I was visiting from out of town, and decided I wanted to get a massage. I found Soraya, and man is she amazing! She is an excellent therapist, she even used some techniques I had not experienced from another therapist before, it was a wonderful massage. I only wished I lived nearby for regular treatments from her! She works inside of a chiropractor office, which I have to say, is unlike any I have been to before. I only wish I was in town longer, I would be curious to give the chiropractor a try as well. They have these traction machines all over the office, I believe to help elongate the spine, or something like that. The decor of the office is very cool, very modern chic, very clean and welcoming. The massage room was really nice too, same modern chic vibe (think, gray walls, white tables, a porcelain deer head hanging on the wall) and SUPER clean. The massage table was very comfortable. I would say the only thing to beware of is, as another reviewer mentioned, the noise level in the office isn't always the best. But I think one thing to bare in mind is that this is not a spa, it is a chiropractor office. It's not so much a spa environment as it is a treatment environment (Though, I had no problems relaxing despite) If this might be a problem for you, I would call and ask when their slow times are and ask to make your massage appointment during those periods. All in all, a wonderful experience! I forgot to mention, all the staff are SUPER friendly, including the Dr. which was nice that I got to meet her! I've been to more than my fair share of chiropractors in the last few years. So, I know a thing or two about quality of care and treatment available. After a severe car accident that left me in excruciating pain and discomfort 24/7, I decided to visit check out Wellness Choice at the recommendation of two different friends and my attorney. They told me that their treatment results were excellent and left them in better shape than before they were injured. Just down the street from John Wayne Airport, the location was close enough for me to Uber or Lyft from work if I had to (I've been car-less for 3 months and counting, since my car was totaled on my way home from work.). I don't normally write reviews but for Wellness Choice I just had to take some time out of my busy schedule to do so. After packing, moving and unpacking I had so much back pain that I could not straighten up nor walk properly. Not knowing anyone int town I used google to find a chiropractor and after reading the review I chose Dr Lisa's practice. I called and she answered the phone so I told her what was happening and even though it was a day she was not normally in the office she agreed to see me without any hesitation. She took care of me and told me if I needed more help on Saturday (when she is normally closed) I should call her and she would come in to help me. This was a person she only just met! Well, I had to call her and with her help I only missed three days of work. Since then I have been going to see her for regular treatments and I am feeling so much better. Dr. Nona Djavid is the best chiropractor in Orange County. I have been to many chiropractors and if you are an athlete like me, you know what it's like to have to take care of your body on a regular basis. Traditional chiropractors will adjust your spine and yes you get out of pain, but what I didn't realize was that it's only temporary. I kept having to go back to get my back adjusted to stay out of pain. Once I found Dr. Nona, I realized nobody had looked at my spine the same way she analyzed it. She asked me not just about my sports injuries, neck and back pain- she asked about every single health problem. I felt like for the first time I understood what was causing things. She took x-rays. We did some tests and found out that I could be a candidate for corrective care- which is fixing the problem instead of temporarily giving it relief like a Tylenol. The entire staff at Wellness Choice is nothing short of amazing! After many years of being treated by a "traditional" chiropractor without any real results, I decided to try WC. I suffer from chronic scoliosis and have two curvatures in my spine, which causes painful back spasms and my upper torso to lean to one side. Very often I felt like a dog running down the street, it felt like my upper body was going in the opposite direction as my lower half. This led to lower back pain, spasms, and poor posture. I went in to WC for Xrays. I returned soon after for a consultation with Dr Lisa, who explained what was causing my pain and she had a plan that could help with the pain and correct my less than perfect posture. I decided to go with her plan, and after following the plan and completing the home care, my pain level and posture have definitely improved! I have gotten many compliments on how my posture has improved from family and friends. I can work out and ride my bike again with little or no pain. This was the first time a chiro ever told me that they would be taking x-rays not only when I started, but also after 3 months to make sure that things were headed in the right direction... OK, so I had been suspicious of chiropractors across the board for most of my life. All that rapid, violent pressure and accompanying hideous cracking can't be good for you, can it? It seemed as though the standard Chiropractor was managing the problem rather than providing true relief. Well, I suspect that many people will have different opinions on the chiropractic field in general, so I won't try do defend my previous position, but I wanted to let you all know where I started from. Whether or not it's justified, I was afraid of the bone crunchers. All of that changed the moment that I met Dr. Nona and I am now a raving supporter. Dr. Nona was the first Chiropractor to sit me down and educate me about my back problems BEFORE beginning to crack & shove. It turns out that her gentle, non-bone-crunching technique is amazingly effective even though it's not force that catalyzes the changes. Earlier in the year, I entered Wellness Choice with a series of back, shoulder, and arm "issues" that I just couldn't seem to shake. I had gone to a medical doctor, thinking (for some reason) I had torn my rotator cuff. He gave me some meds and told me to rest. Well, two weeks of that and it was worse! By mid-February 2013, I was trying everything by now: Acupuncture, yoga, grin-and-bear-it, ice, heat, massages...but, no relief. At the time, I was very discouraged and entered Wellness Choice with a general sense of trepidation and skepticism. Dr. Nona had seen this before. In fact, it was quite apparent, that she knew exactly what needed to be done. After a series of interviews, some X-rays, an exam on the chiropractic table, and knowledge transfer ("the workshops"), we formulated a plan of attack. The Wellness Choice team has completely saved my sanity. I know that sounds dramatic, but I had been suffering from migraines almost everyday by the time my husband came across Wellness Choice. I had seen many doctors, gone through many tests and nothing was helping or changing. Most often the solution given to me was a strong pain medication, which I was not willing to take while I worked, drove or just lived a normal life. After meeting with the team - we went over my medical history, had x-rays and talked about the way they approach Chiropractics. Instead of just covering up a possible problem with pain meds or trying to erase it with surgery, or simply adjusting and sending you on your way - their team focuses on preventive care and traction after they identify the problem. Dr. Kate was incredibly open and honest with me about every aspect of the process. After reviewing my x-rays, I saw that my neck and spine were not in a healthy position. Dr. Kate compared images of my x-rays to a healthy x-ray and we discussed how the position of my neck and spine could be giving me migraines. From there, we came up with a plan of attack - three days a week with traction. I am so incredibly happy to say that I have not had a migraine for almost three months. I will have to give this place five thumbs up! Awesome personnel, clean building and suite. The place is small, but you feel at home (well for me anyways). Very friendly staff and while you wait, you can have their teas to drink. The massage itself are done by professionals, so you can feel comfortable about that. They only have one room for the sessions, so plan ahead with an appointment. Also, this building shares an outside restroom, so be prepared. Back to the massage session. You enter the room, which is dim and soothing with the candles and the music of water and other sound effects (great ambiance). The room looks and feel fresh and clean (both times I went). Clarke Took me a bit to find this quote, but it is really the only one that fit my mood coming out of the Wellness Choice Center yesterday. The magic I'm referring to is Dr. Nona's mastery of Chiropractic "technology." Every time I go, after I answer a quick question or two, Dr. Nona can hone in on exactly where I'm messed up and exactly what is going on. That's pretty cool, but in my mind, the true mastery comes in when her follow-up questions deal with how it happened in the first place, how long it has been that way, how intense the pain probably is, etc. You just don't get to that level without the very best education combined with a ton of experience, as well as being able to effectively communicate with people. The thing that initially brought me to Dr. Nona was finding out that she was only one of a handful of Chiropractors in Orange County that had a higher level certification. (By handful, I think it was under 10 - that's pretty impressive for such a big county.) I don't know too much about that particular certification, but I know it goes to really fixing the structure of the body and the underlying issues rather than just slapping on a "band aid" adjustment and keeping somebody coming back forever - which is what most of my friends/family have experienced with Chiropractors and exactly what I didn't want. Anyway, back to where I started - it really does feel like magic. I go in regularly with some issue or other, she pinpoints it exactly, fixes it quickly, and I'm good as new when I leave. That's what I always heard a good Chiropractor could do, but it never worked for me when I was younger, so I gave up. So glad I found Dr. Nona. By the way, as a man I think it would be a little disingenuous if I didn't mention that Dr. Nona, Katie, and Heather are all stunning. There's just no way you miss that when you show up at the office! But I wouldn't even bring that up unless I could also say that they are amazing people inside - friendly, kind, genuine, compassionate, etc. It is just really one of those great places that you'll be very happy you found. I got referred to this place by my buddy after complaining about lower back pain for several months. At first I refused to see a chiropractor and went to a regular M.D. After taking all sorts of pain killers I decided to give a chiropractor a shot. After a couple sessions I felt much better (about 80% better). Another plus...the doctor was very friendly and the office was in a great location. Best part of all: I can afford the priced! I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Nona! I've played basketball for years and recently hurt my lower back.
