Went to Wendy's in Waipio this weekend and got the Chile. The food was at best room temperature, not even warm. Do they turn off the heat to save on energy? The crackers as usual were stale. This is not the first time that the crackers were left overs from the Vietnam era. Is there no quality control to check the age of the stock and throw the items away before served? I have no idea of how much this would cost the company to throw old and stale food away but I know they won't get any of my business for a long long time. I hope those that read this will also go somewhere else until they begin to serve fresh items that we pay for. I've never had this problem at McDonald's as I think there is some type of quality control there. read more

What a great addition to Waipio! I believe this is where the drive-thru L&L once was. Then it was vacant for the longest time until Wendy's came to save the space! Seems like the newly built Wendy's also inspired its neighbor, Jack in the Box to do some renovating. Wendy's has the 4 for $5 meal combo which is great! Went through the pick-up window (drive-thru). Everything was fine until I drove away and realized the soda was flat and luke warm. There was no ice inside. Probably all melted. At least two hours before. Seems like I was just given a pre-filled drink that had been sitting out all morning. They also got my order wrong by giving me the wrong type of burger. The fries were hot but too salty. Definitely won't be going back to this Wendy's again. read more

Wendy's is one of my favorite fast food joints, so I was stoked when it opened up here! It's been a less than satisfactory experience unfortunately ever since it arrived. For one, the drive through is always backed up. Service is good, but slow. I also think that the design of he drive through contributes to the never ending line. The curve makes it so you can't see any portion of the menu until it's your turn, giving you no chance to try and see your order beforehand. Because the drive through is always slow, day or night, there is a lot more Traffic now On the road with people trying to enter. Food is decent, just like your typical Wendy's, but after 3 tries and fails of constant waiting, I probably won't go much anymore. read more

Wendy's Waipio/Waipahu is on my way home from work, so I frequently go there for an after-work snack. They make the best JR. Cheeseburger deluxe and have an outstanding chili! If you are a senior, they give you a free small drink. Nobody gives you free things anymore. On weekends I usually do McDonalds for breakfast, $6.00 you get a Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice, platter and a large diet coke for $1.00. Cheapest and best breakfast in town. Well one day I felt sorry for Wendy's because it was early morning and no one was in their drive thru. I found out why! I order one of their breakfast sandwiches and it was the worse I have ever had. There was a white cheese (?) all melted around the egg and sausage (I think there was egg and sausage in there for I really couldn't see), I took one bite and throw it away. I will continue to go back to Wendy's, but just for their lunch and dinner menu. read more

LOCATION: So this new Wendy's location is located next to jack in the box in waipio gentry where the old l&l used to be PARKING: no more than 20 stalls total and the parking lot is very tiiight. Configuration is tricky if your trying to turn around and someone's coming out of the drive thru DRIVE THRU: tight configuration and the lines are super long because of course it's new, so just be aware cus it's a little bit of a squeeze STAFF: was very great quick informative and customer attentive. DECOR: absolutely beautiful because of course it is brand new SODA MACHINES: I'm personally not a fan of the coke machines, I don't like coke in general I'm a Pepsi girl but for some reason these type of coke machines the coke always taste weird but clean beautiful and work very well read more

Living in Mililani, Wendy's was one of the better fast food chains we still have to leave the neighborhood to visit. The Wahiawa location was one of the first to get the new Wendy's look, so it was worth the drive, but Waipio is a little closer and better situated next to other shops and stores. The space is large and well lit, and the food is Wendy's, so no real complaints... besides a slightly too tight parking lot. read more

One of the better Wendy's on the island. Food was fresh, parking was fine (it has its own, but also shares a big lot with other shops, so at peak times it should still be okay). Nice modern floor plan and foot traffic design. Clean appearance and operations looked like they were efficient. The surrounding area is nice and spread out. The huge Patsy Mink park across the way helps, so claustrophobic folks need not worry. read more

Located in Waipio right by jack in the box, near foodland. Can't go wrong with Wendy's, always good food, you can even get some good deals. I like getting the giant jbc (junior bacon cheese burger) also comes with nuggets, fries and a drink for $6 and it always gets me full! If I feel extra hungry, I'll get a son of a baconator, or maybe just a baconator but rarely because it gets too much for me. Can't you tell I love bacon? Lol. I like that they have self serve drinks, that offer Vanilla Coke, one of my favorites and also a lot of other flavored coke drinks. The workers here are very friendly and we just recently been coming here once a week to meet up for grace group and they don't seem to mind. Will be coming back again for the food and to dine in. read more

One day I went and everything was great! Hot and crispy!! I was definitely a happy camper. Unfortunately the last 4 times I've been there since the fries have been soggy and cold. Tonight I decided to have them make a fresh batch cause like the other days they were soggy and cold. Minus 1 star. If I wanted soggy fries I would have drove up the road to McDonalds. As I waited for the fries, another customer pulls up in the drive thru. IDGAF. I'm waiting on my order. Then being that I'm holding up the line, the "Olive Oyl" looking girl with the 2 foot lashes starts slamming drinks on the counter, I suppose in disgust that someone should have the gall to ask for their guarantee. I ordered the cod sandwich combo. The cod was so overcooked it was CHEWY. It was greasy and the fish was dry (probably from the overcooking). About a quarter of my fries were overcooked, greasy and inedible. I wonder how many times they threw these items back into the fryer? read more

Poor, inconsistent service, especially the drive-thru. On 7/16/18: ordered berry burst salad at drive-thru for my wife. Drove home and discovered Wendys staff didn't include the salad packs or almonds. Had to drive all the way back to get them. Since they have offered this salad on their menu, 75% of the time the workers forget to include the almonds when I have ordered it. So I've had to ask them if they included the almonds. This time they forgot both the dressing and almonds. 7/18/18: Ordered berry cherry tea. Instead of red, the tea was pink and had no taste. 50% of the time we have ordered this tea, it either is pink and tasteless or a deep red and very good. On 7/18/18 my wife called to complain. The worker was dismissive and not interested--she told my wife twice that she was the first to complain about the tea, indirectly telling her: "what you say is of no consequence or relevance to Wendys, since you're the only one to complain. So I don't have to listen to you." My wife told her that we are no longer going to order the tea. The employee's response? CRICKETS. Buying pink water that passed for berry cherry tea at the cost of $2.99 is not worth it. And try ordering a side order of plain white rice, especially from the drive-thru. The workers cannot handle it--they get all confused and flustered and have great difficulty. My wife gave up ordering a side of white rice because of the difficulties I encountered at the drive-thru. We don't understand why a side order of white rice is so difficult for the workers to handle. I have given up ordering their hamburgers. Every time I've ordered a Dave's single at the drive-thru or sitting down in the restaurant, it is lukewarm or cold. Three times I have also experienced stomach pains and intestinal problems within 20 minutes of eating their burgers I've bought from the drive-thru, so I've stopped ordering any hamburgers from Wendy's. We don't live that far from this Wendy's, so cold hamburgers from the drive-thru are inexcusable. Wendy's started off great, but their service and consistency of food has sharply declined since they opened. Given the inconsistent quality of the tea, the salad elements not being included, the cold hamburgers, and poor customer service, we're going to take our business elsewhere. Don't eat here. Ordered from the drive through. By the time I got home, 5 minutes later, my fries were already cold and stale. They were also way over salted. Seemed like they were trying to hide the fact that they'd been sitting out for a while. On a more disgusting note, after eating half of my fries I noticed bugs crawling around on the fry box. I dumped the rest out on a burger wrapper and saw that there were even more dead bugs stuck on the fries. I thought it was seasoning. I came to this realization with a mouth full of food. I almost vomited. Another review on here said they found rat droppings on their burger. The soda was also disgusting. It tasted like someone had poured all of the different sodas from the fountain into my cup. Gross. Never eating Wendy's again. This story is good and a little long, so grab a frosty and get ready!! First of all, I never sit in fast food restaurants. More of a drive-through gal. But on this particular day, I had to sit, relax and just enjoy my food with my daughter. To go back a little bit.... before I got to this Wendy's restaurant, I was about to head to the doctors. I was having chest pain and concluded it was my anxiety. Upon leaving my house to go to the doctors, I had a major anxiety attack on the road that prompted me to pull on the side and calm myself down. I called 911 and they helped me immensely. (Getting out of context? No, we are getting there ok). So the paramedics reassured me everything was okay and I was able to safely drive. Wendys is the first place I see that's cheap, relatively good and has nice seating atmosphere. I was starving too, haven't eaten breakfast. I walk in looking like S*HIT with my two year old daughter on my shoulder. (THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD OK). I'm greeted by a lady at the cash register with warm smile and very genuine attitude. It was so refreshing to see. She takes my order and me and my daughter sit down and find a sit. The cashier, whom I later see her name is FAITH on her name tag kindly walks my order to our seat. I was literally stunned. "Thank you so much, that's so sweet of you." "What would you like for your drink?I'll get that for you too" her smile was so genuine and warm. She actually went to fill up my cup!! Who does that ever? I WAS STUNNED AGAIN. this beautiful human, faith, treated me so kindly and she had no idea I had just been through the scariest moment of my life. Wendys doesn't know, (maybe they do), that they have the kindest, humblest and hardest worker in the world. No one has ever treated me like that on any place HIGH END OR FAST FOOD. The drive thru guy taking orders was rude, the girl passing out orders didn't wanna give us our drinks and held on to it longer than usual it was weird. I've come here quite often since this location opened up. I'm so glad they have a Wendy's closer to home which resulted coming here at least once a month. It's usually clean in the dining area and plenty of seats. I've had their burgers to salads and everytime its consistently very good and my order comes out quickly. I don't what it is with fast food joints. No matter who I order meals from, there always a mistake. Just ordered something through DoorDash and I ordered two sugar cookies and received only one. You fast food workers are calling for $15/hr minimum wage, yet you can't simple orders rights. Whether I use a delivery service or drive thru personally, something is always wrong. I was so excited for this restaurant to open. I live in Waipio and watched the progress from L&L, to lot, to new Wendy's. There are many things that I can eat at Wendy's (in regards to my diet) so tracking when it would open was exciting. But they had no signs or banners up?! Big mistake. Huuuge. So when our family stumbled upon the open restaurant, we were all in. We parked in their little lot. Not a good design if you park deep within. We went to the counter, ordered and then stood in the waiting area. It is not a big place, if there are five people waiting, there is no room. This waiting area is my least favorite design. It is a brand new restaurant and the inside design sucks, to me. Our order was called and it was not correct, but it was day one, so no mark down there. The last thing I want to comment on was the soda dispenser. It is the 200 flavor one, found on cruise ships, Olina theaters, Foodlands and Liliha bakery (near Dole). I hate this machine. The Coke is not a good Coke flavor, it's weak and has tinges of all the other sodas found within. Like when you order a soda from McDonalds and it tastes like fruit punch and root beer and diet. The only reason for the 1 star is because you can't continue if you don't give it a rating. Wendy's was never really our family's favorite restaurant because we never know what to order besides my children loving the frosty. We never go to Wendy's however, my family was on our way home when my 3 and 5 year old really had to go. Wendy's was right there so we pulled in. We got to the door and was stopped because they were closed. (Mind you we didn't know it was close and there was still people in the restaurant eating), so when someone came out I just unknowing opened the door and the employee said were closed. I politely asked can my children just use the restroom really fast. (My kids were holding their pee and jumping, they really had to go) we were denied. I asked the manager and the manager said they can't let them use the restroom due to safety issues. I can't believe that! There were people still eating in the dining area. What the hell is the difference. I said look their jumping up and down and they still refused. I understand they have a policy and they lock the door at 10pm (it was 10:02 when we got there) but to turn down kids that really needed to use the restroom is beyond ignorant and the manager seemed really arrogant. There were customers still eating and we wouldn't have taken more than a few minutes. I have a family of 14 siblings. I will make sure that none of us go to Wendy's in Waipio and let them know to spread the word, Because to deny children access to use the restroom when there is still customers in there is just concerning that they would treat people/children like that in a fast food industry. It's not like it's a high end restaurant. Hopefully the employees at Wendy's never get to experience that type of denial when it comes to their children.
