed was a prescription. So, I went back to figure out what went wrong and when I walked up the building, the optician, Ed, tried to stop me from going into the building. Little did I know, Sarah spread lies about me that I refused her help amongst other lies. When I brought it up to Sarah in the lobby, she slammed her clipboard on the desk and acted like she wanted to fight me. I told her what Ed said and she said, "Oh he doesn't know anything." The lies. And the general manager, Ryan lied, telling me that he was there for both days and he didn't see anything that happened. He even dared me to call his superior about it. Sarah made multiple mistakes and unfortunately I had to pay for it when she turned everyone against me. The saddest thing? She knows that I have mental health issues yet she continued to attack me and MyEyeDr said that I am not owed an apology by anyone there. All of this started because I wanted a new prescription for my severe eye strain and optic migraine. Sarah said I couldn't get one from her, but as soon as I got my new glasses, my eyes felt better within hours. Sarah, you tried to hurt me, keep me in pain and even left on vacation for 2 weeks while I had to sit at home by myself doing nothing because my eyes hurt so much. What did I ever do to you for you to target me like this?

Dr. Cohen is clearly very passionate about what he does. He is deeply educated in all matters of the eye and his ability to explain a wide array of questions were done with an eagerness to inform that is rarely seen today. I truly appreciate that he took his time making sure I was could see absolutely perfect. As for the staff, they are equally as impressive and some of the sweetest folks you will get to work with. I am considering corrective eye surgery in the future and look forward to working with Dr. Cohen and his wonderful staff again. After calling several offices, I was unable to get an emergency appointment. Thankfully, when I called Capital Eye, Dr. Mark Gonzalez recognized that I needed to be seen and was able to schedule an appointment right away. Let me first mention that his staff was extremely nice (which is important since they are the first impression for a doctor) and they seem to work well together as a team. More importantly, I found Dr. Gonzalez to be WONDERFUL. He was very friendly, pleasant and thorough with my examination (even when he chastised me for wearing my lenses overnight). He explained my condition without me having to Google to understand and contacted me the next day to follow up. I really appreciate the care I received and I am happy to entrust my eye care to him. I would recommend Dr. Gonzalez (and his staff) HIGHLY.

(Looking back- I am happier it worked out this way- no flap!). I drove all the way from Vienna VA to go to this office and would absolutely say it was worth the drive. I would recommend to anyone who is considering lasik or prk to go here. Everything is very clean, and professional and they explain everything thoroughly and take their time. The office is very busy, but I never felt like I was just another patient. Something else I really liked about the office is that they keep it dark.(not DARK but they don't use a lot of bright fluorescent bulbs) Sounds weird, but after surgery or after having your eyes dilated this was a nice added bonus. A good example of how I felt they went the "extra mile" The fact that they did enough testing to decide that LASIK wasn't the best choice for me was impressive. I have had two doctors tell me that LASIK would be fine, but the testing they did was not nearly as extensive. I am grateful because I probably would have just gotten lasik, even though it isn't the best option for my eyes. Kind of scary to think there are doctors out there that will just do a surgery without paying that much attention. I am glad now that each time I thought I was ready for the surgery I chickened out, so I could finally find this office. Highly, Highly recommended!

When trying to ask when my daughter was eligible for her appointment, this was the front desk staff. Brought my child for appointment, the store kept the appointment and did not tell us to come back 2 weeks later when both our benefits would be eligible. After the exam, they told us there was an 100 dollar charge copay. This should have NEVER been a charge. They should have verified benefits completely, and notified before the exam, not after that it would be a charge. Then we would have had the option to do it a later date. I spoke to Kristina assistant manager-also argumentative and condescending, who would not give me a number or contact information to the manager or district manager. And when I described the behavior of her employees at the store and what they looked like, black female in her 20's, she got defensive and upset. It's your job as management to manage your employees that are considering, interrupting and rude. Kristina told me to google the number if I wanted to speak to a manager!!!! I called back to let them know the instructions they gave my daughter for contacts we NOT legible. See the picture. Also, my husband was supposed to be able to order contacts fully covered by insurance the day of the appointment. He said yes he wanted contacts ordered, but they were not!! So now we have ru pay completely out of pocket. This place is fraudulent. Don't use them. The staff is rude, and charges you without verifying your consent or insurance coverage. How can you say people owe you when they were told before the appointment that they were covered??? Don't go here. Dominique and Kristina employees should not be here.
