We wanted to pick up some fresh shrimp here and were also hungry. We ordered everything and dined inside. My sister indicated that this place has been thoroughly redone after the crazy storm a couple years back. They did a good job with their space. I ordered chicken strips and they were horrible. They were dry and the coating was applied improperly. Sort of like straight flour on naken chicken and then fried. I was picking strands of chicken out of my teeth for hours!! The fries were nothing special either. Disappointed because this place was SO crowded. Apparently they are known for the other food they offer, which makes sense. My family seemed fine with their orders. We picked up our "fresh" (actually frozen) shrimp and had a great dinner later. I wouldn't go here again, but then again I am not a fan of fish and seafood. I was super impressed by this place. They have any seafood you want and the prices are great compared to a lot of other places. We got the twin lobsters and they were cooked perfectly. We came here for some convenient lobster meat for lobster rolls. It's expensive per pound, but the convenience of ready to serve lobster meat in juicy chunks is worth it. We are at Wells for a week long vacation at Airbnb on beach. We ordered take out for 10 cooked lobsters and clam chowder. I called asking about pickup the day before. It was by far the best experience, service, lobster and chowder we have had in a very long time. The dinner was perfect eating outside making memories and the staff was super at pickup. We were tipped off to this waterside seafood restaurant by a friend. The lobster pound is across the street from the water. It's very basic- order at a window and the food is brought to your table. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The picnic tables outdoors are lovely. The restaurant is immaculate. The staff were very friendly. The food was off the charts. I visit Maine frequently and am a big seafood fan. The steamers and lobsters were a top 5 experience. The house made potato chips and coleslaw were awesome. The hand made onion rings were very good. The prices were really good for dine in and were an absolute steal for take out. I can't recommend this no frills, lobster in the rough place highly enough. Great place to get lobster, lobster rolls, steamers and more. While it has changed over the years, this is still a good place to get great Maine seafood. I was told by some folks that Hannaford's supermarket has better prices on steamers, but it's nice to sit outside and look at the ocean. There is also some inside seating if the weather isn't good. Ambiance is pretty basic, but functional, as this is not a place where you dine for hours. We got ours togo once and once we ate in. We got steamers here twice that were great, as was the lobster roll. I did not care for the clam chowder, but I am picky. It is fine, but tastes like the generic Sysco kind of chowder. If you go to Barnacle Billy's at Perkins cover and try their clam chowder, you will see and taste the difference. Service was friendly and we only had to wait a little while, as there was a large party in front of us who all ordered steamers so we had to wait for those. Lobster Pound is the best restaurant that I have ever been to. It is in the heart of Wells Maine, and serves the best seafood that I have ever had. It serves seafood, regular food such as burgers, fries, chicken nuggets, sometimes hotdogs, and other things that you would see at a normal restaurant. It serves lobster, clam chowder, and other seafood items. Another thing that you can get there is ice cream. One of the best things that you can get there are some of the sides. It serves a variety of drinks such as soda, beers, wine, and kids drinks for the littles to have. The restaurant is outside right near the ocean. So you have a great view of the ocean if you choose to sit outside. There is also inside seating for people that would like to sit inside, or if it is cold outside then you can sit inside. There are flowers outside and inside. For the seats outside there are umbrellas that you can put up or put down. The building looks like a little home with two stories. The only negative thing about the place is sometimes the light in the bathroom flickers and it goes out. The people that run the place are most likely going to be there. They have really nice waiters that are willing to fix mistakes that they may have made in your meal. They all work together to keep the business up and running without you having to wait a long time to get your food. That is because they know that you would like your food at a not a ton of wait time. I think that one of the reasons that it comes early to you is because they have all of the seafood and food ready to be cooked or served to somebody. It is also nice because all of your food will most likely come on a tray. That means that you can sit down at the table you would like, and then when the food is ready they will call your name and bring it to you. The quality of the lobster pound food would be a 9. That is because you may not like all of the ice cream flavors because it is very limited. But the quality of the actual food would be a 10 because it always comes out how you would like it. And if it doesn't then they will make it again so that it fits your needs. I would recommend this to a family because there is all kinds of food. Such as kids meals, food for all ages, and food for some adults. If you are going there with a big family and you are worried that the price will be high, there is no need. The very first thing we did when we arrived in Ogunquit...okay, AFTER finding the house where we'd be staying, watering the dogs, unpacking... was search for lobster rolls. Mid-October, the Lobster Pound closest to us was closed for the season, so we went exploring. Happily, and thanks to Google search, we found the Wells Beach Lobster Pound quoiite easily.
