54.90 for this crap Picked up the food 3 lunch meals Small portions and wrong order received. Grub hub is a terrible provider Never again When you go online and order grub hub cons you by being a sponsor and pops up without any notification Pows you for 30% fees on top of the menu prices Scam

Long time favorite of mine. Old school Chinese restaurant. No frills. Great food, price and service. 10 dollar lunches specials with egg roll and soup. Open during the pandemic and bad weather supporting the community with great food.

Service was fast and courteous, as we spent approximately 45 minutes there. We arrived before 5, just before dinner time. My husband ordered beef with broccoli and crab ragoons. I ordered general chicken with egg rolls. My husband said the beef was stretchy and fake-feeling. The gravy was flavorful and savory. Broccoli was crisp tender. Crab was perfectly crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Chicken was thickly battered...run of the mill general chicken. Wish I'd had more veggies in it. Egg rolls had HUGE globs of cabbage and made chewing them difficult to eat. Didn't finish them. Way too many places like this to return again.

I hate to say it, but the best thing about this place is the water, and only because it's free. From the moment you walk in, the pace smells like cigarette smoke, which is completely unacceptable for any restaurant. My son's broccoli beef was actually drowning in sauce, which had a distinct "mothball" taste. See pic, as it is really "over the top," and could actually be soup if it wasn't disgusting. My shrimp with lobster sauce also had a weird after taste, but wasn't totally offensive. The fried rice was a solid C, and without any flavor. The staff was fine, and no complaints other than the food. That's generally a concern.

I just moved to the area and trying to find a good spot for Chinese food nearby, you know to support local businesses. I saw this place really close by. So I called and ordered sweet and sour chicken to go. I ordered sweet and sour coz I known they can't go wrong with it. The first time opened my food. I'm a little skeptical about it. The sauce is watery. I know it's not freshly cooked. The chicken is flour coating is so I thick and I'm sure it's double fried. Anyway, I know how to cook a little and I've been to many chinenese restaurant. Chinese food is my comfort food. That is why I said I'm skeptical about the food just by looking at it. Sure enough, chicken is dry And tough, has no taste and too much coating, the sweet and sour are bland. Taste like it's a ready made sauce. I dont except my food to be ready within 5mins. The only good thing about this restaurant is my order came with rice. Going to this place? I'd say No. ill probably drive a little to get a better and decent Chinese food. Recommend this place, definitely No.

man, to start this off, I just want to say from the moment you walk in the building it smells so bad like sewage. I've only smelt this smell one time in my life when I was in the military and the sewer pipes on our boat had a backflow and started flowing onto the ship, it smells absolutely insane. I started to feel sick before I could even get my food we were out of here. We all smelt it, it was sickening. service wasn't bad but couldn't eat here

IYKYK - this is probably the best Peking Duck I've had in Houston in a long time. I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

UPDATE - lowering this to one star because both my wife and I got sick last night on this stuff!…read more So I walked into the restaurant thinking I'm going to get som amazing Asian food....as I entered the heat of the inside hit me - it was easily 78 degrees. That should've been my first sign when I walked in. It was hotter inside than it was outside. I picked up the menu looked at it for a hot second and then thought well. I'll just order something. So naturally, I said pad Thai, standard Asian meal. Not at this place they didn't have it and she looked at me strange. So I proceeded to look at the menu and found some random dish that looked decent and ordered. Then I ordered drinks and she told us after we had paid the soda had no carbonation in the machine so we could get the drinks out of the fridge. So we went and got the drinks out of the fridge, sat down open them up they both were flat. I suspect if I had checked the dates they were both expired, but I didn't bother. So we sat down and literally one minute later, the food came out... Which tells me that all the food was likely premade, and this was just a buffet that was hidden in the back. I ate, and it was well.... Let's just say the Woodlands Mall Asian foods a bit better than this stuff. Anyhow, I did encourage the team who works here to turn the AC down a little bit, make sure the fridge doesn't have expired drinks/flat drinks, make the food like they serve it to their family. I'll report back shortly and let you know if there are any biological effects of this food... All that for $45 - two dishes, two flat drinks, two rice.

The woman who took the order over the phone and at the pick up counter wasn't very personable. Seemed as if she was rushing around although the restaurant wasn't at all busy inside. Perhaps just having a bad night? We ordered Chicken Lo Mein, General Tao's, Honey Walnut Chicken, crab puffs, and spring rolls -- portions for dishes were fairly standard, all of which were just ok regarding flavor and texture. General Tso's lacked spice and the texture of the chicken was gristly. Lo Mein was average tasting. Honey Walnut Chicken actually had more spice than the General Tso's... but regardless, was pretty bland. The crab puffs had hardly any cream cheese filling, and the ends of the fried pieces were hard and chewy which was disappointing. How can you screw up a crab puff? The best thing we ate were the spring rolls which were light and crispy paired with the sweet and sour sauce. We wanted to like this place, however, there are far superior Chinese restaurants in the area. I doubt we will try again.
