I've been visiting this area for several months for business. I always look for a place where the locals go since that means it's top notch. West End Grill does not disappoint. They are known for their wings, but the menu is abundant and most of all delicious! I've tried salmon, pasta, sandwiches and salads and always return! Needed a spot to hit up for the Superbowl and had heard good things about West End Grill, so after a 15 mile hike, cleaned ourselves up and headed out for beer, food, and rooting against the Patriots. Bar area was completely taken up an hour before hand, but there were big ole TVs strewn all around so no biggy. Our waiter was a little odd and seemingly hard of hearing, but ultimately for a pretty full house we had really good service. The otis wings were phenomenal. Like, if I go back I'm just going back for those wings. They've got a lot of choices for what you want saucing up your wings, I compel you(if you like spicy) to try the otis wings. Pretty spicy but so much flavor. Umami, meaty, spicy, juicy... delicious. I'm not even interested in their other flavors. We took the waiter's recommendation on the wings and were glad we did! The Triple sandwich was pulled pork, ham, and bacon with a slaw on top... man this thing let me down. Sounded absolutely phenomenal, but was just too sweet. Had the pulled pork been tossed in whatever magic the wings were? Man, I can't imagine. Everything was great texture wise, juicy, meaty, but the BBQ sauce the meat was tossed in was just overly sweet for me. Tots were... tater tots - one of their highlight menu items but were nothing special. Definitely have to give props to the sweet potatoe waffle fries. Definitely a tough starch to master in fry form, these bad boys were salted perfectly, crispy, and delicious. Dunked excellently into the ranch I had with my wings... mmm. Junkyard Fish Po-Boy, consisted of a piece of beer battered haddock fried golden brown and topped with melted American cheese. They served the sandwich with crispy bacon, jalapeno tartar, shredded lettuce and diced tomato on a sub roll. Of course I also got the hand cut fries as my side although they have seasoned fries and my all time favorite tater tots as add-on sides. Here is my breakdown of the meal: starting with the Po-Boy, the fish was almost perfectly cooked and served hot. The bread was toasty and warm and there was a good fish to bread ratio. The jalapeño tartar was a super complement to the fish and the tomato and lettuce were the perfect filler. The sandwich ranked a 8.5/10. The fries on the other hand, were spot on. Fresh cut fries are hard to cook right, but they nailed it. Perfectly crisp but not over cooked. 10/10. This is a great bar and grill that has a nice variety of food. They concentrate on doing a few menu items perfect rather than doing a ton of items wrong. This is a great place for a drink and a sandwich. read more

Went to dinner tonight with my fiancé. The wait wasn't terrible because it was a football day and there was limited capacity. We got sat down and menus were brought to us. Drink order was taken and drinks arrived pretty quick. Here's where the issues arise after getting our drinks the server disappeared like Houdini. 20 mins goes by and server is no where seen. I had to flag down a random server to find ours just to take our food order. The server we ended up giving our order too was a completely different one then was even serving us. Three of us had lunch today, and despite a large group celebrating an event in another room and a full dining room, we enjoyed fantastic service from our server, Lauren. Came here late at night on a friday night. Yes this is a sports bar and yes they mostly do drinks, so keep that in mind. We also did not have to wait to be seated which was a positive introduction to this restaurant. Once we sat down, the table was dirty and not wiped down at all as there was crumbs, and wet spots all over. We ordered a chicken caesar salad, sweet potato waffle fries and the honey bourbon boneless wings. The salad was very dry and did not taste fresh and the chicken was extremely dry. Chose this place today bc downtown for lunch was packed. Service is very slow. Burger was burned and over cooked. It says "get your favorite toppings " so I got cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeños only to find out they charge for each topping! My daughter had boneless Wings that were supposed to be hot but they weren't at all. The waitress never came back so I couldn't tell her the burger was overdone. I like this place! We've been coming there more recently. It's right down the street from our house. I really like the Margarita Haddock, and I've had it a few times. It's healthy and yummy. Today, I ordered the chicken gyro, and that was good! It was also reasonably priced. I just had to them add a little cucumber to it. It's a nice local, bar and restaurant. Happen to stumble across this place because Double T Diner was packed across the street. It ended up being a good choice. The bar is semi divey but clearly one of the places to be for sporting events. The bloody mary was very good. Beers were super ice cold. Sat. 3-20-21 My friend picked me up 2 apps from Westend grill early Saturday morning. Buffalo wings and a gluten free reuben. The wings were good but the reuben was so carelessly made. We love West End, for more reasons than I think I can list. We had always hoped to find a bar nearby that we enjoyed to grab a quick beer with friends, etc. We wanted a place to make "ours". Well, we did, and that's West End. My husband loves their honey old bay wings. They're the best in Annapolis, he always says. My favorite is their crab dip nachos. Almost anything we have had to eat here has been outrageously delicious (with exception to their side salad [bit boring, like a bland bagged salad] and their cream of crab soup being a bit too salty). But what is just as good as their food is their service. Their bartenders make an effort to recognize people who have been in more than once (and they do, on our third visit, they knew who we were). The servers are pretty stellar and kind. Plus, they make an effort with their Trivia Night, holiday celebrations (Halloween is a good time), and their Pint Night (by the beer they highlight, keep the pint glass it comes in). read more

I was so excited to visit here for a few weeks because it has such great reviews. Here is why I gave it a 2: 1. There was white stuff floating in our water ( I got a water without lemon and there was still stuff floating) so that was really disgusting 2. We got the grilled chicken tenders for a starter and they were so soft I felt like a had mashed potatoes in my mouth 3. I got the salmon simple for my entree and ended up only eating half because it tasted like literally nothing. The "sauce" on top of it was so plain. There was no flavor at all. It barely had a salmon flavor However, the tater tots and the fried Oreos were really good. Which is why I gave it two stars and not 1 or 0. The cook must be from Buffalo because he or she did a great job on my buffalo chicken wings. They were nice sized wings cooked to perfection and done in the perfect mild wing sauce with real blue cheese dressing on the side(not that watery blue cheese like some places). On this trip, DH and I wanted to graze on local fare and watch our favorite college team kick some football butt. To start, I ordered the Cream of Crab and DH ordered the Maryland Crab soup. Both were delicious. It is obvious they are using fresh/real crab. Instead of a meal, we decided to stick with apps. DH ordered an assortment of wings and I got the speciality nachos, made with home made chips and a creamy corn and crab dip. It was very good, but very rich. It would have been better to share it as I am still stuffed hours after eating it. Sandra, our server, was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was looking for a nice place to have a semi-fancy dinner on New Years Eve that also had tvs so my husband could still watch his football game (lucky him). In the past we have gone to more fancy restaurants on New Years Eve and have been severely disappointed by the quality of the food and the service. West End Grill surpassed my expectations and the food and service were both fabulous. We started with the crab dip and scallops on puff pastry with a creamy lime sauce and mango. The dip was incredibly creamy with lots of crab and my husband said it was the best crab dip he has ever had. The scallops were big and had a lovely grilled flavor and the lime sauce was heavenly. For our entrees we had the crabcake sandwich with the house salad (artichokes and grilled red peppers) and the Fort Severn rockfish which came with a sherry cream sauce with a cornbread cake and crab. Both were delicious and fresh. To finish it off, we had the chocolate terrine with a delicious macaroon and the largest cups of coffee you have ever seen. They also have some inventive cocktails at reasonable prices. All in all, I am glad we ventured from the waterfront and discovered this restaurant. read more

My boyfriend and I were passing through Annapolis this past weekend and decided to stop in for a late dinner and to catch the NBA playoffs before getting back on the road. The place was a little hard to find in the dark (needs a lit up sign) but once we found it and went inside, it had a nice upgraded Applebee's feel to it (a good thing for me). Lots of seating at bar and booths with tvs all around. We were seated immediately and our server informed us his shift was up and the bartender would be taking care of us. I was a little dismayed, as I thought we might not get the optimal service, but the bartender (sorry I forget your name, Pete of Jesse maybe) way a DARLING. He was very attentive and honest and put in our appetizer order of tots in immediately. My boyfriend was in a rush to get food because he was starving so he ordered the worl'd best burger and so I inquired about the shrimp and grits in my haste. My server was honest and said that he had never had it and couldn't give me a personal recommendation but said it was ordered 4-5 times a day... In retrospect, with how busy the place is, that should have been a hint that they DON'T specialize in seafood dishes, but burgers. I ordered it anyways. The tots were amaaaazing. The world's best burger was also amaaazing. My shrimp and grits were so awful that I immediately informed my boyfriend that I physically couldn't eat it. Grits were dry and the cheddar sauce tasted like onion juice was diluted with it. The shrimp looked good though. He took the plate back to the bar and immediately after coming back, my server came over apologizing profusely and handed me the menu to order something else. I erred on the safe side and ordered a chicken avocado sandwich which was DIVINE. The fact that the server was so sweet and accommodating with us, boosted it up to a five star.
