The interior is well laid out with stool window seats, small tables along the walls, and a gorgeous wooden table at the end. The walls are professionally decorated with framed shots by local photographers. On to the star of the show...the coffee. I started with shot of potent espresso topped with oat milk. What a heavenly combo that was! I took the time to slowly savour each sip. They're not just about coffee, despite the name. The Jasmine loose leaf tea is very fragrant and provides a very nice alternative to those who prefer tea. Feeling a bit hungry, I added an almond croissant produced by a local bakery nearby. I love how this indie is supporting his own local businesses. Better yet, the croissant was sooooo nice right to the last bite....and of course, I scraped up all the crumbs and enjoyed that just as much. Lastly, the owner who took over the shop this summer is a gentleman. He knows his coffee!! I hope everyone in the area will keep supporting the Indies.

You pay at the cashier, and there's no screen to tip which I appreciate. I personally rather pay for a more expensive cup of coffee than tip, as I usually only sit for 15-30min, and take my own cup/plates away before leaving. Small cafe, about 4 small seats and a few by the bar so it does fill up fast. There's a large parking lot for the plaza, but it's paid parking only. Prices are pretty standard for a small local coffee shop. Overall, I'd recommend this place in Burnaby, walkable for both Royal Oak or Metrotown Skytrain station. It is a small space, but full of personality and charm. We ordered a Matcha Latte ($7), Japanese Latte ($7), and Matcha & Black Sesame Moffin ($1.50/each). I personally enjoy my matcha unsweetened so I loved that this one was served without sweeteners, and the matcha is lighter bodied with earthy flavours. The Japanese latte is made with coffee beans from Japan, and I'm not a coffee drinker usually so I can't comment much other than the fact it tasted mellow but had depth. The mochi muffins were not too sweet and deliciously chewy! I'd love to come back to try their hojicha latte!
