Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing. Turns out it needed a new 'idler arm' and 'pitman arm' ...so I left it (and almost $2,000) with them for a month while they fixed it. Last month I took the same truck in for an inspection. I've driven the truck less than 3,000 miles in 2 years. Literally to the grocery store when the roads were too rough in the winter...that's all. Jim Kreitzer tells me I need new idler arms, pitman arms, and tie rods. This is the conversation that followed: me - "Why do I need to give you another $1,800 for something you fixed 2 years ago? I don't think I'll be coming back here if that is how you do business..." Jim - "That is just what my computer quoted based on part costs and labor." me - "I'm asking why do I need to fix the same expensive thing you supposedly 'fixed' exactly 2 years ago? Is that normal?" Jim - "Look I don't make the parts! How long should I warranty parts I install huh? You tell me!" me - "So do you replace the same shit on your own vehicles every 2 years? If so you must spend a fortune, because that is not normal for me or anybody I know." Jim - "I'm done talking about this. You got me all flustered! Don't come back." me - "Yeah that was the plan..." I am sure everyone have noticed an explosion of fully automated car wash facilities in the past 2…read moreyears. Here on in Mechanicsburg, Shiny Shell is the newest and the third car wash to open with the 2 mile stretch on Carlisle Pike. And the other two are national/regional chains as well; namely, Cloud 10 and Mod Wash. I've had my cars washed in all 3 facilities. Even though Cloud 10 has the most clout & presence, Shiny Shell in my opinion has the most utilitarian value. I gave it a try during the pre-opening weekend on 9/21/24 (officially opens on 9/24/24). From the get-go, the camera deciphered my license plate, identified me as a member, and automatically opened the gate. Also, unique only at Shiny Shell: 1. I was given a dashboard wiping pack in addition to the customary air freshener upon check in. 2. There are 2 different vacuum nozzles: a standard one and a small one for hard to reach areas. 3. There is a faucet in the member lounge where I can wash my hands (listen up Cloud 10 & Mod Wash). 4. There is a complimentary fountain drink station in the member lounge for customers. 5. Work-in-progress: a play area for kids while you do the vacuuming and wiping. These added values are enough for me to bump up my rating to 5. PS. I do notice that the car aren't as dry the moment the car leaves the tunnel, but that's a small miss.
