Wanted to eat a juicy burger for lunch and on the whim drove to Shay's Smashburgers. Slightly busy about 4 groups of people waiting for their order. Order took about 15 minutes until it was done, not too bad. They have a bunch of tables with shade to wait or eat at. Ordered a classic, all American and bacon me krazy fries. Food was hot and fresh! They give out plastic gloves to eat your food with. Very considerate of them. The classic burger is just your typical burger. The all American on the other hand is so delicious, juicy and filled with flavor. Each bite I took, the juices from the tomato and sauce was spilling out. Bacon me krazy fries is fries topped with the secret sauce and bacon bits. The sauce tasted like mustard mix with something else. Not too sure but you could definitely taste the mustard. Not a big can of mustard but this just made me like it! Would come back again.

Solid burger spot! Heard about them for years but never stopped. Finally had the chance and it was worth it! They aren't smash burgers. They are burgers and slightly smashed, but def not smash burgers. Regardless, they're good! And super messy! Ordered the single traditional with bacon fries. The old school mustard mayo sauce makes it. Well worth the drive! Service is quick and friendly. Lots of parking and outdoor seating! Take lots of napkins. It's messy, but worth it!

Here I am looking for smash burger places in town and I see this place pop up and have the thought that I probably forgot to do my review and yup, that's what happened. We came here a couple months ago after seeing it pop up online somewhere I think. It's a small food truck in a parking lot off the main highway, easy enough to find and park. The wait is a little bit because it's made fresh so no big deal. We got the Fun Guy Smashburger, All-American Smashburger, and the Bacon Me Crazy Fries. The Fun Guy was pretty huge, a little messy like it should be, and delicious! Anything with truffle is a pretty easy win for me. The combination of the smash burger patty with the cheese, truffle aioli, mushrooms, and onion jam sounds like a lot but it's well-balanced and a flavor bomb. The fries were crispy and the crispy bacon with cheese sauce was yummy on the speciality fry option. Would definitely go back again!

My friend said this lowkey be the best burger on the island and we decided to make the trip out for me to decide for myself. Shay's has some outdoor seating, covered but definitely not in the best condition but good enough to sit shortly and grub before dipping. My friend got the classic and I got the all American. We also got the bacon krazy fries to share. The all american burger was good, juicy and done well. I could've used more salt but I just love salt tbh. I know it's a smash burger but I definitely feel like the classic was sooo small, not enough as a meal. The bacon fries weren't crazy but a good side to the burger. I mentioned that it would be fire with a meat (not js bacon) and he said you could ask for that so I would recommend others to try that out. The secret sauce also tastes a LOT like chick-fil-a sauce loll. Definitely not close to the BEST burger on the island imo but definitely a solid one.

Tried this place last time we were on the island and it was so good we had to try it again. It did not disappoint. This catering truck is not much to look at and if you're looking for ambiance, this isn't for you. But they make a great smash burger and fries. All food is cooked to order and is hot and fresh. They double cook their fries and you gotta have them with the krazy sauce. So ono. Got the classic and the all American this time and they were delicious. The folks running this place are very nice, humble, hard working people. Give 'em a try!

I paid $22 for this, it's supposed to be a fun guy Smashburger and crazy fries. But it looks like there's no crazy with the fries. I even gave a $5 tip hoping they would drizzle some little bit extra cheese, but turns out I got NO cheese. Just ketchup. I really need to stop leaving a tip! And check my orders before walking away!

One of the better burger places in Aiea. I can't point to one thing about the burger that makes it so special, it's just the totality of the burger, the bun, the toppings, and the sauce. It's just a really good burger. Now the thing about this is it is a food truck, that means thae seating is limited to some open air picnic tables with the usual ambience of bugs and it can be somewhat hot. Also, if you go there at the wrong time, it can be a wait for your burger. On this last trip I waited almost 25 minutes for my order to come out, which was a little too long, even for a good burger. I usually just get the regular fries, they are quite good!

Since I paid an extra $3.50 for my onion rings I was very disappointed. Only plus is they were nice and crunchy. Hubby's burger and fries were hot, so my order must have been made first and then just sat there for a while. Hubby was happy with his meal since it was hot and cooked medium as he ordered. I would say that Forty Niner is a great place to get the bang for your buck in terms of pricing for their food, but I will say that the quality of the food isn't as great as it's presented on their ordering site, Beluga. Today, my husband and I chose to do takeout and ordered three things: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Chorizo Hash, and the Molokai Loco Moco. For the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the lemon taste was pretty concentrated in the middle of the pancake/not well distributed and we couldn't really taste the ricotta flavor, but it was pleasantly sweet (not too sweet). For the Chorizo Hash, I was a little bit sad that it wasn't very flavorful and the Chorizo wasn't well cooked. The Molokai Loco Moco's flavor receives the same review as the Chorizo Hash; although it was special/the first time we'd had Loco Moco like that, it was pretty soggy/watery and lacked flavor. The food itself in my opinion gets a 3.5/5, but because they were timely and friendly as a staff, I'm bumping our review up to a 4! P.S: This location is in the corner of a neighborhood street and Kam Hwy and the parking is pretty small/limited!

Anyways, I like this location a lot more than the Kapolei location because it's bigger and it's not white light reflecting off white light, much easier on the eyes. I took off two stars because I ordered the same grilled cheese that I did the day before, had a great experience and it was night and day this time around. The one I had in Kapolei was able to melt the cheese, but this one didn't even seem like they tried...so I asked if they could make it again. Understandably, when I asked if they could make it again, they asked what was wrong and I told them the cheese wasn't melted, which sets my expectations for the next one. They made another one (begrudgingly) and I got the same results as far as the cheese. But at least this one was warm so more heat did hit the cheese, but just not enough to melt it per my request. Other than my sad grilled cheese (that wasn't grilled) the fries were great and my friends who got actual burgers were very happy with their food.

No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there.

I called the day before to order a small party pan of Fried Udon, and wow - it was really good! They were very generous with the beef, udon, and veggies. Unfortunately, the whole reason I ordered fried udon was to avoid eggs for my nephew, but I completely forgot to mention that when I placed the order... oops! Lol! He just skipped the noodles that day, but the adults were more than happy to enjoy his share for him! When I called to ask about pickup, I was hoping for 10am, but was told the earliest it could be ready was 10:30. I said, "Shux! I'll already be back in Ewa Beach by then, so it's okay." To my surprise, the woman on the phone offered to have it ready earlier, and we settled on 10:15 instead. I really appreciated her willingness to accommodate my schedule. It was one of my favorite dishes here. Unfortunately, the food just didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. The pork chop in particular tasted a little off to me, and instead of the Chinese-inspired flavors I remembered, the dishes felt more like local comfort food with a bit of Chinese flair. The overall experience also felt a little lacking in warmth and friendliness. I know many restaurants are facing challenging times, and it's never my intention to leave a low review. I genuinely want local businesses to succeed. But one thing I've learned throughout my food journey is that when food is made with love, you can taste it. It's more than just the ingredients--it's the care, pride, and aloha that come with it. And when that feeling is missing, you notice it too. This is simply my honest experience. No hate, just Queenie keeping it real. I'm hoping this was just an off day, and I truly wish them the best moving forward.
