6/20/20 There was a time I disliked Wendy's, but all that has changed. I grew up and so did Wendy. Whatever to the human version of Wendy? Anyhow, I ordered the number seven and my wife ordered the number 10. I had to repeat myself in English and in Spanish about adding three, yes, three slices of cheese more than four times. How hard is it to put three slices of cheese on a sandwich? Aside from that, everything was fine...shit no it's not fine, the cost of the order was $20.64 and I gave them $20.65. I did not get my change back. It not the one cent difference it's the principal. I might bring this up to the manager should we return. The asiago chicken meal combo come out to $14 for a medium. The drink was so watered down. It tasted nothing like Coca-Cola at all. It tasted like cleaner sanitizer and they gave my order to the person in front of me in front of me and then they got the order back from him and brought it right to me after giving it to someone else. And having to stop them in the parking lot. The sandwich was so soggy and very small worse than a McChicken. Biggest waste of $15 I've ever spent. Wendy's is fully tripping. The sandwitch is not worth 8$ alone either and the your paying another 7 dollars for a few fries and a water down fountain drink. Throwing in the towel for fast food. Could've spent 3$ more and sat down at multiple restaurants and been happy. Price was terrible. Service was mediocre. The quality of the food was even worse. Not any better than the last time I was here before the remodel. read more

We were traveling with our dog, and wanted a simple lunch, so we stopped here. I placed an order online, from the parking lot, then walked in five minutes later and my order was ready. Everything was well packed and well prepared. Everything tasted good too. Nice job done by the crew working today 12/27. read more

Went for breakfast w/ my wife. Went there because we wanted to sit and eat. Lobby was closed-big negative. Had trouble ordering as the person didn't speak english. Had trouble placing the order and she still messed it up. Probably not the best assignment for her. My sandwich was good (biscuit, sausage, egg & cheese. My wife's not so much. We walked in tonight for dinner and they told us...(wait for it)...they were OUT OF FRIES. Now tell me, how does Wendy's run out of fries? In fact, that's exactly what I asked them. The employee reaction? There wasn't one (unless you count a blank stare). I've traveled a lot and eaten more fast food than I care to admit, and in all that time, I cannot ever remember a place being out of fries. We left, by the way. I know, I know, what was I thinking of stopping at a national chain fast food restaurant when I was in this area. In my defense, you got to do what you got to do. After a long day roadtripping I was hungry, and fast food would do as I was tired too. Finally getting back to the area three fast food chains sat in a row and I picked the lesser of the three evils. Instead of using the drive thru here, I decided to walk in and order (I always feel rushed when I use the drive thru). The staff inside were friendly and swift, I had my order within minutes. There are lots of good food options on the OBX, so we don't frequent many of the fast food restaurants when we're visiting. But every now and then a late night craving for a JBC wins out and we hit up this Wendy's. This last visit was not so great, and I have to say that in general, the fast food restaurants in the OBX definitely do not stack up to the standards held by those chains in other, non-tourist areas of the country. So first of all, the wait was ridiculous. We went like I said for a late-night burger craving. I went through the drive through at about10:15 p.m., ordered eight sandwiches and nothing else, and it took almost 10 minutes to get my food. It was not busy... there were just a handful of people there. And I really do not understand why it possibly would have taken that long to make eight sandwiches. Perhaps they were understaffed, but 10 minutes is pretty ridiculous for any fast food drive through. In addition, several of the sandwiches were not even really very hot (the cheese did not melt, so I doubt they were ever hot enough). And, pet peeve, I was not given a receipt or asked whether I wanted one. In all very poor form and not so fast "fast food." read more

After being ignored by McDonald's right next door we went to Wendy's and our service was great, workers were nice and polite and our order was right from top to bottom. Definitely recommend over McDonald and their rude and embarrassingly ignorant workers. Also the the food was fresh and very good. read more

This place is an absolute disgrace I wish I could give zero they are not friendly they argued with me over dressing and still gave me the wrong one last time I checked Caesar and ranch are not the same thing honey and on top of that they gave me regular chicken nuggets not spicy ones and they didn't put a lid on my frosty like how hard is it to snap a lid in place this place has continuously disappointed me and frankly I've had enough of it I hope this place gets shut down I'm pretty certain I saw roach in there very disgusted read more

The past 4 times I've been there I've been told that they are out of barbecue sauce and this is over like a month and a half of time. If I ask for bacon on anything I only get one piece... Wendy's food has always been a notch better than other mainstream fast food places. This particular Wendy's is no exception - the food is fine. Just make sure to keep an eye on their menu price discrepancies. I've noticed that several menu items are priced 20 to 30 cents below what you are actually charged. And if you bring it to the attention of the cashier it becomes something of an ordeal to get the menu price. The same manager shows the same amount of surprise each time. I think it's all intentional. I'm writing this because it has been going on for well over a year. Take heed: Read your receipt and make sure to tell them that their menu prices are wrong - and ~always~ in their favor. Over the course of a busy summer day all those extra dimes must really add up. We ordered thru drive-thru and ordered 2 salads, chicken sandwich and 2 drinks...when we picked up the lady missed the salads. We asked her to add 2 grilled chicken berry Burst salad...paid and left...opened up the salad and NO CHICKEN!!! Of course we know what to expect going into one of these fast food chains. Absolutely the worst service ever! Don't ever expect them to get your order right. You can't even understand them in the Drive-Thru seems like no one speaks English there. They get your order wrong and they even charged me double! I used to like Wendy's but after this experience that has happened more than once I'm completely over it. I just went through the Wendy's drive thru and had unexceptionally bad service. Not only did I wait almost 15 minutes in the drive thru for a chicken sandwich and Caesar salad, when they came out (I had to pull up to wait) they told me they made the wrong sandwich and that's why it took so long. When they finally did bring the food, I was short of a medium fry. We pulled around and parked and my boyfriend went inside to explain the situation and ask for the fry we were shorted. When he returned to the car he said they weren't even busy and the employees were standing around in the back eating salad!! No wonder every time I go there and place my order they tell me they are out of full sized salads!! ***Oh my, I just sat down to eat the fries and they are totally inedible due to being overly salted. Wow was this done intentionally??*** To be clear, this is the Wendy's in Southern Shores, not KDH. The one in KDH should have been condemned by now. read more

We were literally the only car to go through the drive through in about a 20 minute period....they forgot, could only be deliberately, butter and sour cream for our potato (the absolute basic ingredients that you should never have to ask for). I wish I could rate this no stars, but unfortunately the option is unavailable. Where to begin??: 1. No changing tables for infants/children in either the male or female bathrooms. 2. Single stall bathrooms for both men and women make a simple stop-and-go potty break take forever. 3. Bathrooms are small and have no where to put belongings like purse or diaper bag (for that diaper change that isn't going to happen) anywhere so everything goes on the floor 4. Slow staff. Enough said. 5. AC unit is horrible and the building becomes a sauna with all the people in it. Will not go back and plan on writing Wendy's as well to voice issues with lack of accommodating facilities for something as simple as a changing table in one or both restrooms. read more

I usually LOVE Wendy's, but I stopped here after being in the car for 8 hours...huge mistake. The girl behind the counter was rude and inattentive. I ordered chicken nuggets, and was given them cold. 2 times in a row now ive gotten sweet tea from here and had to toss it after the 1st sip, either they are keeping the tea longer than 24hrs. or they just dont clean the container or spout. But the bacteria in it has started to ferment. read more

Food is fine but the services is TERRIBLE. The people who work here are slow and don't speak English. Luckily the one person who does speak partial English was running the register but she was still difficult to understand. I asked that they turn down the radio blasting across the intercom because the music playing was obnoxious and way to loud. They NEVER turned it down after I asked them to. We didn't use the bathroom but the restaurant area itself was not notable in either a good or bad way. If you are used to a regular Wendy's I wouldn't say this will disappoint you. In a tourist town the sharper and more energetic staff probably are working at one of the other restaurants for tips rather than at the steady fast food joint. read more
