Found this company on Yelp and set up an appointment for the NEXT DAY with Mariam. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo (approximately 1,200 square feet) and I regularly clean our place. However, we really needed a deep cleaning for the areas I can't / don't want to clean. Mariam was scheduled to come between 8 and 10 am and showed up on time at 8:45 am. I was already impressed since most of the other maid services we've used always show up late. Mariam was super sweet and very good at her job. She also spoke English very well which made it easy to communicate. She did the deep cleaning that I wanted. She cleaned both of the bathrooms to the point where they were really spotless (got rust off the shower, shined the chrome hardware, etc.) and the kitchen. She also cleaned all of our hardwood floors. She moved our furniture on her own, removed our rugs, and cleaned UNDER them too (She's a tiny gal so not sure how she did that!!). I only have one complaint. The maid had run the dishwasher with just six or seven dishes inside. Given that we are in a serious drought, I thought this was a huge waste of water. Even if we weren't in a drought, I would not have run the dishwasher. The total cost for our services was about $112.50 (without tip). She was here for a total of 4.5 hours. We received a special rate of $25/hour per maid because we scheduled on an off-date (Mon - Weds). They charge on 15 minute increments which is nice. I've made four phone calls to this business, where I was able to speak to someone twice, but over three weeks I STILL have not been able to even schedule service. The first time I called, no call back. The second time I called, I thought it pretty strange that when I called to schedule service the representative stated, "Someone will call you within 48 hours to schedule." Really? Why are you answering the phone during business hours if you don't have the company scheduling calendar? The second time (a week later) I called, she questioned me re my accusation of not being called back (strike three, already) and promised to call back within the hour. Two days later, I am still leaving messages on the answering machine--during business hours. So, months later (prior paragraph from May, update from August), it seems that they've hired a new receptionist service. Efficient. They'd already struck out with me, so my Mom decided to use them. I went over her house three days after them having done the kitchen and bathrooms to see the work. First, my Mom was disconcerted because the maid brought her son with her to work in her home. : O! So that limited service right there to an area where she could "keep watch." But again, three days later, I come to spot check and find dusty countertops and spotty mirrors in the bathrooms and unattended counters in the kitchen. What kind of clean up job was that? Whenever I need cleaning done in the LA area, I always call West Coast Maids. They are efficient, punctual, thorough, and friendly. I am a real estate agent and always need rentals cleaned after a tenant moves out and before a new tenant moves in; so I have a lot of experience with house cleaners. Before I called them, I researched them on yelp and on the internet. From my research, I could only find positive reviews about their service. I hired them to clean a 1/1 apartment. I'm in college so it was only a matter of time before my apartment was completely filthy and trashed. My roommates and I were way too busy with school and what not to have time to clean up all the mess we had made, so we needed to get someone to clean our place thoroughly and for low cost. This is where West Coast Maids comes in. My roommate found this place when he stumbling on the internet, and boy I am extremely happy that he did. Our place was a pig sty and this is exactly what we needed for our place. First off they did an amazing job at cleaning our entire place, it looked like a totally different apartment when they were done. Our floors were spotless, as well as our counter tops, cabinets, tables, windows, and doors (don't ask how the doors got dirty). The one maid that we got did an outstanding job, I could not have asked for more from a cleaning service. Secondly they now clean carpets so our carpets were completely cleaned from all the beer stains and dirt stains that have accumulated over the year of living here. My parents work 6 days a week since they are small business owners and the last time I went over, I noticed that the house wasn't as tidy as my mom normally keeps it. It must be that they are now much older than I would care to admit and are more tired. I decided to find a cleaning company to help make the house sparkle for them again. I asked friends through facebook if anyone had a recommendation and I was told to look at West Coast Maids. The reviews were positive on different websites that I checked, so I called and placed an order. They arrived 5 minutes earlier than the expected time and were extremely courteous. The woman who came was professional in her attitude and a professional at her job. She did such an amazing job taking care of my parents rather large two story, and now empty home. From the top of the ceiling fans, to the french wooden doors she made the house look like a model home. I didn't stay to see my parents arrival, but the phone call from my mom in tears thanking me for cleaning her home was all that I needed to hear to know that this company did a great deed for my family. My mom now wants to have them come clean at least once a month to make the burden less heavy on her, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to see their home look like something out of a magazine. I'm not sure of what went on with this company. Used them before COVID, and they were reliable, but now the cleaning is substandard. Last week, the maid did not show, no return calls, and nobody is answering the phone. I am hoping they don't continue to charge my card since I can't get in touch with anyone to stop the service. I enjoyed West Coast Maids service! They were on time, very friendly and extremely efficient. They were super nice, like chatting with one of my aunts :) I kinda wish they hung around after just to chat haha The only thing i wish they they had was better equipment. We had moved into a brand new construction. There was over 1400 square feet of hardwood floor that was extremely dirty. After calling and confirming that they only used mops for the floor, I decided on hiring Stanley Steemer for the floors. Other than that - they CRUSHED all 4 bathrooms! Toilet rings - gone. Spotless countertops and mirrors. Even reorganized our stuff to look nice Windows throughout the home were streak free. They literally spotted each other from both sides of the mirror to make sure there weren't any streaks. Awesome service! read more

As I often do, I purchased a Livingsocial voucher for 2hrs of deep cleaning service by West Coast Maids. I left a message to schedule an appointment and received a call back a couple of days later. The girl on the phone was nice, albeit a bit pushy about getting me to sign up for regular cleaning at a reduced price, which of course was ONLY available to me if I signed up at that time. She requested my credit card information and quickly began to tell me that if the "deep cleaning" took longer than 2hrs, I would have to pay additional, but at some reduced rate (amount I can't recall). I didn't like being pushed into the whole thing, but that girl was quick and smooth and I almost got suckered! What I caught and helped me back off the up-sell was the fact that there is NO way that my 655 square feet was going to take two hours. She kept stressing that it was a "deep clean" and I kept stressing that a) I'm not that dirty and b) even still, it would NOT take longer than 2hrs. I pushed back and told her that if the rep stayed longer than 2hrs, I would not be paying extra. The woman arrived early which was great, she was nice and I brought her up and showed her around my measly three room home (that's one big living area, a bathroom and my bedroom). I went on my way to a pilates class and returned spot on two hours later. I quickly skimmed the place as she was rushing out the door and gave her a small tip. Once she was gone I took a closer look around. That woman DID NOT do a "deep clean" at all. My ceiling fans still have dust all over them. My base boards have not been cleaned at all and my shower/bathtub look terrible. It honestly doesn't even look like it was cleaned. Please stay away from this cleaning service and DO NOT give them a credit or debit card. They will mislead you into an agreed upon amount for monthly or bi-monthly payment and then raise it without your knowledge. I don't check my statement religiously, and foolishly thought I was being charged the agreed upon price. Was looking for another dollar amount in my account and saw their charges. I'm going to have to cancel my card. NOTE: If THEY have to ask YOU for payment, YOU control what they can charge. From the beginning there were problems with the office. They make up policy as they go. Very unprofessional. Promise 2 girls and after the first visit only one comes, the time gets screwed up, etc., etc... The cleaners, however, were nice and easy to work with. There is no SERIOUS cleaning here. If you want things moved and cleaned behind them, you're going to have to supervise and request. I AM very easy to work with and generous. But, as it turns out, I was paying way more than I anticipated. I tipped the girls as I thought they weren't making much, (quite sure this is still true), and learned that some of them clean 3 houses in one day. I can only say that you do not want to be the third house on the list. There are lots of maid services out there. Since our first cleaning, the subsequent visits have progressively gotten less satisfying. We have bi-weekly visits that used to leave the house feeling clean up until the next visit, but lately it has gotten to the point where I can hardly tell anyone was there and it feels like it's back to dirty within a day or two. There are surfaces that haven't been dusted in weeks. I plan to discontinue service and find a new one. Beware: this company solicits customers to give 5 star reviews after their first visit because they know that's when they have put their best foot forward. Disclaimer: I've used their services for the past YEAR AND A HALF so not a one time thing. (Over 13 visits if you're keeping track) About the maids: They are friendly, helpful, and (given that I speak spanish) can get the job done and can give directions and we can all understand each other perfectly. Work is good when I ask them to do something in particular (vacuum this spot, or please throw away this). Having said that, scheduling is a big issue. My service is scheduled for once a month, the second saturday morning of every month and it's always been wishy-washy, I've had no-shows and maids calling me at noon saying 'we'll be there soon' and not show up until 1-2PM. Of course, this is unacceptable when you're scheduled for mornings and it completely throws off your WHOLE saturday (think of waiting for a cable guy, it's annoying). Then the maids and number of maids is not reliable; I've had one maid sometimes, or two some other times, I don't have a big place (900 sqfeet) so whether it's one or two I don't really care given that I've already set aside sat mornings for cleaning. Finally, there's no 'emergency' number, they work monday-friday and that's it, you call you leave a message over the weekends; there's nobody 'on duty' or for 'emergencies'. I'd honestly give 2 and a half stars, but the times I've gotten service have been good it's the scheduling that's a total pain. EDIT: WCM reached out to me and set everything straight, they offered service almost right away and we resumed the monthly service taking full responsibility and apologizing profusely; hence my change of stars. Recommendation: Make sure your service is on a weekday, they have staffing during the weekdays to cover any issues. I still wish they had some emergency number through the weekends, but so far, I'm good with the service and resolution. read more

I had this company come clean my condo once. The cleaning was well done, the maid showed up on time and was polite. My issue with this company happened later, when I was billed. I was quoted $25/hr for the first cleaning. The maid came and cleaned and was here for approximately 2.5 hours. I was then charged $80. I called the office to try to correct this billing mistake, and after speaking with a manager, was told they would be charging me $70, because they have a $70 minimum cleaning charge. This $70 minimum was never mentioned to me in the emailed quote, or when I called the office to schedule the cleaning. I was only told it would be $25/hr. After telling them this on the phone, I spoke with a manager who said she would check with her boss. Granted this is less than $8 that I feel I've been over charged, which is not a lot. But I feel it's bad business practice to not inform your customer about a minimum cleaning fee. After telling this manager that I wanted to cancel my future appointments, she quickly said okay and ended the call. I am still unsure if they are going to correct my charge from $80 to $70 or if will be the $62.50 I believe I should be charged. They required a credit card, so my credit card has already been charged the full $80. Due to these billing issues, I will not be a repeat customer with this cleaning service. The correct thing for them to have done would be to charge me the $62 for the cleaning I had, and tell me for all future cleanings, the $70 minimum will be in effect. The poor customer service and billing mistakes in the office has lost my future business. read more

I bought the Living Social deal for West Coast Maids. I had used a private maid via Craigslist and I was so disappointed. I mean, I get it that you do need to CLEAN before a maid gets there, because they aren't going to do everything for you etc. but I live in a one bedroom 600 square foot apartment and this lady never even "got" to the floors. So, I bought the Living Social deal thinking that I would give West Coast Maids a try to see what they had to offer. It seemed to me after checking out their website that they are more of a "placement service" for maids that work independently through out the area. When I called to book, the girl was really friendly on the phone...so it kind of surprised me to see some of these reviews which is why I felt compelled to write this today! I am assuming that after giving the Living Social deal that West Coast Maids got SUPER busy and had a hard time keeping up. Listen, I understand and I still support local business. She was nothing but super nice to me on the phone and booked my appointment. Granted, it was for a time away, as the appointments were going fast, but for $30, who was I to complain? That deal is INSANE. Anyway, there was no time where I was upsold. My husband was at home when the maid came, so I didn't get to meet her, but I did get to see her work. She did all of the basics, including mirrors, sinks, toilet, floors, carpets, dusting. I didn't expect her to do any of the deep cleaning as that is usually much more expensive. The tile in my bathroom and the faucets were shining, which is a huge factor in how I judge a maid, and my floors were clean which was my number one issue. All in all, my experience with West Coast Maids was great and I will definitely call them again when the need arises. read more

At first, we had a great experience with a lady (Esperanza) who came to clean our house through this company. For the first month, she did an amazing job cleaning our home and went the extra mile in making sure everything clean. Then, she went on vacation for 6 weeks, and it was all downhill from there. In the past 6 weeks, we've had different people come clean our home each time and they were not pleasant, did a HORRIBLE job cleaning everything (very half-heartedly), and even ASKED us for a tip. We tipped Esperanza $20 every weekend she came because she deserved it, worked really hard and it showed in how great our home looked. The other people who came through to clean our home did not, so we only tipped them $10. I thought it was incredibly RUDE to ask for a tip, having been in the service industry myself for 10 years. On top of that, for $70 and an hour and a half of cleaning, I didn't think the job they did warranted us paying anything extra. It's not my fault that the company only pays them half of the $70 for their work. Do a great job, and I have no problem tipping you. The office is NOT customer-service oriented. First they charged us $85 when we'd agreed to $70, and it took them 3 weeks to finally get back to us and take the extra money off our next visit. The final straw for us was when a woman came to clean our home, stayed for One hour and 10 minutes, didn't say a word to us and left without us knowing. We paid for 2 1/2 hours of service, and didn't get it. When we contacted the company to tell them this, they said it "is not the company's policy" to charge a card less than $70, which I know is BS because they did it for us when they over-charged us the first time. We explained to the woman that we will gladly pay for the 1 hour and 10 minutes worth of service, because we did get that much, but nothing more. She never responded, so we have filed a claim with our credit card company on principle alone, since they apparently pay no attention to customer service. My advice? Go elsewhere. I gave them 2 stars only because of Esperanza. ************Update**************** Just after posting this review, the office manager Steve contacted me and offered to help resolve our issue. He was very prompt in all of his responses and offered to reimburse us for one full cleaning for the hassle. That's the kind of customer service my husband and I appreciate. I have been with West Coast Maids for over a year and have had decent albeit sometimes inconsistent service. The staff at WCM have always tried to remedy any issues I've had and typically go above and beyond to appease their customers. It is very easy to get ahold of WCM by phone or by email and I never have to wait more than a few minutes to get a response which is a rarity in today's world. My only real problem was scheduled appointments that were sometimes forgotten but were always rectified by the next day and a few cleanings where some minor things were missed. Overall, my 1-bedroom was always clean after WCM stopped by and their service team is polite, respectful and eager to please. read more

After cleaning my house/apartment myself for the past 10 years of my life, it wasn't until a buddy referred me to West Coast Maids that I realized that I was doing a mediocre job. One quick call to go over a checklist and the appointment was made. I was home when they arrived at the scheduled time and they were very professional. Plus, they bought their own cleaning products. From my understanding, they can also come to your place when you're not home and I would trust them to do so moving forward. My checklist was fairly simple (living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom) and they did a great job. For some reason, when I dust my electronics, they stay clean for about 48 hours before the dust comes back. But so far it's been over a week and there is still a nice shine to my TV, speakers and bookshelf. My kitchen was cleaned from top to bottom (including inside the microwave!) and they opened up my gas range and cleaned out the debris/crumbs that had fallen through. But if there is one area where West Coast Maids really made a difference, it was my bathroom. I have a stand-up shower that despite my best effort to keep it clean, gets tons of water spots on the sliding glass doors. It only took them about 30 minutes to clean the tiles, toilet, sink, counter, tub and most importantly, make the glass sliders look new. Finally, they vacumed, took out the trash and were out of there in about 2 hours. I paid in cash and tipped each maid individually. Bottom line, if you're a relatively clean person, one visit from West Coast Maids will go a long way. I really wish I would have read the reviews here before hiring WCM. I experienced similar issues and nothing was done to rectify the situation. Just as a previous reviewer stated, they said they would call me back after I called them several times complaining and they never did! I hired them to do a move out deep cleaning on my rental property. I cleaned the place on a move out before, but this time I was trying to save myself time. There was no furntiure or anything in the place, it was completely empty. After the maid showed up late, I let her in and pointed out areas of concern. I left and told her to call me with any issues. I went back by the place the next day and it was completely unfinished!! The place is less than 500sq ft. The balcony didn't need cleaning and the bedroom only needed the baseboards wiped down, so were talking about maybe 300 sq ft that needed to be cleaned. -Walls and baseboards were still filthy (I pointed out the areas that needed attention) -back splash had oil stains -the fridge had a sticky stain on the bottom shelf. -there was a plastic bag on one side of the fridge and a dog bone on the other(I specifically asked for this to be cleaned) -kitchen floor had dried paper, debris and stains on it -laundry closet was not cleaned at all -toilet was filthy, outside and inside. I lifted the lid and there was random pee stains and debris all around. -bath tub was not clean, ring around the tub and stains at the bottom. -bathroom floor was dirty I wound up cleaning the place myself, so dealing with WCM, not only wasted my money, but also my time! I spoke with the manager several times trying to rectify the situation and get some answers as to why my place was left in that condition. The manager said she would cll me back on 2 occasions and never did. Now, I see that my account has been charged for 3.5 hrs of cleaning!! Do yourself a favor and hire someone else! read more

I'm always weary when inviting strangers into my house, let alone some one that I was asking to clean up after me and my two roommates. I've even thought of hiring a family friend who does this for a living, but I figured it would be even more awkward. I found West Coast Maids through Yelp & figured they have a high rating, I'll give them a try. I received a fair estimate for the 2 bathrooms I wanted cleaned, plus routine dusting/cleaning in the bedrooms and living room. I'm usually the one home while she does her job, but there's no miscommunication or interruptions as she does it. I am a very very busy person and I am hardly ever home. I never thought that my schedule would be so hectic to the point that I would actually use a maid service to do what I usually can. BUT I AM SO GLAD I DID! West Coast Maids definitely not only does the job, they do it way better than myself! They give excellent attention to detail. Example, the bottom area of my vases were actually dust-free which means they took the time to make sure every nook and cranny was cleaned. The dishes on my sink were spotless. I remember the maid service I used before they never did the dishes, they just stacked them on the sink and pre-rinsed them. I know right?1 West Coast Maids really have done an outstanding job. My parents live in Long Beach and regularly use West Coast Maids. I used to clean for my mom when I was a kid and let me tell you - she is anal when it comes to cleaning (she has gone through many cleaners). If West Coast Maids can meet my mother's standards, they must be amazing! I was able to see their work in action this past weekend. They were friendly, professional, punctual, non-intrusive and most importantly thorough (ie. under, in and around the toilet bowl, cleaned mildew from the shower, etc). As an eco-buff I asked them to use my eco-friendly cleaning supplies, which some will not do, and it was no problem. We actually had a nice conversation about the eco-friendly cleaning products and the staff seemed excited to bring my suggestions to their management. They worked quickly, quietly and my place felt fresh when they left. Lastly, they are locally owned and operated, which is the type business I aim to support. I have to say as a newlywed I like to have things done in a particular way. At times I even find cleaning to be a relaxing task. However I took the leap and am very impressed with West Coast Maids. They were able to clean my home quickly and I found them extremely pleasant and professional. The last time I hired maids the company asked to use my vacuum, however West Coast Maids were completely prepared with all of their supplies as well as equipment. Wow, I'm looking through the reviews, and it's pretty clear to me that you either love'em or you don't!! In my case, they left my house sparkling! I don't usually use maid service, but after having them clean my home after my hubby's bday get together and another family party afterwards (double trouble) I think it may be a luxury I'll have to get used to. They left the counters immaculate, the sinks shone... they even wiped down the stove area, which is my mortal enemy and one big reason I dislike cooking! There are many subtle differences to compare between the before/after... but I just walk in to my home with a welcoming feeling... and feel the joy of simply being home. Some friends of mine had a place out there and would have weekly parties that would rival some frat houses. This was surprising since their house was impeccable. When I mentioned it as a compliment, they told me that they pitch in and have West Coast Maids visit once a week, and that they do a phenomenal job. Having seen the place as a disaster, and seen it days later after it had been cleaned, the difference was night and day. Before this, I would never have considered such a service, but having seen the level of quality myself, I would definitely keep this in mind. Currently, my home is only me and my wife and is relatively easy to manage, but for anyone who has multiple roommates, kids, pets, or a larger family, this would be a phenomenal deal. Additionally, they obviously make an effort to make the process easy. For example, you can call and get a free estimate. West Coast Maids is hands down 10 times better than any other cleaning company I've used, and here's why. To start with, they actually listen to you. I don't like harsh chemicals, and they'll use the products I provide. If I want specific areas of my apartment tended to in a certain way, like getting cat hair off certain chairs, they'll do that too. When one very ambitious cleaner left without getting all the grime off the walls, she apologized and said she'd do more next time. Amazing. Speaking of communication, that part is...probably my favorite. The maids are always available - when I've had complaints, they've answered. When I've needed to get ahold of them due to issues with appointments, they've been there. They are very trustworthy and people that I trust to clean my apartment. Unlike old companies, they won't come in, wreak havoc, scare the cats, and surface clean. I decided to give West Coast Maids a try after my mother was put on strict bed rest. I tried to keep up the house while also juggling a job and college but it was not working out well. Good cleaning service. I have used them a few times. I like the fact that when I call I can speak to a live person most times and if I leave message they call back. I've used them for regular house keep and move out cleaning. The regular house keeping was usually very good. I was never home when they came but the maids were good to leave receive and leave keys in designated area. Wow, why have I never used a cleaning maid service before?!? After calling West Coast Maids this is the question I find myself asking! So I've become super busy with life and realized my poor house was suffering. Ok, I'll be honest it was getting a little scary. Yikes! After careful contemplation, a co-worker of mine suggested West Coast Maids after finding them (and using them) herself on Yelp. I'm so glad I took her advice....they were total pros! They gave me a very convenient appointment, got to my house on time and were in and out without getting in my way! I hardly noticed they were even there. Getting a 5 Star rating out of me is tough as it is but even tougher since I went kicking and screaming all the way against even hiring a maid in the first place LOL. I barely like my boyfriend touching my things let alone anyone else! But we are very busy and logically it had to be done. Of course i did tons of research, calling around etc but West Coast Maids was the only one I didn't get any real bad feedback from surprisingly and even more surprisingly I ended up really like the Staff even more. Totally professional,on time(which is a big big thing to me), no issues with quotes or anything on top of actually doing an awesome job no less. I guess all the huffing and puffing i did was for nothing in the end lol. I'm very pleased with the final results from West Coast Maids. My home is clean my kitchen is nice and my family room is organized. I was disappointed in the late arrival and a few details that I had to point out but in total I am very pleased with the service provided and definitely will use them again when I need a break to enjoy Hunp Day, which I don't very often. West Coast Maids is the only cleaning service I've ever used. I was moving out of one large house in Redondo and was pressed for time, so I asked them to come clean instead of doing it myself. I was very glad I did. Two very professional ladies arrived on time with all the equipment and products needed to clean a two story 3 bedroom house already ransacked by a year of dog accidents and cats shedding. I was very amused when I saw one of them wearing a vacuum cleaner on her back to reach the ceiling fans. I know I wouldn't have done that! I have a very high standard when it comes to a clean house and try to keep it nice. But with 2 male Roomates and busy days, the list of to-do's kept stacking up until It felt out of control. My Roomate suggested we hire West Coast maids and I couldn't be more pleased with the before and after! They are prepared, professional and left my home sparkling! We've used West Coast maids for almost a year now and recently went from once a month to twice since I started an MBA program. I didn't want to spend my precious spare time cleaning. So this is NOT a review of a first-time or one-time cleaning. I'll start off saying that I never wanted to use a cleaning service and I used to hire individuals to clean once a month. It turned out to be inconsistent, you never knew when they would show up and the cleaning would deteriorate over time. We decided to give West Coast Maids a try and we couldn't be happier. They show up when they are supposed to, our condo is always spotless and smells clean and fresh, the prices are reasonable, they are quick and efficient, and when we can't be there, they always lock the door and don't let our cats out. When we have to reschedule, they accommodate us easily, as long as it's less than 24 hours notice. Also, once our couch throws weren't folded up and put back on the couch so i mentioned that on the feedback form and it has never been an issue since. So they do look at the feedback and make changes. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for one-time cleaning or a regular service. I love coming home to a clean house! read more
