We sampled widely from the menu, and walked away satisfied with the meal. Favorites included the white chowder (accompanied by the garlic foccacia bread to dip), fried calamari, and fried shrimp. The salmon "burger" was solid too, with two generous slabs of clearly fresh fish. Also worth a shoutout is the service, which made us feel welcome and relaxed even during world cup traffic. What was a little bit of a letdown? This may be surprising based on the restaurant's name, but the fried fish...and the chips/fries. Neither were *bad*, but I would've liked both to be crispier. The fries were also a bit oily for my taste. Overall if you're looking for a tasty seafood meal in a beautiful location, Mr. Fish won't let you down. My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday but it's a huge restaurant in a popular tourist area so they are definitely well-suited to accommodate lunch rushes. We got patio seating and ordered the rockfish tacos, the king of the sea (which is a piece of cod over a bed of fries and a cup of chowder), and the 30 mile clams. Our server was nice but obviously busy and we noticed that it took our food quite a while to come. It eventually did arrive all at once and by that time we were starving lol. The clams were an absolute showstopper. We especially loved the broth and dipped everything into it because it was that good! It came with two slice of garlic bread. I even wanted to add something to it to soak up ALL the broth. My friend enjoyed the tacos and while I really liked the piece of fried cod, it was quite a small piece. This place is just steps from the very touristy pike market place. Service was super friendly and prompt. The food? It was very good: the creamy chowder comes with spicy fish crackers which add an extra kick to it. My husband and I was visiting Seattle the day before we boarded our cruise. I decided to give Mr. de fish and chips a try. The location is beautiful. It's right across from the water. You can see the ocean if you sit outside. Also if you are a people watcher, you can watch people as they walk back-and-forth and enjoy the day. However, we ordered fish and chips as well as chowder. The bisque was flavorful, but the chowder was missing the fish there was barely any shrimp oyster anything the chowder was actually missing the seafood. Next onto the fish and chips although the fish and chips were fried to perfection they were crispy big pieces they were there was just no flavor. I mean it was bland so I didn't care for it. Our food arrived suspiciously fast for a busy house, fast enough to make you wonder whether anything was actually made to order or simply pulled from under a heat lamp. Oysters were pretty good Meh: we got a dozen oysters and they did not separate the oyster from the shells, so we had to dig them out a bit. I was honestly really surprised by Mr. Fish. The reviews aren't great and it's right by Pike Place Market, so I didn't expect much, but it ended up being a great experience. Service was really good, and the outdoor patio was lovely, especially on a sunny day. It's also dog friendly, which was a nice bonus. I got the Mr. Fish combo with fish and chips, calamari, and fried shrimp, and everything was delicious. The spicy, tangy tartar sauce with the calamari was especially good. Dined here with my nephews on a recent visit to Seattle. They were busy but got us in with minimal wait. I was in town just in time for Seattle Restaurant Week in the Fall so I made sure to make a reservation to be able to try their $20 special of a super delicious green tomato + shrimp patty sandwich, chips, and an IPA beer. My reservation was for the weekend and I am glad I made one as this spot will fill up fast due to the Pike Place business of it (rightfully so!). I was seated at the bar and had a good view of all the food, cocktails, and beers that were made for the rest of the patrons. The fish and chips looked great but I had it made with my shrimp patty sandwich and special. I was so delighted by the coleslaw and the creativity of offering a special. I was super grateful of the bartender who served me and gave me some really awesome recommendations of other spots to go visit for coffee, dive bars, and an afternoon treat. This location is right off the hustle and bustle of Pike Place Market and well worth a visit for a quick lunch and/or a beer to wet your whistle. read more

Got off the cruise ship and headed to the famous pike street to chill and eat before our hotel check in. Chose Mr. Fish based on distance from the (fun) chaos that is Pike st. and the menu. I needed seafood for my husband and non seafood for myself. This place was the perfect spot. Our server Chainey , (sp) was fantastic. She answered all of my silly questions and entertained all of my story telling. Our food was delicious. My burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was tasty. I'd read good things about this place in the Seattle Times, so we were anxious to give it a try. We went about 45 minutes before closing on a Saturday night. The restaurant interior and exterior both looked nice. The outdoor patio looked nice, but it was cold so we chose to eat inside. Our server was a nice guy, but was unaware or forgot that the red chowder wasn't available as they told us when we entered the restaurant. We had to remind him of that when he sled which kind of chowder we wanted. We both got the Mr Fish combo that included a small bowl of chowder, a small piece of fish, and fries. It took a little while for our food to come. When it did, the presentation was good, but unfortunately the food taste was not. The fries and were both just warm. I'm pretty sure they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple hours. The chowder seemed overly salty, and the crackers looked like Pepperidge farm seasoned fish crackers that were already in the chowder. Wish they had served those on the side so we could decide to put them in the chowder or not. We were hungry so we ate most everything, but about halfway through both came to the conclusion that the food was just not very good. When the sever first came around and asked how our food was, we had just gotten it, but although I very rarely complain about food at a restaurant, I wish I had called him back and said, "Your service is good, but could you please ask the kitchen to try again with some fried food that hasn't been sitting under the heat lamp for a long time, and could we please get the chowder with the crackers on the side?" Maybe our timing was bad, but they were still letting people in right before closing and it seemed they were also getting the same lukewarm warm fried food which kind of gave us the impression this was kind of a tourist trap place Sorry Mr. Fish, we won't be back. read more

Since we were limited on time we made a reservation. Although we probably didn't need one; since it was 4pm on a Thursday there were still multiple open tables when we arrived. I expect this place gets busier during peak lunch and dinner hours though, given its proximity to the market. We both got the King of the Sea with the Smoked Seafood Chowder. We also got a pair of oysters. I was not a fan of the oysters. They had a milky consistency and an unpleasant aftertaste. This being said; I don't eat oysters frequently, so I'm not an oyster connoisseur. The rest of the food was good. The fish was crispy and moist. The fries were thick cut and seasoned well. I will say, it was a great lunch-sized portion. But if you're going here for dinner you might to want add a second piece of fish or get the full fish & chips meal. The single piece of fish the King of the Sea comes with isn't very big. I found myself craving another piece. It's very walkable to Pike Place so convenient if you're in that area.
