After living in our house for 5 years we decided that it was time to do an update to our boring dingy backyard. We always have parties and we utilize about 30% of our yard, which, after this last Halloween party, was bursting at the seams. I wanted a yard that flowed people trough our house to the back yard, instead of the usual come in and go thru the kitchen and straight to the concrete part (the 30%) of the back yard and pack in there, because the grass area (70%) was dead and dirt and gross and unusable. Begin the discussion. We NEED to do something, and quick. Ok, so let's do it...now, who? I was NOT looking forward to this part. Well, we frequent Ace Hardware on Spring and Palo Verde often and usually walk right past all the outdoor items, except this time the rack of artificial lawn caught our eye. We grabbed a card and went about our business. I googled and Yelped Werth's builders and I knew we found our team! 5 stars across the board, and THEY DO EVERYTHING! You don't know how happy that makes me. Not to have to manage a bunch of different companies, bliss! Also, to have a company with such happy customers at the end of everything, perfect! So I called and left a message. No response, for a few weeks...hum, that's weird. I called again, left a message and BAM I received a call back from Pete ASAP apologizing for the missed message - there was a phone number mishap - understandable. That was pleasant. The owner very hands on. We had a great talk and he understood everything that we wanted and even advised us on a few things. He even offered for us to stop by his house and take a look at their yard to get an idea of what we want. Who does that? So we finally made an appointment for Pete to come and check out the yard and start up a plan. It was like we knew each other our whole lives. We just knew this was going to be the right fit. He even talked us out of spending a few thousand dollars because "it just isn't necessary". That is very honest and I love that. So after a few days left to digest what we discussed we get a call from Linda (which let me tell you, she is a kick in the pants - I just adore her) to get a schedule to get things started. Pete came back out, we made the semi final plan (everything always changes and not everything can be set in stone when you are doing a massive backyard renovation like this) and then off we went. No muss, no fuss. I love that about a company. Very straight forward and knowledgeable and easy to work with. Next thing we knew we had a team in place and demo was starting. The team we got, Guierrmo, Rene, & Jesse, were fabulous! Very precise. Very knowledgeable. Very clean. Very polite. Very attentive and considerate to what we want, double and triple checking to make sure measurements were OK. If a situation arose where a potential issue could happen, we were made aware ASAP. These guys are just great! Such a pleasure to work with on a daily basis. Even if we had an issue or thought something wasn't right, they stopped and we discussed it and it was fixed or we were made aware of why that situation needed to be that way. I also really loved how Pete was very hands on and had such great communication throughout the whole project. There was never a time where we didn't know what was happening. It was really a breath of fresh air. Having worked in Customer Service for the past 15 years, I know how important having great CS is. It's always great when you work with a company where the customer is number one. Especially in a time where that is slipping away daily. BEWARE OF THIS GUY!!!! hired peter to build a pool and patio. he charged me a large down payment and subbed the work to another company after he told me he only used "his own guys", first lie. he told me the pool would be done in two months. the hole for the pool was dug and rebar started then he said he needed more money for concrete so I gave it to him. the next day the sub contractors called me to tell me they wont be doing any more work because peter didn't pay them. they could put a lien on my property. I called peter and was told it was none of my business when he paid his subs. after a week passed I asked what was going on, why is no one here working? peter told me permits and engineering was backed up two to three weeks and it would be that long before a new crew would be back. after 6 weeks with no workers I decided to find a new contractor and when I did the new one had engineering the same day! another lie. I went to the city and was told peter never pulled any permits for my project! another lie. the city could fine me for it. I told peter I was done with him and asked him to return the second payment since no work had been done after I paid him and he told me the money was spent. said to sue him and good luck!!! we work too hard for our money to be ripped off by a ruthless liar like him read more

Watch out for this company. Communication seems to be an issue. I had them to come out and quote a pool slide. I asked about my quote ahead of scheduling them to come out. When they came out they seemed like they were going to do the job, but afterwards it turns out that my job was too small for them or not in their ability. Make sure you ask ahead of time otherwise you will waste your time. It just seems like they only take larger jobs or something. It was not well communicated to me and I felt like they wasted my time. read more

PROJECT: Replacement Windows. Peter Werth and his team were very professional through the entire process. When I first contacted them to get a competitive estimate, they were responsive, professional and flexible with my schedule. Mr. Werth showed up on time for the free in-home estimate, listened to my vision and counseled me to go in a better direction. His consultation did NOT result in an up-sale. The price was the same. He also let me know up front that, pulling off some of the existing wooden frame like I originally intended could lead to additional costs if (when) they uncover any damaged wood. He recommended a solution that looked just as nice and saved me money. We walked the neighborhood and discussed what we did and didn't like about other windows in my tract. He helped guide me to choose the windows that look best for my house. Of the three bids I solicited, Mr. Werth was the only one who offered his professional opinion instead of just taking an order and writing down a price. The installation took two days and Mr. Werth was present with his crew when they started, gave them clear direction and checked back in on the project himself several times throughout the process. His crew was punctual, tidy and willing to work around our schedules. The quality and craftsmanship of the installation was excellent. When the project was completed, Mr. Werth walked around with me to inspect every window and he actually pointed out a few small imperfections that I hadn't seen and had them fixed immediately. His commitment to quality was very clear. I will definitely use Werth Builders for my future home improvement projects. They provided me with a quality product and service at a reasonable price and went the extra mile to ensure I was 100% satisfied. read more

We also have him redo our patio cover and stamp concrete. Originally, I wanted a different color and pattern for the pool and concrete. We wanted to do a complete rebuild of our backyard and pool. We had ideas of what we wanted. We interviewed 3 companies, including Peter. As soon as we met with Peter, we knew he was who we wanted for our work. He helped us make some changes to our plans and offered numerous small details to enhance our project. He was very hands on with our project, even though he had other projects going on. His crew was the best and constantly were checking with us on the plans and offering us on site suggestions for the project. I truly felt like they were handling our project as if it was their own home. There are many good outfits out there that do excellent work, but it is so important to consider the type of people you will be working with for the duration of your project. That is certainly what made our decision to move forward with Peter so easy, and if you read the other reviews, that seems to be the common sentiment. Peter and the all-star team that he put together were first class; they take pride in their work (sometimes hard to find today), work very cleanly, start a project to finish it (none of this here one day, gone for 4 days crap), were flexible in some changes as we went along not to mention some outstanding advice/suggestions, and just all around nice, good respectful people. We didn't always see eye to eye on some minor things, but I always appreciate solid honest feedback and someone willing to work with me to find resolution; openly, this only results in the best outcome. My Father and I were in need of an immediate pool contractor to help us with our non - working pool. I was having a party for my 6 year old baby girl and our pool went out . Every other pool Co . that had said they would fix it either could not or would not in time for our 65 people party . Then we found Werth Builders . Mr. Werth had replied to our request within minutes and was soon out to see what can be done . As it was found out the entire electrical was shot and the pumps would no longer function. Also the old plumbing was leaking and basically not functioning properly. I met with 5 different contractors and only received bids from 3 of them. One bid was exceptionally low, the other exceptionally high, and Werth Builders bid was right within the ballpark of what we expecting for the project's size. We put in a 600 sq. ft. patio (permitted) with lights and ceiling fans. We also laid down pavers and put drainage and cement on our side yard that used to be covered with weeds. Peter was great to work with. He was down to earth and approachable. We told him our vision and he made it happen. We didn't see any paper plans before they set to work and we were ok with that, but it did lead to a slightly bigger patio that we had originally planned for; still looked great. Peter responded to texts promptly and was able to accommodate our schedule. His crews were polite and showed up around 7am every morning when on site. Overall, solid experience. read more

His suggestions were always spot on and we couldn't be more thrilled with our backyard. Custom water features, fire pit, new plumbing, new electrical, new pool equipment, custom BBQ area, pagoda, modern code compliance, intricate stone work, and a fabulously efficient drainage system. We bought a new house with a big yard and started looking for pool contractors. We talked to many of them but none gave us the confidence Peter did. We had a small budget and big dreams! Peter assured us he could work within our budget to make our dream backyard a reality. From the planning to the actual work Peter and everyone in his company made us feel like family. We started our project back in November and due to the crazy rains we had a huge mud pit in the backyard.... Peter's guys came to drain the pool many times and had to get it ready for inspection (they put lots of hard work in it). I myself stayed home one day to meet up with the inspector and make sure everything was done right. To my surprise Peter was here too always checking on the work and sticking to timelines. Our project is 95% complete and we couldn't be happier! The crew always cleaned after themselves and had lots of patience with our dog. As I'm writing this review I am sitting in our new backyard resort. The journey from tired old backyard to beautiful oasis was a long but mostly positive road. Peter and his crew were always very professional. Every person that worked on our job was very skilled at their particular aspect of the job. All were polite and always cleaned up at the end of each work day. There were of course some unexpected delays along the way but they were all eventually handled to everyone's satisfaction. We used Werth Builders to redo our backyard, replacing a smaller attached wooden deck/patio cover with a larger detached one, extending our existing brick walkway, adding a flagstone patio with outdoor fireplace, seating wall and a spa, and couldn't be happier. We worked up a set of plans with an architect, and then tried shopping them around several contractors who wanted to talk us out of what we wanted done and replace it with something different, more extensive and expensive. Peter was the only one that appreciated what we were trying to do, to keep the woodsy look of our backyard and the need to tie in and match the existing brick walkway and front patio cover. We showed Peter a picture of the fireplace we wanted built and his workers did a great job in matching the detail, and the project came out as we envisioned it.
