I have been searching to buy a Mazda CX-5 for a while. I have visited multiple dealerships and decided to buy my car from this place. The real offering here was the humane behavior. I did not find them just to want to make a sale as I observed in many other places. This was the characteristic of their other branch as well the North Shore Mazda. Dealing is a challenging task especially in the final stages. People and companies show interesting characteristics under such pressures. In my view regardless of the course of negotiations, it is important to keep it cool, respectful, humane and even fun. These were the characteristics I have found in this place that convinced me to move forward. Our agents were Alexa and Rodrigues, both great professionals. Alexa was very open and social as she even tried to find a language to speak with my 8-month daughter. Rodriguez was a reasonable dealer to whom you can talk and negotiate. Hope both of them success in their careers. In terms of finances, and comparing to other dealerships I think I got an equivalent deal. It was not the best financial offer to me but definitely was the one that felt the most right. read more

This was not just the worst car buying experience I have ever had but one of the worst experiences my fiancé and I have had. We wanted to see a vehicle which was not in the very small show room. When asking to see the car, the salesperson seemed offended that we didn't want to sit at his desk but wanted to look at an actual vehicle. When he finally took us outside to see a vehicle, he didn't have a key and went back inside. It started raining and after 10 minutes we went back inside. After 5 minutes, a manager asked what we wanted, and we said we were there to look at a car. She was quite rude, saying that she saw what happened with the salesperson, implying we did something wrong by asking to see a car. She then brought out a new sales person to show me the car. We got a great deal on a car with no pressure from either Carlos or the business manager Krystal, meaning we left feeling happy and not like we'd been scammed. We live a bit far away and he worked with us to ensure that we only had to come to the dealership for our test drive and then our purchase, very convenient for us. He even came in on a sick day to make sure we could pick up our car on the day we needed it because he knew we'd had to return the rental we'd gotten after a car accident. Other people at the dealership, including Sophie and Rodrigo, were very friendly and helpful on the phone when we called with questions. I called to make an appointment prior (which I highly recommend, when we were there on Saturday it was very busy!) - I made the appointment with Michael who I spoke to and dealt with from the start. When at the dealership negotiating a deal, it was stress free and we felt that Michael really listened to what we wanted and were looking for in terms of our next car. We ended up with the 2021 Mazda CX-5 (the next level up from our 2018 model), same payment, no $$ down. Great deal, we appreciate Michael working with us and making the experience easy and efficient. I would give 0 stars if that were allowed. I spoke specifically with a Sophi at Wellesley Mazda who confirmed they had a certain car listed on auto trader still available. I explained their location was difficult to get to for me, before committing most of my afternoon to travelling out to this two-bit dealership. Upon arriving, I waited more than 40 minutes just to get helped by a customer service rep. While she was friendly, she came back 20 minutes later to inform me they didn't have the car I called about, and then to try and show me a bunch of entirely different makes and models. No real apologies from the dealership. No offers to help me with a ride back after wasting my time. And they repeatedly ducked my phone calls after. Had a lease price in writing from them with all the details - trade in, money down, tax, documentation, etc. Agreed to do the deal, then told the manager wants to speak with me. He tells me there was a 'software glitch' and the lease price would be $70/month higher. The price they gave me was for the 'right stock number but the wrong residual value' of a car from the previous year that I'd looked at 6 months ago from this dealer location, along with a bunch of .00001 vs .0000139 type numbers that I assume were meant to confuse me. They told me they would open a case with the software company and get back to me the next day by noon, which still hasn't happened now two days later. If you think a price is too good to be true, it probably is. Don't waste your time at this dealer like I wasted mine. I felt the need to update my original review after the phone calls I received this afternoon. The internet sales manager, Greg called and left me a voicemail about my negative Yelp review. It was around a minute long of him yelling into the phone about my review and he continued to call 3 times after as well. And to top it all off he also left a voicemail at my boyfriends number as well since he purchased a car from the dealership earlier this year. The only thing I could imagine is that he gathered my number from the original paperwork I filed with the dealership. I truly have never seen anything like this. After I was refunded my money over the weekend I was hemming and hawing about returning to purchase a car but after this experience I will never do business there. The fact that you keep someone on staff who harasses people after a business transaction has fell through is disrespectful and unprofessional. NEVER go here. All they care about is new customers, not about retaining existing. I called in September asking to schedule an appointment to drop of my leased Mazda which was ending in October. The man who identified himself as a sales manager was beyond rude, and told me I needed to come on a weekday during work hours even though I work 9-5 in downtown Boston. I asked him why not the weekend? He said, "My priority during the weekend are the customers on the floor. I won't have time for you." When I pushed back and told him it's his company's car that I'm trying to return, and why couldn't he make time some point during the weekend for me, he was rude and started yelling at me. I KID YOU NOT. Wow, so I guess I don't matter anymore? I have told everyone I know NEVER to go to Wellesley Mazda and I suggest you do the same. The best part is, I called Quincy Mazda and they said yes immediately, let me come in on a Saturday and the process to hand in the keys took LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. The gentleman at Quincy laughed about how Wellesley treated me, and said "Yeah, I guess it's really difficult to fill out a form." Quincy Mazda will be my go-to if I ever go back for a Mazda. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS DEALER. Neither the experience nor there customer dealing is praiseworthy. They are rude and ruthless doesn't matter to them as in there words.. company pays them irrespective of sales or customer satisfaction. I was threatened and forced to sign the documents else they will forfeit initial deposit despite the cancellation policy which is garbage to there standards. I went to buy 2016 M3 itouring and while putting an initial deposit of 3K had signed an agreement of 0 APR but the document they gave me had written 'to credit approval', my mistake I didn't check then. Fast Forward 4 days, went to take delivery of the car after sending them all the required documents.. was refused delivery on basis we need to run few more checks, since I am a foreign national and blah blah, come again tomorrow. Next day again was forced to wait for 5 hours before finance guy showed up as he was busy with other customers.. He comes and say sorry since you are a foreign national and on visa we cannot approve you. You need to put another 2K+ and what we can do is give you 5.09% APR else your initial 3K will be forfeited. Take the deal or leave !!!! Was mentally harassed to sign the documents and since you don't want to loose your money not when you're out of school and it's your first job. Told them I don't have the money right now will visit next morning. Came with an acquaintance of mine, who is a citizen and he tried talking with manager but he was rude to him too. Talk with attorney general if you want, drag to court we don't care.. we have lawyers on payroll who take care of us. This car was bought from an another dealer of your color choice (red) so you own it, pay the whole money or take the deal. Refused to give me a copy of signed documents and as per there policy the written cancellation request, manager throws the paper in bin after verbal abuse. Some one please tell me how I own this car.. when I haven't bought it yet alas taken delivery? Reached out to Mazda Corporate, received a call from CA office and they told dealer is ready to give credit in terms of another car purchase. Told him with such a horrible experience I will never deal there and instead my initial deposit should be returned back to me. He never replied to mails and call back again. Mean time, I filed claim with my credit card company they understood my problem and credited me the money after 2 months but not the least I didn't get ripped for no mistake of mine. Worst they did doing extra credit enquiries 5+ which has screwed my history. Don't want to take there names but next time you want to buy a car, think many times before you go to these guys. I am just letting you all know what happened, Mazda do manufacture good cars but there dealers especially this ain't well educated. Will never buy any mazda after this bad experience of mine. They have represented the brand so poorly and thought me a lesson human values are worthless who knows nothing else than money. +5 stars for the car, -4 for the experience. Summary from below: they either cheated us, or made a mistake that they won't fix. Either way, don't buy here. I saw the negative Yelp reviews before we went in, but it was the closest to our house, and the experience was fine at first. I should have known better. Daniel was helpful and laid back, and we really liked the car when we test drove it. We decided about a month later that it was time and went in to buy. Each time we went, we had to wait around for someone to acknowledge us, with me having to flag someone down and have them please go find a salesperson for us. When we went in to buy, Paul helped us. It took longer than any other car buying experience I've had to finally get the deal done, and most of that time was waiting around *after* we had agreed on a price. I think we logged about 8 hours total in the dealership over 2 days *after* we'd shaken on a car. That was annoying but was still in the realm of acceptable experience. What put me over the top was that we agreed on a price for a certain car with certain features and a cargo net and wheel locks. We didn't want the cargo net or wheel locks. But the car they found for us had them and we had to get them if we wanted that car. Fine, I guess. But we didn't end up buying that car because they couldn't get it. So we bought a different car, same model, same features. No cargo net or wheel locks, but they charged us the same price. I emailed a few days after delivery to let them know about the mistake so that they could send us a refund for the cargo net and wheel locks. It took several emails until they even admitted that they made a mistake. But several weeks went by and no check showed up. Someone called a few weeks later as a routine post-sales call. I told them about the issue and they said they'd get on it. No response after that. I emailed AGAIN and they told me that I could come to the dealership M-F 9-5 and pick up a check. I work an hour away and can't get there 9-5, so I requested that they just mail me a check. No response. They made a mistake. They haven't fixed it Deliberate or not, it was their problem and they overcharged us. If they are going for repeat business, they will not get it this way. read more

Set an appointment to get the TPS recall completed on my Mazda 6 along with a synthetic oil change. 131 minutes into my oil change they tell me I'm all set but it turns out they forgot to do the TPS recall fix (main reason why I came in the first place). When I asked about it the service person at the desk denied that I spoke to her about it when I checked in. It was the person sitting behind her that fessed up and said she heard me confirm with the service person that they would do both the oil change and TPS recall fix. $75 for a synthetic oil change is reasonable but waiting over 2 hours is not. This is why I spend $85 and get a 15 minute oil change at Valvoline. I'm surprised these places are still in business. Wouldn't recommend coming here for service. This will be first and last time. read more

I guess I've been spoiled when it comes to car dealerships. First, growing up in the Midwest, where entire streets were named after car dealerships, and then lastly, living in California where showrooms were as glamorous as Arnold's chonies.... Wellesley Mazda let me down a little. Located on a divided highway, you really have to watch for this one to zoom zoom up on you. The parking lot is almost nonexistent, which is strange because there aren't many cars actually on the lot. I guess Wellesley Mazda is one of those "custom order" lots for all the rich folk and Hillary wannabes.... So I drive Snowflake there for two recall fixes -- nothing big, but when a corporation foots the bill for one of my belongings to be better? I'll make the time. Also, I named Snowflake because she's white, and I think that's what cursed me, and fate decided to give hubby a better job outside of California in a place where snow actually happens. Frick. I just realized I set this ball in motion 2 years ago. Regardless, there were recalls on my car, so I asked for a rental so I could get back to work and make some bacon. "I'm sorry, we only give rental cars to customers whose repairs will take longer than three hours." So after 2 hours of siting in their lobby, my car was done. The magazines are all from 2006. The squeaky wheel gets the grease for sure! A few things happened after post this review. one - Roberta did not deliver the registration. My husband picked it up instead. Two - the registration that was supposedly obtained by Roberta on a Thursday and mailed 'first thing Friday morning' finally arrived at our house -- with a issue date & postage stamp both on Saturday. By now you are probably thinking...Whoa Becka! So why the *upgrade* in rating? Well, that's because of the third thing that happened. We received a phone call from the management at Wellesley Mazda, apologizing for the situation. The man we spoke with (I forget his name right now) was sincere & genuine. Although the issue had already been resolved, he wanted us to know how badly he felt about everything. It was a great call. He even said that our free paid-for maintenance visit would be on the house. (I think that's at 6k miles, so let's hope they remember!) Can't say I'll rave about this place, but I'm definitely feeling better than I did. And overall, the rest of the shopping experience here was decent, we got a great car & some of the staff really tried their best for a great customer experience. read more

Servicing at this dealership is a total rip off!! Came here to get my car serviced after one of my friend recommended. They spoke very nicely in the beginning, that is their way of getting more/unnecessary things done on your car. 15k service costs $185!!! Moreover, it includes the regular oil change and not the synthetic oil. Mazda gallery at Norwood were providing the same exact services with SYNTHETIC OIL change for $145. The manager recommended I change the air conditioning air filter, which was totally not required, did not allow them to do it either. Also, there was some vibration noise coming from the doors because of the music system, I told them I can demonstrate the issue, but they refused and said we will take a look at it. In the end, the lady said we have adjusted the sound settings so that the noise reduces, as a matter of fact, they did not even take a look at it, the sound settings were exactly how I left them before. They said, it is not a fixable issue. Horrible customer service! read more

I will say one thing. The salesman Daniel was nice and courteous, but I feel like this poor kid is being taught in the ways of how NOT to sell cars. I have had a number of cars in the past 2 years and If I were to have a great experience I will inform others of it, it can also be said of a negative experience. I have no qualms about writing a few sentences so that someone can avoid being plowed at at dealership. I can truly say that no one was disrespectful or rude, but with that being said after I informed the salesman and his colleague Greg Flowers that given the right numbers I would take the car right then and there. This is where small dealerships usually shoot themselves in the foot. They then went off to their sales/business manager. I could here his loud blaring voice asking how much more do we to put down on the car. They both came back and I replied the gentleman's question. He then went back to their sales/business manager and came back with numbers that made no sense whatsoever. My wife's car was valued at 3K less than we expected. And their wasn't a dime taken off of MSRP. I had mentioned to Mr. Flowers that how is is this possible if we simply went to truecar.com and printed out a "guaranteed price?". Now I have used truecar before but this is the first time I heard the following: "Yeah, truecar is not for leases". Mr. Flowers you are wrong. Be it a lease or finance, you always negotiate the final price of the vehicle. The closer you are to the residual price of the car for be it with cap cost, rebates or incentives like truecar, the less your monthly payment will be. So, according to them, with a 729 credit score I need 6 thousand dollars to lease a CX-5 in the 300's. Wow....So That's officially BMW money right there, for a CX-5. We left amicably but, the problem with these little dealerships is that they don't move large volumes of cars, they try to keep their proverbial lights on by making as much as they can with each sale. Whereas with a dealership like Sentry Mazda in Shrewsbury they will give you a fair trade and I walked out with a brand new CX-5 grand touring with all the bells and whistles for exactly what I wanted. Literally no questions asked. I have seen places like these for a while, and I don;t want to be rude or condescending but you would do yourself a favor by going elsewhere. read more

Several emails and calls over a period of a couple of weeks we made an appointment at 2pm on a Saturday to meet and road test a new Mazda 6 After a sit down and some questions and answers we were then told that no new 6's were available for a road test regardless of which model we wanted to buy. We recently purchased a used 2010 Mazda5 Grand Touring from Wellesley Mazda. We had been in the market for a more baby-friendly car than our Honda Element and decided that the 5 was the best option for our budget. Going in, we had assumed that we would buy new, but my wife found a loaded 2010 model in their inventory with low miles. I submitted a request for a quote through the MazdaUSA site and received a call within a few hours. I had initially requested to be contacted by email instead of by phone, so that annoyed me a bit and made me a little skeptical of how the experience would be. However, as it turned out, it would be one of the only low points. We arrived at the dealership with our 9-month old in tow. They were very accommodating to this and were patient as we strapped the seat in and out of our car and the two cars we test drove. Ted, our sales associate was very kind and even good with our daughter, which lowered our stress level. After testing the used model and the new one, we decided to try and strike a deal on the 2010 model. My only concern was what we'd be offering as a trade-in, as buying the used model allowed us to avoid financing. My wife and I had a plan worked out to walk out at a certain price and start haggling at another. We were shocked to see an offer for the trade-in that was right at KBB. There was almost no haggling involved from that point on and the process was quick and easy. We've now had the car a little less than a month and could not be happier. read more

Review for the service department. Saying this place is unethical and looking to make a quick buck is an understatement. Do NOT go here for service. I came in to take care of a manufacturer-issued recall issue on my 2010 mazda. I mentioned that the car had been having trouble starting, so could they recharge the battery. Came back to me and told me that: - Throttle needed cleaning - Alignment needed - Power steering line needs replacing - Carbon filter needs changing - 35,000 mile service needed They told me that my car could stall out at any moment if I didn't take care of this stuff. The cost? $1,000. I didn't trust them, because I had just gone to Valvoline and replaced my power steering fluid and carbon filter. I wasn't 100% sure, though. So, I took the car to a highly reviewed auto guy from Yelp, and guess what? Only the power steering line needed replacing. Total cost, $250. And, would my car have stalled out if I hadn't done the repair immediately? No. It's one thing to overcharge a customer, and another thing to try to scare them into service. These guys do both. What could possibly be worse at a service shop? read more

I visited Wellesley Mazda to test drive a Subaru that I found on every online search engine I came across as well as their inventory list on their website, all of which indicated that it was on the dealers lot and ready for sale. Looked great, the Carfax was on point, low mileage, and good price. I arrived to inquire but they seemed confused that the Subaru that was parked out front, overpriced with 80k plus miles on it was not what I came for. I gave them the stock number only to find out that the car wasn't even on the lot, "it hadn't arrived yet." I received a call 3 days later saying "The car arrived but after a full inspection, they were unable to sell the car.." In other words it was never there to begin with and was never for sale. I will never step foot back in this dealership! Only shady dealers will put up attractive cars to get you through the door only for them to try and sell you on another that you haven't had the chance to research. read more

I would say the experience here is not great and I would warn everyone who wants to buy a car here think twice before you come. I came here with friends because they want my opinion with the car. After we tested drive and started to talk about the price, the sales agent brought a black guy with short salt and pepper hair in. He called himself the manager. The so-called "manager" just sat across and table and didn't even introduce himself to us. As a observant, I can say manager was very aggressive, pushing and also kinda rude the whole time. Finally when my friend asked whether the manager could lower $400 on top of the price they offered, and he would be happy to take the car. The manager just responded:"That's impossible. You deserve your small Honda or whatever car you have if you can't afford the Mazda" I am actually wondering how could this person be a manager (if he really is), because he's just so rude and passive aggressive. So we left immediately. Then we went to another Mazda dealer and the people there were very polite and nice. The final price of the same car was nearly $1000 lower than the lowest price offered by this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a reasonable price and also a pleasant car purchasing experience. read more

We gave him a general idea of what we were looking for and he was able to quickly show us the available cars, giving us a detailed overview of each car. I recently purchased a Mazda vehicle from Roberta Viana and I can say the experience was positive. Roberta seem to be informed and open to discuss. She was quite patient as we explored our options. Roberta took the time to even print out the comparison between her and a different dealer that have a competitive car. Unlike another agent and its Mazda dealership that I will not name but will compare, there was not a sense of artifice. Not to mention attempts to misinform by omission. Unlike him, she seem to speak straight with willingness to talk about both the pros and the cons to the cars we looked at. Shopping for a car is a miserable experience. There seems to be a natural antagonism between the salesman and the buyer. I mostly gravitated toward Wellesley Mazda because (a) they had a car on their site that was exactly what I wanted, and (b) they were just down Rt. 9 from where I work. I arrived, fed up with my existing car and ready to sign that day if things worked out. And I feel like their staff really made an effort to get me to the point where things worked out, and I could sign feeling good about the car I was getting and the company I was doing business with. They made it easy, but it also felt pretty transparent, in that I saw and was made aware of everything that was going on. Add to that their Owner Loyalty Program, which is a nice per, giving somewhat discounted maintenance services and some AAA-esque emergency support, and this is definitely a company I would check out if you're in the market for a new (or new-to-you) car. read more

I don't really like car shopping...it's stressful, and car salesmen are usually very pushy and it makes me really nervous. So it makes sense that the one and only place I went to where the guys were helpful and knowledgable (and not at all down my throat...cough, cough Natick Hyundai!) was the place I purchased the car from. Seriously, all the guys at Wellesley Mazda will go above and beyond to make you a happy customer. My fiance and I aren't exactly veterans at car buying (his previous car was totalled so we needed a new one within our budget...stat!), but Bill I. was sooo patient with us and even pushed us to give a lower offer on the car (I can't think of any car guys who would do that!). So now we have a sweet little Mazda 3, a car payment we can totally manage and Wellesley Mazda's owner loyalty program where you get oil changes and every other service free...yay! I'm selling my 2010 Mazda 3 to a friend so I thought I'd go in to the service department to get some factory recall issues taken care of.  I also wanted them to do a general look-over to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with it before selling it.  They obviously took this as an opportunity to pad their pocket books and get me to spend money on repairs that weren't actually needed.  I'm so glad I stuck with my instincts and told them not to do any of them. They told me I needed to spend $100 on a new cabin air filters. I went home, pulled them out, and wouldn't you know, they were practically pure white.  This matches my expectation considering they were replaced a few months ago.  I called back and asked how this could have come up as something needing to be replaced.  They admitted that they didn't actually check to see if the filter was dirty, they just saw a bunch of debris in the area right below the windshield so they assumed the air filter was dirty.  My car is regularly parked under a tree.  To say that I need to spend $100 on a repair like that without even checking whether its really necessary, when you're getting paid to actually do a car inspection, is really dishonest. They also told me I needed $40 for a new engine air filter.  That's even easier to pull out and look at.  This was also almost totally white.  When I asked them how *that* could have come up in their inspection all they could say is "If you'd like to come down here we can show you what we saw." No, I do not need to take an hour out of my day to come down and have you show me an air filter you claim is dirty but that I'm looking right at and is clearly not. They also wanted to charge me $60 to fix a loose spoiler.  This is just tightening two easily accessible nuts!  I get that repair shops mark up prices for labor.  But $60 to tighten two nuts?  Come on. A few other things came up in the inspection that could be legitimate.  But how can I really know for sure now?  They lied about the severity of the things that I was able to check myself.  How can they really be trusted that these larger issues were as dire as they said they were?  I'll have to take it somewhere else to make sure the work really needs to be done. Also... a note about their sales department.  I came in a month prior to look at the CX-5.  Before doing a test drive they sat me down to do a questionnaire; which was apparently just a ploy to get my contact information so they could hound me after I left.  In one day I had four missed calls from them.  Sales manager, if you're reading this... know that people are way less likely to buy something from someone who they feel is harassing them.  No other car dealership we've visited in our search for a new car tried to get our contact information like this. read more

I bought my 2013 Mazda 6 at Quirk for a great price and great overall experience. But this isnt about them its about Wellsley Mazda. I missed the sunroof in my previous car so I descided to have one put in and would use Wellsley Mazda since its a few miles from my home and I had planned on getting it serviced there. WHAT A MISTAKE! I delt with a gentleman named Greg. I think he works with Micorp out of Worcester. It was done in a day but my coin dispenser went missing. Five bucks worth of change on a $1,200 transaction was not worth getting worked up about it but out of principle I called Greg to inform about the incident. He did not seem to take it seriously. The Signature Series Sunroof is wonderful product that looks almost factory but it rattled from day one. It got worse after about a month so when some weather stripping started coming undone I descided back to Wellsely Mazda (after clearing out my valuables). They in turn sent it back to Micorp rattling has been reduced but the seem to have removed the trim. WTF? It's there for a reason right? To add insult to injury, my new car reeked of cigarette smoke when it was returned to me. If I have further problems with the sunroof I will deal with the manufateror and have them refer me to a different shop. I will not get my new Mazda serviced at a place like that. Shopping for a car is "efffffffffffffffffffffffffffff"ing expensive and also stressful. Out of all of the dealerships I've visited in the last couple of weeks (6 dealerships) Wellesley Mazda was by far the most professional. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a salesman that didn't immediately try to sell me something. I worked with a man named Bill Lannelli. He has worked there for 10 years and spoke very calmly and was very knowledgeable and patient. This was super important to me. Not only did I feel rushed at the other places, but the other sales people were a lot less easy going and not as knowledgeable about the cars they were selling. Wellesley Mazda prides itself on being a smaller family owned dealership with a loyal following of people. I definitely am considering buying my Mazda 3 s Grand Touring from them :D read more
