Great little spot that definitely gets busy on the weekends. We had a gift card and a child free weekend so we decided to make the drive out to this spot. Prices are high but I mean that's just everywhere now. It's not a very big place but it's clean. My hubby got the traditional eggs Benedict $18.99 it came with fresh fruit and potatoes. It was really good but the potatoes could have used a little more time to crisp up more. I got the farmers Benedict $17.85 and it came with a choose of potatoes, they put scrambled egg on top instead of poached eggs and I asked if the could do the poached instead and they did for no extra charge . I was not in love with their biscuit flavor and texture wasn't it for me. I think for this area this a great local spot , if we are in the area or wanting to go for a drive I'd stop by again , but just maybe order something else.

Best biscuits and gravy I've had in the Central Valley. Food is absolutely amazing! Chicken fried steak is really good also! Service was excellent and the ambiance is casual with a country feeling! Come get some of my #1 voted biscuits and gravy!

Small town diner feel with friendly (though sometimes rushed) service. The menu has a wide range of options with diner favorites like chicken fried steak and fish and chips, to Mexican options (burritos, menudo and posole). The prices have gone up in recent years, but this restaurant provides large portions for the price. Some things can be hit or miss, on a recent visit my uncles chicken wings were cold in the middle and my dad's fish and chips were not served hot or crispy. However, the servers are very friendly and have no problem correcting issues that arise. The Chile verde nachos I ordered on my last visit were delicious and had a generous amount of toppings. Other favorites are the fried zucchini, southwest eggrolls, shrimp fettuccine alfredo and the chicken fried steak. Overall, a solid hometown spot to stop for a meal.

Great service. Greater food. Semi cramped seating. Loud ambience. But after a hike, the Chorizo burrito (4.5 out of 5), the chicken fried steak and eggs (5 out of 5), the fluffy biscuit (22 out of 10), and pancakes and eggs, we're all winners. Will DEFINITELY come back!

The food was absolutely fabulous, but what truly made the evening special was our waitress, Anne. Anne has a cheerful, professional personality that immediately made us feel welcome. She was attentive, friendly, and helped make our family celebration feel extra special. She checked on us throughout the meal, anticipated our needs, and always did so with a genuine smile. Celebrating a 92nd birthday is a memorable occasion, and Anne played a big part in making it such a joyful experience. Outstanding service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere--we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Thank you, Anne, and the entire Pismo's team for helping us create such a special memory for Grandma! Happy 91nd Birthday to Grandma! What a wonderful milestone to celebrate with family.

QUICK TAKE Get: Blackened Salmon Tacos Skip: Ultimate Combo Louie, Shrimp Cocktail, Grilled Alaskan Halibut Know: Several of the seafood dishes tasted dry or tired, and the meal did not feel worth the price. The only thing I would recommend is the Blackened Salmon Tacos. They come with fire-roasted salsa, avocado, cabbage-cilantro slaw, pico de gallo and lime crema. These had much better flavor, texture, and balance than the rest of our meal. Unfortunately, the other seafood was where things really fell apart. Ultimate Combo Louie: This comes loaded with jumbo prawns, shrimp and Dungeness crab, so at $38 I expected it to feel like a premium seafood salad. It didn't. The seafood lacked freshness and the shrimp in particular were soft and soggy. Shrimp Cocktail: Probably the most disappointing item. The shrimp tasted old and had a limp, waterlogged texture instead of being firm and fresh. Grilled Alaskan Halibut: At $42, this should have been one of the highlights. Instead, the fish was dry and overcooked, which is especially frustrating with a piece of halibut at this price. Hoisin Brussels Sprouts: Way too sweet for me. The sweetness completely overwhelmed the Brussels sprouts instead of complementing them.

The Molcajete was the standout dish of the night. It arrived sizzling hot and loaded with perfectly cooked meats, seafood, fresh vegetables, and a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together. It was hearty, flavorful, and easily one of the best Molcajetes I've had. The mussels were another favorite. Honestly, everything tasted like it came straight out of someone's mother's kitchen--in the best way possible. The food had that homemade, comforting quality that's hard to find these days. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that cozy, family-owned feel that makes you want to come back again.

As soon as we looked over the menu, my mouth was already watering. We ordered the aguachiles verdes, the molcajete supreme, and I added a side of fries. When I say the food came out fast, I mean FAST, especially for food this fresh. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and checked in just enough without being overbearing. The aguachile was honestly one of the best I've had. The green sauce was incredibly flavorful, perfectly balanced, and everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The molcajete supreme did not disappoint. The sauce was rich and delicious, and the portion of carne and shrimp was generous and very satisfying. You can tell care goes into the food here. And somehow, even the fries were amazing .... crispy, hot, and the perfect side. If you're passing through on your way to Yosemite, this place is absolutely worth the stop. We'll definitely be back.

And then…read morethere are places like Heirloom, where you realize the entire experience has been thoughtfully put together. We sat at the bar on a busy Thursday in Fresno, and honestly, I highly recommend doing the same. This is a quick-service-style restaurant where you can wait in line to order and then be seated, but snagging a seat at the bar gives you a completely different perspective on the experience. Aaron and Johnny were an absolute dream team. If you're there on a Wednesday or Thursday, look for these two. When they told us to "sit back and relax," they actually meant it. We didn't want for a thing. Water stayed full, we were consistently checked on without ever feeling hovered over, and their food recommendations were some of the best restaurant suggestions we've had in a while. And that last part is important... the suggestions weren't just upsells, but instead they were thoughtful and intentional recommendations that genuinely complemented what we were ordering. You could tell they weren't just trying to add another item to the ticket but were really were trying to make our meal better. That kind of service is becoming very rare, especially in a quick-service setting. Meanwhile, the restaurant itself had that great something's happening here energy. Busy, lively, people coming and going, the bar buzzy. This is exactly the kind of place you want to stumble into on a Thursday night in Fresno. Heirloom gets balance. It is casual enough to feel approachable, but intentional enough that you leave feeling like someone actually cared about your experience. And with Aaron and Johnny behind the bar? Sit back. Relax. Let them take it from there. (Side note, I believe it is Johnny but might be John, I know for sure if you are manager of this place you know who I am talking about!)

Honest Review The…read morefood was honestly pretty mid. The pasta tasted mid and was a little disgusting, and it didn't really have much flavor. The burger was okay but definitely overcooked and not very juicy. It was missing some flavor. The garlic fries were probably the best thing we ordered. The hibiscus lemonade was decent, and the mocktail we got was actually really good. As for the service, some of the staff were really nice and welcoming, but I did feel a little uncomfortable toward the end. When I asked if I could pay with cash instead of card, I got the impression that the person seating us assumed I was going to leave a tip and seemed disappointed when I clarified that I was just paying cash. I also felt like some of the servers were giving us an attitude afterward because we didn't tip. Overall, tipping is a personal choice, and I don't think customers should feel judged or pressured because of it. Some of the staff were genuinely kind, but unfortunately the food and the experience weren't enough for me to want to come back.
