Prawn and Chips (it was a 6 piece but my boyfriend got to it before I could take a pic!

First of all, the staff was the sweetest. Not sure if they own the Fish House but they are so friendly and welcoming. You do have to call to order (they don't have online ordering yet). The inside of the restaurant is casual with plenty of seating. Located further south on California Ave, they have better street parking in the area. They make it fresh and piping hot! The cod and prawns were perfectly breaded, crispy on the outside, but perfectly cooked on the inside (not over cooked at all!). The fries were also fried perfectly golden, crunchy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. The clam chowder though is where it's at. Don't you dare skip it because it's the BEST clam chowder I've ever had, and I've had a lot of clam chowders from many fish houses not just in WA. It's creamy, the ingredients hold their integrity, and you can taste the flavor of the good sized chunks of clams. I wish they had a larger size or I should have ordered more! What a gem in West Seattle and very much worth coming here. It's close to us (we live along Delridge), parking is easy, prices are reasonable for Seattle, food is phenomenal, and the staff just really makes this place special! I see why they are highly rated! We will be back!

    Very tasty Cod and Prawns

Very tasty I had the special 2 Cod, 3 Prawns with Chips. Loved the crispy breading on the fish and shrimp. I'm not a "French Fry Guy" but these chips were tasty and crisp. Small shop , mostly takeout I assume but there are a few tables for dining in. Staff/owners were very kind and welcoming

Food was hot. Tasty Customer Service was excellent. Five star review will return here soon.

Cole Slaw & Mac n cheese

The fish and chips were really the star of the show. The sides were such a disappointment. Cole slaw was $4 and had no seasoning, kinda watery and bland. Mac n cheese was the biggest disappointment. For $7 the portion was small with over cooked noodles and a sauce curdy and flavorless. The noodles literally stuck together while also being so brittle since it's over cooked. The Mac n cheese are pre-made, portioned into these containers and finished off by Chef Mic(rowave). At this point, we were kind of rethinking our life decisions and wondered why we walked into this establishment in the first place. Only thing that saved the meal was the fish and chips. The fish was crunchy and so tender. It just melted in your mouth. The fries also didn't disappoint nor was it something epic. Service was also amazing, the lady was kind and threw in an extra piece of fish.

The prawns are not to be missed if you're a fan of prawns, big and crispy! My family did a tour of Fish & Chips while in Seattle, this seemed to be the favorite of all 8 of us! We hit about 5 different fish and chips spots. Great fish, crispy light breading. Their clam chowder wasn't my favorite. Wish I could describe why, but I just didn't love it. The interior has three small 2 person tables and some chairs, but no AC, really warm on the Seattle hot days. Seems locals know to order takeout, a lot of people were in and out picking up orders. The owners were super sweet and kind, spot is the definition of a small, family business.

Wow! Their fish and prawns with chips/fries were amazing! Nice batter, delicious seafood! I would come back in a heart beat //CONTEXT// I was staying in West Seattle and was craving seafood and specifically fish and chips! This place popped up so I had to check it out! //ENVIRONMENT// There's lots of parking on the side street. It's a small shop with maybe 3-4 small tables and more is for Togo however I ate inside. It's a very casual spot and no frills and clean. //FOOD// I ordered the fish and chips (I feel like I ordered the one piece but might have gotten the two piece?) and added three prawns to my order. I also ordered coleslaw and clam chowder and a drink. The fish and chips were so delicious! None of those frozen fish sticks here lol. The size was perfect and the batter was light and crisp. The fries were also delicious and had a light bay/cajun like seasoning. Prawns were YUM! A good chunky size and also well battered! Chowder was good but nothing too crazy too call out. Coleslaw was so yummy! Sweet but light and refreshing! //PRICE// I definitely over ordered for myself and it ended up being about $40-$45 but I definitely don't think I needed all that food. Since I was traveling I just wanted to try everything. //SERVICE// The lady was very nice who I believe was Probably the owner //OVERALL/// Highly recommend this spot!

Perfectly fried cod with chips and vinegar.

I've been wanting to stop here to try their food ever since they opened, but I'm always on the way to somewhere else. Today I knew I'd be driving past them right about lunch time on my way home, and I made my plan. The employees were super-friendly and it didn't take long at all to get my to-go order though it was made fresh on the spot. I still had a 10-minute drive home, and I can say that my order of cod and chips held up perfectly - cooled just enough to eat without burning my tongue, but the batter was still crunchy-crisp and the fries were creamy inside, just a little crisp outside like perfect British chips should be. The flavor was great with just a side of malt vinegar and a few squeezes of the lemon wedge they included. I'm sorry it took me so long to get there and I'll definitely be back!

Great food for a late lunch, and also a place to buy fresh fish. We buy fish and crab cakes regularly

This restaurant opened pretty recently near the waterfront. I was a bit unsure on what to expect -…read morebecause on one hand it felt like a classic overpriced spot targeting tourists looking for fish, but on the other side Tom Douglas has opened a lot of pretty good places across the city. I had the fish and chips, which are three pieces of Alaskan cod - coming with fries, tartar sauce, and ketchup. These were seriously awesome. I have to first talk about the beer batter on the outside, which has a phenomenal crunch. It's craggly and crunchy in the best of ways - with a consistent crispiness across the entire fish for every piece. I don't think I've ever had a crunch this good on fish and chips. The oil is clearly fresh, and it's served with basically no delay from the frying. I also loved the cod inside. It's super moist and flaky. Obviously, the fish doesn't have a lot of fat, but it makes up for it with a disappearing texture where you barely even need to bite through. They've clearly gotten the formula right on the fish. If that wasn't enough, the fries were easily the best I've ever had with fish and chips. They were hot, thick, and fluffy - a perfect combination that led to delicious results. The portion on these was great as well. If I had one complaint, the tartar sauce wasn't very good. It felt like it was missing both fat and acid, and tasted closer to ranch than what I was expecting a tartar sauce to be. I just didn't end up using it for the fish. Yes, this is pricey. The 3-piece order cost me $26 before tax/tip. That's quite expensive - despite a solid portion size. Is this the best fish and chips in the city? To me it's between this and Pacific Inn Pub. They have a much better tartar sauce and serve a larger portion at a third less of the price, but I think the actual fish and the fries here are better. I would say it's a toss-up - you can't go wrong with either one. Overall, a fantastic new opening that I would love to bring people to. 9/10

I didn't eat more than two bites. My fish was way over cooked. The fries were decent. Server was excellent and I felt bad dinging the star for her. She was great at keeping our waters filled and having a pleasant conversation. Restaurant was busy enough and the wait for the bathroom is in the same hallway the kitchen uses. I heard many complaints about this fact while I was in the tight quarters. Prime location, just need to look at fixing the cooking issues and this place would be jammed.
