West Shore Coffee Bar, Warwick RI
    Bruce K.

It's not on the menu but the barista made me a cortado this morning. If you're usually a latte or cappuccino drinker, try a cortado next time. Instead of foamed milk, a cortado features steamed milk with the espresso. I think it's a richer flavor. And it was tasty this morning as I sipped it and studied my phone for the horrible weather and how I would make the most of it. WSCB is comfy with a nautical theme. Several benches and booths would make it a great spot for working with the laptop. [Review 15282 overall, 784 of 2021, number 45 in Rhode Island.]

Neat place with major surfer/boarder vibes. Definitely different from any other coffee place I've been to. And it's not a bad thing! Just had an iced coffee with cream and it was good! (Simple - mark of a good one.) I had egg and cheese on a plain bagel and said yes to the avocado. I'd never thought of it, but it was quite good! I'd come back for sure. #RIFoodFights #BestIcedCoffeeRI #BuyLocalRI

Dang, The ice coffee was not it. I don't know where to begin with the flavor. It was also half warm and half cold. I'm looking for my drink to be cold! Not warm. On the other hand, customer service was pretty good. They were kind enough to go over the menu and was patient while I was deciding what I wanted to get. Parking is also pretty good. I drove from providence to give this coffee bar a try, and it was not worth the hype for me to come back.

Ham & cheese croissant.... I mean bagel ham must still be at the market

I have to say I had really high hopes for this place. However, I was highly disappointed and grossly unimpressed. I ordered through DoorDash so a return wasn't an option. My order was incorrect and it could've been tolerable if it was actually worthy of being called anything remotely close to what was ordered. Btw, let me just tell you, when ordering a $6 drink, you get a small. So don't expect your money's worth. One drink was supposed to be a shake with whipped cream and brownie crumble toppings. Apparently not. So don't expect anything. Also, don't recommend the ham & cheese croissant. I'll include a pic below of these two items. It wasn't a croissant and the ham was apparently still at the market. I'm all for trying new things at new places. But I'm also all for never going back. There's no way I would ever consider a second chance here.

I always try to find a local coffee shop every time I travel. Coming from the west coat to the East coast, I was utterly surprised by west shore coffee bar. I got 3 drinks, just because I couldn't make up my mind, and they were all on point to satisfy my caffeine addiction. I got the coffee milk latte, Samoa latte, and the chocolate peanut butter latte. The chocolate peanut butter was a little bit different then my usual, but I'm on vacation, why not.. and it didn't disappoint. All 3 actual had a good amount of espresso to milk ratio. I even got a sample of their coffee milk, which was a little sweet, but i definitely can see how that would bring out the coffee in their drinks. Great friendly service! I would definitely recommend!

Who doesn't like a surfer theme? Very good coffee, very good muffin. That's all we tried. They have food & beer and are only three miles from the beach. Jigsaw puzzle and games are available for those who want to be social.

This surprised me because I didn't realize how much it had going on. There's a pretty decent food menu, alcohol (!), smoothies, and a *secret* latte menu. (I asked the poor employee about every picture on their Instagram: "what is this?! And this? What ARE these things??" And then I was given the secret menu). I came for the açaí bowl, but this is the first place in all of my research that had nuts in the granola they use :( So instead of granola, I had my choice of strawberries, more banana, or more honey (standard: it comes topped with banana, honey, and granola). I went with strawberries thinking they'd be sliced berries, not a sugared compote version. The açaí bowl was fine if you've never had one before, but I found it SO sweet. Whatever health benefit is incurred from the açaí is negated by the sugar. (But did I eat the whole thing? YES I DID. I liked the giant mug it was served in.) I also got a decaf Maui latte, and I really liked it. Again, it was sweet, but I expected it there. Their other drinks (like the unicorn one) are a diabetic coma waiting to happen, but great for the teenagers who come in. My only real complaint was that it was rainy and cold that day and still all the windows were open. It was FREEZING inside. I liked the decor and would have wanted to stay longer, but a smoothie paired with cold temps made my teeth chatter, so my friend and I cut our lunch date short. It's a fun spot, but I might not make it back unless it's a warm day and I'm waiting for someone to arrive at TF Green.

The coffee was great, the muffins were fresh and delicious, and we loved that they used white American cheese for our bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. Staff was wonderful, we will definitely be stopping here again on our next visit to Rhode Island.

Great food and coffees! We had the chai and twix lattes along with an açaí bowl, avocado bagels! Delicious!

One of my favorite coffee places for sure. The people here are beyond nice. I went here for my first visit on 6/4/19 and got a coffee. The coffee was phenomenal. They have an abundance of sugar free flavors that most coffee shops do not have. When I went there, I stayed talking to the workers for at least a half hour. They were so nice. I went back the next day and got the raspberry beer I believe it was and that was really good too. I had their Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte as well which was SO GOOD. The banana split latte is really good too, but I would ask them to put more banana in it for that extra flavor. The scenery of this place is so cute. I love it. They have a bunch of games too which is awesome. It's a cute spot to just hangout and go with friends. It's very comfortable. I love it here and I will be back !

Warwick finally has REAL coffee!!!! I've lived all over Rhode Island and in other states and was so pleased when a local business came to Warwick and brought real coffee that tastes great. I know RI is filled with D&D fans (dunkin donuts, not dungeons & dragons people...oh wait, there are a lot of dungeons & dragons fans there though. Anyway...) but, I was so glad to have artisan made coffee without pretension attached. VIBE They have a beachy vibe, which makes total sense being a stones throw from Oakland Beach and the other beaches on this side of Warwick (I'm over at Conimicut). It's very Cali, beachy, surfer vibe inside and is cute, homey, local and inviting. Also a great space to work in since they have booths and wifi for you. Many people also stop by with their pooches, so bring your doggie in for a coffee spin. (Note to bad dog owners: Dogs should not eat dairy, so you probably want to rethink giving your dogs whipped cream, just sayin', sorreeeeee.) Other than that, your dogs are so cute. Look on Instagram for all the cawfee and dawgs photos. COFFEE Hello, this is what you came here for. Their espresso shots in their lattes are so rich, full bodied and have such a great roast on this coffee, I love it. My personal favorite coffee in RI comes from Custom House in Middletown BUT West Shore is doing a bang up job of local roasting and I highly recommend. Very flavorfull. 'SECRET' NOT-SO-SECRET-ANYMORE LATTES The list of lattes is long enough to give everyone something different to have. From something chocolatey, to fruity, to minty, to cookie/cereal... there is something for every kid pallet on an adult! LOL My personal fav latte (and I have tried so many) is S'Mores. VEGAN & LACTOSE PEEPS They also have plant-based milks that they can make your latte with, so go for it vegans and lactose intolerant peeps. They have you covered! TAP BEER??? Yes, they also have beer on tap! Whuuuut? you say. Yes, they have a selection of tap beer so mix it up and get a latte, get a beer, sit for a spell either way and bring a mix of friends- some have coffee, some can drink- both are covered. FOOD, PARKING and MORE There is also some cool eats on this menu as well. Check the website for the full list, but you won't be disappointed and they also have a daily selection of different pastries in the front case, so go there and see what is there each day. Parking is no problem since they have a lot right there and if for some reason it's full, there is a lot next door...but you should have no issues getting a spot in their lot. I part in their lot every time, no problem. They have a selection of books to read while you wait as well, many with the surf vibe and you'll enjoy hanging out or getting something to-go.

Server came over to give us waters, came back quickly twice to take drinks then food orders. We were told our appetizers would come out shortly. Then we waited. Our food was finally brought out (all together). After we got everything we wanted more drinks. No one came back to check on the food or refill our drinks. Food was good, not great. The dipping sauces we ordered for the pretzel were really subpar. Beer cheese that was split and congealed, and guac that was dark and slimy. Everything else was decent. The standout part of the meal was actually the soup of the day, clam chowder. Cashing out with a gift card was a pain. We were also not provided an itemized receipt. The amount seemed way higher than expected. Either way, payment required two different transactions so we could tip on a credit card. Not their fault, but also our original server must have left, and the one that took over apparently was the only one on the floor even as the dining room started to fill up. Had we ordered more drinks like we wanted, it would have brought us over our gift card amount so we could have paid the remained with a credit card. I don't think we would go back.

Service is great, very attentive and friendly. The food is what earns this three stars. I tried a stuffie, German onion soup, a Farmhouse burger, and a key lime Mason jar. The stuffie was a little small, and most of the flavor was imparted by the ham and the squeeze of lemon. The German onion soup, I'm not sure why it was German except to not be French? Outside the name difference, the onions were way too large, and there was a total lack of flavor going on in the soup. The crock was very large too. The burger and fries looked pretty good, and I enjoyed the flavors here. The fries were rough hewn, so there was good crispness from all the edges. The toppings of the burger, and the bun, were also hearty. Unfortunately, my medium rare burger was more like raw meat with surface browning. I'm a big fan of rare steak, but ground beef needs a little more cooking. Also, the house made ketchup is really more of a marinara sauce. If I'd ended up eating more of my plate before they took it away to re-fire the burger, I would have asked to replace the ketchup. The key lime Mason jar was e everything you want to wrap up a meal. Great flavor, lightness, citrus. I did have to bring most of it home but, unlike the burger they brought back in a box, I'm excited to get back into the key lime. From an accessibility stand point, there is no ramp to get in nor handicap parking, so the evidently don't want your business. Once you're in, there are some seats you could get in, but if this place were full it would be difficult to navigate for anyone. The bathroom is a single room, but very spacious and nice. So, mixed bag for access. Your mileage may vary, but I'm not racing to return.

I've eaten my way through quite a few things here over the years, and while there are plenty of good choices, I keep coming back to the Smokey and the Bandit smash burger. At this point, I probably know what I'm ordering before I even sit down. There's just something about that combination that keeps winning. The food here is consistently good. Everything I've had has been fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the kitchen seems to have that part figured out without making a big production of it. The menu has enough variety that you can come in with different appetites and still find something you want, but it doesn't feel like one of those places with a menu the size of a small novel where you need twenty minutes just to decide what you're looking at. The beer selection is another reason I enjoy Chomp. There's enough variety to make choosing a beer part of the experience rather than simply grabbing whatever happens to be on tap. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which is increasingly something I notice because restaurant prices have a funny way of creeping upward when you're not paying attention. The location is another part of the appeal. Chomp sits in a great little part of Providence where you can easily make an evening out of being in the neighborhood. There are plenty of other restaurants, shops, and places to wander around nearby, so it doesn't feel like you're making a special trip just to eat and then immediately getting back in the car. Tonight, though, I have to give a special shout-out to Bella, who was our server. She was outstanding. Friendly, personable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding bacon to my Smokey and the Bandit, which I probably wouldn't have thought to do on my own. I'm very glad she mentioned it because it was an excellent call. Sometimes the best recommendations are the simple ones, and she nailed it. One piece of advice if you're planning on coming here: make a reservation if you can. Chomp can fill up quickly, and given how good the food is, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's the kind of restaurant where people come back because they already know they're going to have a good meal, and I'm certainly part of that group. Five stars from me. Great food, good beer, reasonable prices, a fantastic Providence location, and genuinely good service. I've tried enough of the menu over the years to know that Chomp has plenty of options, but apparently I'm still incapable of walking through the door without ordering that Smokey and the Bandit. Add Bella's bacon recommendation to the list of reasons I'm going to keep coming back.

The brussel sprouts I ordered also lacked flavor and seasoning aside from the char, and his Cajun fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. After driving from Massachusetts to Rhode Island as a special Mother's Day treat, it ended up being a very disappointing experience, especially given the overwhelmingly positive reviews. They do have parking available which is nice since there area mostly only have street parking. Inside is pretty large and they have lots of tables and counter. It was not too busy so we were sat down right away. They did have some easter specials but i ended up getting Fried chicken sandwich and deviled eggs. Deviled egg came out quickly. It was ok looked kind of sad as seen on the picture. Rest of the food took a while for it to come out which was weird because it wasn't that busy. Maybe short staffed. Finally the food arrived. Fried chicken sandwich was honestly not that great. Looked like it was fried too long, darkened. The cut did not have a lot of meat and it was very dry. The sauce and brioche bun helped it to balance it a bit. Fries were good. Overall the food was ok at best. We decided to try their dessert. We got the easter special egg cheese cake and carrot cake. The desert was excellent. Egg cheese cake had egg and nest looking chocolate frosting which made it look in theme for easter. It had nice creamy cheese flavor with chocolate frosting and good crust at the bottom. Carrot cake was moist and delicious. Service was ok. We had a new server that seemed like was not fully trained yet with knowledge about their menu. Wait was long for the main meal. I can see that she was trying though. Overall the place was ok. Food quality seemed to be inconsistent with the menus. If anything i would come back for the desert if they have the cheese cake around again.

It was all delicious~ I enjoyed the nachos and the Brussels were sweet and savory~ the wings were perfectly crispy~ honestly it was well priced and we all left full! I would definitely come here since it was so good! The service was very attentive, asking about our tables good intolerance, and conditions. He did come by 4 times to confirm our order because a friend had a food medical condition and that was helpful~ great and loud vibe~
