The guy who called told me I could go to their location on McKinley if I wanted to get it done that day. However, there was a good bit of a wait, so I ended up going home and rebooking online for a weekday appointment. I got to my appointment about ten minutes early and when I walked in, the man at the counter asked me, "You here for an inspection?" and called me by name. I confirmed he was correct. It felt good to be expected. They took my car back immediately and were done very quickly. Their waiting area is comfortable and clean. Parking was easy. The location is convenient at the corner of Southwestern and Camp - easy in and out if you're making a right turn!

I specifically sent my son to Schultz Auto, to have his car looked at, based on the pages and pages of positive reviews they share on "their" website. However, after leaving our car in their hands, it became clear that they do not share the full picture of everyone's experiences. I can honestly say that I would not recommend their services to anyone. As for my personal experience, we live out of state but my son attends college in the Hamburg area. He was experiencing an issue with his car and we couldn't get any recommendations on trustworthy local mechanics from other students/parents, so while we were researching mechanics, we suggested he take the car to the local Auto Zone to get a quick diagnostic. Auto Zone ran a diagnostic and shared with him the error code. They said he needed a new ignition coil and may want to have his spark plugs looked at/replaced. This was all occurring only a few weeks away from Thanksgiving break and knowing he had a 8 hour drive home, we needed to find a trustworthy local Machinic to replace the coil and/or plugs. We called Schultz Auto and explained the issue. We made an appointment for my son to drop off the car. After looking at the car, they sent us an absurd estimate. They estimated the repairs at $5,827.46. Keep in mind I only paid $8000 for the car when I bought it 3 years ago. This estimate included a full diagnostic charge of $244.96. This was clearly over inflated as my dealership only charges me $170 for a diagnostic. Also, this was not even necessary as we shared what the issue was and what we wanted them to look at and fix. Additionally, the quote was LOADED with unnecessary work including a brake job which, we just had brake work done 4 months earlier. At this point, we knew we were being taken advantage of. We were now stuck with a $244.96 (unnecessary) diagnostic charge, but we were trying to figure out if it would be better to just have my son try to drive or tow the car to a dealership or another mechanic. However, we still did not know where else to take the car. So we decided that we would just have Schultz change the spark plugs because we wanted to get the car back, and drivable, so that my son could make it home (safely) and we could take it to our mechanic, who by the way was floored by what this business was estimating. So we declined all the unnecessary work with the exception of replacing the plugs (no wires, nothing else, just plugs) which was $533.09 and when you add in the $244.96 diagnostic, taxes and fees, we were charged $808.50 to have spark plugs replaced. I feel completely taken advantage of because my son is a college student and we live out of state and I could not be there to help him with this. As a mom, it is extremely hard to send a kid off to another state to go to school. So you pray that there are good/honest people around him that will help him and treat him the way they would want someone to treat their kids. Being so far away, I feel completely helpless in these situations and I worry for other moms/parents in the same situation. The only thing I can do is share my story (which I am doing), so hopefully I can spare someone else from being taken advantage of.

For number three-hundred, I landed on West Herr Ford of Hamburg: ** We have had our trusty family trucker'ster, our much-loved 2012 Mazda 5, since we bought her brand new in 2011. ** But she had almost 130K miles, and was starting to give us some nagging issues. ** I literally cried, and cried hard, parting with my beloved Mazda 5. :-( #RIPMazda5 ** But West Herr Ford of Hamburg was there to soften the blow from losing my dearly departed. ** I started our West Herr journey entirely online, first confirming I could get the financing I wanted; the online application and communication was fast. ** Then we shopped around entirely online for a vehicle that met our requirements; the online filtering and saving was also very easy. ** I was in email communication with John Foster and Bill Pease, who were very fast and helpful in snagging the specific car we wanted to see, and setting up the test drive. ** Buying during pandemic times, Bill and John were also totally accommodating to keep our interactions as contact-free and sanitized as possible. ** When we decided to purchase the vehicle, Bill and John were also fantastic to hold it for another week for us, so we could make a larger down payment and improve our financing. ** Negotiations were all by phone and online as well; in the end we came to a fair price and great deal that met our financing needs, and got us the vehicle that met the needs of our family. ** When it was time to pay and sign, Bill and John were again very patient and accommodating to have all of the paperwork finalized, so we simply had to sign and pay our down payment. It was a lot of papers to sign, but they put us in a private sanitized room, and it did not take long. ** We left the vehicle for some additional work, and once that was done a few days later, a couple of very friendly West Herr guys delivered it right to our home. Thanks Dylan and Dylan's pick-up ride! ;-D ** And so far, so good, #KnockOnWood!, with our new-to-us sweet wheels! ** We went with a 2017 Chevy Equinox LT; we wanted a bit more car this time around than the Mazda 5, just enough to haul our pop-up camper or bikes. The 2.4L engine Equinox LT CUV was just right! ** She's a sweet, cool white paint job, which was perfect since I prefer a lighter color car ... but she's her own thing because she has a black pinstripe! I've been watching carefully at other white Chevy Equinox LTs on the road since we picked her, and have yet to see another with a black pinstripe. :-D So LOTS of thanks and appreciation to John, Bill, Dylan and other guy :-), and Eric Miller (the financing guy), for making this all happen for our fam'! I am grateful for your patience with my email questions, your fair dealings, your pandemic precautions, and all of your collective time and effort. If you are shopping around for a new or used car, check out West Herr of Hamburg, or any of the West Herr dealerships. This is our third West Herr purchase over the years, and surely not our last. Update: The nightmare truck from westherr.... Wouldn't pass inspection in NY as there was a rusted…read moreout hole in the frame, had it fixed for $800. Friend put additional $5 grand in repairs and sold it on fb marketplace for a lousy $3,500. to an out of state buyer where it would pass inspection with the welded frame. My opinion of westherr is even worse than in my initial review. They suck beyond belief. I drive by and give them a single finger salute. Can't understand how such an unethical rip off lying business can do so well. Its not what you know, it's whose hands you grease. Thieves. If I could leave a negative 5 stars I definitely would.

First time just 3 months ago, and just last month when snow collapsed the garage roof on my car. 5 Stars for both visits. While other places would take over a month to schedule...even though he was busy, Vince took my car right in. Pull out to the area where you can use the strong vacuums included with your wash. Also, there are compressed air trigger hoses to further dry seams, mirrors, vents, wheels, etc. This facility is owned by a young entrepreneur, Tyler. He asked for details about the truck & he said he'd give me $200 for the truck. He said it would be between 10:30-11am. I went to my mom's & waited for his call. I met him down the street , he came, removed the plates in 20 seconds, took the title, gave me my $200, yes I say MY $200 and I came back to my mom's. He was very quick, and it was a lot smoother of a transaction than I thought it would be. Ty guys !!
