This is the worst Wendy's in all of Tacoma! Honestly, this location is so poorly managed there is a lot that I could say but I will just comment on my recent experiences. Twice now I've attempted to try the breakfast I've seen advertised but they never have staff for breakfast. The first time someone apologized over the intercom, the next time there was no response at all! When you come at any time, you'd better cut out at least 45 minutes to sit in the drive thru line because it is never "fast food". I would never come to this one if it wasn't the only one near my home & my child didn't love the frosty. At first I thought it was just employees with no sense of urgency or desire to work but at this point it is clear that there needs to be an investigation into the management. Literally the slowest drive through I have EVER been in, I sat in a line of maybe 9-10 cars for right about a half hour. I tried be understanding but there was no apology or anything from the staff even acknowledging what was going on. I watched them walk around the the sloths from zootopia, it was insane! read more

I get working in customer service as a teenager I get that that's why I'm so patient and polite. But when you talk shit about a customer while they are at the window then not admit to it that's horrible horrible customer service let's not even get into almost 6 minutes at the order box just to start taking my order. THEN THEY STILL MESSED UP !! Either you have good customer service or you don't and I guess this store is one of them. And they don't even hand you a receipt with your order. So, I'm pretty happy there's a Wendy's here now. The other times we've wanted one, they've always been 20+ minutes away to get to. Now that we have one about 6 minutes away, I thought hell yes! So as for new businesses, I waited a couple weeks before trying them out. New location, new employees, new management, equals patience. Tried the drive thru and was greeted with a friendly voice. Ordered a Dave's double with cheese, a cod sandwich ( because I'm Catholic and it's Friday) , two 4 piece chicken nuggets, and a chili cheese fry. The wait time in line was average, and both windows were with polite and friendly employees. I said my thanks and drive home. Just to make sure I had everything I took everything out of the bags and looked. Everything's here, hot and ready to eat! This day was unfortunately not a great day for the staff due to being under staffed but the manager Brandon and cashier Evan went above and beyond. This Wendy's is SUPER SLOW. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since we're dealing with the aftermath of covid and no one wants to work. Once I got home I realized I didn't have any of the food I ordered. I called and when someone answered they didn't even say it was Wendy's or whom I was talking with. They wanted me to come back and wait in the drive Thru AGAIN! For new food. That was already a 30 min wait when I ordered the first time. When I said I didn't want to do that all she said to me was "okay" and silence on the other line. I told her I understood mistakes happen and I used to work fast food but she hung up on me. I tried calling back multiple times and the line was busy. As if she left the phone off on purpose. At this point, I'm more upset how she treated me then not getting the correct food. Went here last night in the drive thru and didn't get the correct order. Ordered a small coke and got a small Dr. Pepper. Ordered 2 double stacks and 6 piece nuggets and medium fry. The slowest drive thru avg 30 min wait... gave this place too many chances, I am done. And if you decide to come here go to the right lane always because it never fails- at least 2 cars get through the line before the car on the left gets a chance to go. Quite literally the worst fast-food establishment I've ever been to. We waited in line for 20+ minutes before even getting to the window. No one apologized or even acknowledged us, the food was cold, and they made us wait even longer when we got to the window. When we did get to the window, the boy child at the window had AirPods in and didn't say a word to us. Food was cold, chicken sandwich had one piece of lettuce on it. If I could give 0 stars I would. Smelled horrible like urine inside the store. Napkins and drink lids were almost completely empty and didn't get any napkins in our to go bags( which I assumed we would because there was no napkins available). Staff that took our order was so obviously lazy and moving extremely slow we waited way to long for what we ordered. Terrible place to work for, plenty of times I stayed over my shift until 3 or 4 am in the morning. Terrible communication and they lack to put times for people on the schedule. In terms of being a customer that is also a worker though I never got meal deals while off the clock at mcdonalds you can apparently get free meals or discounted while off the clock. We have given this Wendys a chance twice and that's enough. The first time the staff was very disorganized and couldn't seem to get things together. We waited and waited. Couple in front of us left and we waited some more. Finally just left. This last time we walked in and NO customers inside so we thought good timing....wrong. A girl started walking toward the counter to help us and was immediately barked at by a old crabby man (manager?) at the drive thru position telling her to do all these things (literally yelled at her to do 3 things before helping us) and kept telling at her the entire time. Slowest "Fast food" restaurant I have ever been to. Wendy's has amazing hamburgers for the price and this is really the only close one to us. For those reasons we gave it around 15-20 visits over the past two years. I would say 80% of the time it was a bad experience. Felt we gave it a fair shake but it's just a terribly run location. Wednesday April 22nd 2020 I went to Wendy's and purchased One 4 for $4 (Jr.Bacon cheese burger) , A 10 piece spicy nugget and Two chicken to go wraps and my food was COLD. The manager Monica was very rude. She had a nasty snobby attitude when i called to make a complaint and especially when I went back to get my order made Fresh and Hot. When I went back to get my food she was still very rude and passive aggressive. I love Wendy's and was so excited when they built one in our area. It's been a little less than 6 months since they have been open and unfortunately I would rather not go there. I have been there maybe 7 times and only 1 time was my order correct. Not ok. Also, if someone has a messed up order or an order that takes longer, they need to have them pull around the front. There are plenty of staff inside that can help run the order out. Usually they are watching the drive-thru mess and look embarrassed. They also should have added more parking and less landscape or only one drive-thru lane to assist with this. The 1 star is for the staff who try to be pleasant while dealing with disgruntled customers who are not only upset by the time they've been waiting, but also an order that may be correct but is now Luke warm and so is the frosty they are trying to hand you. read more

And it took forever for the drive through to get my food let alone help other customers in the building. Do you ever wish there was an option for zero stars? That's the feeling I get when I look at this Wendy's. The national advertisement about good fries guaranteed brought me in, and while I had one container of good fries, the other fry and the rest of my food was a disappointment. We got nuggets and a burger, neither of which were edible. Have you ever had a hangry child you try to feed, but can't because the nuggets aren't safe to feed them? By the room temperature of the nuggets and the hardness hockey puck resembling burger patty, I was not able to safely feed my kid. They also have no clue on how to take mobile payments via their own app. They don't take Apple Pay, but don't bother loading money/gift card on the app because the manager will state that "that's not something we take" and argue that a form of payment supported by Wendy's is not taken. I'm literally so upset. One of my kids got fries and had to share them and the rest would have food poisoning if I allowed them to eat this dangerously old food. Wendy's is supposed to be an easy option on long nights, but that's not the case I guess. I was really excited y'all introduced the hot fry guarantee, because it makes it seem like the food is always going to be good, but that's not the case with this Wendy's. I can't believe that I called and tried to get it fixed, I even knocked on the lobby door, but they didn't answer their phone or have the decency to ask what was wrong when a customer was standing outside with a bag of food. What's the point in going to Wendy's if they are going to give you inedible food? And no opportunity for a replacement? I work over at the school sometime so I come here often tonight when I came the lady in the Drive-Thru is very unpleasant. I figured oh well they're kind of busy maybe she's irritated. I ordered a four-for-four which is what I usually get and I asked for a Coke or Pepsi. I also asked her to barbecue and to honey mustard. When I got to the window they handed me a Sprite I politely said oh this is not mine I ordered a Coke. She's very rudely responded we don't carry Coke products I said oh well I said Coke or Pepsi. She rolled her eyes and handed me a Pepsi when she came back I realized I only got one honey mustard in the bag no other sauces at all. I kind of laughed about it and let her know and she also seems like that was a problem. The food was amazing but I suggest that if you're working the window and you're serving people you should try to be kind. It makes for a very unpleasant experience. I will never understand why we have to award stars just to submit a review. Went through the drive thru a moment ago and there were only 3 cars in front of us. But then the line just stopped moving. Sat there for way too long for a fast food restaurant, especially one that wasn't busy. I should have known something was up when the car ahead of me left without their food. We got to the window and sat for another while before the worker Dillon opened the window. I asked why the long wait and he said they were understaffed. He asked if _ was my order. I told him no. Then once he found the correct order he told me my total. As I was reaching to pay I asked if the food would be fresh or if it had been sitting. He rolled his eyes and said "I dunno." I started to drive away because if they don't care about customer service I don't care to eat there. So Dillon leans out the window and yelled "F@!k you!". I pulled around and parked, went in. Asked to speak to a manager, who told me he heard and that Dillon had been reprimanded. Kid was still working the drive. He should have been fired on the spot. Or made to go home for the rest of his shift. Or, heck, even have him take a break to collect himself. Nope, and then he starts talking smack, and then says that I'm lucky he's at work.
