I don't ever post negative reviews but it was horrible tonight at Wendy's Waipio drive-thru. I waited a half hour for nothing no food no service and when I called the restaurant to let them know that I had been waiting for 15 minutes all the person could say was they're shorthanded. I told him I wanted to get out of that drive-thru line and he said well cannot do anything, and I just gotta wait so I had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get out of the drive-thru. It seems that the manager, the store manager, general manager, whoever is running this Wendy's could have done a better job by asking the person in front to move and park on the side if their order was gonna take that long to allow the rest of us to either leave or they could've continued to take orders I've been to many other fast food restaurants that are shorthanded, and they seem to find a way to run their drive-thru efficiently. Unfortunately, I cannot give this restaurant any stars because really even one star is one star too many. I will never return to this Wendy's because to me the manager doesn't care. I get it that you're shorthanded, but I think there's a better way of handling it and I think there was a better answer that I could've received. Stopped by for some frosties with my son. He got strawberry, I got chocolate. There were no spoons in the tray so I waited at the counter for several minutes for someone to give me one and was ignored by the staff. Finally the cashier, when he was done with the customer he was checking out, gave me one but didn't acknowledge that I'd been waiting all that time. When I finally started eating the frosty I discovered it was completely melted (my son's was okay, so it wasn't due to the wait). When I told the cashier he said it would be 15 minutes before the machine was fixed and that I could have "a cookie or something" if I wanted. No one goes to Wendy's for the cookies. Just got the worst fast food french fries I ever had. Looked like they had been out of the fryer for an hour, and weren't even under a lamp. Cold, limp and saturated with oil. Went thru the drive-thru and took one out as I was driving away and thought what the *ell? If I had been dining in I would have asked for me money back. Well where to start! Went to Wendy's for a double stack and sour cream and chive potatoes. Easy order right Well as I get back to work I began eating, first off NO butter, but that's ok maybe I don't need it anyways, everything is going good so far, I am eating my double stack and I notice what I thought to be a sesame seed on my bun, don't think much of it, but then after a few bites I say to my self, what if it's not a sesame seed. My grandnephew always look forward to his Wendy's Waipio drive thru for his snack. Always the saw order his Strawberry Frosty and kids cheeseburger, for some reason I couldn't get this employee to get this order straight that my 8 years old told me what's wrong with that guy? So, for an 8 year to recognize something wasn't right, yeah, you have a problem, provide better service for your order taker for your drive thru, the line gets unnecessarily long. Have you gone to dine-in at this new Wendy's? After weeks of eating via drive-thru at this new location, we finally stopped by to see the inside.. and I was pretty impressed! As you walk in, there is a faux fireplace with an adorably set up 4 seater area with a flatscreen above. For a second I thought I was in a bar. The food I would say is typically pretty consistent with the other Wendy's, except the time before today that we went, my boyfriend's burger was unbelievably salty. I thought he was just being picky but when we took apart the burger, there was so much added salt, you could actually see it. It looked like someone knocked over a salt shaker onto it. Also, a bacon burger meal was over $10. My gosh. I'm not liking these rising prices fast food chains are coming up with! The cashier was kind of just... there. No expression or anything. Really disappointed. Ordered a cheesy baked potato tonight and it was uncooked. I knew something was up when the baked potato looked just like it was sliced in half with a cheese spread on it. When I tried to use my fork on it, it was really hard/raw. It was as if it was not baked at all and they just warmed it up or something. This Wendy's has only been open about two weeks. It's a nice new facility. However, not dining at a Wendy's in about 10 years I didn't really know the menu all that well, even having reviewed it on line before getting there. There is no advance menu for drive-thru until you are at the ordering screen, and with a long line of cars behind, that's no time to look for calorie count (not that I ever do) nor the best deal for what you want. No sign of sizes, etc...know it when you get there. What I really wanted, a chicken wrap, wasn't on the posted menu and I didn't bother to inquire as to its whereabouts. I will echo what others have said, the parking lot is cramped, especially if a car drives in with hopes of getting a parking space toward the back because front ones are filled. That's where the drive-thru vehicles exit. If they have to turn around, well that's probably similar to turning around on H-1 at 5PM on any given Friday afternoon. Let's just say it's not a pleasant deal, and it's very doubtful that can be remedied any time soon. I had my pup with me, we planned to eat on the lanai in front, and found an empty parking space near the front lot. Not too bad. Next time, however, probably best to just park across the street in the shopping center (whose management will probably look for people doing that in the future and tow their cars). The outdoor seating is nice in the evening when there's no sun, but I am pretty sure it's not all that great during summer daytime heating and bright sun, not to mention people going in and out of the indoor area. My pup liked the seat she had, other than quite a few small kids there interested in her, which she wasn't used to (but they were nice kids). It is noteworthy that some restaurants do not hassle patrons with pups that sit outside and are responsible in controlling those pups. Apparently that was not an issue tonight. That's a plus, worth a star in itself. All that said, I now remember why I've made no effort to go a Wendy's in the last 10 years. The homestyle chicken sandwich was like sawdust with lettuce and a tomato, the junior hamburger was overloaded and swimming in ketchup and mustard; probably other things that also drowned in there as well. My Diet Coke, as others have suggested, was generic at best due to a common fountain, possibly the button that was pushed to pour it said Diet Coke, but any semblance of that ended there. The fries...well, just not the best I've had, not even in the top ten among fast food options, unfortunately. Even a little bit of crisp might be a target worth aiming for. I am optimistic that the food aspect of dining at Wendy's will improve, but thinking back ten years, odds are not promising. If not, then after a while the parking issue could well solve itself. So yes, it was nice to visit a large new facility despite extremely inadequate parking space. But truthfully, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. read more

The food quality is there, and how they make their burgers square when everyone knows burgers come round... The drive thru is slow, and the single register format at the inside counter is not much better, but the employees seem to be pretty excited still about the new location...they have been wonderful thus far. In fact, I'm sitting inside the restaurant right now. I had ordered a choco frosty, but no one filled the slurry. The employee apologized and asked that I sit down...he would bring to me. I told him vanilla was ok for now, so he gave to me, but promised a free refill with choco when ready. I didn't even finish my vanilla when the worker delivers a new chocolate frosty to my table. I would say I was pretty excited to come to Wendy's since I haven't been here in a while. I ordered two $7 biggie bags it comes with your choice of the selected sandwiches, fries, 4 chicken nuggets, and a drink. I got a bacon cheeseburger. When I got to the drive thru to the employees, there was absolutely no interaction, no service. There also was no bacon in both of the burgers. The employee just took my card and passed my food along. The customer service was not there. I got the food and the burgers were cold, one of the burger buns were hard as a rock, the meat was cold. I definitely knew those burgers were sitting for a while. I get it's at night but if your serving your customers cold food that's been sitting for a while, that's a problem. Also when I gave my card, the employee didn't say how much it costed. The employee didn't even give me a receipt. Cold food, No Customer service. I won't be coming back here anytime soon. read more

It took over the old Kentucky Fried Chicken then the Chinese Restaurant. We had the 4 for $5 promo twice but my Husband the extra special with extra patty & cheese LOL. If I could give a zero, I would... Usually when I order alone in the day time for lunch, this Wendys is on it. My family and I decided to go to this Wendys because it's cleaner than the Wahiawa one and we thought it would be a smooth experience for dinner... we were WRONG! First off, I paid in cash and was NOT given a receipt, I even ran sacked all the bags in our order and no receipt found. Mind you, we live ALL THE WAY OUT in Waialua. We get home and open the orders and there's cheese on my brother's double that I stated NO CHEESE because he's allergic. Then I order TWO number ones DOUBLE and only got one double and one single. Oh and the single didn't have cheese. So NEVER put your guard down with this place. My family and I never really eat Wendy's... until now! We went on opening day and have been hooked ever since. I absolutely love the "healthier for fast food" menu. Best of all, now my kids prefer to eat here than the other fast food places. They love the seating area with the fireplace and T.V. We have never had a problem with waiting for our food here. And with our busy schedules, we been here a lot! One issue I have of this place is with the parking lot design. A bit awkward if you ask me. I really hope they keep this place clean, unlike the other newer Wendy's in Kapolei. I know for my family, we will keep coming here if they do! read more

Customer service like this is what deters people from supporting companies. I recently made a donation to "Boo! for books" where you give $1 to an organization via Wendy's, and they give you a coupon for free frostys. I waited the two weeks to redeem my coupon and when I did, I was told I had to buy something to redeem the coupon. I asked the girl where is says that because the coupon doesn't say purchase is necessary. I rolled up to the window and showed her my coupon and when she realized she was wrong, she immediately had a nasty attitude and poured my frosty (half full) an handed it to me with a fake smile. I drove off, didn't even eat the frosty. Forget that man, way to ruin someone's day. This Wendy's has been added to my never return list. Okay I'll admit nice location and inside is nice as pretty much all Wendy's are. Clean and like the soda machines. And they even have which I recently found our bake potato natural with chives. ONO. I give a star for nice place, clean, bake potato. So lucky I gave 3 stars So far I can't stand.. I feel like I can't ask questions and if I do the workers respond most of the time LIKE I'M DUMB. I have come across 1 nice employee which was a manager who was very kind -- Every OTHER time I've come here RUDE EMPLOYEES.
