Had a great experience at Werewolf Bar & Restaurant! Morgan, our server, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. The pancakes were especially good and sweet enough that we didn't even need syrup! One thing to keep in mind is that they add an extra 4.5% fee to the bill called the HOH (Heart of House) fee, which goes toward the upkeep of the establishment. They do say it's voluntary and can be removed, but realistically, who's going to ask to have it taken off? Personally, I'd rather see them raise their menu prices a little instead of adding a separate fee. That said, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!
It was just okay.. I wouldn't go out of my way to go They are extremely busy for brunch so definitely have a reservation, but the service and food were pretty slow I ordered the biscuits and gravy, fine but wouldn't get it again The constant yelling is also a lot , not the general noise of the restaurant , but the HEY EVERYONE WE WRE GOING TO YELL "blank" ON THE COUNT OF THREE!"
We came here late Sunday night after dropping family off at CBX. We ordered a couple of drinks, burger. Sliders, and potato balls. All were except and delicious. Shout to the grill man. Food was excellent, so for keep asking you for extras from the kitchen. It was that good. Just remember that it is hot this time of the year and get your AC working better. Will be back.
Stopped in today before heading out of San Diego. There was a short wait. There was also ample street parking. The staff was very friendly. The four of us loved the blueberry lemon pancakes. You could smell the lemon as soon as they were on the table and lots of blueberries! My daughter and I each ordered the blue plate. I gave my bacon to my son who seemed to enjoy it. The cheesy eggs with chives are perfection! The potatoes and biscuit are also really good. My husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The place is lively and slightly loud so if you're looking for a quiet place to brunch this isn't it. Overall we enjoyed our food and the aesthetic. We would definitely go back.
Everything about Werewolf is a vibe. The food. The brews and booze. The quintessential Gaslamp crowd. The attentive staff (shoutout to Mo/Morgan). The brunch menu on weekends. It's got it all - including karaoke at nights.
Well, first of all, this is a very cool spot and I kind of got caught in between brunch and lunch so I didn't eat as much as I normally would. But the one word that describes this place is service and Ruby. Every single person had a huge smile on their face and couldn't wait to help. You just don't find that very often, but I found it in the last 24 hours in the gas lamp it quite a few places. The menu here has something for everyone Plus great Beers and a really nice mimosa. I'll be back as soon as I can because I got a ticket for a free mimosa. Thank you, Ruby and Amber. I think also helped love them all.
Came here on a whim hoping for brunch but it was already like 5 mins before 3pm so had to stick with lunch. Nonetheless, our food and drinks was so good. Fiona helped us from start to finish and was just an absolute sweetheart to my mom and I. She asked for our names & how our day was. We ordered steak tacos & breakfast burrito & 2 alcoholic beverages. Steak tacos & burrito--my mom enjoyed her tacos and meat was cooked tender to her liking. shes not a fan of onions & enjoyed the dish very much since there wasnt any in the tacos. my burrito was perfectly made not extremely greasy either & yet full of flavor. potatoes crispy on the inside & they were able to give me a side of sour cream. Drinks- not sure how much alcohol may have been in mine or if any at ALL but regardless it tasted like a tropical vacation in a glass. the whipped cream was a perfect addition. mom got a tiramisu martini and that was SO good i almost wanted hers instead of mine! perfect for brunch if you want a strong coffee lol atmosphere- bar setting but still plenty of seats/tables & of course your bar area. great personalities all around id definitely come back here!
I selected Werewolf due to the yelp rating and number of reviews. It did not disappoint. Our server, Fiona, was very personable learning all customers names. The place was jumping, with a DJ and hip hop music. The food was fantastic, I had the pancake with eggs and subbed meat for avocado. My husband had steak scramble, which was seasoned well. I have to say the bathrooms were wallpapered with comics, a little dark but thought it was cool. Definitely recommend.
Had such a great experience at Werewolf! The food was so good! We had the breakfast burrito, chicken inna biscuit, steak scramble, and the cinnamon roll cakes, and everything was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The drinks were just as amazing. I had the Blossom Something and the Juicy K, and both were great recommendations from the hostess Jazzy who was also wonderful and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Our waitress Fiona was amazing and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great food, great drinks, and great service all around. We'll definitely be back!
I've been here twice now, and both visits were before a Padres day game for brunch. Both times the food was absolutely phenomenal. My first visit I ordered the sausage and gravy, and the second time I went with the Cali burrito. They were completely different dishes, but both were fantastic and packed with flavor. The service is what really sets this place apart, though. On both visits our servers were attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead. I especially love that they actually ask for your name and then remember it throughout your meal. It's such a small touch, but it makes you feel genuinely welcome and says a lot about the quality of people they have working there. And I have to mention the tiramisu martini because I ordered it both times and it did not disappoint. It's the perfect brunch cocktail. This has quickly become one of my favorite pre Padres game spots, and I'll definitely keep coming back.
Went for the first time to this Karaoke bar right in the heart of Gaslamp in San Diego. We went on a Saturday night after a Padres game. The bar was very low my with such positive and fun vibes. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The Karaoke DJ host, Marlene, was amazing. She kept the bar lively and the customers engaged. Food was good too. Had a burger and beer, and both were delicious. Already making plans to go back.
This place is awesome for brunch. Vibe is lit. Drinks are good. Food is good. And it doesn't break the bank. They have a dj during brunch and the music was good. Food was good. Those breakfast balls were EVERYTHING! The bourbon burger was good too! Taylor is a ROCKSTAR and definitely needs a raise and a promotion! He was the dj, the bartender, the waiter, the runner.... I mean he did it all.. and with a smile. This place is definitely the bomb brunch spot and I will definitely be back. We stopped in for breakfast before we head to the airport. The staff was so sweet and amazing. The restaurant was half fall when we first got there but completely full including bar seats by the time we left. There were so many choices and we both ended up with BISCUITS AND GRAVY * Scratch made sausage country gravy - two biscuits - cheesy chive scrambled eggs - breakfast potatoes. Huge. Delicious. Wonderful experience overall.
When you're at San Diego Comic-Con, it's easy to get hungry, so like any Yelp Elite, when food is on my mind in a place I don't live, I Yelp. Werewolf was consistently at the top, and my last day at SDCC was spent alone, so I figure it would be easy to grab a table myself, and after a nice brisk walk out of the convention center, I made my way to Werewolf and was seated pretty quickly. The way you order was kinda weird. You get seated, and from there, you go up to the bar and make your order. After spending quite a bit over the weekend, I didn't go too crazy. Just got a burger and a cocktail. The burger though, unfortunately broke my faux paux of not staying together. When I un-toothpicked it, it immediately fell apart and became a fork and knife meal. It was fine, but I wouldn't say it was anything special. The fries were pretty standard, and the cocktail was actually the best part. I would've gotten another, but I had a pretty good weekend without the alcohol. If you need a place that isn't overly busy and gives you nice portions, this is it, but I didn't wow me or anything. read more

Perfect Runny Benedict alert! While the eggs look amazing, the potato bed is the true star. Each bite of egg, potato, and pork belly delivers a perfectly balanced blend of salty and sweet. Yes, it's a bit greasy, but undeniably delicious. The Chilaquiles, however, are not your typical Mexican fare--they resemble a tostada more than anything else. The Carne Asada, on the other hand, is outstanding--tender with a delightful charred flavor. My dishes arrived just as I was finishing my first drink, seems the kitchen was a bit busy that day. The restaurant has a very chill and casual vibe, with servers who clearly know how to dance. This would be a fun spot for bar hopping at night. read more

In the mood for a burger and what a good call! Love how the place is decorated with retro art, beer labels, etc. The place is nothing but good vibes. My friend had a triple threat burger with cheddar and sweet potato fries. I had the triple threat burger with Monterey Jack cheese and garlic fries. Along with a Manhattan and a neat double of whiskey. The food and drinks did not disappoint! Absolutely yummm! Last but not least, thank you Curtis for the outstanding service! My girlfriend and I were in town to see Trevor Noah and popped in on Thursday for a quick bite pre show. We came back Friday night and the place was jumping. We had a great time. We ordered some mix drinks then I had Coronas to finish the nite. The karaoke gal was great. She handled a full boat of singers and she was cool. My only suggestion is to make sure you specifically ask for doubles since the bartenders just poured and charged, but that's my only suggestion. A must visit! read more

Of course yelp reviews led me to his brunch spot that was within walking distance of the Gaslamp district! Limited menu but full flavors! I ordered the chicken fried steak and the biscuit, the meat, the gravy, the batter, the potatoes, the portion size!!! Oh my gosh talk about no complaints! Service was excellent, friendly and genuine as well! I really wish I could recall the servers name because she was so vibrant and bubbly and added to our experience. Got to visit this place today, it was on our bucket list of places to eat before the military moves us again! First off, it's the day after Christmas and this place was hoppin! DJ at the door, playing all kinds of awesome Latin beats that I love. We got sat right away and were greeted warmly by not one but two staff. The vibe in there is "who cares what day it is, welcome to the party" and it was amazing. 1. Bloody Mary, arguably the best I've ordered, ever. It had the perfect mix of spice, sea water, tomato and liquor. 2. Papa's Balls, now...papa's balls weren't quite as salty as I'd hoped, leaving the toasty potato mix a little dry for my preference. Also, the gravy on top could have had more flavor. I'm glad I ordered them but will order something different next time I go. 3. Triple threat burger, one tip..ask for more napkins! Pork belly, a fried egg and burger? Yes please. Too much for me to finish in one meal, I brought more than half home. 4. The fries. I'm not sure what is on them, but I can not get enough. They're perfect. I hope they never change. All in all, great experience and will be back, along with a hefty recommendation for anyone looking for a good burger! read more
I did not expect much since it seemed like a bar setting. Great service and surprisingly tasty food! I ordered from their brunch menu and thought the pork belly benedict was top tier! I've had Werewolf bookmarked to try for a while now. I finally got the chance to visit during comic con weekend and it was a great experience. I fully recommend Werewolf for brunch. FOOD The pork belly benedict was good and so was the breakfast burrito. See if they still have the Dole Whip machine. It makes a great treat but it might be temporary. DRINKS I enjoyed the drinks even more than the food. The Bloody Mary was excellent. The breakfast shots were tasty too. We were given complementary champagne while we waited for a table. It was pretty good and you can tell that it's popular. Literally every table had a bottle of the same champagne. SERVICE Taylor is awesome. Super cool and helped create the fun vibe. read more

I rarely ever find dinning experiences four star worthy, but based on the helpful reviews of fellow Yelpers, I tried Werewolf for brunch while visiting SD last weekend. We were warmly greeted by Fiona upon arrival and were quickly provided menus , water, and offer for beverages. Exactly what you'd want if you're starving for brunch. Fiona is the type of server all food establishments should want in their employees. She was warm, knowledgeable, helpful, engaging, funny.... It felt like we were visiting old friends. Food was amazing. Tried the chilaquiles and it was some of the best we have had, including those in Mexico. Biscuits and Gravy had all the texture and flavors to make you want more. Coffee was hot and delicious. Space was really open and airy, with high ceilings and breathes a feeling of nostalgia. Skip Morning Glory (terrible food - don't listen to the hype) and go to Werewolf instead. Thank you Fiona! read more
Is it time for brunch yet?! Because, I want that pork belly benedict aaaaallll in my belly!!! Give it to me! Gimme, gimme, gimme! Who knew that pork belly would taste so yummy in an eggs Benny?! Well, Werewolf knows how to do it right. Came here for one last brunch before heading back to the Bay Area, and Werewolf did not disappoint. Their restaurant is located in the bustling Gaslamp district and comes equipped with a cozy patio parklet. The parklet was completely full which was no surprise. They also have a decent amount of seating inside, but it's pretty tight in there as far as spacing goes. So of course, I found myself at the bar again (what's new?!). Service at the bar was pretty stellar. As soon as I sat my tushie down on that bar stool, Jenna made her way to my section with a menu and smiling eyes. A brunch cocktail was definitely in order, so I indulged in a Flying Dutch Mule which was Werewolf's neat little spin on a traditional Moscow Mule. It was served in a traditional tin mug and really packed a punch. Since I did some prior research before getting here, I already knew that I wanted the pork belly benedict! It's the Yelper in me. Plus, the reviews about this benedict sounded wonderful. They weren't lying. The pork belly benedict was really delicious. I have a love/hate relationship with pork belly as I've found that sometimes it can be overly fatty and chewy. This wasn't they at all. The pork belly was crispy like bacon on the edges but still thick and tender in the center. It was candied in maple glaze which gave it a nice sweetness and served over a bed of crispy potato cakes. That with the juiciness of the poached egg yolk made for a wonderful concoction. It was a match made, folks! My only complaint was that I wished that there was more of it. It seemed like it needed to come with something else, but it was still very tasty. Also, I found it kind of odd that it was served on a paper plate?! Nevertheless, the flavors were still amazing and it didn't take away from that. The vibes are super chill here. Great music in a very relaxing atmosphere. This is a hipsterish joint my total definition, but not disappointingly so. It's a really fun space and everyone seemed to be having a good time here. So amazing! Our group sat outside during a beautiful San Diego late afternoon. Our orders split between the brunch and night menu since we were there right before 3. Two eggs benedict, two triple threats, one pork belly nacho, one burger slider (for kids). Our plates came full and left empty. Everything was so delicious! I can only imagine the rest of the menu is superb. I recommend the eggs benedict with avocado. I didn't do this, but caramelized onions would be amazing on the nachos. The service was incredible! We were well tended to, the bartender and waiter were so friendly and sweet with my kids. The vibe inside is really fun. Good music, very gastropub decor. Overall, definitely a place we'd visit again next time we're in town! read more

We went during Comic-con with a party of four (Two adults, Two 14 year old boys). Getting in was easy since they took our phone number to text when the table was ready. 30 minute wait was closer to 20 minutes. It was around noon and they were serving brunch. Atmosphere was vibrant and fun. We ordered two bourbon cheeseburgers that came with fries, cakes and eggs, and pork belly benedict. All were delicious! Taylor was the server and he is excellent. One of the orders was misheard. Taylor fixed it immediately and we were able to enjoy an extra order of cinnamon roll pancakes...also delicious. Will definitely return. read more

Is it 18+ for karaoke hours?
They do have Karaoke on the weekends that are in the evening after 9pm with the Selling of alcohol that requires persons to be 21 or to be with their family.
Where is the easiest place to park?
Try to park as close as possible to the restaurant. Best parking will be with the closest paid parking lots and meter parking close to the restaurant.
Is this place kid friendly?
Yes, you can take a kid there, I would recommend breakfast or lunch though.

They have a waitlist and take reservations over 10 ppl. Call and ask them. They were very helpful for our party of 8.

I'm not saying this place is not celiac friendly, but I am saying, "damn! Your eating our choices/experience is greatly limited!!!" That's crazy man. Good luck. I have no idea if this place is your peoples friendly.

Is this establishment dog friendly?
Last time we visited, we sat at the bar (inside the restaurant) and there was a dog with the party seated next to us. So i assume yes!
