Unfortunately, the cochinita nachos were very disappointing and, honestly the worst nachos I've had at a restaurant. The nachos are the primary reason for my two star rating. The Mexican pulled pork contained a few fatty pieces, and the Jack cheese was unevenly dumped throughout the nachos in large chunks. The bottom of the plate was also soaking in grease from the cheese. I've never experienced this with nachos at another restaurant, and I would think the excess grease would be drained so the chips at the bottom aren't left sitting in it. I noticed that most guests were ordering their small burgers and fries, so I may return to try those or possibly order another chicken dish.

The real secret, which I discovered the hard way, is that you can join the waitlist online before you even leave the house. Life-changing information that arrived too late for us. Learn from my mistakes. Once seated, the coffee is hot, the iced tea is fresh, a surprisingly rare achievement at breakfast hours, and the menu has enough options to cause genuine decision paralysis. We ordered two Traditional Breakfasts, both over easy eggs, both crispy bacon. One arrived cooked to absolute perfection, eggs exactly as requested, bacon doing exactly what bacon is supposed to do. The other arrived with eggs cooked firmly over hard. Same table, same order, same server. How does this happen? It is one of breakfast's great unsolved mysteries. Tonight i went to westside cafe for dinner as usual...during my dinner and spontaneous conversation w friends who are staff there i was approached by the owner tracy sanford and spoken to loudly and rude simply because i sent back a hardboiled egg that i ask for w my dinner salad that was green....he brought another out ...green....i did not ask for it....he then proceeds to tell me all hb eggs are green.he then tells me loudly that i am hard to please i send food back alot yet i always pay for my 25 dollar meals plus tip the staff....he then tells me he has to beat his staff to wait on me which is not true....i hv never had a issue w any staff there they come visit my table n talk to me even if waiting on others...i proceeded to tell him ive never seen u here who are u he replied the owner.i told him ill never return to ur establishment again.he replied thats fine w him...he then returned to my table saying he will cover my meals tonight but he doesn't want me back n his resteraunt again and that this cannot be the 1st place ive been thrown out of...i responded ur not throwing me out.i told u id never be back ...i didnot even finish my meal.we got up n left but not before i spoke to staff there n told them what he said.....now in my mindset if im paying for my dinner n want it cooked well or lightly well n do not want to eat a green egg i believe thats my right.....ive never 1 time had my bill there paid by them.i hv proof of what i spend in that establishment and im very angry about the behavior of this man...the owner at that.....making a scene in frt of a full restaraunt instead of coming to my table n talking politely to me.....im almost challenged to say i think hes predjudice because i am gay..... If you want the very best hamburger in Texas, come here. Ask them to grill the bun. Make you forget about Freds and Kinkades before you finish the first half. As a customer for many years I had expected a much higher standard of hospitality. The service was extremely slow and inattentive. We waited 25 minutes for someone to take our food order. When the food finally arrived my order was missing items. Of handling the error with professionalism the staff openly complained nearby making my party. Me feel unwelcome and like a major inconvenience. To make things worse I was overcharged on my bill. I was charged $10.00 for a smoked sausage that is clearly listed online for $6.49. This has happened in the past, but when I'm told it'll be fixed they call it double charging. This level of unprofessionalism, poor customer service and incorrect pricing is completely unacceptable. After years of supporting Blue Mound Cafe I am now seriously reconsidering whether I will ever return. I hope this feedback leads to changes, in how your team treats customers.

I have had a version of the trash breakfast when I was visiting Joplin, Missouri. This version was descriptively better. The gravy was not congealed like it was in Missouri. It was nice and light and flowed over everything. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Overall, this was a 10 out of 10. Wife enjoyed her chicken and waffles. The chicken was very juicy fresh, and appeared to have been battered here did not come frozen in a bag. Our waitress Alma was super kind and got our order perfectly. She was friendly all throughout our visit.
