I came home last month after being in Europe for 3 months, and my bachelor brother hadnt touched a single bottle of clorox or any type of cleaning tool for the whooole time i was gone. So, my roommates and I started living together in June of 2011. We decided we were going to get a house cleaner/maid service every two months throughout the term of our lease together. I hired two maids to clean my apartment literally minutes after the movers finished loading up my things. Both maids arrived early, after the office staff checked with me to make sure that it was OK. My friend turned me on to West Coast Maids a few months ago & my house has been clean & spotless ever since. I have a long hair dog, which I love, but sheds like crazy all over the house. Downstairs on the wood floors, upstairs on the carpet, in the kitchen...man it gets everywhere. Plus whenever my dog shakes off the dander & hair gets all over the place & settles on the furniture. I called up West Coast Maids for a free over the phone estimate which sounded good to me but I had to call around to a few different places still to compare, & yep, they still had the best price plus the added benefit of being referred. They came the first time to clean & by the time they left the whole has looked in perfect, pet hair free condition without a trace of dust or pet dander anywhere. I was so impressed with the service I got the first time that I now have a weekly visit from the maids to keep the house in a spotless almost brand new looking condition. Having a credit card on file with them for billing also just makes things so much easier. No more non pet owning friends complaining about hair on their socks or jeans anymore & even a couple friends are looking to also use the service to help clean up after their kids mess, which is a much bigger job than my dog hair issue. DO NOT USE WEST COAST MAIDS! I made an appointment with them to do a move-out cleaning at my apartment on Saturday 3/31/12. They gave me the ever so awesome window of time that they will show up between 1:30 and 3:30pm. They, like many other businesses, are not able to figure out how to schedule appointments. I showed up to my empty apartment a little before 1:30 and waited...and waited...and waited. Come 3:30pm no one had arrived and I was told I would be called before they arrived. So I called the main West Coast Maids phone line. Uh-oh, office closed! And no number to call for weekend service. So I leave a message saying that I'm still waiting. I wait another half-hour and at 4:00pm having spent the entire afternoon waiting at my empty apartment I leave another message saying that I'm leaving and that no one showed up. I then had to explain this situation to my old landlord and figure out how to handle the final cleaning. Today (Monday) I get a call from West Coast Maids saying there was a "mix-up" with my orders which included no one calling me to let me know. West Coast Maids is a referral service and clearly does not know how to run a business. When you have a service that runs on the weekends you need to be available on the weekends. I would STRONGLY recommend not using this service. Call a housekeeping service directly, avoid these referral services. read more

I had requested maid service for a small balcony patio that was converted into a room only. I was quoted $75-90 and was told one person would be coming. A lady showed up with, what looked like to be, her young teenage daughter. I was very satisfied on the cleaning as they did a good job in a little over 2 hours. I received a charge about a week later for $75, which I thought was fair. A little over a week later I received an additional charge for $45. When I called to ask why I was told because there were two maids and I am being charged for the time between both people. I ended up paying $120. I wouldn't have minded if I was quoted this upfront and it was one charge. I am only giving 2 stars because I do not think this extra charge was appropriate and charged without an explanation. read more

Not really impressed with their work. I've had some work done to my house and hired West Coast Maids to clean the place. The day before West Coast Maids were to come, the contractor had hired another cleaner to clean the place so a lot of the dust was gone, but I didn't cancel WC Maids since it didn't look as clean as I wanted. When I got home the next day after WC Maids came, the place didn't look that much cleaner. It looked like they hardly cleaned my wood floor. There were spots at places. I was expecting the floor to shine. The windows were clean, but they were pretty clean before they got there. I paid for 4.5 hours of cleaning, but I think they spent 2 hrs max. read more

I wish I had an option for no stars! I was having guests over on Memorial Day. We have several small dogs and the house was a little hairy and dirty so I called and made an appointment for a one time clean. They assured me that a Saturday visit was not a problem and someone would be there between 8:00 and 10:00 that morning. Nobody ever showed. I didn't get a phone call, and when I called the office they were closed until Tuesday. They have no number you can call in case of situations like this. I left a message saying that the maids didn't show. No one ever even called me back to offer an apology or explanation. I'm a pet sitter so I was super busy that weekend and had no time to clean. The best clean we got was the first one they did, but charged us way above the cost they initially quoted us. Their services continued to decline each time they cleaned our house. The final straw was that the person cleaning our house conveniently skipped over two bathrooms and then did not reset the lockbox code after returning our keys. Anyone at anytime could have opened the lockbox, waltzed into our house while we were at work and taken anything they wanted from our house. Once I noticed this I immediately called the company to complain and cancelled all future services. They promised me a 50% refund on the charge for the last cleaning. Apparently the person who made these promises never noted my profile as one month later I am still waiting on that 50% credit and was forced to dispute the charges with my credit card company. Making things even worse is that I just received a call from WC Maids saying that the person was at my house to clean but the lockbox was not working, THANK GOODNESS I WAS SMART ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE CODE! UPDATE ON THE SITUATION.. I increased the star rating to three stars (from one) because following the above post, the company went above and beyond attempting to rectify the mistake that had occurred. They went out of their way to apologize, take responsibility and made genuine offers to make sure I understood how serious they were about their error. It showed me that they take pride in their company and how the services they provide. While I still will not use their services, I do give their management credit for their pride and belief in their team and their efforts. read more

My regular housekeeper was on vacation and upon seeing their ad I decided to call and schedule one of their "maids" to clean my 2 bedroom apartment. The scheduling part was easy and it was downhill from there. In short : The "maid" who showed up didn't speak english, stayed 3 hours more than I was quoted on, damaged my hardwood floor and tried to renegotiate the agency's rate. In the end my place was anything but clean, I am left with $2000 worth of damage and my digital camera is missing... of course she doesn't remember seeing it. I would not recommend this company and that is mainly because they send different cleaners to my house each week, and I caught several of them in the middle of sweeping up toys and other items onto the dustpan and putting it in the trash. I have been using West Coast Maids for over a year. I scheduled a monthly cleaning and have had little to complain about. I have a big home and it's a lot to clean but the person they assigned to my home, Gloria, usually did a wonderful job. I'm taking a star off because although their site claims the maids use their own products, I noticed I was running out of cleaning supplies much faster than I should have. Also the cleanings were sometimes inconsistent. From the beginning I instructed Gloria on which rooms to clean first and what I wanted done. She was fantastic I'd say about 90% of the time (which is why I deducted the star). The staff are always polite and friendly when I call or email. If I needed to change a cleaning day or if they needed to substitute a cleaner they always reached out and we worked out a solution in no time. I'm always surprised at how fast/good the customer service is. I truly believe they do actually care about their customers and making sure they are satisfied with their service. Like I said, my only real problem was the usage of my cleaning supplies and the sporadic inconsistency in the cleanings. For the most part, my 3 bedroom home was always clean after they came. I've recommended them to many a friend and family members who have inquired about cleaning services. read more

Make sure you clean your house first because these ladies take their time with cleaning. The three stars is for the excellent job they did arranging cluttered spaces (kitchen cabinets and such). As far as cleaning goes, they are okay. The company is very fair. I had a few problems with the service as far as the maids were an hour and a half late, their vacuum cleaner did not work, they did not finish (even though they said they would in two hours time) and they forgot to reattach the burners to my electric stove. Because of these issues I received a slight discount on the services. hired WCM to clean my apartment before I moved because I wanted to get my full security deposit back but didn't want to spend hours and hours cleaning the place- especially since I knew I wouldn't be able to do half as good of a job. I was right! WCM is fantastic! I potty trained by dog in this apartment so the rug in the bedroom was full of stains. I had WCM do a deep carpet clean and it was worth every penny. They made the carpet look as good as new. The place was spotless and they literally saved me over $1,000 because I got my security deposit back from my landlord in full! I hired WCM to perform monthly cleanings at my grandparents house and so far they have been great. There have been a few issues that arose, but as soon as I contacted them about it, they corrected it right away. Their customer service is excellent and my grandparents have been very pleased with the maids. Of all the maids that have gone over, there was only one they weren't pleased with. I contacted customer service and they took care of the issue. I used to work in customer service so I understand how difficult it can be trying to please so many different personalities.
