A-OK, but not for me. I came here because I was having neck pain, did my regular research on Yelp and found the rave reviews for Wellness Choice Center. My first visit was for an exam with X-rays and second visit was to watch a presentation of the Dr. and her business. The Dr took me into her office and explained that they provide a service in which clients come in for treatment 3 times a week for a few months. She told me the cost and I decided the treatment was not for me. I did a bit of research which led me to buy a neck pillow. I have been using the neck pillow at night and have felt much better. To each their own! This place is not your "usual" chiropractic office where you come in for regular adjustments. They have a different approach for overall wellness healing, which costs a few thousand. read more

I run a Mommy and Me program in Newport Beach, CA and Dr. Nona's office originally reached out to me to introduce the practice to myself and the moms in my program dealing with babies with reflux or recovering from birth and other common issues. When she found out I was pregnant, she expressed all the benefits I could obtain from seeing a chiropractor. This is my second pregnancy and very early on (at 13 weeks) I started having almost constant horrible heartburn and lower back pain. I didn't experience these symptoms until later in my first pregnancy and never saw a chiropractor. I wasn't expecting much out of the treatments but I went in with an open mind, and WOW, am I a huge believer now! My heartburn is gone and my lower back pain is completely manageable and only there maybe the day before my weekly treatment. Any other pregnancy symptoms that come up seem to diminish after my treatments. I also have an almost 3 year old who is in school and almost weekly I feel like I'm coming down with something and then it suddenly goes away. I also have started to bring my 3 year old for adjustments, hoping to intervene some of the yucky stuff that goes around preschool. So far he's been doing great since his first treatment. Nothing worse than a runny nose while some of the other kids at school have lingering coughs, flus and colds. I have sent a few moms and babies to Dr. Nona and all have been very satisfied with her services. Babies with reflux are comfortable and able to get off of medication. One mom has said she has a "completely different baby" since starting to see Dr. Nona. Sleeping better, happier and in much less pain. Her entire team is so sweet and helpful and it's easy to get in for an appointment that works with your schedule. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Nona for anything and everything! She's been a total lifesaver during this pregnancy and I fully intend to continue coming after the pregnancy along with having her treat my 3 year old and my new baby in just a few short months! read more

Being 41 years old, my body is not as resilient as it used to be. My wife, the researcher, wanted to find a place with a good reputation. The skeptic in me had doubts as to what could this place possibly do to improve how I feel. I was very much accepting that this is how I'm suppose to feel when you get older. Typical doctors normally zip through my visits, ask a few questions, then give you a prescription for something. I learned that my spine as has everything to do with my quality of life. I'm on my third month of corrective care. Not until I really sat down and thought about it that I realized that the corrections and adjustments are truly improving my quality of life. I was first introduced to Dr. Nona when I attended a health seminar co-lead by one of my professional friends and colleagues. I was intrigued when I learned that the initial examination included a series of comprehensive x-rays I was intrigued. I have been struggling with lower back pain for years and the two chiropractors I have gone to have never had me undergo x-rays to see what is really going on. I underwent the x-rays and was treated with kind, professional care from the entire staff. Heather does an exceptional job and keeping you informed, particularly with regard to what she is doing and why she is doing it. Dr. Nona invited my husband to participate in the feedback session with my x-ray findings, a practice that at first made me nervous (wow I must be in really bad shape!) but later learned that it was for keeping your spouses informed every step of the way. I am so thankful now to have him participate in these sessions as he understands exactly what I am doing with my corrective care and is invested in my recovery. I was scared to learn that my limited budget may make it quite difficult to engage in the corrective care that my body so desperately needed. Dr. Nona and her staff were willing to work with me. They treated me with compassion and sensitivity given my limited resources and were willing to do whatever it would take as long as I was invested in the process and home care. I appreciate Dr. Nona's approach to her treatment in that she is upfront, direct and makes it clear that the work must be done at home in order to see results. Her approach helped me to be focused and attentive to my home care, and I'm not certain that if another approach were taken I would have been so involved and proactive. I was also so delighted when after completing my first three months of corrective care I was given a card acknowledging my efforts and commitment to my treatment. Dr. Nona even threw in a free massage, which for anyone with back pain, this was a Godsend! I have been nothing but pleased with the professional, supportive and caring staff. While I don't really have anything negative to say (except one rant) about Wellness choice center. It just seems they charge an awful lot for a little bit of service. You can get the same service from other chiropractors at a fraction of the price. Sure they have a nice looking facility and a hot doctor working there (female one) but honestly I don't care about that stuff. I just want good service for a reasonable price. so... I didn't end up getting any treatment here because I had to front about $325 before I even started treatment which is CRAZY. Hence why i gave them two stars. I would think it would be unfair of me to give them less/more until I actually went through their therapy. My one rant would be. I brought in Xrays from my previous doctor for reference which were about 3 to 4 weeks old. They said I needed to take new ones from their facility. ummm ok whatever. So I spent the $100 for xrays plus the $50 conciliation fee. Came back the next day and they told me I needed to take more Xrays so they could put my neck thru a stress test..........Which was another $125 for two Xrays...... I do not claim to be the smartest guy in the world but at that point I felt like I was being taken for a "ride". Maybe it's because I didn't get the hot doctor when I was there. I got the 20/something year old guy doctor/assistant? Which I have no complaints about as he seemed to answer every question of mine with a smile. In addition to traditional chrio adjustments, Dr Djavid uses postural analysis, digital imaging, traction, and decompression therapies which gives them many tools to address complex situations. And just like that, the pain melted away... You ever have back pain? The kind where's there's no position on earth that you can force yourself into to make the pain go away? That was my life the past three days. So I setup an appointment with Soraya for a massage after a recommendation from a friend. About 20 minutes into the massage, I noticed a change. The inflammation in my lower back was decreasing. And more importantly, the pain was G-O-N-E gone. Poof, as if a magic fairy waved her wand, said the magic words, and made life livable again. I've been to a Chiropractic office before but I've never been to a Corrective Chiropractic Clinic. I'm so glad my friend Diane referred me to such an awesome & welcoming environment. Something that Wellness Choice does that is different than other offices I've been to, is that they emphasize how important it is to get an X-Ray before you even get adjusted, since it'll help analyze the health of the patient's skeletal & nervous system. That really impressed me because I've never been told the importance of an x-ray before any adjustment ever. My first impression of Dr.Nona & Dr.Kate was that they definitely know what they're doing & from the testimonials of other patients I definitely feel like "I'm in great hands." Dr Lisa and Dr Lynn have been nothing short of wonderful. We came here as a recommendation from our pediatrician, my 12 yr old has mild cerebral palsy and it was looking like scoliosis was setting in but with the comprehensive care he has received with them he is doing amazing! I found this place by chance - and so lucky I did. Just having moved to OC from the east coast - I was feeling the ache and pain of a 10 day drive cross-country and added stress of a massive move. I have always been body aware but never committed to a chiropractor based on apprehension of the whole process, and frankly a lot of doubt in the methodology. But I knew I need a fix - and not a quick one. Thankfully I landed on Dr. Nona's office and popped in immediately for a consultation. It was awesome. It was informative, comprehensive and caring. I knew for sure this wasn't your quick crack kind of place. It was thorough and taught me what I needed to know about my postural history and where I needed to improve. I was totally committed from that initial X-ray. I had a funky neck, an overly curved upper spine (a slouch) and an achey hip that was a chronic bother. I also had the emotional impact of the move and finding work, including just a general fatigue and digestive issues. All those things and more play into your structural soundness - it's a whole body, it makes sense to take care of it entirely. And that's what Dr. Nona does. She didn't only relieve any of my crack/pop anxiety - which I had (especially around my neck) but she handles you gently and informs you and teaches you along the way. Ultimately you're not only improving, you're learning - so you can walk away knowing you've invested in your health and knowledge. I quickly found that my 3 visits a week were the highlight of my day. I loved the office vibe, everyone I met I still keep in touch with socially. And it felt REALLY GOOD. Think of it as physical therapy - or like braces - you're not just switching a switch off or on from YEARS of misguided postural problems or poor impact and habit. An integrative approach to health, which is exactly what long-term health and wellness is all about. There is a great weight loss program that we also did (total advocate of it, was the easiest program to do). There are lectures and classes, yoga and massage, and a cool vibe that makes you want to commit. If we didn't move again (left OC), I would still be there - not because I need it (issues resolved and absolutely improved), but because I want to. Ok, this is my first Yelp review in over 3 years ...but I had to log into my account (after many failed password attempts and then having to reset and retrieve my password because I couldn't remember it) just to write this review and say how awesome Wellness Choice Center is. After getting in a major car accident and having pain in my neck and back along with various other issues, I decided I needed to see a chiropractor. I admit I was initially skeptical of chiropractors in general. Dr. Nona instantly alleviated concerns when I saw that her holistic approach to health was combined with scientific research and analysis based on the latest research techniques (which Dr. Nona also has extensive background in). Her patients receive a comprehensive computer analysis in order to help accurately diagnose issues and then she will come up with a comprehensive and custom treatment plan. Beyond that Dr. Nona focuses on corrective (and preventative) care and is sincerely concerned with her patients' long term health. (Unlike some chiropractors who may employ more "quick-fix" solutions that will have you coming back forever.) She isn't only concerned about your spine, but that your whole body is in optimal health. After my accident I had several issues in addition to my neck and back pain, but I didn't know that the strength of my grip in one hand had been reduced to that of a 5 year old girl (normally I have the strength of a really really strong and muscular 13 year old girl). All of my issues have improved greatly! I think anyone that needs chiropractic care should definitely go see Dr. Nona on the basis of the things I mentioned. The massages from Soraya were so healing and Dr. Nona gently corrected my back so I could bear the rest of my pregnancy, I thank her so much! I just brought my baby to her who is now 8 months old for an exam. I just wanted to have her checked out because at 5 weeks she fell off the changing table and recently had a couple head bonks. I was referred to Dr. Nona after a motor vehicle accident I was involved, where I was rear ended badly and it resulted in having major back/neck pain. I was a little unsure about going to a chiropractor because I had never been before, but I had always heard nothing, but good things about chiropractic care. I decided to give Wellness Choice a chance because my back and neck were in need of getting better. I had to take a semester off of my dance classes because I was in no shape or form able to perform the same way I was able to prior to my accident. My first visit with Dr. Nona and her sweet staff was incredible. I felt relaxed and comfortable. She had some Xrays taken of my back and went over them with me, explained what her plan was for me and what she believed would help me get back to where I needed to be at. I treated with her for 3 months, twice a week and did my daily excercises as instructed. During the course of those 3 months I felt improvement in my neck, back and over all mobility of my body. I continued with my at home excercises and still do until this day. I am so thankful for the referral of Dr. Nona & how she pieced me back together again. The vibe in her office is so mellow and relaxing- I'd go in after an 8 hour work day and always looked forward to each visit because I'd walk out better then I did when I walked in. I found Wellness choice on Yelp, I called in to ask if they work with insurance and they do. The staff contacts your insurance company for you and checks your insurance coverage. I had some insurance coverage so they were able to give me superbills so that I can get reimbursed directly by my insurance. This was a easy and effortless process. The staff is really helpful" and add anything else you'd like to spice it up! Also, this chiropractor office is wonderful! I walked in for a quick tour of the place and was greeted wonderfully by the staff. They were all very friendly, and gave me a very informative tour of the place. I am unsure how anyone could give Wellness anything but a great review. If you want to learn more about your body, then getting educated about your spine and the connection to the brain is crucial. I did not fully understand this until I was educated by wellness through one on one evaluation, consultation along with an x-ray of my spine. I have seen 2-3 other chiropractors in the past and have never had an x-ray completed to verify my conditions. I feel I am more connected today with my body than ever before. I am in my 3rd week of a 3x per week 12 week alignment program with Wellness. So far I have not had to take any Sinus medication, whereas prior to my treatments I was taking sinus medication on a daily basis to treat chronic sinus headaches. Although my back and neck are soar from the rigorous treatments, I truly feel as if I am getting stronger and more balanced. I know when my muscles adjust to my new alignment I will be in a much healthier state. You can spend money on many things in life, but nothing will be as satisfying as spending the money to correct bad posture which may help to eliminate hundreds of current and potential ailments. No one else has been able to give me the care, treatment, and knowledge as Dr. Nona has given me. She has not only been able to eliminate pain and reduce my level of discomfort but she's given me the tools to sustain these changes. I wish I would have known of Dr. Nona and Dr. Tyler back in 2015. They make a great team along with Alec and Andrew. I had gotten in a car accident Jan 2015 and due to the accident I got two herniated discs L4-L5 and L5-S1 plus not to mention my spine got misaligned. The pain from this wouldn't go away and got worse over time. I went to a good number of orthopedics and all they offered were pain medications, anti inflammatory pills, epidural injections etc., nothing really helped. It got to the point where I had to quit my job last year because I couldn't focus, stand, walk, sit, drive, or even lay down. I continued like this for several months with pain medications, physical therapy and no improvement, so I was told I needed surgery. I'm sure no one likes the idea of getting any kind of surgery done on their body and I didn't either. I have to say Thank God I came across Wellness Choice as I was researching for one last possible alternative to try. Dr. Nona and her Team made me feel so much better within a week or two of starting their corrective care! I felt great! Compared to how miserable I was feeling before. I honestly couldn't believe it. I officially started coming here January and almost two months in, I can say I feel the pain is practically almost gone. I'm not taking any kind of pain killers anymore. Dr Nona Djavid is a powerhouse of information. She knows chiropractic (or whatever it's called) well and has a passion for it. I've gone to a bunch of chiros who are more or less "rack em and crack em" transactional places. Dr. Djavid seems to take care of her patients. I've seen her speak and present and really proved she knows what she's talking about AND takes the time to keep herself sharp and informed. Very respectable. I also have enjoyed her periodic workshops that are education, informative, and not a dressed up sales pitch. I recommend her highly if you're in pain or possibly if you're looking to be proactive. She probably wouldn't say this as she's very welcoming - but don't waste your or her time if you're just looking for an adjustment or one time thing.. she's ideal for someone who wants to make a positive change in their life. This review is not for their services, as I never got to actually try them. This review is for their customer service or lack thereof and deceptive practices. While I am glad to read that this chiropractor has worked out for many people, the same has not applied to me. So here goes my experience: I called in September to make my first appointment with Dr. Nona. During my call I asked if it would be possible to purchase the Yelp voucher and the person on the phone told me that I would not be able to, as "no services are rendered during the first visit and that the first visit is a FREE evaluation". She then went ahead and said that she would notate my chart so that they have on file that I was interested in purchasing the Yelp voucher. Okay, so I figured that purchasing the voucher would not make sense since the first visit was "free" anyway and went ahead and scheduled my first apmt. I went in toward the end of September for the "free" evaluation. Everyone seemed really nice and I did initially feel welcomed. I then was able to see Dr. Nona for the evaluation. All complaints aside, I dont doubt the doctor knows her stuff. She answers questions thoroughly, which is a good thing and a big relief when you are living with chronic pain. Anyways, half way through the evaluation she said that "starting now I will be charging you because I am doing an exam". She told me the exam consisted of a questionnaire, her checking my back and neck as well as posture etc, and X rays. However, I was unable to do the X rays upon that first visit because at the time there was a chance I could be pregnant. She said not to worry and that I could pay half up front ($100) and the other half when i got the X rays done ($100) for a grand total of $200. I then brought up the Yelp voucher (which was noted in my chart that i was interested in purchasing it) and instead of allowing me to buy and apply the voucher to the first "free" evaluation, she said to pay $100 up front and then buy the voucher for the X rays session (the second upcoming session if I found out I was not preggers). So I was a bit shocked and confused. Shocked/confused for several reasons. I was satisfied with the fact that she was thorough, but was confused that I felt a bit deceived by the first person I talked to on the phone and now I felt the doctor was trying to get a good amount of cash up front. This was my thought, but then I challenged my negative assumptions and went with it because she had been thorough and I was in a lot of pain and was desperate to just do something about it. So I went ahead and made my apmt for 10/7/13. Well lets fast forward 2 weeks. I found out i was not pregnant and then I started doing some research on the practice and read the reviews here on Yelp. I noticed that some people mentioned a "treatment program" being the main treatment offered with this chiropractor and that this program costs thousands of dollars. I immediately got scared and before jumping to conclusions, I simply cancelled my apmt in advance and actually called the day of (10/7) and spoke with "Heather". I asked if there were other treatment options and although she said there were, she would not specify the range of prices. She said only the doctor could give me that info. So I asked for the doctor to call me. I really wanted to talk to the doctor because if her only option for my particular situation was to do this treatment program, then I would rather save myself the second $100 and move on and find something more affordable. I just dont have thousands of dollars lying around so i thought being up front was my best course of action. I thought this way i dont waste her time and mine. Well fast forward to yesterday 10/18/13 and still NO CALL BACK. I call back and spoke again to "Heather" and reiterated the information given to her almost 2 weeks ago and I requested to speak to the doctor by phone BEFORE taking the X rays. She then went on to say that i absolutely needed to make an apmt and do the X rays and only at that point can the doctor talk to me and tell me what I need. Ummmm WHAT?! i told her that I needed to talk to her prior to the X rays by phone to confirm what are the different options available at the practice. You know, just GENERAL information. I then just said, plain and simple, to have the doctor call me. Not surprisingly, the doctor still has not called. So in summary not only am I still in pain, but I am out $100 and still in the dark about what would've been my options. In reading the reviews on here, i noticed that the doctor does respond to reviewers, so since she wont call me back, maybe shell see this. And maybe shell offer a refund, as im no longer interested in their services. Even if there were to be affordable options, they just left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I am so thankful I came across Wellness Choice. I have been under chiropractic care for years, but I'm finally experiencing true corrective care. I've always wanted to get "adjustments." I've been in retail for 15 years and in the last 4 years in heels running around. My back has always been an issue. I thought I had a "weak" core. I dealt with the pain all my life. I finally decided to look for a chiropractor. Friends and family both told me to try places like the "joint." Well, fearful of the outcome since someone would be touching my spin, I decided to do some heavy research. I came across Wellness Choice on Yelp and started to read the reviews- good and bad. I also started to "Google" Dr.Nona and try to verify as much information about her as possible. I liked what I saw, but skeptical!! That changed quickly after the 1st visit. Dr. Nona and her team were amazing. My husband and I had so many questions. Hailey, Diane and Dr.Nona took all the time in the world to explain EVERYTHING! I loved all the detailed information they provided. We went through every part of the body from head to toe and every area that was causing pain or had caused pain before. Keep in mind this was FEB 2016- back then my lower back was constantly in pain. My right knee caused so much pain that I couldn't drive for more than 20 minutes (oh, I'm also a car sales person), I had asthma, and really bad "allergies." By REALLY bad I mean, every morning I would have to put on an ice mask for the swelling around my eye lids and face to go down. I would have to give myself and extra 30 to 60 mins before I can get ready for work. There were days that I couldn't even put in my contact lenses. It's been almost a year and the results are amazing. Within two to three weeks of treatment I was able to wake up out of bed with no issues. My back started feel better, my posture improved and I'm now able to drive for long hours without any pain. I'm such a believer in "chiropractic care."
